Best skin care app
I love everything about this app. I have learned so much about my own skin and have found people who are supportive and knowledgeable.
Scammy free trial
Free trial scam! I just wanted to try out the app. My Apple account was frozen due to lack of funds until I coughed up the $60 for a yearly subscription. When I disputed the charge with Apple I lost. I think I had tried the app already and forgotten about it. But I needed that money for food and wasn’t given a refund for something I did not use. Don’t be like me, stay away from this app.

This app is amazing! The only bad thing is that you have to buy to know what you should use for the peerfect match other than that it is awsome’
Not correct information
Some info was incorrect the products my dermatologist recommended to me which helped my skin were labeled wrong on this app.

I love this app! Love knowing exactly what I am putting on my skin by scanning all the ingredients in products. It is also helping me realize you don’t need to spend a fortune for good skincare and makeup!
Deleted My Review
So I recently made a review because I noticed that the Amazon product linked was a fake and recommended people to buy from the official store and in three minutes of me publishing the deleted so it feels like this company is making money through commission through their links and it’s not transparent with the customers/reviewers.
Heart it
It’s beneficial. Enter your skin issues and what your skin goals are. It helps break down all ingredients you’re unfamiliar with to let you know if it’s a good match by percentage. I use it for products I already own and I’d say it’s pretty accurate on the results shown and love that it helps me know if it’s good on my skin type to get the results I want and for my skin issues and for skin goals on products I’m curious and want to purchase!

Disapointed
Update is really a downgrade
Before this update, every time you clicked on the coloured bar that showed the overall score of the product, you could also see a compatibility rating (excellent, good, neautral etc) for your skin type (I have combination). Not sure why this feature wasn’t kept consistently with all products.
Saved My Skin
For years I never knew what to put on my skin. There’s thousands of products, hundreds of different skin types and combinations, dermatologists are expensive, skinfluencers can lie and promote scams, and it can be so daunting you don’t even know where to start. When googling certain products, skin sort consistently came up as the top result with tons of helpful information. I finally caved and got the app and it helped SO MUCH to find products that work for me. I have fungal acne, psoriasis, and sensitive skin. So it helped to narrow down exact products that will work for me
Worst app ever
The app asks to do a free trial when you open it up for the first time. Personally, I did not find this app useful so I deleted it but I forgot that it would charge me after the trial is over. I tried to get a refund through Apple as soon as I saw the charge but apparently this app is not eligible for refunds so now I’m stuck with a $60 charge on something that I will never use.
app issues
i really love this app as it’s helped me with my skincare journey/routine in helping me find products that works for my skin. i also really love that you’re able to leave reviews on products and view other people’s reviews as well so you get a better understanding of what products are good. however the app seems to have this weird issues whenever i search up a specific brand or product and i will click on a product, scroll down a little, click on another product, and when i return back to keep scrolling it will send me straight back to the beginning of products i’ve already seen. then im forced to scroll back down and remember where i left off and it can get annoying especially when ive scrolled down a long way and then i have to try and see where i left off looking.
Not accurate
At first I was really impressed with this app. Then I started comparing info listed for items with the manufacturer info and SkinSort has so much inaccurate info. Also not impressed with the recommendations for “dupes”.
Decent app
I like the app overall. I wish it provided more insights based on the products you use. I also wish you could track when you open and finish products etc. but overall it is one of the better skin apps

Does not show routine conflicts
I really really, really wanted to like this app, however it does not show conflicts between products in your routine as you choose what to apply every day. I prefer an active notification to let me know when I shouldn’t combine different products in the same routine. Incredibly disappointed.
Future is Bright!
My husband is a chemist and checks my products. This app was amazing because he could mark things that he’s already researched and deemed bad and I didn’t have to bother him to look at every product I was considering! Saved SO much time! Excited for updates and growth!
wishlist is gone
technically like this app. however i noticed that suddenly my wishlist was completely empty. really annoying since i’ve been using this app for months and had a lot of products saved. all gone now. thanks for nothing i guess?
Loved it at first!
I loved this app at first, so much so that I paid for a year’s subscription because it was so great! But suddenly today it was showing me a completely different rating for certain products that I know for a fact matched 100% for me and I haven’t changed anything in my profile. Now I can’t trust it which irritates me since I paid for it. 😑🤦🏻♀️

Pointless
Sadly, this is advertised to help people who are not as familiar with skin care, ingredients, and regiments and does not deliver. They market they will give you assistance in building a regimen when they just share dupe options for what you’re already using.
Great but not perfect
This app seems pretty clearly vibe-coded with all the kinds of bugs that you would normally see in a vibe-coded app (buttons not working or only working sporadically, etc.). If they can hire just one skilled developer, I bet they could polish it up quickly! I wish there were more products in the app, but I know that takes time—I buy the majority of my skincare from Jolse, and a good portion of their stock is not in the app. Some of the suggested ordering is weird too, especially for makeup. It told me to use BB cream BEFORE primer? I think some tweaking there could help. I'd love to be able to reference the list because I do sometimes get overwhelmed and skip steps in my routine accidentally. Otherwise, really like the app and think it has great potential!
Questionable ethics
To suggest a perfectly good SPF with no “bad” ingredients is a 0% match for me, based on a few questions, is absurd and makes me question the whole app, let alone wanting to buy premium. My skin is normal, and looks pretty good, no acne etc. so a 0% match makes no sense. Clearly fear mongering to get you to buy premium, whilst potentially harming users if it gets them to switch away from products that help them.
Changes in ratings
During my trial, I checked all my skin care products and made changes accordingly to your recommendations and purchased those products, after becoming a member I rescanned the new products only to see that their rating changed drastically and no longer recommended or has received a much lower rating than originally . My trust has been affected…

This app is so good, i can look at ingredients and it tells me about them in-depth. I’ve been trying to find something like this for a WHILE! Definitely recommend!!!!
Overpriced Search Engine
I really wanted to like SkinSort, but it ended up being a disappointment. The app feels like a stripped-down search engine. It’s less useful than just looking things up on Google or even browsing Reddit, where you get a wider range of users’ experiences and opinions. One of the biggest issues is how misleading it is about creating a “routine.” That feature is either extremely limited or just not actually functional in a meaningful way. I expected something personalized and helpful, but it didn’t deliver. There’s also no consideration for budget when suggesting products, which makes the recommendations feel out of touch and impractical. For something that’s paid, I expected a lot more value and usability. Overall, it feels overpriced for what it offers, and I honestly regret paying for it. I wish I could get a refund.
The only skincare app that’s trustworthy
I’m usually very skeptical & completely steer away from skincare apps as they tend to have a lot of misinformation and flag things up as dangerous without taking into account formula, purpose & product etc. However I have been really enjoying this app & the community of people on there. It’s really easy and effective to use and is based off a lot of up to date science-backed information! I deducted one star as I don’t LOVE the scoring system, I’ve noticed scores for products going up if I say that I like an ingredient that’s in it, instead of the score purely being off of the compatibility of the product & my skin - you can’t completely rely on scores from apps as like I said earlier you have to take into account different variables that aren’t necessarily processed by the scoring system. However this is definitely my favourite (& only!) skincare app. :)

I really love this app and want to continue to love this app but I really dislike subscription services :(( I rather pay one off premium for an app instead than subscription

This app helped me understand my skin and figure out what products I should be using and shouldn’t. This app is amazing if you want to find out what is best for your skin and not hurting it.
How do I cancel my subscription?
This app makes it nearly impossible to cancel your free trial.
Love the concept but it’s buggy
Just paid for the app and turns out it’s buggy. The explore tab is the only page that works. Please fix!
Great app but buggy
Huge fan of SkinSort, but the app often doesn’t successfully load search results or product reviews. They might briefly flash on screen, but won’t load even if searched for again, or going a page backwards and forwards again. I either have to re-launch the app, or (more often) resort to using the website since it’s much more reliable.
Can be misleading
Overall it’s a cool aggregator of information, but it can present it in a really misleading way—especially in the personalized scoring feature. As someone with extremely sensitive skin, this tool seemed initially a godsend, but when I tried using products that scored 90%+ for me, the results were horrible. My skin was burning and inflamed when using a popular product the app recommended to me. When instead I used a product that scored in the red < 50% for suitability, my skin felt much better. For laymen like me, I think it’s best to use this app just to check for ingredients, but don’t follow its advice. Save your money for a dermatologist.
Love this app!!!
I absolutely love this app. I believe that everyone should be using this. It’s completely free and whenever I am like this looks cool. I can tell me negative things or positive and what I love is their motto we work for your skin not for brands like it’s good to find an app like that not covering up anything. The only thing it covers up is those pimples it helps very much
Disappointing
Wanted to love this but it has major flaws. Great concept but search filters are almost useless – returning too many or too few results – and features for finding better alternatives to current products do not work at all because they compare product similarity, meaning recommendations reproduce the flaws it has already identified in your current routine. Might be better for scanning products in store, but to plan a routine this is a real let-down. Canceled my trial very quickly.

Missing my fav features :(
I absolutely love Skin Sort and have used their online platform for years to check product ingredients as someone with highly sensitive skin!! I’ve been dying for them to release an app, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have the features I use most. I can’t seem to find the scanner, and I can’t find a copy paste ingredient checker anywhere!! Without these key features present or even front facing, I probably won’t use the app, but will continue to check bc I love what this company does.
In theory, this app is brilliant
But so far, the 100% match suggestions aren’t anything i can find to buy. Not sure if the info is outdated or if it’s because i’m in America. But i can’t find anything i want to try. Some are amazon links & amazon doesn’t sell any of them. It’s pretty discouraging after having so much hope when i found this app. In some ways the design of this app is better the the rest, but in other ways it’s a little clunky. Like when you have something in your routine that isn’t great, so you go to see the dupes, and it gives you dupes of the not-great product instead of better matches. I’m going to keep trying but so far i’m frustrated this isn’t working for me. :/

The price point of this app being $6/year is steep and outrageous for research you can do for free. What I’m even more upset about is that they advertised a 7 day free trial period just to charge $60 on my card even though I cancelled the app days before the week ended.

OVERVIEW: Great app: includes ingredient breakdowns, skincare tailored towards specific concerns, and product dupes based on pricing and ingredients. I go through an obscene amount of sifting through product reviews to search for the perfect fit for my skin routine. On a whim, I thought I’d try a free trial of this app. I’m really bad at canceling subscriptions, but didn’t cancel and paid for the full year (there’s a subscription refund available) and decided to keep perusing SkinSort. What I’ve found is a really kind, and articulate little skincare community. Lately, I’ve been really wrapped up in building reviews as well as commenting on others’ reviews too. What I wish for this app moving forward is that reviews remain unbiased and NOT incentivized. I’ve been influenced enough and I just want honest reviews. Buggy App
The app’s search feature used to work better. Not it has a lot of bugs which is annoying since I paid for the premium so that it allows me to view my searches by best match. Now their search engine doesn’t even search properly and shows 0 matches even though the auto fill detects a couple matches. Not sure if there’s issues with whatever database or API they’re using to search products but it’s definitely not properly showing all matches. Because what do you mean, if I simply toggle on the foundation filter, it only shows me 25 results??? Make it make sense. Please fix the app, because otherwise it feels I’ve simply been scammed of my money. And I really truly did enjoy using this app before.
Super good... but
I do really like this app, I think it's a really good idea, I love how there's a community and it helps keep a diary and track of your skin's ups and downs, but it doesn't have that many products available to add to your routine, so I can't keep track of what I'm using. I also can only use the scanner a couple amount of times before it tells me I have to go premium.
I do not understand the rating system on this app
It makes no sense… I tell it my skin can’t handle niacinamide, yet it tells me a product, that has a whole load of niacinamide all up in it, is a 100% match for me… HOW?! That should make it a 0% match. It makes no sense. Impossible to see if oil cleansers rate good or not as all the ingredients are flagged for if you would be leaving them on your skin, but it’s a wash off category… Good to use to see ingredients without having to copy and paste, but it really needs some work.
