As of August 30, 2026, App crashes when you’re nearly finished with the first puzzle. I was able to complete the next two puzzles with no problem. Today (8/31/2026) the first puzzle reverted to the 8/30 puzzle and crashed again. The other two puzzles (medium and hard) worked fine.

I deleted this app for a while and recently reinstalled it. I like the puzzles and am enjoying them once again.
Normally ok
Has too many ads, but worse, I’m having an issue with the app closing in the middle of the game for no reason. When I restart, the work I did on the puzzle has disappeared. Started over and it closed again. What’s up with that?

For two days in a row the easy puzzle is the same and kicks me out on the word scar.

I paid for no ads years ago. Now as of yesterday I get ads!! Unacceptable.
Great game vs too many ads
The game is a five star except for the number of ads. Before a puzzle, after a puzzle, ad to see your errors, ad for each hint, even an ad to review your completed puzzle. I get the need for ads, you gotta pay somehow but ease up a bit.
Doesn't always work
The app is great when it works, but most of the time now it just gets stuck on the advertisements and you watch the ad then it does nothing which then makes you close the app and reopen it and try again and watch it again for another three minutes. Time to move onto another app.
Repetitive
Great game but I noticed a lot of the same clues in different puzzles. A change up of clues would be nice.

The ads are too long. Much too long and boring. People know in an instance if the add interests them. No need to go on and on and on. Some of the puzzles are crazy and use words that no one knows or ever heard of.
Closing
App closes in the middle of puzzle and you lose it all
UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW
I have since found out all the glitches were due to an Apple update. Apple has installed a new update that resolved all the issues users were experiencing. I was actually informed about this Apple software update glitch by another app tech support. As soon as the new update became available, I installed. This app is now running as usual. The only thing new that will not go away is an ad that pops up before I can play the daily crossword. Never have I had to watch an ad to play the daily…what’s up with that? Why do I have to have a tutorial about the home page EVERY time I open the app? I can understand the first time after an update, but every single time? And why all of the sudden is there sound? I don’t need to hear every letter I type! I turn off sound, but it’s back every time I open app. It used to save all my preferences, such as medium puzzle and no sound, but not anymore. Getting so annoying I’m looking for another app!

Puzzles would be great if it was possibly to choose which word to do next. Your set up often blocks doing a connecting word that would furnish a clue. ITSG puzzles on Samsung phones allow this and are much preferred.

Puzzle resets after thirty seconds
I was a PAID subscriber, this morning the puzzle closes after thirty seconds and resets the puzzle. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

I ‘ve enjoyed the Crosswords, however, very frustrating to have to watch so many ads- previously, I had enjoyed over 800 crosswords until I got so upset, I deleted the app! I’ve recently gone back to this app, but still have to wait until the ads are over which takes longer than before! Regards, Vince

Ease of use is five star but some of the clues are way off base. For example, the clue “presently” had a solution of soon and the clue “propellant” spray can had an answer of aerosol which is not a propellant but rather a mixture of such.

Scam?
Downloaded the app. Every time I click on start for my supposedly daily puzzle I get an ad that I cannot get out of without closing the app. I’ve tried this now five different times with the same results. Now deleting the app.

I love this app, had to reinstall because old one ran out. I’ve played these for years before I get out of bed in the morning. When I had to delete it I felt list! But then I found the update on the App Store. HURRAY! ❤️❤️❤️

Too American
It's a fine app, but clues & answers are too American, often a different language from ENGLISH English. I was using the British "Clean Crosswords" app, but it failed with the event of iOS 9, and they haven't bothered to fix it. So we're stuck with USA English. Wish there was a "neutral" English.
