Terrible app
They post jobs every day but nothing’s ever over 50 I spoke with the customer and they told me they paid 125 so they get half of our hard earned money while we get a little Lil sorry doesn’t see it right at all. Not to mention some of the clients can lie and say you didn’t do a job at all when you have the before and after pictures and they take their word over. I would advise any and everyone not to download and work with this app. There are other and better ones out here.
Job previews
The app is definitely super helpful for starting out, but the thing I think would be super helpful for all pros would be if yall would attach photos of the actual property by the customer the day they requested a service, instead of a satellite view, so that your not guessing what your getting into or super high unexpected grass upon arrival. It would prevent people from either dropping the job or submitting a new requested quote for super tall grass because most likely the “new mowing” jobs will be all over the place with weeds and clearly an unmaintained lawn. (Atleast in my experience)
18+
For anyone under 18 who is trying to start their own lawn business this app asks 20 questions and takes at least 35+ minutes of you time just to say right before you can take jobs that you have to be at least 18.
Notifications not working
I have had this app for three months and the notifications still don’t work. I have been through my iPhone and adjusted all appropriate settings to allow for notifications to include texts and emails. The app has these options as well but regardless, I only receive emails. This needs to be addressed asap.
Great for new businesses
This app is great at getting your foot in the door. When I started my business I was able to use lawnstarters and it helped tremendously. I no longer use them because they have very low pricing for my area. But it will help you get your foot in the door if you’re just starting off!!
Permanently Banned
Permanent ban as soon as I signed up for solicitation and threatened 6000 dollar fine and I didn’t even leave my pjs
Nice app
I like it but my not be for the common man
Lawncare
I been running on this app for 6 years ! Now it’s definitely trash !
No Soliciting
The app is great fot meeting people but a lot of customers ratger just work with me instead of thru the app but apparently we cant tell them about our actual business because we will be fined $5000 a person which i dont think is fair, for the customer or pro, ive been with the app two months and i dont great job on each visit only to get paid $30 some yards take hours and for that little pay it doesn’t add up! I charged a customer $100 for weeding and the app makes the customer pay $140 what type of stuff is that. Thanks for the opportunity but i take my business too serious to continue to use
Dos 2 Guys
This is my 1st week and this app allowed me to accept 10 projects in less than a week looking forward to seeing them help grow us into a better way of doing business.
Tip baiting
They allow customers to remove tips that you have already received in payouts from several weeks before. Then they deduct from your current payouts.
Subpar
I would be great if they made the clients pay a last minute cancellation fee to help offset gas and unserious clients. I have had 2/3 clients “cancel” after I knocked on their door for service.
It’s ok
I’ve been utilizing this app for a month now it’s not too bad to fill in empty spots. The pay rate is 50% lower than what my company charges on average. Currently dealing with a property from them, customer originally paid for 13k sqft area with a pay of $47, but customer requested a total area 32k sqft and it’s two commercial buildings. Lawnstart updated the service area and took the pay from $47 per 13k sqft to a whopping $50 dor 32,000 sqft. I wish the app was more user-friendly and broke down earnings and payouts a little bit better. They need to update their pricing method with clients. Especially when average acre to mow is $100-$120 minimum. Ran into a few unhinged clients, they show you why they don’t have a dedicated Landscape company. But for the most part, the customers are OK,
Good app
Great for just getting started
Cheap
The amount of grass you have to cut just for a 39$ payout is insane. People are definitely lying about the yard size, or LawnStarter is taking a huge cut! Be warned. These are not “starter” projects, it’s the real deal football field and the payout is dirt, dirt cheap. If you hire a 2nd group and split it. You’ll have $15-20 each for 50 yards of grass. - expenses (gas for tools - $10)(car gas - $20) minimum. You do the math. Negative.
No notifications
This app could easily been one of the top performing service, providing apps. However, this app has a major flaw, it does not send notifications when jobs are available. I miss out on hundreds of jobs and opportunities. When I called the helpline, the only thing they could tell me was the uninstalled and reinstall the app. I’ve done that four times still doesn’t work.
Cutting is easily!!
Just wish that lawnstarted didn’t take such of big percentage off of every cut!!
Super helpful for starters
If you’re just opening your business, this app makes it SUPER easy to get properties and get money. The payouts aren’t as much as they should be and the cancelation/completion formulas are rigged to not let us get a higher level… but you get money regardless.
Worst app of all time
Customer lie about there lawns. Got kicked off the app no one call tell me why
Professional
As a professional landscaper, etc. the pay out for these gigs are just sooo low. I like to app just wish they would payout what the jobs be truly worth. 0.016 acres is not small so at least pay out $65 for front and backyard for a basic cut.
Payout
According to the Lawn Starter support I am supposed to receive payout every Monday. Now they are telling me to wait 24hrs to 48 on a Wednesday. So is there different payout dates now?
Cool
This app is awesome I love it I’m so thankful for all the work this app provides
No good.
Doesn’t get back to you or help you figure things out Then suspends your account cause you emailed them
The new update
The new update is trash no good it was better the way it was now u have to go in day by day to look for your upcoming jobs and if you wanna schedule them accordingly it would take forever don’t like at all
Great App
Wonderful way to make some extra money if you’re dedicated to it! I love it
False advertisement
I ran across this jobs lead app on social media. I read some of the comments and asked questions. One comment stood out…the app will make it appear as if jobs are available until you give it your banking info and then poof. And that’s my exact experience. The bank access isn’t just for direct deposit. They basically get to watch all your transactions. The app also pushes to have your background location services turned on 24/7. If that doesn’t scream “we are selling your data” then I don’t know what else does. That’s my experience and my opinion is it is junk and borderline a scam.
Fills in the gaps
If You have spaces in your work calendar, you can pick up extra jobs via Lawnstarter.
Providers: DO NOT Trust this company
LawnStarter deactivated my account without warning, without investigation, and without ever giving me a chance to explain my side. Years of solid work meant nothing to them. Had to go through the Better Business Bureau just to get any response — their support is otherwise unreachable. This company treats the people who do the actual work as disposable in an instant. If you’re a provider considering this platform, know this: they will cut you loose instantly with zero accountability. Do not trust them to have your back.
New update
Terrible, not efficient
Horrible app
I’ve been using this app for years now and one day mysteriously my account gets disabled and they tell me they can’t help me or escalate the situation or even tell me why it happened. What a slap in the face for real loyal workers
Quick tip from a pro
Your should give us a hr department option so we can have a dedicated place to see what houses are closer and move and change them around as we all know gas is pretty high
Spare yourself, do not use
The app is poorly constructed and not well thought out. This causes issues that you as a pro will be blamed and penalized for. If your area isn’t full of jobs then their punitive “pause” on your account is effectively a permanent ban. Once your account is paused, you will be unable to accept new jobs until you completed 5 jobs. Not sure how that’s possible. Then out of the blue I get an email from their legal department threatening a $5000 lawsuit, but zero details. Please spare yourself the time and frustration of dealing with this company and app.
