Honestly had a great experience with this app so far! We had the pleasure of having Lane as our service provider and he did such a fantastic job. He was careful around all our bonsais, efficient, and very kind! I hope you’re all lucky enough to get him as your provider as well! Thanks again :)
Unreliable
The app kept telling me that we’d be matched with a service provider, sometimes even going so far as to say we’d been matched, scheduled, and that a provider was on the way and then… nothing. I understand that independent providers might mislead the app by accepting jobs they couldn’t complete, but there is no method to address that kind of thing - no attempt to expedite our service with a new provider (given that we were told someone was “on the way” on Tuesday and by Sunday still had no service and our lawn was getting overgrown), no discount on a future service (if someone would ever show up), not even a way to communicate with an actual human to figure out what was going on. We’ve given up trying to spend money through this app!
Provider issues
Outside of the first booking I ever made. I can never get the grass cut on the day specified. The providers are always switching and changing. You’ll get five different people at your house and that’s if they can find someone to cut your grass 10 out of 10 wouldn’t recommend. The only reason they got two stars is because the first guy did so well. But we never seen him again.

I hired a person for an agreed amount to do a backyard cleanup. Before the job was completed he marked it completed and got paid. I had no option to say it was not completed and have sent a lease in the support chat twice now with no response from the support. Now I am out over $200 and still have a yard that needs to be cleaned up. I am a disabled vet and cannot do the work myself. How can the person doing the work approve the work completed and get paid without the say of the person that is paying?
Lots of bugs
Seems like there’s a new update every week because every time I go to take any action on the app it glitches and only works if you update. The only issues is I’ve had to update during almost every use just to get it to function properly.
Easy mowing scheduling
App is easy to use, my job was accepted and completed within a day. I like that the yard guy who accepted my job was background checked. Good communication from yard guy. Plus yard looks great!
Deceitful company, no customer support, no quality assurance
Awful service. Charged me for a mowing service that their provider never completed - sent photos of a different property as proof. Awful customer support. There is no phone number to contact and the chatbot is useless. The “request” function takes forever and the answers you get are idiotic and repetitive. Worst company I have had the misfortune of trusting my credit card information with. Buyers beware!
Not what it promises
I have a hard time receiving services unless I add money to the orders making service unreliable. Most customer service inquiries are met with silence. The chat feature doesn’t work and I’ve never received a response from submitted inquiries..excellent idea. Poor execution. I really wanted it to work..I love the idea of an app and not having another service provider email and payment portal to deal with and the money sounds better but it’s not. I guess for me it back to dealing with the local company’s myself or searching for an app that has more of the kinks worked out. Thank you
Definitely a needed and valuable app!
I was more than pleased with my service and the convenience of using this app, I broke my lawnmower and was not in the mood to purchase a new one currently and lawnguru has come through in the clutch!
Great service in the beginning
It all started out great until you learn that the providers can claim your lawn is overgrown and charge an extra $27 without even discussing it with you. Customer service is slow to respond and slow to react. It’s basically your own fault for using them. Buyer beware. Go with the kid on the corner who wants to do it for you, at least you can talk to a person if there’s a problem. Would not recommend, they take no accountability and can’t even spell the word “refund.”
Great concept, poor execution
Poorly-vetted providers. Providers are given the option to charge you when they say they’re “on the way” and then “release the job.” Then, we’re left without service until another provider accepts the job. We have had some bad providers who either wait until the last minute to cancel, don’t show up at all, or do a half job and call it a day. Find a good local lawnscaper to mow your lawn, if you aren’t going to do it yourself.
Great Customer Service
Lawn Guru is the best! I’ve used them for lawn service and snow removal for years. The service providers have been good and personable. The app makes it easy to communicate with your provider and everything can be done from the app. Sarah, in customer service, is always there if I have a question. I highly recommend!
Unreliable
I’ve been switched to 3 different lawn guys and gone 5 weeks without a mow. I started in May it’s now August did bi weekly and my grass has only been cut 5 times. It’s ridiculous!
App is good communication sucks
The app works fine but good luck getting hold of someone to communicate with. It took them 2 weeks to get back to me and booked my service with the provider for 2027.

Not reliable providers and no help
I’m extremely frustrated with this app. I started using it in May and I signed up for a biweekly Lawn service. Since May it is now August, I believe I’ve only had my service provider come and mow my lawn on time maybe once or twice. It’s a constant struggle with the support team to actually get someone to come and mow my lawn. Especially this last time I’ve been waiting four days for the support team to get someone to come and mow my lawn when it was supposed to be done four days ago. It’s extremely upsetting and frustrating that I feel like the support team is not helping me at all, and the providers are extremely unreliable. I could understand if it was raining or something was preventing them from mowing my lawn, but it hasn’t rained in my area in over a week. I will likely cancel my account and try a different app, but I just wanted to make sure that others were cautious about relying on this app when it is the absolute opposite of reliable.
Overbooked providers
The first time I use this app to get a provider to cut my lawn, the lawn was cut on time. Every time after that, the provider was late. For the current cut it has been three days and my lawn is not cut. On top of that, Lawn Guru will still charge you for the service before the service is even provided. Sending messages through the app or their website are always ignored. You can try Lawn Guru and hopefully it will work for you. However, it is not working for me. I will have to look for another provider.

This app is an easy way to hire scheduled maintenance on your yard. Huge help!
No One Shows
After requesting service, providers will say they will service your property and then never show up.

Taking care of my 90 yr old father-in-law’s house hasn’t been easy. LawnGuru has taken a load off. They’re honest and easy. Every pro they have sent has been great. They even talk to Dad about his hot rods.
Absolutely the WORST
This company employs the worst of the worst. Took my money showed up and the end of the day, mowed in the dark. Missed several spots and ruined my LAWN.!!! Then they had the balls to uncharge me for overgrown lawn after THEY CANCELLED ON ME FOR A FULL WEEK!!
Uber for lawn services!
I was searching high and low for a lawn cutting service that came once a month. I know — cutting the grass once a month? Crazy. I searched all over Google, called so many businesses, and I came across Lawn Guru. They’re affordable and convenient! I love that you can skip services, especially when the season is over. I also love that they have other services! I love that I found Lawn Guru!
Lawn mowing
Very poor service. I signed up for lawn mowing weekly. A guy came once & did not show up for second mowing. No phone call, no text notification. Then I was given a new person who also never showed up, called or texted. The app is still showing that someone is coming every single day since. No one comes. Ridiculous management!
