Fast local dictation on iPhone
Super fast local dictation on the iPhone. I appreciate the new models and the changes to the keyboard. Continual changes on the keyboard are what I would expect, and I'm sure that it will get done in time. Time.
Great concept of currently full of bugs on iOS
Great concept in the beginning to work for a day or two but the bugs on iOS especially on WhatsApp and other apps makes this really useless. I hope they’re developers will be able to fix this really soon because the concept is great.
Fantastic voice dictstion
I love the ability to tweak and customize your voice dictation. The keyboard for iOS has become a lifesaver for me. The only thing I wish is that it wouldn't switch you between the app and the keyboard on first use. It's a minor annoyance, but getting rid of it would make using this app even better.
Extremely unstable
I wish it worked better. It has a lot of potential coming from the competition, but it's extremely unstable. I can't tell you how many times I talk to myself where it looks like it's working and nothing's actually happening. Whereas I have to force close the app to try to get it working again ... constantly. I'll give it a few weeks to see if the bugs are worked out before bailing. The developers released this prematurely. It's not quite ready for production. I'd call it beta.

I find Spokenly better due to ability to use local models for free and better keyboard layout.
Saved
I'm injured from overuse of digital devices for both my hobbies and my job. Texting on my iPhone has become unbearable; I have to make a million corrections a day, which ruins my workflow and is injuring my arms even worse. Superwhispers solves this. Thank goodness I don't have to make 10 million corrections. Superwhisper wrote this review, so I don't even have to do one.
Unreliable app
I’ve tried the app many times, even paid for a subscription, but it’s unreliable. Usage stops abruptly, the dictated text is lost, and the transcription is inaccurate. Any feedback to the developer gets censored, and they ban you from forums. Stay away—bad app, bad team.
Needs iPad app
I really like the application. The only issue is there’s no native iPad app so the scaling is weird when using it.
New update crashes local inferencing
The newest update keeps crashing the app when you run the local whisper model
Not good in iPhone
Superwhisper is fantastic on the desktop, it works seamlessly every time. Unfortunately, the phone app is very hit or miss. I use the shortcut correctly and see the red recording indicator, it still frequently fails to capture or output any text after I finish speaking. I love the desktop version and really don't want to switch to a competitor, but I need the phone setup to match the desktop's reliability. Please fix the mobile version!
Addicted and will never go back
Hands down the absolute best voice to text I've ever used. It's rare when I find an app/product that I'm in love with and this is DEFINITELY one of them. Nice work SW team!
No free Version-locks after trial
Maybe it’s because they just released v2.17.1 6 hours ago and this is a new issue with it? I spent almost 4 hours trouble shooting and deleting/reinstalling and other attempts at resolving the issue using Claude Opus 4.6 and Perplexity for help to no avail. I continually get the sign up for Pro message and a non-working app after the 15 min trial ends. And I see no way to opt out of the trial at install/setup.
Good at dictation, not so much typing
The app is great at what it's supposed to do: dictation. However, the keyboard feature leaves a lot to be desired. It's not nearly as accurate, and you can't swipe to type. On top of that, the emoji support doesn't seem to be the latest. Also, when searching for an emoji, you have to tap just right or you miss the search bar. The tap zones need to be adjusted for the keyboard. I also dislike the way that holding and pressing on the spacebar moves the caret. You can only go left and right; you can't go up and down like the system keyboard. But again, the dictation is absolutely spot on.
Gone downhill fast
This app used to work well and be relatively snappy, and suddenly it has just completely gone downhill. It's incredibly slow. It doesn't matter which combination of models you use, and I'm talking about both iOS and the desktop. Sometimes it doesn't even complete the operation of compiling my dictation, and lately, for some reason, they have decided, with no setting to override it, to censor things that you say. I'm actually an adult, and if I feel like swearing and if that's part of my day-to-day, then it should be included. Not a good look to decide on censorship. I'll be switching to Wispr Flow.
Unreliable
Unreliable as a dictation app, unreliable as a keyboard. I would dictate and then the whole thing would just glitch and not save anything or keep spinning indefinitely. I was expecting better from a paid service.
It keeps getting better
I love this app. It's great to have genuinely good voice dictation while also being able to do it on device so I have privacy. The way it works is by copying the dictated text to the clipboard and then pasting it in. So sometimes that quirk creates problems (if you're talking about something that you're about to paste into a message, you're going to get messed up). But overall, I'm happy I have this app. I feel like it's the best option
Not functional on iPhone SE interface
Literally useless. There’s no way to advance beyond the initial set up screen on the iPhone SE. Installed on my iPad, you can select an option and click “continue,” but that doesn’t show up on the SE UI. Since I want to use it across devices, it’s a non-starter.

Desktop good, mobile bad!
First, the keyboard has no swipe. Second, the OS interruption handling is not that great. I know Apple does not make it easy on third-party dictation keyboards, but the app regularly fails to switch back to whatever app I was using and also for some reason does not always paste the text in the box. The overall experience is just buggy and not good and I know not all of that is their fault but I would rather deal with the iPhone’s terrible dictation.

Use the shortcut. Learn how to use the shortcut. It almost works. Apple is to blame here. Now please fix the keyboard. It is lame for typing. Getting better.
Lightweight and easy to use!
I really like it because it provides a very simple interface for voice dictation, and it allows for local recording on the PC, which is something I am particular about. The lifetime license is also a nice touch, which is why I went with Superwhisper over Whisper Flow.

Keep your phone plugged in
Well, the concept is good, but the execution is terrible. You’ll find that it doesn’t stay in the app that you’re trying to use the voice recording with go back to its own app and then you’ll have to swipe back in order to get to the app that you want to use the product in but even worse it’s a complete battery stuck. I used it three times over the course of a day and my battery was down to less than 50% use with battery app reporting over 25% usage just with the product so until they get it fixed nice concept guys, but it’s got some real problems and by the way, my phone was heating up, but I could feel the back getting really hot using the product so thanks super whisperer but you’re not ready for primetime
Needs sync
Desperately needs to use iCloud for a sinking dictionary, etc.
Solid app
I'm gonna give it five stars. I'm literally writing this review from the same dictation, and it's awesome! I don't have to change anything. I used to be on Whisperflow, but it started regressing a lot and had so many issues. Then I came to this one, and it was so much better. It didn't format my text for no reason—like adding brackets—and it's very accurate. I'm half Indian and have an accent, but it picks up my accent perfectly. Even when I mispronounce something, everything is always perfect. It's also cheaper than the other one I was using, so I'm really happy to convert.

Love the app but the bugs persist
I enjoy using the app, but there are a lot of bugs where I speak something and I'm talking about an iOS device and it will just copy the thing twice or like three times or something like that, and then I have to edit that. Secondly, the keyboard just feels really laggy. Every time I use the keyboard with Super Whisper on, it's just always lagging. I can type something and it doesn't have any of the memories or just types wrong words and is just very slow. It essentially makes me want to switch back to different keyboards, and then I just can't really use the app as a whole in any way, shape, or form because I'm switching keyboards. And then if I'm talking, it copies three times and then I have to make sure to edit it and rewrite it. And then the keyboard itself is being buggy. If those things would be solved, I'd really appreciate that. But love the app overall.
Not what I hoped for
I was hoping for superwhisper to create a clean transcript of the language I speak, which can be English of French. It understands quite perfectly when I speak french but transcript everything to english. Another problem is that I have set my default keyboard to canadian french but the superwhisper keyboard shows me the french azerty layout which I don't want. Overall very disappointed
Unreliable but promising
I truly have high hopes for this app, but the iOS app is simply too unreliable at the moment. The app and keyboard commonly fail to capture the dictation, and processing speeds struggle as well. Looking forward to continual improvements.

Too many bugs to recommend
Love the concept and have been using it extensively on mac and iOS. But the iOS app still has lots of bugs - recordings being dropped, not processed, or processing stopping when the device is locked. Not worth the subscription given how buggy it still is.
Great app, but I wish you would fix the constant screen switching.
This by far is way better than speech-to-text built into the iPhone. But my only issue is that every time I try and hit the button to talk and have it convert to text it's constantly switching the screen to the app and then saying I have to download this shortcut to prevent that from happening, but the shortcut doesn't work.

Worst app ever completely inconsistent.
It works once then you got to swipe to open or close it. You have to turn it off every single time you want it to stop listening to you this is probably one of the worst apps i've ever encountered.
Appli qui aurait dû sortir depuis des années
Comme je l'ai mentionné dans le titre, c'est un outil incroyable de productivité. Ça va vous permettre de parler à l'application et de transmettre ce que vous avez dit par la voix à l'écrit. Il s’agit de transcription versatile, marche pour toutes les applications ainsi que de transcription. Un all-in-one qui aurait dû sortir depuis bien longtemps. Plus besoin d’appuyer sur micro dans IMessage pour écrire. Et sur Mac, c’est encore mieux, le gain de temps est colossal.
Promising, but misses some functionality.
It’s been some time since my first review and I’m now on new devices, but the problems described in the old review remain. It’s a bit sad that crucial functionality like synchronization of audio across devices and some sort of stability when recording and transcribing large audio just isn’t there. The interface is slick and there are a lot of models supported, but those are not useful if I cannot trust the app to transcribe and then have to do multiple taps to move my recordings around. Users shouldn’t have to scan through discord discussions to find solutions to those issues. —— I like the app - the interface is minimal, and I can easily start recording and choose how to process my text and create formats and have access to multiple language models. I think all that is great. The issue I have is that sometimes, when I record a long message - let's say over 20 minutes - on the iOS app, clicking "Process" doesn't work. Instead, the processing crashes silently and fails to produce a transcript. Furthermore, it creates a new entry in the recordings catalog indicating "no voice found in recording" with an empty recording. It's unusual because if I keep retrying, I'll soon have multiple empty entries. It’s not easy to delete these entries currently, I have to tap to open a specific entry, then tap deletion. It would be nice if I could delete from the list of recordings itself. Then, I couldn't find an option to synchronize my data between my MacBook and iPhone. Το move a recording from one device to the other, I have to figure out how to extract recordings manually. It would be beneficial to have an option to sync data between devices.
Disappointed
I am honestly very disappointed in this app. I was using a competitor for a few months, but this app's pricing is better. I made the switch over last week and I regret it. It often crashes when you're trying to dictate when it switches from the keyboard to the other app. This is incredibly frustrating. The app seems a little bit slower than the other app in the market.
Best app in my phone, works with EMR!
Hands down, the best application I've ever downloaded. This app gives flawless dictation even in a medical context. It can be used directly within EHR software because it functions as a program/keyboard. If you want it to be HIPAA compliant, you just need to create an enterprise account. That was a simple, seamless process, and the customer support has been top-notch. I’d give this app 1,000,000 stars if I could because it has made my life as a physician so much better.
Used to be awesome
This used to be my absolute go-to app for what it does, but for some reason over the past month, it has been nothing more than a nuisance and a frustration. It keeps itself open, and I have to constantly fiddle with closing and reopening it. The text streaming has also become noticeably slower over the past month or so. I don't know where things went wrong, but I strongly recommend that as the product owner and developer of this application, you be very careful. Going from a top-tier experience to frustrating your users is not a great idea.
Epic fast
So fast nowadays – lots of improvements over the last year. Still wish that it didn’t keep old recordings around and that there was a way to bulk delete them all. Otherwise great.
Excellent concept - many lags and 0 support unfortunately
It’s one of the best app I tried for voice to text through AI prompt. On macOS it is relatively stable. On iOS it has a lot of crash, AI not doing the transcript, support never answered after 3-4 emails spread over 25-30 days. I sincerely hope they change this…
Redirect + Buggy
Having to swipe back and forth from another app is a deal breaker for me. Half the time it doesn't redirect me back.
The keyboard changes everything
I'm not sure when this release was pushed… but the ability to have a keyboard at the iOS level is amazing. This is actually going to change how I use my iPhone and iPad. Thank you Neil and team. I've been a huge supporter of you guys since the beginning…. I dictated this review with Superwhisper.
Functionally useless
I normally don't review apps but this one was really bad. It never was able to paste the conversation into whatever writing I was doing until I reset the app. It only worked on the first try. After that if I switched modes or did anything else that the app required of me, it would just break. This was a great concept and I love their pricing model and the fact that they have a lifetime subscription but functionally this was useless. I hope this app improves because if the reliability was better I'd definitely stick around

Not Private By Default
Extremely misleading claims of being “offline first” and “private” when by default your transcript is sent to OpenAI for formatting. This feature should be opt-in.
Autopaste not working
Only parakeet voice to text auto pastes into text fields. With all other models I need to tap again in the text field to paste the result. Would improve rating if this bug was fixed
