More than half your creators make the medium puzzles ridiculously hard while the easy ones are for retards.

Feels like a joke. The app itself is fine but the greed is beyond comprehension.
Puzzles can't load
$35 and half the puzzles on the last set were unable to load, with a message to contact the help desk. Nope.
Becoming frustrated
Decent variety and levels of games. Recently, since last update Tasty Treats ad locks up and I have to close the app to get back to a new puzzle.
Love these puzzles
I like the medium puzzles because they are just tough enough to make me think but not so hard that I have to admit defeat.

I quit playing this one because the ads always lock up or last forever. They used to work right, play through and then move on.
Pretty good, very british
I'm an american so some of the questions about british culture I can't really answer, since I don't know them! Ofc I like expanding myself but it's a little annoying that I basically have no chance of knowing without just seeing it :P There's not really a fix for this but it's more of a warning to other americans I guess lol! If you watch a lot of british TV or something like that you'll probably have a better time :^)
weird shaped puzzle
I’ve been playing this for a while and it’s been perfectly fine, pretty fun! until I moved on to a new section and one of the “midi” puzzles was shaped like a $w@st1ka !!! I will be deleting this game if this isn’t taken down!
Decent
Good game lots of puzzles and challenging, bit of ads easier and faster just to close the app and reopen instead of waiting for ad to finish and am not paying $50 for no ads 🤣 other then that good game and app.
Really great interface, so easy and pleasant to use
This is one of the finest interfaces I have ever worked with, and the puzzles are really good quality and some are difficult enough to make them fun. Can also be played off-line with no ads.
Ads block letters
Great app until banner blocked letters to make it unplayable
Mostly great!
It’s great, super easy to navigate and challenging puzzles. However, on Vol 3 of the easy puzzles, the hint says pirouette and the answer is spin, when it should really be turn because that’s what is considered correct in the dance world. Other than that, it’s fantastic!
Insidious ads to get access to devices is just wrong
Kind of enjoyed the Hard puzzles and tolerated the ads until there was an “ad” that said my device was hacked and the only way to “fix” it was to download a clean up app. Could only get back to puzzles by closing the xword app and reopening it. This “ad” now shows up every time after a puzzle. So I am done with this app. And I suspect that the offer of paying $49.99 for “lifetime” access is an out and out lie.
Decent
Decent puzzles, not enough variety in writers. Same 10 people, some of whom aren't very interesting. They use the same words repetitively.
relatively ad free, the ones there are aren't intrusive
any ads that appear are only before or after you start a game, and the games can take quite a bit but your mileage may vary depending on how good you are at these. the ads are also somewhat uncommon and usually short and skippable which is a real treat for a free game, there's an option to pay 35 dollars for ad-free gameplay which is a somewhat large amount for a phone game, but understandable as there's not much you can monetize here, which is really charming. it's very simple and unobtrusive, with a huge amount of puzzles of varying difficulties to play, 5/5.
Please stop the woke messaging
Please develop a screen function to block authors with a cause. I just don’t want to be indoctrinated by puzzles. I really like the game. I’ve solved a few hundred. I pay by watching the ads. But now I have ten authors I no longer use, ie, his and his gift registry and black activist names. I can’t remember who not to pick when I search for a new pack. I’m not whining. It’s a free country. You do you. Just don’t teach me to be you. I’m not a phobe. I just want to solve puzzles without broadening myself. Thank you if you can help.

I would pay for the premium version if they fixed the feature where it sends you back to the first page if you click on a crossword while searching. Very annoying…!
Too many errors
App is fine, however puzzles too often have words made up, incorrectly defined relating hints, or over use of abbreviations.
Ads are too long
The ads are understandable but compared to most other ad-sponsored games, these are way too long. I just set the phone aside rather than actually taking note of other games ads that only take ten seconds or so.

I love crossword! I love how it challenges you to think and you also learn from it! It’s also a fun way to spend the afternoon!
Horrible clues
Most of them are really bad clues you kind of shake your head at how they came up with that kind of a clue to get the answer needed most of them just make absolutely no sense.

Enjoy the app however the repetitive request to spend $34.99 for no ads is ridiculous. Would rather pay a reasonable purchase price upfront

Could Be Better
In like the app other than it repeatedly locks up and the only way to advance to a new puzzle is to shut down my iPad Pro and then restart. Combine this with the ads that are nearly impossible to skip…. sadly I think it’s time to try a new app.

Ad is jamming
Arrowscape ads on this crossword app have jammed for several days now. They do NOT resolve and allow one to return to a puzzle. I’ve let it go for 1 HOUR & it never ended or offered to “x” out & return to play. They really need a slap to their system.
Lots of options, stupid clues/answers
I’m not sure where these puzzles are sourced but they’re quite repetitive (which I can forgive) but there are soooo many clues that are just completely nonsensical. They’re actually not clues, just vague suggestions? Like “Palindrome, 6 words” is just 6 words that make no sense put together as a palindrome.

**REVIEW UPDATE: I reinstalled the app, which fixed the problem of completed puzzles appearing. Not sure if I’m replaying previously completed puzzles, but at least able to play again. Rating updated from 2 to 4 stars.** Used to be good. But as others have stated, they “updated” the app a while back that caused all previously completed puzzles to now show up again as playable. It wouldn’t be bad if there was an easy option to simply clear the puzzle, but there’s not. Only option is to archive it, again. Then you’re forced to watch another ad before “trying” another puzzle. Found several completed sets in a row. So now I’m deleting this app, and moving on.

Quick to Play. Clever Clues
Makes it easy to find where the answers go. Hard enough to make you chuckle but not intent on stumping you completely. Everything is geared toward Relaxing mind exercise. Very satisfied
Easy not easy
Horrible. These are not easy. Sometimes you just want something to help you drift off to sleep, or give your mind simple distraction. If I wanted a challenging crossword puzzle, I would’ve selected medium or hard. An easy crossword puzzles should take no longer than 10 or 12 minutes. I’ve done some easy crosswords in as little as six minutes. This isn’t one of them.
Endless challenges
I use this app almost every day and enjoy the variety and good interface. It really deserves more stars but I wish for one feature - when I reopen the app, load up the puzzle I was last working on. It seems to do that if I get back in within 15 minutes but anything longer, I need to find the last puzzle again. Otherwise, I recommend this highly.
great puzzles but ads….
The ads are super annoying -they’re really long and cannot be skipped until you've watched the entire thing either. And $34.99 for ad-free version is just ridiculous.
OK, Some Iffy Puzzles
App is OK. Puzzles often are too USA-centric, requiring knowledge of their sports teams, for example. Also, I really wish there was a way to hide certain puzzle authors permanently. For example, I just cannot stand R. Stears puzzles and their over-reliance on bad wordplay. App has external links to discussions supposedly, but they all go to Facebook. No, thanks.
my fave app
i have the paid version of this app and it’s the best thing for winding down after a long day or killing time. the puzzles are challenging and fun. i’ve found myself becoming fans of certain puzzle makers as well. you know what else i love about this app? it doesn’t hide the clock on your phone. i hate that other games do that!
Waste of time
The clues are horrible. I have played several levels and the clues are awful.

Puzzles are great and plentiful. This game loses a whole star for a way overpriced ad-removal option of $34.99. That’s like charging $20 to add pepperoni to your cheese pizza. I’d pay $5. Get over yourself.

Guys! The ads!
I don’t want to pay the nearly-$50 to go ad free, so I understand that you’re going to sell space to advertisers. Fine. So, maybe you don’t feel comfortable telling advertisers what they can run or how long their ads can be; but when Royal Whatever starts a 60 or even 90 second spot, it isn’t their app I close - it’s yours. If you’re okay with that, then keep doing what you’re doing.

More often than not I close the app before I even get a chance to play. The length of the ads are way too long.

Great game for winding down, not scrolling your brain cells away. One suggestion would be to make alternate controls to navigate puzzle ie: directional pad
Mostly okay
Saying two words without the number of letters in each is a bit odd. I can’t tell which country the author is from, so spelling can be dodgy, and they want words that don’t exist in Australia. Some of the stupidest clues and answers I have ever seen in cross words. I persisted with many different authors, but I’m finally tired of consistently stupid clues and answers.
Two cents
Enjoyable overall, but the more recent crosswords feel rather niche and outdated. Asking about an actor from a particular show that ended in the 1900s. Or using a word which saw popularity around 1880. These are being asked from the medium level crosswords. I notice this particularly from the author H. Estes. Maybe I’m just too young for the intended target audience but it definitely drives me away from the app and makes me want to look for entertainment elsewhere. Obviously I want the crosswords to be challenging, but if the only way I can solve it is through searching up answers online (for the medium level difficulty mind you), then I guess this particular crossword app is just not for me.
