Not the best if you switch lenses
Freezes when switching lenses, and no good way to see filters, save it, and compare it
Great app needs a few things
Love this app! But would like the ability to open VSCO capture with my camera button on iphone 16 pro and up!
Good but could be better.
I have loved these filters for over a decade and have even paid for many of the packs from the last iteration of their app. This has a potential to be great if they could map the app to the camera button and set Manuel mode to recall the last Settings used. In its current state, shooting is a slow and arduous process. It’s like someone jumbling your settings on your camera every time you set it down. I hope the developers make improvements because this app has keeps a potential. Also, please don’t ask us to subscribe for a premium tier just to use the editing tools. I don’t wanna pay for AI and I don’t wanna pay $20 a month. I can do these edits in several other apps for free. Lastly, please allow us to restore purchases from the past. Losing out on the investment is tragic, really.
Freezes a lot
It’s a cool app. Annoying when it freezes when choosing focal lengths.

Disappointing
Free camera app requires an account to use, which is ridiculous. Even if you were okay with that, the app errors out when trying to sign up and is completely useless.
The reason for me to rate 4/5
I’ll give four out of five for this app. It’s very useful to take natural photos with G6 filter I would recommend G6 filter for taking photos / videos . Its filters are 100% free but require a lot of storage … 😉
Crashing every time
Very buggy, it crashes when trying to take a picture 90% of the time (I haven’t managed to take more than 4 pictures in a row) Sometimes doesn’t save the picture after I’ve taken it. Needs the glitches reviewed
Really wanted to like this one
First of all thank you for making this app free. Unfortunately, the app keeps crashing when taking photos. Phone getting sluggish. Really wanted to like this app but it’s unusable.

The app is almost perfect. The only thing that would make it spectacular is if it could be added to the camera button! For now, it can only be used with the action button.
Such lost potential
this app could be so great, but is filled with bugs and sudden crashes. It lags when you take more than 2 pictures and drains my phone battery.

I heard some good things about this app. I just upgraded my phone to an iPhone 17 Pro Max and decided to try some different camera apps. This one won’t let you even do a trial without signing up. I went ahead but as I entered the last bit of information and hit “submit” the app just errors out with something that says it couldn’t complete the profile setup. New phone and new app install and it doesn’t work at all. Won’t be trying it again.

Disappointed
I love the app when it works. Not sure if it’s the iOS or the app specifically but it’s been crashing and freezing constantly. The team has been responsive and I hope this gets resolved. I really enjoy using it for my work but it’s just not reliable.
Not a bad app, but need some work
First of all: When I switch to 3x camera, the camera just freezes and nothing happens. I can not even go back to 1x anymore. SO DISAPPOINTING. Second: We need to have a fav filter list to prevent switching them by mistake.

Abandoned?
I like this app but it feels abandoned by VSCO, similar to so many of their products. I would have loved the ability to map this to my camera action button, but no such luck. I’ll have to keep using Halide as my default until they do.

The app worked perfectly fine in the beginning, but lately every time I try to take a picture it just looks black. It’s a shame because it’s hard to tell if your taking a good picture.

What’s the point of making a whole separate app with every vsco filter for free, IF YOU CANT EXPORT IT WITHOUT PAYING FOR PREMIUM??? At that point I’d just upload my video to the regular VSCO app and pay. Some filters are free but not all and it won’t tell you until you’ve already taken the picture. I can’t even save it, all I can do is look at it in my gallery on the vsco capture app
Macro Causes Jumping in Video
Came to update review. If you have Macro turned on in your regular camera settings, it also works in this app, but causes the picture/video to absurdly jump if anything else becomes the focus. It’s like it’s cropping in real time. Be sure to turn Macro off when recording.

One last request
This app has all the things you love about VSCO camera built into the app, and it’s light weight and fires up fast and ready to go. There’s only one request I have. Update the app so we can program the camera button to launch this app. IOS26 now allows the camera button to be mapped to a 3rd party app. Thanks!

Crashes every third photo, very slow, sometimes opens up wirh black screen instead of viewfinder. Seems lol a great app but doesnt work for my current phone, sadly

Can’t get past name set up
Actually better than my iPhone 16 pro max camera
This app is really great I love that you can easily edit them- I’m not currently using it for the purpose of posting to vsco but the app takes really nice photos. 4 stars is because (not sure if it’s a glitch with my phone) but the app said it saved the photos to my phone and to the drafts of the app but it doesn’t save to my photos app, not a problem just an extra step of downloading a photo taken on the app onto my phone photos app. EDIT AFTER RESPONSE: thank you!! It is actually saving to an album called VSCO in my photos app <3
Need improvements
Magnification doesn’t work, and even if it does(sometimes) its only 4x.New iphone has 8x magnification.

Its a unique camera app different from others in the market with minimal controls hut usefull. Really loved it.
Buggy AF
Doesn’t open. Worked for a few days now won’t open. Just use the camera app and VSCO after
Problem in Manual mode
Played around with ISO in manual mode but couldn’t reset it to Auto. Had to delete app and reinstall to get back to Auto ISO and Auto shutter speed. Advice please or link to tutorials? I like the possibilities of this app but need help to fix this issue.
