Works great, quality of books are fantastic and great and fast service.
Non existent support
Awful customer support, you cannot access an actual person, you have wait for 24 hours. Will not be using again. The ai does not help at all!

Gave me the wrong book
I specifically ordered “Coraline” and I received “This Hoe got Roaches in Her Crib,” and I wish I was joking 😂

As a reader, this app is brilliant. Easy to use and great access to TBR lists. Also you can create as many different “wishlists” or “TBR” list you like. Highly recommend

Close to being good
The sort by feature when looking for books not working is the biggest letdown. Also, there needs to be some kind of response when you add something to the cart, like a pop up or a buzz from the phone would be nice. Right now, it is very easy to hit it multiple times and not realize it. Sometimes the add to cart button doesn’t work when it says something like “special offer” as well. Having to log in every time you want to check on an order is very disappointing. These are the biggest mistakes I’ve found with the app so far. Please fix these as soon as possible. Thank you.
OK when it’s OK
When things go well World of Books can be a great resource, but use the website: the app is absolutely appalling (hence the two stars). Also you need to hope that things do go well; if you have any sort of problem - usually it’s books not turning up or “very good” condition books turning up trashed - then customer services are not exactly the best. Oh, and never ever think that the image of the book you see on the webpage is going to be the same edition of the book you’re ordering. Even images of books that explicitly say “x edition” won’t be.
Books list doesn’t load
It would be useful to be able to browse the books available but sadly they don’t load. Selecting a category, expecting to see the books available doesn’t work in the app. You have to search for a specific book to view it.

Don’t bother
If you value the condition of your books, then I recommended using someone else. I ordered five books, only four arrived (the fifth was delivered separately?) of those four books, two were damaged despite being described as in very good condition. Contacted customer service, they sent me out replacements. One was fine, but the other was in an even worse condition than the original I was sent - there were literal food stains on the cover 🤢 Contacted them again, asked for a refund, they completely ignored my request and just said they’d send me out another replacement. I told them not to bother as have since purchased the book elsewhere, they said unfortunately the replacement had already been shipped and they can’t cancel it. Still don’t have my money back and had to throw four books in the bin because even a charity shop wouldn’t take them in that condition. Thanks, WoB, you are a disgrace to literature.

The App is not very well designed and slow and frustrating to use. Getting a response to a query is really very painful and apparently designed to make you give up! It’s a shame that the App lets the company down.

man ive bought 2 books prior to this, one arrived one didnt, and ive just ordered 4 more. they arrived. the oddessey by homer, cloth bound, brand new, recieved it stained, paid their new price. lightlark recieved, purchased as new, with stains on the pages, doggearring and warped pages, £8 may i remind you. and nightbane, like new, recieved it with a decimated spine, residue all over the cover and PUBES, i kid you not goddamn PUBIC HAIR in the pages. ive sold with them before tgings like first editions that have been discontinued and deluxe editions that have been undervalued on their behalf, and also some normal books which i recieve less than 50p for so overall, you know, unbelievably overpriced and stingey and goddamn awful. they also dont make it eady to return.
Disappointing app experience
Purchasing books I knew I wanted was fine, but browsing by categories-subcategories brings up zero results. Very disappointing
Unreliable service
As part of downsizing, my family and I have now completed several trades with WoB. Large number of items tend to be marked as “item not received” despite delivery company tracking showing that they have been received. The issues do always get rectified, but it is disappointing that the service so unreliable. An occasional mistake yes, sure… but this happens so often one can’t buy wonder if they are incompetent or are deliberately trying to scam. HOLD ON TO YOUR TRACKING NUMBERS!!

impossible to use!
a very poorly designed app!!! all i wanted to do was sell my books but i create an account, scan my books, go to sell, it asks me to log in and then says i have the wrong email or password when i don’t! it’s so pointless it’s so much easier to just take the books to a charity shop!
Continuity and Discount Issues
The love World of Books as a company, but I wish their app and website platform were more sophisticated. Whenever I and logged into the same account on my desktop, and add something to my cart, I wish that item would be also in my cart on the app; vice versa. Also, their buy 3 get 1 free is always finicky. Sometimes it works great and others it’s really frustrating to get it to work. They also have an extensive eBay store which is always slightly cheaper for the same condition books. I find that strange. The problem with eBay is the buy three get one free is virtually impossible to utilize there. Their eBay support is pretty bad about helping with this. Lastly, if they’re out of the correct condition of the book you ordered, they’ll just send you whatever they have, even if it’s in poor shape. I pretty much explosively purchase very good, but I’ve received two very poor books from them on two occasions. I will give them credit, that their customer service was very prompt in resolving this. I know the margins are low in this business, but hopefully this feedback can help somewhat helpful in improving your tech. Thanks for all you do!
Great shop but poor app/website
I love this shop. More accessible second hand books. No complaints about that. I want to support it. However, both the app and the website are riddled with bugs. They actively discourage me from browsing often. For example, the wishlist is so unreliable - it reorganises itself while you are browsing! Prices displayed change when you tap on a book ... Search is also a mess - you are better off googling "book title + worldofbooks" sometimes. The website is even worse.

Better Than The Website But Still Faulty
The app is fairly smooth, I like the vibration feature whenever you touch a product and unlike on the website, you are actually able to add items to your cart as well as access your wishlist. However, there are still plenty of flaws with it. I’ve noticed issues with loading among other things that need to be addressed. Overall, it’s so-so but still a step in the right direction, especially in comparison to the website.
Perfect app for a book geek
I’ve given this 5 stars because the amount of books I’ve bought at a fraction of the price - sign up to the yearly subscription too, its 100% worth it.

The app doesn’t work. When you click a genre it doesn’t load.
Too many bugs
This app needs a lot of work. The website it wonky but this is worse. You cannot filter at all. It just doesn’t work. Shows books at a low price but when you add to cart there’s no low price option. Hopefully they fix these issues.

Terrible conditions
Every book I have ordered no matter what condition I order it in has come in terrible condition. The pages are always yellowed and the covers are peeling. Half the time there are also bent pages. Don’t order from here, it is a scam.
Search is broken
Books are reasonably priced however I will search book titles and find completely irrelevant books. I searched up “the wretched of the earth” and was given results of “8 step beginner guide to trading and investing”. Terrible app function

Charity shop stock, badly described
Prices are low, but quality is really poor. Bought books, smell hit me when opening the package. Contacted customers services- can get a refund but I have to cover the cost of return. Avoid unless you enjoy the smell of mouldy books

An awful app to try and purchase with, I can never get an Add to Basket button to work. Might as well not bother and use the website.
