Fun with friends remotely
Only think I don’t like is when they use. Stuff like “Greek alphabet” and other countries words. What the heck!!
Add a friend feature shenanigans
The add a friend feature just does not work. My mom and I tried for the better part of an hour trying to add each other, progressively allowing more and more access to the app, our contacts etc and it still would not add, their online help forum was useless too, we even searched Reddit for a possible solution to no avail.
Need another level
Playing against a computer medium is too easy and hard the dictionary is too expansive. Also no penalty leaving letters over at the end.
Suddenly the app has become sluggish
Is it the new update? It doesn’t respond smoothly any more.

But it’s list of words in the dictionary is very hit or miss, will not pluralize certain words, honors slang words but not the simple real words. Open and accept more words

It would be nice to see how my word rates in terms of best word available.
Flawed
The UI is pleasing and the barebones features make it much nicer than the alternatives, but the app is very flawed. The matchmaking is broken to the point that, despite starting about a dozen games, I have yet to have someone that I do not know in real life even play their opening move. On at least two occasions the dictionary was missing words that were in the scrabble dictionary (I triple checked my spelling. It seems to be a problem with more obscure jargon words) The “Hard” difficulty is not for “experts” as described. While the “Hard” difficulty computer would definitely be hard for the average person, it very inconsistent but averages only about 250-300 points per game, which pales in comparison to the 350-400 points per game average that seasoned players average, or the 450+ average that expert/competitive players average. It’s only a slight challenge for me to beat it, and I have won 12/15 times against it. There should be an actual expert mode. Tl;dr: the app has potential but it needs to be turned into something functional and worth using for all players

Me and my friends love this app. Play it all the time, especially when it’s evening. Which is why I would love to see a dark mode setting added to the options! The default color scheme is so bright at night 😵💫. Other than that great game!!
Tile bag keeps changing
I really enjoy this game, but lately the tile distribution doesn’t seem correct. The tile bag appears to differ between players, and I’ve received multiple Qs and Zs in a single game, which isn’t consistent with standard rules. It makes gameplay feel a bit unfair and inconsistent.
Not the best
Just because it's a NYT game doesn't mean it's the best out there, it's far from it. Whatever letter distribution algorithm they use stinks and the bonus tile placement stinks.

Fun and keeps the brain sharp. Have met some interesting players and have had some good online conversations. Look forward to playing every day!

Hiding the cross bot behind a $3/month subscription is not cool. I’ll pay one time for it.

Love the game but the play button is in the wrong place. There should be an extra step before the play button is activated

“hard” computer competition isn’t really
Easy to beat even though it cheats and says “hm” (hectometer) is a legit word but cm, mm, and km are not - seriously?

Former Words w Friends player. This is a fun game! Tell me how to turn off the alerts when no one is requesting that I play.
Playing against people needs fixing.
Playing with random people is a hassle. Between the app not being able to match you with someone else, and players taking days to play their turn, it's quite the frustrating experience overall. And since the computer isn't challenging enough, even on hard mode, it quickly becomes boring.

I opened the app one day wanting to play the game, and I PERMANENTLY LOCKED ME OUT OF THE APP. Someone must of reported me or something, but now I can’t delete the app
One quibble
I think it is an unfair advantage to be able to end the game with unfavorable tiles in your rack. Why not do what Scrabble does. The game is over when one player plays all his or her tiles.
Invite friend link not working
I’ve tried all the options, QR code, links etc. Both of us have an account and is signed in. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app still not working. Each time the link only takes you to the App Store to open the app then nothing happens in the app.

Never get anyone to play with
Looks like fun however every random match I join the other player never does a move and eventually it disappears.
Last play
The game needs to be fixed regarding who gets last play. The person who starts the game often also gets the last play, depending on who draws the last tiles from the bag first. The person who gets to go first already has a significant advantage, this needs to be fixed

Fun game, some concerns
Obviously the goal here was not to exactly match Scrabble, so I'm broadly fine with the endgame being different. But it's a real flaw that, because each player gets one more turn after the tile bag is emptied, the person who started the game sometimes gets one extra turn -- which is a huge advantage in a close game. I play with one specific friend and whenever that happens, the person with the extra move intentionally plays a word like IS to preserve the fairness of the game.

It was working fine for a while, in fact it’s a great game. But now the app keeps exiting as soon as I open it :(

good game ruined by new update and intrustive comments - completely destroys the flow and concentration. At least give us the option to turn it OFF

My wife and I play every day. We love it. Only small issue we hope can be fixed is the zoom in once you play but no auto zoom out if you are just testing. That’s a bit painful.
great, when it wants to work
this app is a lot of fun, and when it is working, it is awesome! easy to play against the computer, and easy to connect with friends to play. i used to be an avid nyt games player, but now enjoy this app more than the other games. lots of fun! :) however, the app has progressively gotten worse: -when versing friends, sometimes after u make a play, the app will freeze. as such, u have to restart the app. -restarting will result in the same letters being given to you. this means u essentially cannot make any new words, as u have the same letters. it also means, if u do make a word w those letters, u are often repeating words for high points. -it has starting taking FOREVER to load between plays when versing friends, even when u and the friend are right next to each other. sometimes it takes up to five mins for one device to register that the other person on their device has played their word. these issues need to be updated asap to make the player experience even better. thanks!
They Paywalled the Best Part of the App
Great word game to play with friends. The best part for me and my friends was checking the crossbot at the end of each game to see what the myself or the other player did or could have done at each point during the game.
