One, I absolutely love this game. Played the series growing up so obviously I’m biased but it’s very fun! Two, their customer support team is absolutely amazing. My account had reset after making a purchase so I reached out to them and they were able to reinstate my purchase on the new island for me. They were very polite, quick, and helpful! Full 5 stars from me ⭐️!
WASTE OF MONEY
The time it takes to complete a task to progress in the game is EXTREMELY SLOW, it’s almost like you have to buy tech points and stones packages in order to ACTUALLY get anything done, and everything is extremely expensive and requires way too many tech points and stones to upgrade. For example I need 10 glass panes. It’s 20 minutes JUST to make ONE piece of glass, then I need to use bamboo and glass to make the pane. At this point I’m Uninstalling and I recommend you don’t download this app
Super fun but the tech points….
I absolutely love Virtual Villagers. The game is very nostalgic for me since I have been playing this game as a kid. The game is great, but the tech point system is straight up predatory. As soon as you get invested in the game, and start to progress. It becomes impossible to play without paying. I’m all for making money and I understand the need to make money but this is straight up predatory and impossible to play.
Crafting bugs and AI
I’ve played all of the Last Day of Work games and loved all of them. For this new one, I am not feeling it as much because of the direction of the game, especially because of the heavy usage of AI. It was disappointing to watch the animated scene, as I believe the scene could’ve been hand-drawn instead of using AI. There is a lot more of in-game currency purchasing too, which is not a big issue to me but the game feels more of pay-to-win sort of game instead of it being a fun game to play. I would love to see the direction of this game switch to using actual art instead of AI. I know AI makes everything a lot easier and faster to develop but I would rather wait than to see AI implemented almost everywhere in the game. Besides AI, there are some bugs where crafting recipes disappear or the ingredients turn into something else.
Progress is slow or expensive
I’ve noticed that the progress of the villagers and the technology is extremely poor. So it’s either you wait days and sometimes weeks to acquire the amount of technology you need. Or you are forced to purchase it, which is not fun either the progress needs to be improved so that if you watch videos which there’s a lot of them. You actually get something that is substantial and usable or you adjust the progress so that people don’t have to wait days for simple things. Was this even tested on a panel of people? The game has a great concept however it’s boring.

The game is almost impossible to play continuously, everything takes too long or costs money. You just have to wait around for days for your villagers to get enough tech points to do anything. There’s no continuous gameplay. I miss the old virtual villagers :(

Micro purchases trap
I downloaded this because of the nostalgia. That’s the only things it’s delivered on. The progression moves at a glacial pace and in order to make it go any faster you have to buy into it. However, even that’s not enough because the amount of resources you need to complete a mission is astronomical! And the payout for watching ads is absolutely minimal!
Wish I Could Bring Back Dead as Many Times as I Wish
I fell in love with my villager, but I can only bring her back three times. I would rate this five stars if they made an option to revive my villager as many times as I wish. Regardless, the next part of my review will mention that the game is not as pay-to-win as people are saying. It is pretty easy to get tech points without paying. There is a strategy that does not involve money. I love that LDW kept this game free-to-win over all of these years. I think the only game they made that’s truly pay-to-win is virtual villagers origins 2 (which they might’ve fixed since).

I been a die hard virtual, but why do you have to watch an ad to shorten time on crafting that SPINS A WHEEL TO DETERMINE how much time is removed.Very tight I watched an unskippable ad just for the wheel to take off 30 seconds off my craft time. Lesser time taken off my craft than the actual ad that was supposed to be a reward :/. Pray there’s no use of ai in this game as well
Finished Puzzle!
I just finished all puzzles and I really wish I can continue doing more even after puzzles are done. For example my villagers keep thinking of feast even after all puzzles were done. I’ve created a pie but I cannot put it in the oven because it was only for puzzles. I don’t like that after puzzles are done there’s nothing else you can do. The only thing you can do is breed for more villagers and have villagers work. Really wish I can keep coming back to do more. Now that all puzzle is done I’ll come back less and my villagers will just die down and the game is pretty much done there. 😕
Love the game but…
I have played this game since the first version was computer only. I have completed every game and was excited to see another version come out. The game is great and I love playing it however the game does not seem to continue when the app is not open. I will be away from the game for a few hours and come back and there has been absolutely no progress except for the countdown clocks those still seem to work.
Money Hungry
The problem with this game is that everything cost actual money! You have to buy lava stones to get perks and other items you need that are impossible to get without buying anything. Tech points are slow to gain even if you have 5 master scientists. Puzzles are time consuming and villagers die before completing it because it takes so long. This is just like the previous virtual villagers which I was hoping it wasn’t. The game needs a lot of work, it’s still new and constantly getting updated, only problem is I was halfway through the game it updated and deleted all the progress. Honestly too many issues with the gameplay. I won’t be playing.
Love!!.. but..
This new update helps healers gain skill now without having to wait on sick villagers.. only problem is when i leave them at hospital and exit out game to gain healing experience .. it doesn’t move at all like the others do. :/ and my villager is close to death.. it already took 2 hours to get the healer bar halfway.

Waaaaay too slow to progress. Not to mention the game is too big for my screen when I want to upgrade. So I can’t even see how many points I need to upgrade

Villagers die too easily and it’s hard to get them to reproduce quick enough. There aren’t enough to gather food or tech points to actually progress in the game. Too little food and they won’t reproduce. Too few tech points and you can’t do anything. Lower the amount of tech points needed so it doesn’t take so long that all the villagers die. You shouldn’t HAVE to spend money to play the game and that’s what it seems.

I played this game for many years since the very beginning. Only missing virtual villagers part six I look forward to continuing playing this one as well.

Ads pause the crafting
The game is great i’ve always loved the Virtual villagers/families series but when you offer ads to help benefit the player, on a game that relies on real time, why does it pause my crafting? If you make me sit through a full minute ad and i end up winning only 1 minute on the wheel, then i watched an ad for nothing since my crafting time got paused.
Help, glitch ?!
I would be happy to change my review if I find a fix. I love these games! But this one is so glitchy! I had to restart my first village because the construction table was just missing and never showed up. The second restart came after all my villagers died from missing one day. My third restart came when my frustration grew from not having enough skilled villagers to complete the tasks. On my fourth village now and ready to scream. Do the puzzles need done in order? Must be because my scientist made plans for the hut before the apparently needed plans for the Turkey thing. So now they can’t build the hut (or won’t because they need an invention from solving the prior puzzle I guess) and won’t change the plans on the board. How am I supposed to fix this? I’m so tired of restarting.
Game play
The game takes way too long to play unless you’re willing to spend a fortune for what you need to be able to play it. The game itself is fun but having to wait over 24 hours for the villagers to get enough stuff to be able to play is ridiculous.
Game not fully Loading
I am not able to open the game due to the game not loading, it only load to 96% and will not go any further.
Too much money
I just spent 7.00 in two days on this game since I needed 100 lava stones to buy 1000 units of food. The villagers were STILL worried about food. I am dropping them on everything to no avail. I get a gatherer, but there is no place to store anything and no clue where to do so. This game is way too expensive and frustrating. I deleted it.
Good but needs change
Developers need to change the whole nursing moms are useless while breast feeding. They can gather. Remember curlers living in the wild out their babies in a sling and still help with survival. Ridiculous they do nothing until the babies running around.
No Technical Support
I have always loved the games in this franchise, however the technical support this time around is frankly shameful. I ran into an issue that halted any possibility of progression. All tech support would say was ‘there’s probably a part of the puzzle you’re missing’, ‘you can purchase hints to help’. and ‘certain level criteria needs to be met for specific puzzles’. I’m sorry, but I didn’t ask for a vague fortune telling. All criteria were met, all tasks completed, and the game itself told me to complete the task that’s broken. Honestly saddening, I had really high hopes!
Roll for time off crafting?? High tech amount for level two?
I have played EVERY virtual villagers from when i was a child and you had to play it off of the computer. I’ve completed each version of the game multiple times and bought the paid versions for my phone. That being said i respect using ads for progressing through the game quicker. However, i am appalled that trying to simply take five minutes off of crafting a product isn’t worth one video. I was on a roll trying to finish a puzzle and wanted to watch a video and afterwards it secured 10% off the time. Of a five minutes craft. That is not worth the ad time versus craft time. As well the tech is really high, which the latest games have stayed consistent with high tech to progress, and I know people have asked for it not to be that way because i do read the reviews people have mentioned and it being overboard as well as playing myself. To me it seems that ivirtual villagers does have high demand to make newer versions as it’s been out for a decade and high popularity, but i feel as though makers aren’t hearing your audience. I would much rather pay a straight one time fee to own the game and support the franchise than pay a lemur and bird to grab poisonous crabs and go down the crack in the earth for me and get 10% off a craft time after watching a minute long video. If im logged on I can do those actions myself. If this was my first interaction with this franchise, I would not finish the storyline. Please genuinely listen to your audience.

Bring back the old VV!
For over a decade Virtual Villagers was my go to game! 1-5 are so nostalgic, The Tree of Life is my favorite story line. I loved the old school graphics, the relaxation of it all, and how it all relied on patience and puzzle solving. Maybe this is a niche complaint, but VV 6 & 7 aren’t living up to 1-5. It comes off like Ai slop, the new graphics aren’t what made VV special, and the gameplay itself just isn’t as smooth. I don’t like that if you want to progress, you basically have to spend money because if you try to just be patient at the beginning it takes too long for them to form a skill and your entire village dies. Bring back the old graphics and gameplay! Not this Ai stuff!

Fix the tech point upgrade costs
It’s a nice game but to upgrade using tech points cost too much and it takes days to earn enough tech points to even try to upgrade. You should really lower it and make it like it was in the first and second game. Waiting is a hassle and no real progress gets made
Glitchy
I usually love these games!! And I know it hasn’t been out for long, and glitches are to be expected. but I’m on the terradome puzzle, and I keep making fertilizers, however when I drop a villager on the crafting hut to take it to the dome, it tells me there’s no resources to be used, and I cannot complete the puzzle. Also, sometimes in the crafting hut, when I go to combine items, and leave the game, it resets, so it gets rid of the resources that I used to make my new item, but there’s no new item. Usually I love these games! However I’ve never experienced such issues like these.
Great game but some issues
I always love the virtual villager games and I think the hints are a nice addition whenever someone gets stuck but one thing that is bothering me is for building and gathering it doesn’t let you do some things unless you have enough skill which is frustrating because to gain skill you need to build things but you cannot work on the things you need to build if your villagers don’t have enough skill for it so you’re maintaining huts instead of building new ones and it takes them really long to master a skill.

Odds of Gian Head
Well, i’ve been playing vv for such a long time but i’m f2p. That is why i rely mostly on watching ads to help me progress faster. However, in this new vv7, the odds of getting a giant head is way too high. I watched like 6 ads consecutively and i got 4 giant heads. Hahaha. Got frustrated a bit. I just want double max life and it never gave me one. Also, the waiting time is too long. Especially the steaming part where it took couple of days. It’s so long that i got enough tech points to level up food and opened the fishing spot before the other food became available. And right now i’m still waiting for the steam. Haha. That is all. Still hoping for improvements.
Visual glitches
I’ve done all the puzzles correctly. I blasted the scrap metal. I grabbed the scrap metal. I made the wrench. I turned off the steam and I still cannot get cold. It’s not registering or highlighted. I still have a pile of scrap metal. And no matter how many villages I drag, the scrap metal doesn’t disappear and the cold does not appear, and I can’t go on with the other puzzle without the coal. Help! so frustrated.
Slow going
I’ve played them all. The game is fine, but so much of the gameplay is just a repeat of previous versions with little new content added. Add to that the fact that it’s insanely slow to gain tech points (I’ve had 20-30 master scientists for over a week now) and all the puzzles are really just ploys to make me sit around and wait for scientists to earn tech points with nothing else for me to do. And I do mean nothing. It’s just really boring 98% of the time. It has taken 3 days to earn the tech points I need to check off the next one little part of a puzzle, while leaving me with nothing else to do.

Takes forever and no guide
They really want you to spend money on this game. Play is EXTREMELY slow and boring. There is a hint every 6 hours but no help guide and no map of where anything is or what steps to do next. It’s disappointing because I used to play older versions and had fun.
The upgrades cost
I really like the game but if the upgrades could cost less I think some people could get through some of the puzzles quicker.
Stuck
Game is great but there is a glitch in the inventory. For puzzle 7: I can make the glass but when it’s time to collect I hit collect and okay and the glass never shows up in my inventory to make the glass pane.
Deletion Issue
So I’ve only played the game for a day and I really enjoy it but there’s an issue that now makes the game unplayable for me. I went to settings in the game and pressed delete so I could start over with a new village. No matter what I do, close the game and even delete it off my phone and redownload it, it keeps giving a pop up saying “Account deletion is in progress. Please try again later”. So now it’s pretty much unplayable for me because it won’t stop with the pop up no matter what I do. Could you please fix this so I can continue playing the game?

The game so far is good I’ve played all the virtual villagers and so far my favorite game, my only issue is that not being able to do certain things due to how slow the game moves and then u have to spend money to get the lava stones to progress faster by time your getting to where u need the whole village be then died. I’m currently at a hault, I spent over 37$ for new everything more everything just for my villagers to die . Now I’ve had to start again and it’s slow progress with my scientists
Worst Game Yet..
This game completely misses what made Virtual Villagers great in the first place. The older games were simple, relaxing, and rewarding. You could progress at your own pace and actually enjoy solving puzzles and growing your village. Now it feels slow, grindy, and designed to push you into spending money just to make any real progress. The pay-to-progress elements ruin the experience. I’m not interested in constantly being nudged to buy gems or speed things up just to enjoy basic gameplay. That’s not fun—it’s frustrating. On top of that, villagers are worse than ever at maintaining tasks. Even “masters” only work for a few moments before stopping, forcing you to constantly come back and reassign them. That turns the game into a chore instead of something you can relax and enjoy. Managing villagers feels clunky, and the overall experience just isn’t as polished or enjoyable as the originals.

Pls update the hints for new puzzles. Im stuck. Theres nothing could guide me for the new puzzles😵💫

I updated the app on my iPhone. Now it tells me “Failed to log in to Apple”. Still works on my iPad which I have not updated. Loving the game up to this point though.
