What people like
- The storyline is engaging and exciting.
- You can play without spending any money.
- It feels like a solo D&D game.
- Writing is funny and very addictive.
What they complain about
- Choices don't actually change the story.
- The app crashes frequently on launch.
- Ads interrupt you constantly while playing.
- Art looks like it was made by AI.
Love this!
Pretty awesome story and super addictive!
Spam machine
Despite the claims of the developer, this app is full of AI slop content & artwork and pops up spam ads very frequently. I can’t imagine trying to charge anyone $20 for an ad free version of this when minimal human effort was put into the design.
Good start
Good beginning storyline wish there was a DM voice over reader to enhance the feeling of being led thru your campaigns
The newest sections are written with AI
Rogue’s Choice and Wizard’s Choices were great, but the Ranger’s Choice was clearly written by AI. It goes on and on and on, stringing the player along with an interminable mystery and cliche phrases that an AI uses. Lots of descriptions and vague words by the characters, and the “a beat” phrasing in response to surprise by characters just gives this all away. Not to mention that the Ranger’s Choice series hasn’t been finished after four or more years. Don’t invest money into this.
Great game but
The first chapter was brilliant but the game simply will not allow me into any of the others, I have purchased premium but the game just crashes when trying to load into any of the other chapters
Quite enjoyable
So far having a blast.
Overpriced railroad
Decisions hardly matter. Used to be free about a decade ago, but is now 20 dollars to unlock all content.
Great game but update has problem.
The recent update appears to have deleted the 42 coins I’d been saving for purchasing future chapters. Is there any way I could get them back? Anyways, great game, love the lore, keep it up!
Endings Are Mid
I like the concept but the ending to the wizards choice and demons choice novels were both very anticlimactic. Spoilers below. The main issue is that the build up plot and ending of each had a completely different vibe - for example, who plays as a demon to randomly get purified at the end and turned into a child. Or, play as a wizard and suddenly you’re in high school at the end? Concept is great but needed to stay consistent at the end.
Stuck
Hi there. I have not been playing your game for very long, but I think I have incountered a bug. I've just seen the eye of the creature looking at me through the keyhole of the northern door and it's given me the options as you'd exspect. But the trouble is I can't select the option I want to go for. It just says "What do you do." But it doesn't give me the options after that to click on. Please fix ASAP.
A great time!
Funny and engaging. Took me back to my Choose Your Own Adventure days, but with some added RPG fun. Loving it!
Pay for all
As soon as I got in the game and it gave me five energy, so that ran out after literally less than five minutes I tried making me buy the subscription
Good storyline and interactive play
First time reading/playing this kind if game. Good fun. Intriguing.
Disappointed
I downloaded this app thinking you could make your own custom campaigns. Only to see that you can’t and are limited to premade campaigns with premade characters. Definitely not the app to play custom online campaigns unless something changes.
Good but with an impasse
It’s good but I’ve got to a bit where I can’t get any further in the game. And I can’t find tips or a walkthrough for it.
Great game
I have never played anything DND related and i really like this. I like how you dont have to pay for important things and instead you earn it. I do wish I could create my own story and character but otherwise its amazing
Good start, then downhill
Was fun, entertaining and then the ads started.
Fun interactive fiction, crashes occasionally
It is fun interactive fiction, good writing and good art. Unfortunately, it crashes for me between chapters and I have to restart.
Please.. More coin
The luck system works just fine, but its very hard to collect enough coin for a chapter
Far Better Than Anticipated
I thought this might turn out to be a bit flimsy, contrived, lazy… but no, no, and no. This is quite good. I’m addicted. You don’t have to spend anything to play - as a natural consequence, there are periodic ads. If you end up liking it as much as I do, you’ll make the one-time payment to shut those off like I did. Great game!
Dungeons and misunderstanding at best
I really like the concept of decision based storytelling. That’s why I picked this up. However, then the experience went as hilariously bad as i think it could’ve. Ads seem to earn you gold, which you need to unlock the other stories. So once you buy ad free ($5) you earn no gold… and then have to watch ads to earn gold and unlock content. Note there are 2 completely separate gold values. I didn’t realize this. so when i bought ad free i thought that at worst I would have to replay the unlocked content to earn more gold with my decisions in the story. Ok, cool, encourage me to play the story again to see how decisions affect the story. Your decisions do not affect the story. The gold earned in the story is different from the gold you need to buy content. The art is almost certainly ai.
First Chapter
The first chapter was pretty good. I wish it had an automatic reader so I could do other things while go through it.
Great RPG to read
I really enjoy this interactive reading RPG. So many different choices as well as stories. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys d&d to give this a try.
Decisions don’t matter
This game is way more linear than you’re led to believe. It’s riddled with false choices. “Do you want to open the door or walk away?” “You opted to walk away but your sidekick opened the door” It’s lazy writing. Your choices don’t actually matter. The game is very low quality.
Very enjoyable
This game is simple to learn but fun, a lot of fun.
First time now RETURNING player
Still good 😊 I really like the adventure so far and there are some unexpected surprises that I enjoy, and it gives me that book vibe like you have to keep going even though you should really be asleep 😆
kinda weird
this game was made for dudes. you play as a middle aged man and he watches a girl sleep and thinks about how cute her nose must be after her whole family just died, you say how lucky it is she isn’t sniffling or being loud when she demands to join you, and they only describe the women and their ‘shapely necks’ and necklaces between their bosoms. there hasn’t been a single description of a man haha, just keep this in mind if you want to play this
Understand the need for pay for content but it’s still frustrating
Fun game. First Rougue chapter had great story telling and choices.
I love it! But…
First of all, great! I paid for the full version, well worth it! More illustrations would be wonderful. But even without them, it’s still well worth it!
Ghetto
Broken. Doesn’t go beyond first screen.
A fun way to read a story
This is a 5 star choose your own adventure story, but not an RPG, so 4 stars. Still a fun way to spend an evening dad and son.
Great game
It’s a great game with such amazing storytelling!
Nothing here
Died not even five minutes later into playing. How is that fun? Slop app at its finest
Cool app
I really like this app! I’ve been a Dungeons & Dragons player since the 1980s And don’t have the chance to play too often. This is nice because it gives you a solo adventure. In a lot of the same ways, Dungeons & Dragons does. It’s not quite as open world, but the stories are pretty cool and I enjoy the challenge.
Amazing!
Great storyline and plenty of excitement awaiting the outcome of your decisions along the way!
Does not work at all
Loading screen went to black screen. Eventually it crashed. Opened again. Still stuck on the black screen. Did they even have a QA team?
Review
Really good game! Enjoyed playing!
