What people like
- Commentary feels intelligent and respectful of golf
- Real-time leaderboard updates are very easy
- It is completely free to use
What they complain about
- Registration process is buggy and fails
- Live video streams keep crashing or freezing
- You can’t watch leaders without signing up
Amazing!
It was my first time at the golf and this app helped me keep track of everything and understand whats happening. helped a lot!
Coverage is weak at best - and never opens easily
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve deleted and re-downloaded this app and still I have problems just seeing featured groups. I don’t know why they can’t carry the regular coverage.
Fantastic coverage tv and radio 👏
Keep it up team
Updates
As I’m watching the Rory group this am, your stream stops and then won’t load all because you have a required update mid round of the group p,aging! This is very frustrating to those of us watching the streaming of the open! 2*
Limited viewing
Would be real nice to see the end of the tournament while traveling home after spending 4 days on the course. It is dreadful how hard media has made it to watch marquee events. They will eventually subscription us to death!
Solid app
Not quite as good as the Masters but definitely better than the PGA and US Opens, love the traditional aesthetics combined with a slick modern UI
Watch what ?
The live feed to watch doesn’t work. That stinks.
Working great
Need to set up a Onegolf account as far as I can see but once it’s working it’s great. No adverts and sensible commentators. You can pick a group and follow that all the way round.
Live activities don’t work
Seems like a great app with lots of great features, only one problem…the live viewing for me won’t work. It was working, then it stopped and has not been fixed.
Lee
Took forever to get registered add to sign in. I’m still not sure if I’m in one club or not! Very cumbersome and slow — to difficult.
Open App
Homus Erectus
Not a professional tournament
disgraceful to golf
Good app but issues in 2022
Normally an excellent app but there were issues in 2022 in my view. 1: Turning my phone to landscape to view round score details threw me out the app. 2: Why was there no player profile? Simple bio should have been easy to do. 3: Wasted effort to provide news reports which I never read. Let news channels do that. 4: Confusing tab titles- Scoring should have been Leaderboard. 5: Player search not obvious.
Live Radio Keeps Crashing
Live radio plays briefly and keeps crashing. Fix your app!
It’s ok
They could adopt something’s from the Masters app, such as showing where players are on the course. And it can be tricky to navigate. The is an additional application with Mastercard and you have switch between the two. It is not clear which does what. However there are some great content: vignettes; and it looks great.
Better than last year!
Truly excellent. Full of great features. Following a featured group live on video just adds to the experience.
Video coverage down
For the 2nd day in a row, the app throws an error message when trying to watch coverage. Even after the update. Funny how the merch shop still works, though.
The open live
Nice to watch the open with intelligent commentary, really fed up with the American coverage…they just don’t get it…they talk constantly yet don’t say anything worthwhile….thx for allowing us to watch your live streaming…what a breath of fresh air…
App is struggling
I want to like it and ready for the tourney but it’s getting more and more buggy and keeps throwing 403 errors when trying to watch videos and coverage media. Hope they fix this before the tourney starts.
Sad about minimum groups to watch
Not as good as Augusta, not as good as the U.S. Open. And the reason for that is because they’re only offering two showcases of groups and not even the leaders can be seen. I think that’s downright disgusting. I’m a huge Golf fan and severely disappointed and how they’ve handled this.
Featured Groups
Excellent coverage to appreciate every shot hit by three professionals, rather than edited highlights showing only the best shots, seeing the pros struggling recovering and getting the ball up and down is a sheer delight. This is how golf should be enjoyed. Wonderful.
This app is a Bogey
The app live feed crashes and won’t reload the live feed. Pretty terrible app if you ask me. Don’t trust watching much golf on this app.
Great app but Not working second day!! Please fix this ASAP.
Please fix
Well designed but limited live feeds
Championship Sunday and the live feeds (in the US) only follow some middle of the pack players and a par 3 camera. The leaders are on the course, but you won’t get to see them unless they’re on a par 3. Add a broadcast channel to fix this large hole in coverage.
Time-out issues
Video and audio feeds time out frequently. Love the coverage though!
Coverage
Brilliantly coverage, great app
Idiotic
Only first two letters of last name show on Leaderboard although I can see scores for Rounds 2,3, and 4 on day 1. Not user friendly
Great App but needs to add flags
Please add nationality flags on the players names on the scorecard. Everything else is great but this is a large part overlooked.
Not great
The other major championship apps are much better than this. No coverage of final group and you have to sign up to various conditions just to watch non contenders. Poor!
Can’t find
Great but where is leader board?
BanditStash
Not much more to add to the other 5 Star reviews as all it would be is redundant! Simply bravo! 💪
Can’t Register to Watch
Downloaded the app and to see any live groups it’s requiring registration. However the registration process throws errors every time I attempt to complete. Terrible process.
Much improved
I've be complaining about this app for a number of years now. Would just end up having to delete it. The 2016 Open version is much improved. Streaming to Apple TV worked very well. Really enjoyed the coverage since we cut the cable years ago. Only complaint I would have is that when the final pairing hit the course they should have become the feature group, especially on the last day. What an Open it was this year. Looking forward to next year. Don't mess with this app too much.
Data Broker
To watch any of the marquee groups or live action on the app? Then you’ll be sharing your information with data brokers. Thank you very much ti the R&A! Me… I won’t be watching.
Shotview?
Great idea but where is it? And where’s the live streams? working earlier - not now though. Very frustrating
Incredible App for FREE
What a great app for following the Open. I can’t believe how good it is and the fact it’s free is brilliant
Can’t register
Can’t watch live coverage without registering. Getting an error message when trying to register
Sound doesn't work
Nice pictures, but no sound on the live coverage. Not sure if there's actual commentary, but even ambient/crowd noise would be nice.
So poor compared to US apps
Constant updates. Poor presentation. Difficult navigation.
Missing some features other majors have
Missing some of the features the apps of the other majors have like hole stats and shot by shot for the players
Radio and Live TV don’t continue to play
The first round radio or live tv doesn’t stay on for more than 5-10 minutes. Very annoying to have it cut out during a key moment in the tournament.
A Disaster
Absolutely the worst sports app I’ve ever encountered. Didn’t used to be, but some genius thought it would be better to slash the tires and salt the engine of this baby and she’s now a certified clunker. Impossible to understand why they did this to the app.
Videos crashes
Some highlight videos crashes.
Login error
I’ve tried to log in 20 times and still nothin!!! Helppp
Tried to Sign Up …
For the One Club with no success 😞
Leaderboard
Really easy to access the real time leaderboard
Connection issues
If you are not at home and not on WiFi it is almost impossible to watch the championship. Something is always “wrong” with the connection and you can try and deleting the app and redownloading but it only temporarily fixes the issue and then you’re right back to square one.
Off to a rough start
Keeps freezing the video and you have to close out. Sign up process was very buggy as well.
Don’t update if you have favourites saved
App is good but no shot tracking. Constant updates during tournament keeps removing my favourites
