Best app for scanning receipts
Deceptive billing
OCR and reporting works great. However I ran into a scam / deceptive billing with the limits. I purchased a subscription and there is a limit on the number of documents you can scan and then they want more per scan after that. I screen shot the billing page where no limits are listed, the limits are buried in the fine print and in the faqs. Given this is useless for my use case, I contacted support and they know it’s a scam “we don’t issue refunds for any reason” Stay away from this company/ app if you need to do any sort of volume processing.
Was five star
I’ve used this program for years and has been really a great program, but recently it consistently screws up the categories and the vendors and then it’s to change the vendor, major glitch!!!

I did not know that there is a subscription. That should be stated clearly. So, how do I cancel my free trial? It’s a great app otherwise.
Downgraded for terrible support
UPDATE 6-13/2025: (not so good) I am not sure if this coincides with the name change from IQBoxy to Veryfi, but the support is basically non-existent. I have had data corruption issues since Aug 2023 causing me to loose 20% of my receipts. After months of no resolution I am informed there is a “development freeze” with no guarantee the issue will be resolved and I am offered last month’s payment refunded. A 10-year paying customer and they offer me $5.99 back? First off, a development freeze should have no impact on supporting a paying customer on production code. I have been in hardware and software support for over 30 years. We had freezes all the time but we still support the production environment and our customers. It is a shame as the core app is excellent but without support it’s useless. Also, give us a phone number and a real person to talk to. At minimum a customer service portal where we can submit and track our issues My ORIGINAL REVIEW when they were IQBoxy. (It still applies) I am an app addict and I can say with confidence that this is the best receipt app that I have used, and I have tried a lot! I have completely replaced my bulky and inconvenient NeatReceipts setup. No more stuffing my receipts in my wallet, pocket or glove box until I can sit down at the laptop, unwrinkle my receipts and feed them through the scanner one at a time. That is if I can find all the old receipts and they hadn't faded so much I can't scan them. Now I just snap a photo of receipt and throw it away before I even step foot out of the store. Better yet I have setup my receipt email address to iqBoxy at stores that email receipts. This way I don't even need to snap a pic. Then in my leisure (waiting in line at Dutch Brothers for a coffee), I launch IQBoxy verify the receipt and fill in the tags. With my Rules I have set much of this is also done. The app is not perfect but none are. The reason I give it 5 stars even though it is not perfect is that they are very responsive to my requests and implement fixes and features quickly. One feature that would be nice is if the tag search and tag add were combined into one entry. If you keyed in a tag that was not already defined, the app would ask you if you would like to add it. Kudos IQBoxy!

Recent technical issues
I have used this app since about 2019 and was initially quite impressed, and in many ways, still am with what they do, however, if you are small, one does not receive any customer service when there are technical issues. I’ve been having issues since January (reported again since last year) with repeating bank feeds after reconciliation and issues with failed reports. Thus all the reports fail to generate and they have not resolved the duplicating feeds. So guess I need to give up on them.
Good product for Tracking money flow
The product strength is the ability to capture receipts and payments in a single spot and analyze the receipts against budgets. Where I have seen a recent issue is the ability of the algorithm to identify expense types. For example, I have going to the same restaurant for years with it being classified as a meals expense. Now, the same restaurant is matching to something completely different and I need to manually edit it.
Way overpriced
This is ridiculously expensive. Maybe worth it for businesses but for someone just wanting simple receipt storage/management there’s way more affordable options.
Best receipt scanning app
This is probably one of the best receipt scanning apps out there. It has pretty much everything that one would want from receipt organizing apps. Recently though, i had issues. When scanning receipt, it scans but when processing it simply disappears.
The best expensive app I’ve used.
This app does a better job parsing the line items and meanings of the text in my receipts then any other app I’ve used.
Poor quality app
Tags stop adding up correctly. You pick the timeframe and it will add your tag totals to completely wrong figure for that timeframe. Scanning of receipts doesn’t work all the time. Not a good quality app.

Every update makes this app worse
App used to be amazing but they update it almost very week and they’re adding things no one wants. I’ve had to reinstall the app three times now after they FORCE an update just so it can actually scan and upload using cellular data. It’s frustrating because my sales team complains about all the glitches and bugs.
Works sometimes
I have just been trying this app out, and I like the concept but I don’t find that it’s reliable. I just have the starter version, but the camera takes a picture before I have it properly centered. After doing several pictures and deleting them because they weren’t picking up the tips that I paid at a restaurant, it told me that I couldn’t scan anymore because it was a starter version. the Help files say that there’s a way to turn off the automatic camera but the bottom line is I only got two receipts recorded before I ran out of tries available.

Totals
The app isn’t adding the totals for each vendor or category after applying the filters, but other than that it’s still a decent app. Now every tome I click on it to sort the vendors the app crashes.
Great App! Especially for Family Budgeting
I have been using the app for the 14 day trial and it has been very great. It can be used for other currencies. Ans sums up the total for you. Very amazing app!

I updated today and now it will not even open....continuous crashing as soon as it opens???? Please help??? What can I do??
$15 per month is not “FREE”
The description says free. It does not say free trial. It does not say in-app purchase. ...And there is a monthly limit to number of receipts you can scan!! It took me 3 hours of testing and research to find this out. Not good for personal use.
The complete solution for receipt tracking
The app is well-thought out, with constant improvements. The app team appears to be constantly looking for ways to make it more convenient. The web front end is great too! If i had one suggestion, it would be to improve the search feature. The search results and response can be slow at times, and occasionally returns extraneous results. IOS 16.4.x. We’ve tried MANY other solutions and this seems to be THE BEST! Keep up the great job and please work out the occasional kinks with search.

When this was IQBOXY it was such a better product….The IPhone App version is slow and glitchy seems like they are putting no money back into improving the interface and for $15 dollars a month I’m definitely gonna cancel…

This app has made tracking expenses so easy. The use of AI saves me so much time and money from having to hire someone to manage my expenses.
Nice App. Deceptive Marketing.
I needed an app to track my personal expenses only on certain occasions. I sought one that was reasonably priced for that goal. The first place to look at cost of an app if it isn’t listed outright is under “In-App Purchases” in the App Store’s description. You can make an informed decision right then & there if the app cost meets your needs. No further waste of time. Nowhere in the description is any mention of charges for the app. It shows no cost (i.e. free). One is required to download & get into the app to find that it is a minimum of $180/year. Very deceptive. This subverts Apple’s intention to inform the user of what they are actually getting in to. It surprises me that any company with app of this quality feels the need to be deceitful with potential customers up-front. It’s like a restaurant that doesn’t put prices on the menu. It’s like used car, buyer-beware sales. I’ve already wasted enough of my time with this app even in just writing this review.
Organized App for Unorganized Man
I just started remodeling houses. So I decided to get more organized with my receipts. Verify works perfect. I have 2 restaurants and 6 rentals. This makes my receipt life seamless. Now that my receipts are all in one place, I can easily track spending and keep on budget! Worth every penny
3-plus years use
Over the past three years there have glitches but ultimately they have all been resolved without data loss. Best part is having business logos. Yeah, the $15/month is worth it. The business use is great, being able to show receipts to spouse is infinitely better! I save 5-stars ratings for apps that fix problems. This is one of them.

I have been in business over 35 years, using quite a few other scan and store receipts Apps. Veryfi is so user friendly being easy to understand and use.. I wish I had Veryfi sooner, but better late than never..Thank you Veryfi for making it easy for me to manage my expenses charge slips..
Poor Planning - Forcing the Update
Inconvenient. Not at a place where I can update and their app forces it by trapping you at the inbox screen. I can’t add new receipts and I cannot update. Poor planning on their part, now I will get behind.
