I’ve heard about some rumors for spyware called planatir I’m not sure but I think my phone is slow because of this app.
Invasion of privacy
I love how invasion of privacy for children and adults with parents has just become normal and acceptable. People freak out about China and their security system, then turn around and plant things like this on their child’s phone because they can’t do their own job as a parent. They want too be lazy and weak and want to rely on AI garbage to parent for them.

If you want to get this for your child think again. This app is good for security reasons and safety, hence the 3 stars. But the problem is it stops children from having fun on their devices and makes them feel like they’re being monitored and watched. They literally removed all my Wi-Fi and so I can’t chat my parents at school or anything because my Wi-Fi’s blocked. Most of my website based apps have been blocked by Qustodio and now even my Parents are getting annoyed 😠. So for your conscience to be clear about your children, I’d advice go find another app.
Please don’t get this app for your teens
This is only 5 stars so you can see it. As an older teen, around the ages of 15–18, I genuinely feel like this app has made my life so much harder. I didn’t have this throughout my childhood, and now, as I’m a high school student ,some of the most important years of my education I’m suddenly given a screen time limit, even though the majority of my schoolwork is ONLINE. Imagine coming home after a long day at school, using your phone or computer for things you actually need to do, and then suddenly your screen time runs out. Now I CAN’T EVEN UPLOAD MY SCHOOLWORK. How is that supposed to help me succeed academically? I’m trying to live my life like a normal teenager. I’ve been good throughout my childhood, and now I have a strict parent who already limits me, and this app has basically given her another tool to control my screen time even more. I understand that the developers want to help parents set boundaries, and I completely understand wanting to protect younger kids from excessive screen time. BUT THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A 10 YEAR OLD AND A 16 OR 17 YEAR OLD. Some parents take these restrictions way too far, and apps like this give them even more control without considering the situation at home. I can’t even have a proper conversation with my mom about it because it just turns into yelling, so I’m left feeling completely powerless. I genuinely HATE what this app has done to my situation. I’m angry that something designed to “help” families has made things worse for me. I’ll never understand why older teenagers are treated the same way as little kids when our responsibilities are completely different. Parents, PLEASE think carefully before downloading something like this for an older teenager. If your goal is to get your child off their phone, take them outside. Go for a walk. Do something together. Make being away from the screen actually enjoyable instead of simply taking it away and giving them no choice. And to the developers PLEASE consider making this more age appropriate. When a parent sets up the app, there should be an option to enter the child’s age, and the restrictions should actually reflect that age. A teenager in high school should not have the exact same limitations as a young child, especially when schoolwork, communication, WORK (just like you have to do everyday so do teens, we have responsibilities too) and everyday responsibilities increasingly depend on technology. Before making an app like this, PLEASE ask yourself if you were a teenager living in 2026, how would you feel if your entire day was controlled by a screen time limit even when you needed that technology for school? I understand the purpose of the app. I understand wanting to protect kids. But the way this can be used with older teenagers is completely unfair, and I genuinely hate having to deal with it.

Dear Qustodio, i am a 14 year old boy and on my own, i figured out that if you are a kid and want to turn it off, all you have to do is go to Settings> General> VPN & Device Management then just take it off from there. you should definitely ban this method even though it notifys the parents when you do this. Also, i do suggest warning the app users that lots of apps require NO VPNs. i recommend creating a page that opens when the parent first signs into the app that warns them about that. please don't make that page a 20 page essay because no one will read it and just skip it. i really recommend doing this because i've had to do lots of research figuring out how to use apps that require no vpn. i am really greatful and thank you for such and amazing and safe app!

Battery Usage
I mean the apps fine in general but it drains WAY too much battery and I have to charge my phone once a day, so it’s really annoying and hard to manage.

Hi I’m a child whose parents downloaded this on my phone and iPad. I always feel watched and have no privacy anymore like I can’t even text my friends without my parents knowing everything. It’s so annoying. I read some reviews and the fact children are getting ASSAULTED because of this app is actually disgusting. My parents can see my search history and it tells them I searched up things I didn’t like “men’s thongs” and “Gum (Drugs)” which are real examples even when I didn’t search it up. It told them I searched up drugs when I searched up gum btw like how are they related I was like 9 why would I search up drugs 😭

I can see why parents use this. I’m a kid, It might seem annoying with all the restrictions but that is your parents fault, not the apps because your parents make the restrictions, and even if they are a bit annoying, if you are reading this you are already on your phone too much to be complaining about limitations. You have enough time to actually do things but instead you just complain about limitations it how it’s too short, just enjoy the time you do have on Facebook or Instagram or whatever you use and stop wasting your time complaining.

Qustodio lies about your screen time. For example, once I checked my Qustodio screen time and it said 4 hours and 26 minutes. Then, I checked my Apple screen time and it said 2 hours and 55 minutes. It lies about your screen time to try to make your parents think ur on ur device for too long. Then my parents get the email “your kid was on their phone for 5 hours yesterday!” And then they say how helpful Qustodio is and put these weird screen time bugs all over my phone. So yea, if u want ur app to be good stop making it give false information. SHUT DOWN QUSTODIO NOW!!! If anyone agrees with me we should get this app taken down. 😭🥀💀

Good but depleted battery fast
This app was running for hours in the background even when the device was idle. I think Qustodio could work harder to make this app more efficient. Draining less battery.

I hate this app
I hate this. It’s so annoying. I can’t even delete it. It doesn’t let me do anything after 45 minutes. My iPad shuts down so annoying. I just wish I can control it but now and I can’t even delete it and my mom doesn’t even know how to delete it so I’m stuck with it and it deleted on her phone so now she can’t control it.

please read it all! not being mean or anything just my thought, parental control can feel less like “protection” and more like a giant neon sign that says parents don’t trust their own kids to think. Instead of teaching responsibility, it turns the whole relationship into a surveillance system where every click, message, and minute is watched like a prison security camera. If the goal is to raise someone who can make smart choices, constantly spying on them does the exact opposite—it treats them like they’re incapable of learning or growing. It’s basically parents saying, “I’d rather control you than actually talk to you,” which kills honesty because why would anyone be open when they know they’re being monitored 24/7? At that point it’s not guidance anymore—it’s control disguised as care, and it shows more fear and insecurity from the parents than trust in the kid.(the thing is please just give more freedom and when a kid is 13 or above give them more freedom )

UNA VERGÜENZA
. Me he dado cuenta de que esta app tiene un grave problema con los datos de uso, por ejemplo, si yo he usado tiktok 1h, en qustodio pondrá que lo he usado 1h y 30mins, lo he comprobado y demostrado a mis padre, pero no me creen. Pienso que esto está provocando una falta de confianza tanto desde mis padres a mí como de mi a mis padres. Por muchas veces que le haya intentado explicar esto de las apps, ellos nunca me creyeron y siempre creyeron a qustodio, repito, tengo comprobado que añade tiempo de más, aunque puedo llegar a pensar que cuenta el tiempo en segundo plano de la app. Siempre que he intentado explicárselo, y ellos no creerme, mi reacción ha sido un tanto alterada y controlada por la impotencia, y esto hace creer a ellos que estoy desarrollando una cierta adicción a él movil, cuando no sea así, y de hecho, la mayoría de personas de mi edad usan mucho más los dispositivos que yo, pero mis padres siempre han sido muy controladores en ese sentido siempre. Y parecerá que esto no tiene mucha importancia, pero al final del día, si yo he usado el móvil 2h30min, en qustodio puede llegar a poner 4h perfectamente, contando el tiempo en segundo plano (esa es mi teoría), y si por ejemplo tenías un límite de uso de 4h, contando usarlo 2h30min ya se te acaba el tiempo, cuando no debería de ser así. No se que hacer para que me crean y entienda que es una basura de app, AL FINAL, DESDE QUE TENEMOS ESTA APP, ACABAMOS PELADOS Y DISCUTIENDO POR ESTE TEMA MÁS QUE ANTES DE TENERLA (cuando e, objetivo de esto era no tener que debatir más sobre el tema) y está provocando la pérdida de confianza y un ambiente siempre de discusiones. También al tenerla instalada, bloquea y prohíbe ver cualquier vídeo de youtube o en google que esté valorado para más de 12 años, cuando teniendo 17 debería de poder verlo. También muy importante, me he dado cuenta que consume mucha más batería en segundo plano, y ralentiza la velocidad de internet, datos y wifi del móvil. Al final esta app solo acaba quitándote la libertad y alejándote de lo que para cualquier adolescente de esta generación es normal. Cualquiera que esté en mi situación me entenderá.

Ho rinnovato l’abbonamento premium annuale, ma dall’app trovo il suggerimento di passare a premium. Sono quindi costretto ad usare la versione free pur avendo pagato. L’help center è utilizzabile solo dai clienti “premium”, quindi non riesco a risolvere il problema. Il cane che si morde la coda
Pretty bad app
My parents can’t do anything about it but every now and then this app shuts down every single app in my phone for no reason, and claims it’s for my safety. This is irritating as it has also happened when I am using public transport. This app does too much and controls too much and can ruin many social things.
Arnaque pour le prix
Alors pour commencer il est très simple de le désactiver. Le mode restreint s’active sur YouTube et il est impossible à désactiver même si l’âge de l’utilisateur est de plus de 18 ans il reste activé. De plus l’abonnement est de 100€ sur l’application contre 70€ sur le site. C’est plus proche du virus que du contrôle parental. C’est une arnaque pour le prix
Effective, if somewhat crude
I’ll say the app is effective. It does its job, and nothing outright fails to work. The only problem, as someone monitored, is that the search notifications feel somewhat all-or-nothing. Even many benign searches trigger the notification of (x was looking at y), leading to the opposite intended effect where the notification gets ignored. However, this isn’t major. I doubt there’s any good solution to this that doesn’t introduce loopholes. Hence ‘crude’. Heavy, albeit the only good way.
You ruined my life
PARENTS LISTEN TO ME THIS APP MAY SEEM LIKE A GOOD OPTION FOR YOUR CHILDREN BUT ITS NOT IF UOU PUT THIS ON THEIR PHONES/ELECTRONIC THEN WHEN IT SHUTS OFF YOU ARE MAKING THEM MORE DISTINCT TO YOU THAN EVER YOU ARE LITTERALY TAKING AWAY A THING THEY ENJOY ANSND AND MAKES THEM HAPPY DONT DO IT
Not bad !
I am using / testing out the basic free plan for now. Basically, it blocks him from using any apps like games , Safari & YouTube from the time limit I activated to block. His account will also show as Offline which means he’s not using the phone. With paid subscription , I could see in detailed info like which sites he goes to , which games and apps used. With the basic plan, we won’t be able to restrict certain apps we want but still able to block all the Apps and sites as a whole. I’ll See how this goes and might sign up for the aid plan in future!
An other App on a decline
Like many recommended apps, Qustodio is on a decline. Not up to speed with iOS upgrades, now with iOS 15 I can’t activate the app ably longer on a child’s device. WhatsApp is unusable since photo downloads are blocked and the promised remedy is still not working. New apps are slowly added, so the kids just move to new solutions.

Parlo da figlia, Quindi é mia mamma a usare Qustodio. L’app é molto utile ma un difetto é che se il genitore mette il blocco (per es. alle 22.00) il giorno dopo quando il figlio sblocca il telefono le app sono tutte spostate. Forse magari capita solo a me ma mi da fastidio visto che ogni volta mi impegno a mettere tutte le app loro posto

Not an effective Parental Control
My kids are are still able to continue using restricted application i.e. You Tube if they are in the middle of a video but have reached the time limit of the application. The same applies to Microsoft related applications like Microsoft news. Recently, my son downloaded a new game app from IOS Growtopia but it’s not reflected in Qustodio application control! Despite setting time limit on phone overall usage, it is totally useless, as the kids could still use application! Phone screen time take precedence on Qustodio. Quite disappointed as I’ve paid for the premium usage only to find there are lots of loopholes that my kids have taken advantage of.
