Best 5e character creater
Been using it for years. Makes characters in less than 5 mins. I always start here and then copy over to a paper sheet. Incredible app.
Unusable
I found it’s almost impossible to edit important parts of the character and doesn’t handle content that isn’t programmed into it yet (race, class etc) in any useful way
Absolutely (almost) perfect
Users of this app know that it is well worth purchasing; I have never regretted paying for this app. As a matter of fact, as dm, I made my players purchase this app as well. It’s just worth it… the only reason this is getting 4 stars is because of the copyright avoiding language, that makes it hard to remember what race you are playing as, in addition the inability to make a custom character sheet from scratch. Again, almost perfect app.
Says Fifth Edition but seems out of date
Created a fighter and a lot of things that are in the players handbook just didn’t seem to exist in the app. Weapon mastery choices at level 1. Choice for origin feat through versatile as a human wasn’t there. Second wind being able to be used multiple times at level 4 vs it saying one in the app. Just a lot of things that didn’t seem correct to me.
Not the same as the android version
I have this app on both the google play store and the Apple Store. Why isn’t the owlin race on both versions and why can’t I level up a character with a custom race? This version is not as good as the other
Great but needs an update
The app is spectacular! But it needs to be updated due to recent changes in classes spells and dnd beyond changes. Would love some of the new stuff including grim books
Does Not Work
After downloading the app, nothing worked. I deleted it.
Good but dated
I like this app a lot, but it would be nice if it was updated with 5e 2024 changes.
Lost Every one of my characters
Broke my phone and had to get a new one, transferred my Apple ID over from the old phone to the new phone I have now and this is the only app that didn’t carry over my information. I had multiple level 15+ characters that are just gone. Yeah I can always try and remake them but they won’t be the same. Not a bad app just take extra preparations for the instance that your phone might break because it won’t transfer over.
Good but still glitchy
Get your basics in an app. It’s pretty well organized, but there should be more options for some homebrew rules (like extra feats). Though this is small it could be significant to your character. My biggest issue is that it will frequently not save. Forcing you to repeatedly add information again and again and again. Easiest fix is to add a save button or option in settings or the menu.
Love
All the players in my current group use D&D beyond and often are having connection issues in the LGS, not me. My sheets are always ready and leveling is accomplished without WiFi.
Sadly Abandoned
This was THE app for nearly a decade, but hasn’t been updated in over 3 years for Apple. My son has an Android phone and reports his version of this same app has all the most recent stuff, but for iPhone users, this is functionally abandoned. Last update seemed to be the Witchlight Carnival or maybe Van Richten stuff… Such a shame, because i adored this app.
Needs fixing
Can’t restore my purchase from before. I’ve already bought this twice on Android and iOS, and not being able to get my license back is a bummer. App is great otherwise
Not worth it
Requires purchase to level up
Needs an update
It needs the new updated characters
Easy and Accurate
This is my go to app to create my characters. Been using it for years now. Just enough things to help but not too much to overwhelm you :)
Kinda buns
No weapons
Update
I’ve been using this app for a very long time and I absolutely love how useful it is. Able to keep track of all my health, perks, spells, etc. without worrying about erasing holes in my paper. With that being said, since there was an update to the game last year (essentially 5.5e), I feel like this app needs an update to reflect those updates.
Drive does not work
I am trying to download my backed up characters. However, drive mentions the app attempts to access sensitive data and denies access to drive. Please fix, i want to keep my 4 year old character sheets
Some issues
It’s a good app if you have a phone with a large screen. But it does not compress for a small screen and a lot of pertinent information gets hedged out. It’s also been I’ve a year since the last update so the designer really needs to figure it out.
Great tool but weird names
Everything is amazing from the quick builder to the fully customizable sheets. It’s also a one time payment instead of a subscription like everything else nowadays. The only speed bump is the names are sometimes changed for copyright reasons but you can usually figure out what it means pretty easy
Keeps crashing
I have the paid version and it’s constantly crashing. I want a refund!! I sent the developer an email
AMAZING! But not current.
If you’re looking to play 2014 rules I personally would say this is the best app to do it, I in fact love this app so much that I’m upsetting that it hasn’t been updated to 2024 rules. I’ll make it 5 stars when it changes
Bruh
I like that app but I can’t upgrade my character if I don’t have the premium stuff
Good so far
Good so far
Still works!
Kinda insane that this app still remembers my previous purchase of premium and I didn’t even have to do any roundabout methods to restore it, overall I am impressed and it’s still usable to this day for making quick things on the fly.
Import / Export characters Broken.
No longer able to import or export characters as its now being blocked by Google. :(
Yes I use it
It’s a good character sheet
Meh
Good character sheet, but I can’t see half my stats due to ads.
Mostly great
It is a great app to have if you want to create new characters and play around with different ways to build your character. Unfortunately it is missing a lot of new elements. No Path of the Giant for Barbarians etc. Would be great if they updated with this info. I can’t think of a time they have update though, since getting this app 6 or so years ago.
Great for airplane mode or deployments
Listen I love the simplicity of this app no major flash just a good solid app. The gripes there are a metric classes and races out there k wish this app had been updated regularly to reflect the evolving world.
iPhone bug
Pages don’t fit on the screen of my iPhone following latest upgrade
Helpful App
I overall am happy with the app. It has a bit of personal overreach though. The permissions needed to access all person files on Google for exports are way to extreme for any application. Please create an export that has the ability to download without such nonsense.
Used to be so good...
...and it now crashes constantly, deleting your progress, and doesn’t allow you to copy and paste any more. Disappointing. Fix, please.
Great app. Won’t export.
App is awesome. The app will however not allow me to export to my Google drive. It receive an error message. No way around it.
Balling
This is a good app.
Levelling characters is behind a paywall
They recently put levelling your character behind a paywall. Makes this unusable as a free app.
Wonderful !
This is a wonderful app that is priced well. It could be a little more robust and easier to make custom items/spells but otherwise this this is a godsend for those who don’t want to waste a tons of paper to continue printing character sheets.
Lack of Khenra AND Vampire
In this app we don’t get Khenra nor Vampire as playble races, I hoje this is fixed. And for being a better app, we could have encounter calculator and other DM tools, as monster information and monster sheet.
Missing Subclass
Purchased this app specifically to create a Path of the Giant Barbarian - Can confirm the book Bigby Presents Glory of the Giants has not been added :( Besides that genuinely a great app
Worth the price
The app is absolutely worth the price. The only thing I’d like is if the updated the apple version to have the mordenkainen racial variants that the android version has. The android version even has the owlin race from Strixhaven. Of course it’s all generic names so they don’t get sued. Just would like a little love for the apple users.
Waste Of Money!
This app is absolutely trash. Constantly crashes and doesn’t save anything. Worst app I’ve ever had. Deleted.
Streamlines char creation
Would love it if you could revert to a previous level in case you botched it Otherwise incredibly useful
Can’t access stats
The layout is crap on here, the ads block content and there is no way to scroll to see them. Or when you swap between pages the start overlapping each other.
Good, but
Whenever I try to level up to tells to get it ad free. But it doesn’t give me an ad or level my character up. Other than this character sheets have a lot
Love this app
I love this app so much I have all my players use it and we pay the sub it’s worth it trust. But I would love to see some of the monster races (kobold skeleton mimics etc) and the new classes (pugilist and reanimater) other then that the app is absolutely perfect
Crashes and I lose it all
Every time I try to create and save a character the app crashes and all the date is gone. This is extremely frustrating. The rest of my party have no troubles and use the app regularly. I’m on iPhone. Why is the app crashing?
It’s a great dnd character app but one thing I’d like
I can say that this is a great app for all that fun character creation but one thing I would love to see is the gunslinger sub class for the fighter
Too rigid, impossible to truly customise
Playing a one off game starting at 6th level? This app cannot help. Only useful for a long term, starting from 1st level character that follows every rule in the book. Can’t customise hit points, can’t not choose a background etc etc. Good for beginners, not much use to old hands.
It’s just okay.
Pretty easy to use. But needs more custom options, like adding Feats without being Lv4. Some other things that don’t show properly like using Unarmed Fighting, it only shows up as 1d6, even though it’s supposed to be 1d8 if you aren’t using weapons/shields.
