Wonderful app! Keep it going!
Battery hog 🪫
Iphone gets very hot and drains battery while playing offline on background. Iphone 13/ iOS up to date
Great Free Audio Books!
These are great audio books. I totally enjoy listening to them. The ones I have listened too were clear and the audio was great. Thanks to all the readers who take the time to record the audiobooks. Your service is sincerely appreciated. Thank you LibriVox for providing such a great service.
Books
I personally don’t like older books and there are only older books on here from what I see and I like newer books so please add some newer books
D Gaw
When it works, it is fine. The app itself fails to work often. It really does suffer from bugs. Would. Be worth paying for if new content added and app bug free.
Perfect
So glad I found this. I love using this app for spoken books on long walks or road trips. It can take you to another place.
What happened?
App no longer works after last iPhone update
New listener
Just getting used to how the app works. Somehow I opened chapter 25 when I hadn’t finished chapter 3. Found my way back.
My review
I’ve been looking for an app to listen to maze runner on for a while, and I saw this and thought “I’ll try this one!” So I downloaded the app and went to the search bar- there was no maze runner. It’s mostly old books that I have no interest in reading and they have almost no current books.
The variety, the voices
I love all the book options. I don’t love all of the readers. Books are easy to download and return to after a break.
Truly amazing!
This app is SO amazing! Here are the reasons I love it so much: There is only 1 book I listen to (the wizard of oz) and I listen to it JUST to put me to sleep and man oh man does it do its job! I fall right to sleep in the matter of one chapter! The cool this is, when you turn it on, you can turn your phone off and it will still play so if you fall asleep it will finish the book, then stop. Since your phone/computer is allready shut off, the battery is kept and it will not move on to another book. You jave the choise to read or listen to the book of your pick. I love how calm and sleepy the person who reads the wizard of oz is and some other books also. I truly suggest, you wont be disipointed!
Extremely limited options
What kind of audiobook app doesn’t have the frickin Harry Potter books
Amazing app but more modern books
Great
Aggravated
It’s got lot of options and great books. Only problem is most of the books only let you listen to around chapters 3-5 then just randomly stop and refuse to play anymore. One book I had to skip all of chapter one and it stopped again at chapter four. Even if it’s downloaded it doesn’t make a difference. And if you try to stream before downloading it won’t play until you download delete stream then the stream cuts off soon after it starts. Not really worth the time unless you like listening to the beginning when it starts getting good then going to a new book.
Great but
here lately some of my books in my library are hidden.
Great free app
Works great some glitches with formatting when you go to details of the book it goes to books higher on the list and the description is one letter on each line. Also sometime when it reads at the end of the section it cuts off the last 15 seconds I guess to say who’s reading it. But bring free books to the masses with that can be read to them is great for people that likes to listen more then read and young people who can benefit most from this.
Don’t buy it
This is trash it barely has any kids fantasy books in it
books
books but is there any way to stop it getting on the lock screen? And for some reason I can’t scroll down in my books.
Simple and easy but,
It’s a great app for all classic novels. And the e books an added addition to u can read along with them. The only thing is doesn’t seem to be maintained any longer. The audios don’t play automatically one after the other, u have to continuously start the next chapter and it constantly skips chapters. I put up with it as I like the fact it’s free.
Good free app
I like this app because I cannot afford Audible or Kindle books. It is great that people volunteer their time and effort to read ! Some of the reading is very good, some not so good; but I am thankful for their efforts! I like that I can do other things and listen. You won't find new books here, but that is fine. I have found books by authors like Grace Livingston-Hill, Jules Verne, etc. and some were books that I had never read or heard of! It is an adventure and I am so glad this app is available and is improving all the time. I do recommend it.
Love this app
This app is totally free and gives you access to books that would be hard to find otherwise. I love the children’s versions of Shakespeare and Ancient Greek myths. There is everything from Celtic fairy tales to African folk stories, classics, biographies, philosophy, essays—you name it. I’ve had this for years and use it all the time.
Terrible app
I really thought this app could’ve done a better job of bringing in good books but it couldn’t it was all 1920 books that have old English and they are retarded I would like to see them bring a newer books for newer readers
Good
It only has old times books, but I love anne of green gables! i love that everyone has a differnet voice!! nice job LB
Anonymous
This was a okay app but it did take a long time to load the book to listen to them and if you have some certain restrictions you can't read the book there also is not a big variety of book for kids that they are familiar to.
Its okay
Because all the books are free of copyrights, they are mostly old. The readers are volunteers so it’s hit and miss on the readers. However, there are some very good episodes that are great for long drives or for helping you go to sleep
Update
The application is due for an update. It has been having some issues with loading errors.
Ebooks
Not great I carnt seem to find a book they are from like the 1800s it's awful to be honest
Enjoying the App
I enjoy this free app because I am able to still find titles that intrigue me.
Best app ever until new iOS
Never had any problems with this app until I upgraded to new iPhone. And app support is nothing. Really miss this app.
I can’t find the book I want
There is no Harry Potter books 😭
A good for humanity
The positive impact that an app like Loyal Books has, is the kind that just doesn’t get measured by GDP. Audiobooks are an amazing invention and thank you Loyal Books for making so many historic texts available to us for free. Although the narrators of some of the books can surely do better, the nobility of this effort alone merits 5 starts.
Horrible for my kids
When I first looked at it. It actually looks like a kids reading app. But when I went on THERE WAS NOTHING FOR KIDS and the only "kid books" they had weren’t even friendly. It would be awesome if u add books like warriors by Erin hunter Diary of a whipy kid and the babysitters club Thank u Overall I think 🤔 this is a STUPID APP plz don’t get this game
Needs more current books
Needs some more current books but I liked some that they did have.
How to play continuously?
Just started my first book, and so far so good. No crashes (as earlier reviews indicated). Good reader voices/speed. Only complaint is that you have to manually select each chapter. The reading stops at the end of each chapter. I checked sleep timer - it is off. Is it possible for the chapters to play continuously ?
Great!
Just a wonderful resource
App Keeps Crashing
I have searched for hours for an app that would run on my older iPod Touch (that won't upgrade any higher than 6.1). I was hopeful when I found this app but after downloading and trying to play several different audiobooks, I found that the app would just crash. So disappointed. :-(
Nice app love it but......
Ok I love this app but when I am off the internet it won’t let me go through the browse and look for books so I don’t like that but if you have some books you have in your library then you can listen to them off line so I do like that. Thanks for reading this bye
Incomplete
The discover section and genre section are pretty useless at current time. However you can still use search for author, title, or keyword.
The best app ever!
This app is a dream come true! I downloaded this app, after searching for some free audio books. I had no idea what I had really found. Hundreds of classics! The ads are tucked down at the bottom of the page. I didn’t even notice them after a day or two. GET THIS APP!
Meh
It's a good app but all the books on there are books from like the 1900s and the 1800s and once your on a book I don't know how to get off it
Great resource we use all the time
We are very thankful for this app. Over the past few years my 14 year old has listened to many many classics while washing the dishes. In fact, all my children have used this app. The 4 stars only are because after I change the font size for my younger reader, the font size does not stay changed when I scroll to another section of the book and come back.
Amazing
Amazing
I wish.....
I wish that you can read and audio at the same time, but besides that really good app.
