The information on articles presented, are very good. But as you scroll down to read more, there are all these pictures of people and or incidents not related to the article distracting and irritating when your focus is on the story your reading. Otherwise, I would have rated this news info very high!
App needs a lot of work
The video resizing is clunky, the in app ads consistently overlay the audio and sometimes the video of the live broadcast whether you’re on WiFi or over a cellular connection. Frustrating app that needs some attention from the developers.
The app is not the best
This is one of those strange, non-rotating app requiring it be used sideways on my iPad. I like the station but the app is the reason I often skip reading or watching local news.

I still watch Boston 25 but it is incredibly sad all the people who have left your station in the last 5 years. You definitely can’t watch the station for the personalities anymore, it’s all about the format….

Adds are ruining the experience
I love this channel - and I love the app when it’s working. Ads will take too long to load and then the actual news video is lost. Sometimes the ads cause the news article that is being pushed to my phone to reload constantly and I have to force quit the app. Even if I mute the add and read the bottom it jumps to the top to load the ad that is failing. It’s a bummer. I’d pay to make the ads disappear so I could actually watch the news on the go. TLDR: The ads literally ruin the reason to have this app. Well it’s been sometime since I wrote this review of the app and nothing has changed. Got a notification about a storm coming in that I wanted to hear about, the ads play and then stop, times out, I then quit the app. I’ve deleted in reinstalled the app a few times but it’s the same issue. The ads just keep ruining the experience. Watching this on tv is way better than using the app which is unfortunate if you don’t have time. No news on the go *sadface. Might just watch thru the Hulu app instead.

Love the app! Only issue I have sometimes is the app will send me a notification and won’t actually load correctly… also im not sure why, but on the weekends I can’t watch the weather in the mornings… other than those cpl issues I do love this app!

News story videos work half of the time. It’ll make you watch the whole add, then go black. This happens far too often.
Boston 25 profit centered
first of all advertisements make me leave the app. The ads are too long and exhausting, waiting for the story that’s 2 to 3 sentences long and then say this is an ongoing story and never hear about it again. One of the things I like about channel 25 is the morning people, especially Gene Levanchi.

App is awful
The app doesn’t work for live news 99% of the time and the app is just kind of terrible. I don’t know if anyone else has these issues but the app freezes and barely works..
The Boston 25 Fox App needs work!
Hi Boston 25… Like your station but this app needs work! What about a search function front & center to find segments, video, etc? How about a link or share feature on segments to drive traffic & allow users to share interesting news stories with others? There are more, but these are basics!

Bent the knee for 47
Due to the recent political climate, they’re reporting false information about 47 and 🧊 & basically bowing down to a dictator in fear of what he’ll do to their network. It’s gross. It’s a slap in the face to us in MA. It’s not on brand for Boston 25 at all. I have deleted this app and will not be getting any news from people who bend the knee to authoritarianism.

I realize that they have to monetize these apps, but come on! First, the “All Things Basementy” guy, followed by two full length commercials before the video of the news story runs. Forget about it, just read the text.

Navigation is terrible
I just wanted to get latest weather…sure there is a menu bar and it shows detailed weather but the video doesn’t play. And you can’t delete city’s in the weather list
Gets worse every year
Now 1/3 of iPhone 11 screen is taken up by video of there choosing that I never watch. No way to collapse or set a preference to not show it. Bottom 1/4 is taken up by an ad. So very little scrolling space left to actually read the news. News is often days old - why report on a ball game 3 days ago; along with the one two days ago and the one last night! I can never tell which is the one I haven’t read yet until I start reading it over again.

You do the best job in covering local news. Channel 5 repeats itself with yesterday’s news you are simultaneously broadcasting today’s news which they will broadcast tomorrow for the most part . While other news casts report “police activity on such and such a street …”as “breaking news just coming in” your station, at the same time, delivering a story on the same subject with all the details even the toughest critical audience could ever ask for. Your station always get the “scoop” on local stories before any other station. While other stations present vague accounts of yesterday‘s news and “feel good” stories as filler you simultaneously are presenting up-to-date and detailed news of today events. Keep excellent reporting of current daily events. One constructive suggestion is to get rid of the term “breaking news“. It is too trite and is used excessively by all news broadcasters.Yet more commonly “breaking news“ should be titled “yesterday‘s news“ by other stations. You are number one!

The app glitches constantly
The app glitches and just won’t load or closes constantly. You can’t minimize the screen without it completely crashing the app. It’s annoying. It’s not my service I’ve definitely checked all those things on my end before bothering to write this.
