Excellent
I’m very happy with the service. It help me a lot to make recordings of the noise caused by the premises under my flat and reporting it on Brent council nuisance team. I really recommend this app for people who suffer with noise pollution, especially when the noise levels disturbs your sleep time.
1 Star
I used this app to report an ongoing noise issue that is seriously affecting my home life, sleep and ability to work from home. Unfortunately, my experience has been very poor. The main problem is that not all noise nuisance can be captured properly on a phone microphone. In my case, the issue is constant thudding and low frequency noise that is very obvious inside the property, but does not record accurately through the app. Family and friends who have visited have also heard it, so this is not just a minor or imagined issue. Despite the noise still continuing, my case was marked as closed. I found this really frustrating because the app seems to rely heavily on phone recordings, even when the type of noise being reported does not come through properly on a phone. The app may be useful for loud music or clear shouting, but in my experience it is not suitable for low frequency thudding, vibration, or impact noise through walls. These types of noise can still be very distressing and disruptive, even if they do not show up well in a recording. I feel let down by the process. A case being closed through the app does not mean the problem has stopped. It just means the app has not captured it properly. I would not recommend relying on this app alone if you are dealing with ongoing neighbour noise, especially low frequency or impact noise.
Great but does not include generators
Seems to work really well. However two recommended improvements. 1/. Make provision to enter the duration later after noise has stopped so that an accurate time is made. And 2/. Add generator to list of sources. Otherwise great app.
Night mode please
I can’t be the only one using this app to report noise at an ungodly hour so what really doesn’t help is the bright white screen that blinds me whilst I’m also being deafened elsewhere. In addition to this, the screen will lock when recording. The one thing more annoying than your really loud neighbour is trying to record your really loud neighbour and the recording then getting lost because the app allowed your screen to lock.
Useless
Use this with my local authority. Have been recording a persistent offender for weeks and haven’t had any response at all. App is a great idea, but the council don’t appear to use it.
Reassuring
It's a great system. And reassuring that I can capture disturbances from my loud neighbour there and then without having to do emails etc
Unable to Use
Hi, My council “Royal Borough Of Greenwich” uses your App but I am unable to locate them on it. Have emailed you for support and heard nothing back, that was about a month ago.
Ok
Ok when it wants to work
Very disappointed
Last night was horrendously noisy because our neighbours were partying right under our bedroom window until 3am. When I found this app it gave me hope that we could finally capture them this time. I downloaded the app and made several attempts to record the noise, but when you play it back it can barely be heard even with the sound on maximum. I did everything as instructed and even had our window open. I am very disappointed because I’ve submitted it to our Environmental Protection Team within our council, but they won’t take our complaint seriously with our poor recording as evidence. It feels like a missed opportunity because if I had recorded it with my phones camera the recording is much clearer. I reported this to the app Support Team, so I will wait for their response and the reply from our Council.
Noise app recordings
This noise app I have used on many an occasion. Even with your phone case removed, the quality of recording is no where near the volume that you are enduring from a neighbour. Used for over 6 years and although a useful tool, not the best quality evidence to submit to whoever
Great
Helping with my noisy neighbours
Good idea but could not use it didn’t get past first screen on app
The app sounds like a great idea, but unfortunately I couldn’t use it because my local authority isn’t registered or listed. I was hoping the app would allow me to independently record and document excessive and continuous noise, such as loud music from a neighbour, and build a time-stamped record of incidents over a period of time. It would also be useful to have tools to show the frequency, duration and pattern of the noise, and potentially help make neighbours aware of the impact of their behaviour. The concept is excellent, but without support for my local authority, the app isn’t currently useful to me. It would be much better if residents could use the recording and evidence-building features regardless of whether their council is registered, with the option to submit the evidence to their authority separately. Hopefully this functionality can be expanded in future.
Only one recording before sending is a minus
Good so far, but you cannot choose between at least a few recordings to decide which is best to send. Sometimes i will cancel sending a recording only for the next recording to come out worse. Maybe the ability for the app to hold on to 10 recordings temporarily until you have decided to send one of them for your report after listening to each is reasonable?
Keeps logging me out after every recording
Every time the noise is bad and I click into the app, I have to re-enter my password every single time. Then when I finally get logged in, the noise stops. I’ve tried everything I can think of to stay logged in but nothing works
Couple of key flaws- should be easily fixed
Currently using this to provide evidence to the local council. Overall the app is good, but there’s two key flaws which makes capturing evidence difficult. 1. You can’t touch the screen during recording, otherwise it stops the recording. This should be restricted to just the central icon to avoid accidental stopping 2. If the phone locks due to no interaction during recording, the recording is “disrupted” and lost This means that if I want to record more than 20 seconds, I have to press the volume buttons every few seconds. It’s really frustrating and easy to forget. Hopefully these can be resolved
Very Good
Very quick to respond to questions and very helpful
Pointless if you are not council renting
We own our home and live next door to nightmare tenants of a private landlord. They subjected us to severe ASB which we recorded in the Noise App for a while year. Got no feedback or help so we were forced to do a ASB Case Review. It was still ignored. Then we discovered they didn’t bother to review it because we owned our home. In other words, a murdered could’ve happened, been documented, reported to the police and council and still be ignored.
Easy to use
The app is easy to use but the housing association I’m looking for doesn’t appear on the app
As the only app derby council use for noise pollution it is ok.
Difficult to use. No automatic record feature. No decibel or noise level feature. Message difficult to find. App has a few issues with no ability to send issues. If there was a different app I would have used it.
App needs a 16 digit password! Seriously??
App has signed me out (which it keeps doing), apparently needs a password reset. This now needs a 16 digit password. That’s more than any of my banking apps and when I get woken up by my noisy neighbours I somehow have to find or remember this password before the noise I’m trying to record stops happening. Completely stupid.
Good start but
Could be a bit more sensitive to sounds. Really loud banging does not seem to be recorded properly
Wouldn’t wast your time
Waste of time they don’t care
Now less than useless
I have used this app to report my noisy neighbours for over 2 years. Now there appears to be a fault as no sound is recording despite thumping base. I have had to resort to recording on voice memos as at least the noise can be heard on the recording
Untrustworthy
Since the latest update the playback on the app has been extremely quiet.
Terrible
The fact that this is the official app approved by the government is just sad. All noise gets dampened, there is way too much white noise/background static. It is awful. 9 months and still nothing getting done.
Completely useless
I started using this app 11th May 2026, and even though it didn’t show the echoing noise and loud thuds, but showed rather realistic levels of noise from music. However recently, it dampens all noise to the level that is not audible. In the building that I live, there’s a gym downstairs, the building has no noise/vibration insulation and the floor is just normal wood. It gets really loud in my home with their music and shakes with “weighted ball” slamming and dropping of the weights. The current version shows nothing, as if I am living in silence. The problem is that the council asks us to use this app for recording evidence. Absolutely useless.
