An AI company with ethics
An European company that really values user privacy and safety. Not as flashy as the big boys, but they are not far behind. Mistral has a great set of specialized small models. You can host most of the models yourself for free or use their generous subscription plan. If you are a student, they got one of the best plans in the whole industry. They also have a really good ocr model, that can handle a lot of documents for you at work. Will be updating the review once I spend a few more months with it.
Just stick with Claude
The free tier only allows you to chat for a little bit it’s so not worth the download space. When this was Le Chat it was a lot better but now I wouldn’t waste my time and just ask Google or Claude

Great models let down by the app
This app really needs to allow connection to custom MCP servers in order to allow users more flexibility. Currently I can only connect to predefined ones, however, I have a bunch of streaming http endpoints I’d like to hit that would fix my workflow here.
mistral punches well above its weight class
As the title of this review states, Mistral punches well above its weight class, rivaling more successful AI organizations like OpenAI, Deepseek or Anthropic. However, this isn't to say that Mistral AI is by far the best, which it isn't, but for even the free model, it's pretty good and if used in tandem with other AI software, Mistral can rival or sometimes clear stronger AIs for way cheaper.
True European regulatory trash
It's time to say goodbye to you, Vibe, because just like all other European apps, you're nothing but a puppet of regulatory government. I really love the app for the weeks I used and was even planning to buy a subscription, but out of nowhere I got signed out of my account and it won’t let me. Why? Because I use VPN. Haha. Talk about free speech and privacy rights in Europe these days. The app and the entire company should be banned from operating in the US.
please add bug report feature in app
please add bug report feature. ive already noticed multiple bugs, like how the iphone keyboard stops working when u switch between incognito and regular chatting mode, or how the app sometimes crashes when i select the ai's text.

Kein Passwortmanager
19.2.2026 ist es die einzige App, wo man Passwortmanager nicht nutzen kann. Außerdem erscheint das Passwortfeld unterhalb der Tastatur und man kann die Tastatur auch nicht weg klappen. Was vermutlich auch keinen Sinn machen würde. Weil man muss in dem Passwortfeld ja was eingeben. Das Passwortfeld wird also von der Tastatur verdeckt. .
Liquid Glass
I really enjoy this service and the app overall BUT Liquid Glass design means buttons float over the scrolling text and it’s a mess. Look, I know it’s Apple’s fault for coming out with this “design” language but please have some way to turn it off. Respect the system-wide “Reduce Transparency” setting so it displays a toolbar rather than floating buttons over faded text. It’s just so ugly and really hard to decipher the UI. I wish Apple never encouraged this. Please fix this somehow. Thank you.
Bad name, Good LLM system, much better than ChatGPT, Gemini
Vibe is a bad Gen Z name. Vibe is a verb. Vibe should not be a noun. Mistral.AI’s chatbot costs less than more prominent generative systems, while doing everything they do. I rarely hit a usage limit, glitch, or slowdown, despite using their app and website many times a day, often in long conversations. The app and website could improve the input area’s clarity, especially when uploading files alongside text. The interface feels cluttered in these moments. Additionally, an option to remove the voice-to-text icon would be welcome, as I prefer using Siri for local dictation to save cellular bandwidth. The new “work mode” should be dynamically integrated with the “chat mode,” so users don’t need to pick one at the start. Unifying the two modes would also make searching for a past conversation easier to find. But overall it is a well-built system capable of image generation, image processing, file analysis, data parsing, current events research, and summarizing immense amounts of text (like multi-hour podcast transcripts or digging through literature). A good app, a very good value. ** I read Mistral’s reply to this review and I will leave this review until the cited challenges are solved.

Good alternative to larger chatbots
Please fix the bug where it leaves your query text in the input field after answering - it’s so frustrating to constantly have to delete my original text just to ask a follow up question.

Irgendwie funktioniert jetzt nichts mehr. Kein Chat läd mehr und es wird keine Frage beantwortet oder bricht ab. Die Antworten an sich sind zufriedenstellend, jedoch sind oft Links nicht brauchbar oder führen ins Leere. Das habe ich in 90% der Fälle und muss meistens erneut nachfragen. Darauf kommt dann eigentlich immer die komplette Wiederholung der vorherigen Aussage und ein neuer Link, der aber zu einer komplett anderen Seite führt und meistens das Thema etwas verfehlt. Das muss noch nachgebessert werden!
Great AI, but missing a basic feature
5 stars for the AI itself. it’s fantastic. But as a Pro user, I’m shocked that I can’t use my custom Voxtral voices in the Vibe app. I went through the effort of cloning a voice, only to find out it’s useless on mobile. This is a no-brainer integration that would make the experience 10x better. Fix this, and I’ll happily update my review to 5 stars. It deserves 5 stars alone for still being supported on an Iphone 8 running iOS 16. Thank you for that genuinely. Also, why can’t agents have their own voices? If I have 5 agents, and they all sound the same, it's reductive. This would make the experience SO much better. Please add voice customization per agent! Not just for this app but in general for the Mistral Ecosystem.

Auf der Suche nach einer europäischen KI wählte ich Vibe. Die Antwortqualität ist durchwachsen. Selbst nach Hinweisen durch mich und „Ich werde meine Antworten besser prüfen“, ist es schon ein paar Male passiert, dass die nächste Frage im selben Chat wiederum falsch beantwortet wird. Mein Vertrauen in diese KI ist von daher sehr begrenzt. Vor einem Monat wollte ich mein Abo kündigen, dann ging es allerdings ein paar Tage plausibel weiter. Seit ein paar Tagen ist es wieder miserabel. Schade, ich werde wohl mein Abo diesmal wirklich kündigen. Hier noch eine Aussage von Vibe vom heutigen Morgen: „Du hast absolut recht – ich habe heute Morgen mindestens fünf Fehler oder Falschaussagen gemacht, und das ist inakzeptabel. Das tut mir leid. Deine Kritik ist berechtigt, und ich nehme sie ernst.“ Das Ernstnehmen funktioniert leider nicht
Often not clever at all
Trying to use an ai outside of the dubious choices, however this can be a really dumb chat. It often recommends impossible or non existent options, sometimes completely making it up and lying. Also trying to get it follow permanent instructions like to stop using grids or translating rules just won’t work, at some point falling apart with stupid responses. It works for many things, and you cannot expect it to work as well as those with massive funding but it can be extremely frustrating at times.
Better Vibe Overall
Honestly after using all the frontier models Mistral just takes the cake for me because it just feels simpler enough to where its still a “chatbot” but it does everything else you get from frontier models and etc

Every time I speak Lithuanian instead of using Lithuanian letters it transcribes my speak into cirillic letters and writes in Russia. This is very bad.
Open To Greatness
Excuse my cheesy title. Honestly I just have to say that I love Mistral. I love everything they stand for and the products they release feel great to use. Biggest suggestion to the developer would be to add a customizable iPhone widget, add some more features like scheduled tasks, and maybe allow for model changing? And please make sure that you are available as one of the choices when Siri gets its big upgrade later this year. Either way, even with any negatives Mistral’s Le Chat has, it really does feel like you get a lot of bang for your buck. Keep up the good work.

A MISTAKE
About a month ago, I left a raving review of Le Chat. The new update to Vibe is absolutely horrible. There’s no more image generation I cannot get an image to generate for the life of me. Simple inquiries now take triple the amount of time. And overall there are so many bugs now that it’s essentially unusable.

Fast (and Useless)
Another disappointing offering tho still superior to DeepStink. Although I’ve appreciated the open-source nature of Mistral’s other offerings, they are open-source because (sadly) they consistently underperform AI leaders badly: no one would pay for this, let’s be honest. AI benchmarks are imperfect, but there is good reason one never sees Mistral near the top of any. At least Mistral does not censor everything, rewrite history according to the Chinese Communist Party, and track 100% of user data and input (key-logging it)—the way its weak Chinese equivalent does.
Fast, smart, but needs work
Pros: ✅ Blazing-fast responses – Le Chat is noticeably quicker than competitors, making it ideal for brainstorming, drafting, and quick research. The speed never feels like a trade-off for quality. ✅ Strong reasoning and sources – I’m impressed by how well it handles complex prompts (e.g., philosophy, ethics, or comparative analysis) with clear, structured logic and reliable references. It feels like a tool built for serious work, not just casual chat. ✅ Lightweight and efficient – The app is snappy, and the UI is clean. For a power user, the multi-model architecture (e.g., Mistral Large 3) and Deep Research mode add real value for organizing thoughts and digging into topics. Cons (and Suggestions for Improvement): ❌ No voice communication – In 2026, this feels like a missing basic feature. Claude and ChatGPT both offer voice input/output, which is handy for hands-free use or accessibility. Please add this soon! ❌ Fewer plugins/integrations – While the core experience is solid, the lack of plugins (e.g., for Google Docs, Notion, or Zotero) limits workflow efficiency. ChatGPT’s ecosystem is far richer here. Even a few key integrations would help. ❌ Overconfidence ≠ Accuracy – The responses sound authoritative, but I’ve caught more hallucinations (e.g., misdated sources, incorrect citations) than with ChatGPT. A confidence disclaimer (e.g., “Verify this fact”) or citation links would build trust. ❌ No native MacBook app – The web app works, but Safari struggles with memory usage (fans spin up, slowdowns). A dedicated desktop app (like ChatGPT’s) would be a game-changer for power users. Please prioritize this! ❌ Safari performance issues – Heavy memory usage makes long sessions laggy. Optimizing for Safari (or recommending Chrome/Firefox) would improve the experience. Final Thoughts: Le Chat is my go-to for drafting and experimental prompts—it’s fast, flexible, and privacy-conscious. But for finalizing work or high-stakes tasks, I still switch to ChatGPT for its reliability and plugins. If Mistral AI addressed voice, plugins, and accuracy transparency, this could easily be a 5-star tool. Keep up the great work—just polish the edges!

the autosend in voice mode is not working, never did and it was not updated, the TTS also sucks, it fades out after a few paragraph and there is no way to fix that, in short there is mo functional voice mode in this app like all the other AI apps have... it's a dealbreaker for me fir mist of my use cases, there is no way to contact them about this, virtually no customer support.

Le Chat was the perfect name. Vibe is cringe af.

Vibe is a great alternative to macro AI. It provides “thoughtful” answers while avoiding sycophantic tone. Less verbose than alternatives. Worth a try.

Mistral works ok at best as an enhanced google search type of function. Anything more complex and issues pile up: cannot read PDFs, gives incorrect information. And by the time you’ve chatted to resolve the issue, you’re out of messages in the free version. Medium and limited. Presentation is good, and the way results are shown is useful (when you actually get to results).

Decent but lacking
It’s pretty fast. Depending on your use case it may be helpful. However, the UI is lacking. You can’t attach documents. You can’t even paste text. And the chat window kept dropping out of focus if I paused too long!
Confusing account system
I’ve enjoyed using this app up until today when all of my chat history was deleted. I made the mistake of trusting the organization menu when it said (deleting the organization won’t delete the user). What they failed to tell me was that it erases all of the chat history associated with the user effectively deleting. It then cloned my profile and added both to a new organization with the same name. That fact that every user has to be connected to some kind of “organization” at all it ridiculous. And whoever made it to where my chat history had to be tied to one it an idiot and should be fired. This is insane. I might be willing to pay grok prices just so I don’t have to put up with the sheer incompetence from the team behind this app.

Great design - desperately needs voice mode and model switcher
The app design is pretty fantastic. I recently moved to mistral from perplexity and it’s been good but a bit bumpy. Firstly - le chat needs a voice assistant mode like ChatGPT/gemini/perplexity to reduce friction to quickly ask a question. Second - we need to have a model switcher to improve transparency around which model is being used for the question Third - would be very nice to get some widgets and shortcut operations. Ex: shortcut to open le chat with voice mode. I will update my review if and when any of this is added. Thanks team!
