Oasis
A better app bc it shows you ingredients, chemicals compounds,…. And what are the better choices to make to be in your best health
Doesn’t have anything in Canada, wasted 65 bucks
Started the 3 day trial and it took 65 bucks from me instantly, no refunds and scammed me, don’t even have items to scan in Canada and it’s all ai not trustworthy
Money wasted
Since I bought the Pro version, everything I start searching or scanning shows as under review or not available. If your database isn’t updated, what’s the point of buying the Pro version of this app?
Need meticulous structuring
The app has a variety of products that it hosts and scores, but the criteria for such scores isn’t clear. A lot of products are marked as tested and hence have scores, and some others are marked as untested and still scored, through which criteria I’m unsure about. The lab tested filter also only shows extremely limited results. I scanned a skincare product I have been using and this app gave it a 27/100, but when checked for the detailed reason some of the ingredients are marked as not being food safe and hence affecting the score. This happens on multiple instances where ingredients used across various categories overlap and gives out confusing results. They also need to work on the categories of their product database to include more categories to sort the available products. Some products come under various categories and oftentimes irrelevant ones. An instant ramen under utensils is questionable categorisation at best. Don’t get me wrong, this app does have its uses in check out some products like Air Purifiers and such but it still needs a lot of work if it’s to be viable with most other products, especially at that price point. The price is also too steep for such a lacking application. I do understand that them doing independent testing cost a lot of money but at this pricing the average consumer would find it too much especially since there’s no monthly payments available. These are all the reasons I give it a three star rating but this will change if they manage to address all of the issues with their application. This is a great concept and has amazing potential but it has been executed too soon without enough planning is what I feel. Good luck to the team.
Best source of information!
Independent source of truth about food an water toxicity. Make informed decitions, everybody!
US-centric money grab
Tap water data is not available for display in the app outside of the US despite most municipalities posting this data openly online. I don’t know why it’s marketed outside US.
Yuka para guiris
Es como yuka, solo que te cobra para poder acceder a un montón de opciones que yuka te las da gratis.
Honest Review: Great concept, BUT…
Great concept that deserves support. I’d like to encourage the developer to change their approach however; 1 ) There are only 50 products which have been lab tested included in the free version. While that likely wasn’t cheap for the developer to get that testing done - unless you live in the U.S. or shop at CostCo - the app isn’t likely to help at the level of lab tests yet. It does provide general health info based on listed ingredients for a wide range of products however. 2 ) The up-sell comes before we’ve had a chance to try the app and it’s not obvious (top right) that it can be bypassed: “3 days free then $47.99 annually”. Not cool that a monthly option isn’t given… so you’ve got people in countries where the app is nearly useless in terms of lab-tests - paying an annual fee up front. 3 days also isn’t a real trial either. That’s one shopping trip realistically. [Pro-tip: Whenever signing up for a free trial - unless you’re sure you want to continue; go into subscriptions and cancel immediately. It’ll work but not renew.] 3 ) Much of the app requires an upgrade to be useful…. yet it’s opaque whether upgrading will actually yield a lab-test for the product one is looking at. Again - no monthly option. It’s an expensive (for an app) gamble if someone is looking for lab-test for only one or two products - then upgrades, only to find those tests are not present. Most people don’t know they can cancel immediately to avoid the charge. 4 ) The request to rate the app comes at a point where the user has fallen in love with the idea - but has never used the app. That’s probably a widespread practice - as few people will come back to rate an app later without a prompt - but it doesn’t result in honest / realistic ratings. Better to prompt users after they’ve used the app multiple times. This could be an excellent app when the issues above are addressed. I’d encourage the developer to halve the annual price - to go for a broader base. Also; Offer a one month trial; Feels less scamy and most will continue if the price is fair. Don’t expect your early users to foot the bill for making the product more broadly useful. That will only hurt ratings / reviews. Keep up the great work!
Thank you and keep going
Thank you for standing against corruption and speaking the truth even tho it has impacted you and countless other negatively. I pray you continue to grow and share more and more
Misleading
Lots of social media ads for promoting “free lab test results” but in actuality the first 3 days are free then requires an annual subscription. Could be more clear about pricing up front.
Misleading
Automatically tries to make you give it a five star review, scammy to get you to pay $50. YUKA is a much more beneficial, not sponsored, “influencer” or AI pushed.
The information is great but the app is poor
I like the content and the volume of content on the app but it’s very glitchy. I tried looking up my city 3 times and it won’t load
Update
So far it’s been great, can’t wait to explore and use app more!
Free trial charged me for a full year
Signed up for the advertised three-day free trial of Oasis Pro on July 24. Cancelled the same day, hours after signing up. Was still billed $61.95 for a full annual subscription. My subscription page now shows “You’ve cancelled your subscription” and a paid term running to July 2027 at the same time. So the annual charge went through before the trial was ever honoured. The payment declined because my account was empty, which then locked me out of App Store downloads until I paid for a product I cancelled on day one and never opened. Currently waiting on a refund decision from Apple. Check exactly what you’re agreeing to before you tap confirm on the trial. One star until this is made right.
Camera
Camera doesn’t work, it’s just a black screen, can’t scan anything
Very lame app
Offers only a 3 day trial then you have to pay $47.99 !! Really does not work well plus most all is tailored to the us not CANADA! Very misleading and LAME app!!
Misleading
It is not free anything on the app requires a pricey subscription. Don’t download
Account
They force you to make an account. Nope. I’m out.
SCAM
Very disappointing experience with Oasis. The results feel biased and often don’t make sense. It’s hard to trust an app that claims to be objective but delivers such inconsistent information. Overall, not reliable.
You have to pay for every
Whats the point of the app if you have to pay to view anything??
Only for Americans
I’m Canadian and really wish I could use an app like this, but every food product listed is based off of the American versions which obviously have nutritional differences from Canadian or European versions, making this app pretty unreliable for a non-American who wants to scan the foods in their country. If they worked towards adding foods and menu items that non-Americans have regularly as well as international variants of American items, then I would LOVE to use this app.
No reason to read to pay for this
J
Bate & Switch
They ask for a review before you can even use the app, hoping that you just give it 5 stars. That’s shady. Any 5 star rating is meaningless. You can’t even test out the app with a free trial. That means the app is garbage and you won’t find out until you’ve paid for it. Shame on them.
