Latest update has broken my system
System updated a week ago. Lost connection with ev charger. State that is is offline despite when reconnecting and saying it was connected but status says otherwise. Tried to reboot entire system to make sure firmware was embedded ok. Not the data logger is now stating it is off line. Despite getting all the live data for the house and pv panels. On top off all this the vpp controls have stopped updating and now are stuck on the same daily cycle and do not update to the data. To make this worse the morning cycle is stuck on a force charge, which is costing money when it would normally charges on solar.
Modes could do more
I have set my battery to start charging during peak hours. Usually that’s good enough but I would like an option which exports only when the battery is charged to a certain percentage, ie 20%, so I don’t have to import before noon when it’s charged fully to ease the grid.
Not user friendly
It's too techy and not easy to set up with your existing suppliers tariff. Should be overhauled.
Would be great if it worked consistently
The app looks nice and functions well, when it works. I'm getting constant "Plant does not exist or was not created by this account" errors when trying to access any page. Refreshing a few times appears to fix it, so it doesn't actually seem like a permission error. Please resolve this issue! Other than that, the ability to set a max discharge rate from the grid would be nice, as with an EV and home battery charging, with an AC on nears the 63A limit for most single-phase Australian homes.
Easy read and update frequency
The app is very good to understand, easy to setup. Fox update is faster
AI nobody asked for and offers no value
Someone at Fox has heard about AI and thought you better stick a permanent button in the way, on my home screen even though it offers zero value to customers. Remove that stupid fox icon from my screen. Don’t stick an AI chat bot that nobody wants in the first place.
Seems to work fine
Those who are whingeing about the app not working properly probably need to update their device firmware. After I did so, I’m getting live data reliably.

App works well data supply takes some getting used to data analysis could be more user controld. The big bug that needs to be fixed is the refresh time from inverter to the cloud and back to app 30 min + round trip in uk” why not include a direct Wi-Fi link to inverter to app” I have consulted with fox direct they looked at my inverter Wi-Fi dongle and app and say it’s all updated yet we still have a 30min round trip.
Password
When we first had this app it was working ok showing all my readings, now it’s asking me for a password ! I have no knowledge of using one from the beginning, so l cannot open the app up , and can’t move forward

Recent upgrade destroyed app
For me, I liked to see how each panel array was doing. Prior to the latest update, it was easy to check the generation. After the update, it becomes much harder to go into detailed parameters. It also doesn’t get updated for ages. The app used to be fine before. Please revert it back to where only 3 clicks were needed to check detailed parameters which was also updated more frequently.
The latest update has lost the forest
I’ve got used to the new v2 format now, so that’s good, but since the latest update there hasn’t been anything to collect towards planting a tree in the forest. Will this be coming back
Variable function
When it works it’s fine but after updates the App often won’t connect. Very frustrating.

Be careful when adding a tarif plan as data collected with an incorrect plan cannot be removed which will affect all future data.
Just keeps getting better
This app has come a long way since I first started using it. The app refresh now updates in seconds, close to a real time view of parameters.The functionality, and graphics are excellent. The addition of the Sankey flow diagram is a great way to quickly understand where the energy in the system is flowing. My foxess battery, inverter and EV charger integrate perfectly. Can’t think of anything I would change. Thanks to the devs for the continuous improvement.

App useless more times than useful… what more can I say
Graphic display
The latest display of “Stastics” (should be “Statistics”!) separates out the energy data from the SOC curve. This means both are smaller scale. Much better when SOC overlaid the energy data and both had more definition on the vertical axis. Please consider to revert to earlier style of display.
Backward update
Foxcloud updated today and it’s now messed up how it displays on my iPad. Gone is the option to automatically rotate from my normal landscape to portrait orientation. It now forces portrait for the main screen and landscape for the detailed analysis. Please put it back to how it was before the 'update'.
Mode scheduler seems arbitrary
Not had this Fox ESS battery for very long. It seems that from other comments on forced charging has vanished and other says it’s moved to mode scheduler. Followed the instructions to the letter and it still won’t work. Ironically the manual mode by selecting back up works and this is dependent on me waking up early and remembering to toggle between self use and back up. Hence the title on mode scheduler as arbitrary, it says it on the screen but not actually doing it in action.

I really like that the updates seem to be genuine attempts to upgrade. Also like that you seem to listen to feedback. To which end one request from the current update; please get rid of the pop-up FAQ. Super-annoying!
Charging setup
I cannot setup the night charging from grid!That was available in quick sertings before at battery menu point but I cannot see it now!
Force discharge needs fix
The force discharge description was updated to say that it switches to self use after it reaches the %SOC threshold, but it still does not and therefore grid import occurs until the time period ends.
Superb
Complex transformed . Used to be glitchy but now brilliant. The mode schedule is superb. Can set my timings to charge and discharge multiple times during the day in a clear and easy to manage way . Well done developers . Took something issues but I love it now
App update doesn’t work with iOS 15.8.8
App updated and doesn’t work on my iPad which is used as home control system :-(. App keeps crashing, been rebooted, reinstalled etc.
Great app
I have had this app for a while and all the tweaks so far have been great. Could the app developers add more smart providers on the return for SEG. As there is only octopus on there. Can OVO and EDF etc be added so that it can calculate your return. Thanks.
Doesn’t work
This worked for a week when an upgrade came it stopped showing power generated. I would not recommend
Was Working Fine but….
Installed the App to monitor Solar Power Generation for my home. Initially worked well but now the illustration shows power from The Grid when I’m actually sending it in the opposite direction direction and it’s not showing how much is being generated by the roof panels. Temporary? I do hope so as I’m relying on it to claim back from my energy supplier.

I’ve found this app to be really useful, but you do need to ensure your firmware is up to date to ensure it works properly.
‘Gen load’ to PV
Same comment as Gravyguy 23 Dec PV as zero prevents meaningful analysis, if solar generation could be switched to PV in the app would solve it. The real time is a great improvement
Current Data Status
Updated app, updated design. The in, outs and battery data points have all moved which is a bit annoying, but my main concern is the current status of the data. Previously you would have a time register to know if the current values where up to date or not. (1 min ago etc. ) This information is no longer available so I cannot know if the data being presented is up to date or old. Please can you bring back some form of timer so we can acknowledge whether the data is current or 1 min ago, 2 mins ago etc. Thanks
Not able to control force charge
Generally this is a good app. However, for some reason I am no longer able to use the app to turn ‘force charge’ on or off as required. Why is this? and will this issue be fixed?
Informative and reliable so far
Only had it for a month but it’s been a responsive and insightful app. It’s promising to see updates happening showing that they are trying to listen to feedback.
Currently rubbish
As other people have said cannot charge batteries from grid at times required to be off peak Also has been plagued with glitches recently of not working Please put back to how it was a year ago so it will work for everyone
Some improvements
For forced discharge the app doesn’t allow user to set any power limits. Two limits( power limit in addition to SOC) are required which can benefit most of us. 1) Limit export to grid when forced discharge. 2) self use limit when forced discharge. Please add this feature in mod scheduler.
Info but poor control
I’ve had the batteries and app to control for several years and always found it good, I particularly liked the easy to understand and use interface for standing down the use in off peak hours and being able to either charge from the grid or not when the sun wasn’t shinning, or even only giving them an hours charge to maximise the solar use, however this app version is really poor in that department making the whole user interface difficult to use and understand, as you have no choice if you want to update or not and not being able to use the older version has led me to either flattening the batteries over night as the car charged and them not standing down or just not being able to find how to put them back to charge off peak, very poor as they assume everyone understands their settings when in reality some of us are not 100% tech savvy and the brief mode description on offer is poor and difficult to navigate, this app version only gets 2 stars because their tech support is usually ok although I don’t want to have to call all the time to do something that used to be simple and quick , give me the old app version any day even if it had less data which most people don’t really use.
Easy app to use but releases often have bugs
I find the app easy to use. A change a couple of months ago I find slightly less easy to use. I have given it 3 stars as I’ve only had the app about 8 months & there have been 3 releases which have significant bugs in. They really need to significantly improve their testing before releasing to their customers. A previous bug had it constantly filling up the battery and then selling back & then buying again & this happened for days before it was fixed. Today’s release has it not using the battery at all & on a nice sunny day old using from the grid. This could be a great app if it was bug free.

Force discharge function needs update
I have try to raise this via customer support, however haven’t received response in 2 months. Force discharge cut off feature will stop exporting to grid however it also stops discharging for self use which is a big flow in algorithm. There should be two flags 1) when you want to stop exporting to grid say at 20% 2) when you want to stop discharging from self use say 10%. So battery can be used overnight when SOC is between 20 and 10 instead of importing from grid.
When it works
It’s ok when it works. App changes have made usage more complicated. After the latest update it is not working with iOS. Cannot see changing or exporting. Really frustrating. The website seems not to be for private customers, but only installers and companies
Linking to octopus agile…..can’t put decimal point in the right place
App is great, but after linking via API to octopus to get feed in numbers, from manual setting the income number has gone haywire…876.57p I’m certain that despite clear blue skies that it’ll earn £876 in a day….

Hi Team, My electricity supplier cannot access the battery data from fox ess cloud. It says an update on firmware is required. Other than this app is great.
Display issues again
Yet again the display issue has reared its ugly head Completely messed up for an iPad This company appear to undertake no beta testing and checks before releasing both app updates and hardware updates
Issues of battery settings
The app is good to use. But why it doesn’t allow me to change System Max SOC? It’s default on 100% which is not good for battery life. My battery type is EQ4800. Can anyone please fix it?
Too Much Jargon
It gives you error info but doesn’t explain what any of it means or offer any options on resolution. I had to google everything. Other than that it’s fine.
Updated app not the same
Why since updating has the solar battery (%) level disappeared on the main page. That’s the most interesting statistic and the one we always look at.
