Scam
I bought this app for a lifetime price, then Airmail decided to charge 9.90$ nonetheless. They now increase the price to a whopping 39.90$ a year. What a disingenuous grift. Stay away.
Shame
I loved the app, got on really well for a couple days and then… The Go Premium ads started, every time I opened the app there was the advert. I don’t want pro, I was quite happy as it was. The only way to stop the ad was to delete the app. So I did. Update 08/07: Tried again, signed up for Premium. Sadly the app continually crashed, an absolute pain. It is such a shame as I love the look and feel of the app.
Why so steep a price increase?
I’ve had this app for years and love it. But to go from $9.99 a year to $39.99 a year. Man that’s quite a price hike. Not sure how you can justify that. Looks like time to find another app.
Was good now too locked down
I used this for a long time but now with the updates it is so hard to find the actions on an email after taken. Unfortunately the price is going up to $40 and without major changes I am not going to renew. Airmail team please reach out if you want feedback

Airmail is amazing and I gave this app a 5 star review but now I gave it a 3 star review because I can’t import from icloud and this app won’t get a chance to set up mail for icloud.

I purchased this specifically to manage multiple aliases from multiple custom domains with iCloud Plus. There are major issues with the mobile app that cause fatal errors on replies it’s nearly unusable. If they don’t fix, I’m going to abort and eat the $40.
Not for me
I hate to let this App go again. The response to support was great. They got very quickly and worked on my questions. Unfortunately, the product didn’t live up to my expectations. There are features I hoped had been added, but they weren’t. I think this app tries to be too much for everyone but doesn’t quite make it.
Really disappointed!
The update on 24th Jan 2024 has removed the little 3 dot “more” button that was on every message preview in the list of emails in any of the labels, including the inbox. This button was in the bottom right of that messages preview and this saved 2 extra clicks when doing something with that email, such as removing it from the spam folder, or removing/adding a label. My workflow is now slower. Please bring back that little button or at least make it and option to have!!! UPDATE TO ABOVE REVIEW. Airmail have brought back the 3 dot functionality (as of March 2026) in line with the new Apple Liquid UI, and it has resolved my concern perfectly! Thank you very much for listening and implementing 🙂
$40/yr for an email client
I have been using this for several years with my private email server. The only reason I was using it is because it can be configured to not filter mail through a third party server. I was begrudgingly paying the $10/yr fee the past few years. But they decided to increase it to $40/yr. Absolutely not. Goodbye.

In my inbox emails appear to be duplicated, but when the “duplicate” is opened it’s an entirely different email. Confusing and problematic
Keeps getting more buggy
Been a user for many years, tolerated little degradations in quality for so long, I can’t take it anymore. First it was stuttering UI, but the visual was so good, I lived with it. Then the badge count is always 10 when I have NO unread message, so I had to turn off its badge. Now it keeps notifying me of messages I’ve marked as read DAYS ago. Every day. This is it. It’s negative for me. I don’t mind the price hike, but paying more to get a much worse experience?
Update - downrate
Seems the latest version for IOS26 is a backward step. Whilst the overall amazing capability for personalised mail management and tools remains good, the new side bar for accounts and folders is awful. No more personalisation, collapsing of hierarchies, and Gmail connections now are unable to bring in all the system folders, whilst other mail services are ok. Having exhausted the suggestions from support I can only assume the design is flawed. Enough to consider moving away from Airmail - but we wait a bit & see if an update appears..
Best integrated mail app
Super easy navigation and rich features
Horrible
This app was at one time decent and previously you could count on timely tech support. Not anymore!! I moved from an older Mac Pro to a Mac Studio and now forced to use the “new upgraded version” of the app. Simple things like trying to get my business logo to load cleanly created all kinds of HTML errors. Once I figured that out with absolutely zero help from tech support I realized the read receipts plug in no longer works. This app is absolute garbage and tech support is a joke. Stay away!! Please do not waste your money or time on this.
Irritation… pop up advertising upgrade
Every time the mail is opened or sits for awhile,the pop up advertising stops all ability to read or continue reading the messages and creating messages.
SO Much nag for pro version
Currently testing to possibly switch from Spark, however about every time I open the app I get a full screen nag to update to pro. Not sure how much longer I can stand this
Far too aggressive with the upsell!
I am looking for an alternative to the default Mail app and wanted to try Airmail. Functionally it seems good and seems to have all the features I want, but there is one massive fatal flaw which is that it keeps popping up the “Airmail Pro” full-screen banner every time I open the app! Now, I get it. It’s a subscription app now (never used to be!) and they want you to subscribe. If it were me I’d show this screen once a month? Maybe once every couple of weeks to say “hey, don’t forget you can subscribe to get all these great features…” but EVERY SINGLE TIME I TAP TO OPEN THE APP??? 🤯 Far, far too aggressive and I have had to remove Airmail after only a few days. Whoever thought this is a good idea, shame on you…

way too many bugs
there are simply too many bugs for an app of this age. i’m tired of fighting with it. support is miserable. each release just says ‘bugfix’. that’s not good enough. i give up. switching to another mail client app.

Great app for managing multiple accounts in one app. Support is also very good with quick responses and issue fixes. Steven from support did an amazing job getting an issue fixed with an update. Great to see such responses from support.
Constantly crashes on iPhone 16 Pro Max. You won’t be able to check your email.

Broke outlook
Since last update they broke compatibility with Outlook/Hotmail accounts. Now says ‘push services error’ on anything Outlook. Gmail still fine. That’s unacceptable.
Missing messages
Yesterday, in one of my 365 accounts, I sent and received 5 separate emails. I have two questions / issues. 1) When I filed these five messages in my folder from my Outlook running on my desktop, I only see 4 of the messages when viewing the same folder from within Airmail. There is one message showing a “2” in a square box that I assume means two messages which I cannot separate or show individually. 2) Two of the 5 messages were sent with a modified subject line. The subject line when viewed from Airmail is not correct and a major problem.

The price quadrupled!
Raising the price to four times the original amount is a bad strategy, especially for those of us who have supported this app for years. The right approach would be to offer long-time users a 50% discount for life—meaning we’d pay $20 a year. I’d gladly pay that, but going from $10 to $40 with nothing to justify the hike? That’s an easy pass for me... I’ve already cancelled my subscription.
A great email app
I've used Airmail for a couple of years now and I find it to be a great email app. The app is easy to use, is clear in its layout and has lots of customisable areas (even down to the colour of app icon). I use the pro version and recently started to receive pop ups asking me to upgrade to the pro version although subscribed to the end of October. I contacted support and this has been rectified. Had it not been for this bump in the road I would have given 5 stars.

Too many bugs
Too heavy app for any ipad. Slow, full of bugs, specially with external keyboards. The only thing that has made me keep it is the possibility of managing and creating labels in any kind of account other than gmail
Quick to Complain
An award winning email app, without ridiculous subscription prices. Sure, there are better, more focused business apps out there, but given the price, you certainly get value for money, and definitely deserves my time writing this, and a 5 Star review.
4x Price Hike
What warrants the price increase from $10/year to $40 all of a sudden?
Amazing but…
When trying to create a signature for one of my business accounts, it doesn’t allow any images. This could be THE best email client if this feature was added.
4x price increase forced me to cancel
I use this app daily and have been since their inception. Nice app, slightly better than native iOS app. Felt worth $10/yr, but just noticed my renewal was going to be 4x that. The ROI isn’t there for me. App has been the same for years (at least for how I use it).
Used to be my favourite
This used to cost 3x less, the free version pops up an ad to pay for it almost every time you use the app which completely put me off. Also integration with default mail didn’t seem to work for me - might be a premium feature. Great app otherwise.

Love/hate
I love/hate the app. Love that its good option to Outlook and Mail. What i hate about it is that its unyielding. For example the reply button has to sourced from a list. The signatures work, sometimes. There is no way to link it to Google calendar. And few more glitches. Hopefully, they will be corrected soon. One additional negative is the app does not contain spam filtering and requires outside help.
Using for ages, pretty good!
Been using this for a while now across all my iOS and OS devices. Can’t say I’ve had any bad issues with it, it did at one point not sync labels I’d set up for email tags, but other than that I can’t really fault it. I would like to see integration with apples new AI, but maybe that’ll come later. Something like how Mail doesn’t now and gives you an overview of the email. Great app that does everything I need it too!

I’ve happily used this for years, but the new yearly subscription price is ridiculous. I’ve cancelled and I’ll be looking for a new email app.
No notifications on my Apple Watch
I have the Mac version of Airmail and love it, so getting the IOS version was a natural step for me, and Its a great App, it works so well on my iPhone 14, but not at all on my Apple Watch, I can set up the glance but it freezes the watch when its activated, and I get no notifications on the watch at all when new email arrives, I have searched all the settings options but to no avail so the lack of Watch notifications just devalues it somewhat for me, hopefully the developers will fix this soon but for this bug I would have given the App 5*
Ok when it works
The interface is nice, and it’s very functional.. however i have 2 faults with it.. 1) I paid for lifetime membership, but then they switched to a subscription model. Sure I can keep using it, but I get a popup asking to pay for it every 5 minutes 2) I decided to pay for the subscription, but Hotmail accounts stop working after a month or two. Authentication fails, and when you try to login it doesn’t take your password and says you’ve entered username or password incorrectly too many times asking for captcha. This doesn’t work however no matter how many times you try.. outlook.com login type doesn’t support passkey login, doesn’t support full Oauth with 2fa, doesn’t work with app specific passwords, also doesn’t work logging in as exchange account.. can login as office365 account via Authenticator but mail doesn’t actually flow (maybe if you pay for o365 it would?). So the only thing I can do is reset my password to get it to work and then I have to login to about 40 other devices and accounts that link to that account.. got sick of doing this so I will no longer be using this app. It’s a shame too.
Really Nice.. BUT
I’m just currently trying this one out but sadly it disappoints me right away, there is a “get airmail pro” floating banner at the bottom of the mail. At first it’s ok but as I navigate to settings the upgrade to airmail pro is intrusive, I don’t like that it keeps bothering you to upgrade to pro, paying monthly or yearly, some people may argue that it is worth it especially yearly, why can we just have a normal free email app for day to day use and to those who wanted to upgrade to pro to use more of the features, they can do so by going to settings then hit upgrade, not like getting into a random “hey upgrade to pro” surprise pop up.
