Useful and secure
I’ve been using proton pass for ages and it’s perfect for what it is. I recommend.
clunky
Poorly designed and not user friendly. They assume you know what they do when it comes to securing your online presence. Tip: WE DO NOT!!!
Proton Ecosystem Essential
Pretty good password manager. Bugs out when offline, which sucks because I sometimes need a password to log in. Other than that. Pretty good.
Needs work
I
Good, but sometimes unreliable
The app works pretty well for the most part, but there are times when the autofill function doesn’t work and for some reason the keyboard won’t appear when needed to input text into fields which makes for a frustrating experience. I’m going to give them a bit longer to get their act together and if things don’t change I’ll likely end my subscription.
Great
Useful
Iphone Update
Ever since the newest iphone update on the Pro Max 14 it has NOT WORKED AT ALL.
Easy Peasy
Update, proton pass isn't embedded in the mobile browser. It only sometimes works for apps, so often we'll have to flip back and forth from PP and app/browser to input pw/user. Proton pass is easy to use and has great functions but it doesn't flow seamlessly into mobile chrome like it does on the your laptop, desktop.
Signed out again
Please dont sign me out of my account it means the password manager stops working
Flexibility
Check boxes, select and move
Easy to use
Clean interface, easy to add logins and generate passwords, easy to access autofill
Terrible Products and Worse Support
I’ve tried for months to report an issue with Pass crashing the native Apple keyboard. One problem is the Feedback form in the app doesn’t work properly. The form itself expands past the screen after you attach a file so you can’t even see what you’re typing. Then you can’t even submit it because it says it’s not in JSON form. The other problem is even when I’ve gotten around that issue, they’ve only asked in turn ask me for a screenshot or recording…absolutely maddening. If you use other Proton products, you’re lucky if they work well enough to allow you to get anywhere. ProtonVPN connection stalls constantly…CONSTANTLY!! Proton Mail doesn’t let you type if there’s no connection (see VPN stalling). Mail can’t even format text on iPhone. Calendar is a joke of a program that can’t even hold attachments. It’s a miserable cycle being in this ecosystem. Their support sucks and their products are inferior to the point of making my smartphone worse than a landline. They just advertise bomb you to buy more of their accounts/products without being able to support their existing services.
Almost perfect
The only issue I have with it is that it often glitches when I try to create a new login entry on Brave
Hangs
Whenever I do anything that requires me to upgrade I get a blank page with only the spinning wheel of doom. That will continue into I do forced reboot of the app. I can’t use the app properly.
Blank screen
Just throwing blank screen on iPhone 17
Nice
Be smart. Use a password manager that isn’t built by the same software company that built your OS
not a fan of the freemium model
dont appreciate subscription model for this kind of thing.
OCaps
Needs more OCaps, more refined “bearer token” support
Unable to auto-gen passwords on iOS browers
Inability to auto-gen passwords on iOS browers made it essentially worthless. And every time when prompt to enter passwords, the native Google or Apple password manager also go ahead of Proton even when the natives are set to disable.
Would be five stars but the app frequently opens itself when my iPhone is locked.
Many times lately when I unlocked my iPhone, I’ve been greeted by an error message from Proton Pass that I failed the Face ID test and only have two more attempts. I have no idea what this is about. It only started recently. I made no changes to my settings.
Best-in-class.
This is far and away the best password manager I have ever used. Browser integration is perfect across all of my browsers, and I use a lot. iOS integration is also great but does require some effort to use this instead of Apple Passwords. I expect to be using this software for a long time.
Popup hell
Asks for review every time I add an entry. I had a lot of entries to add. Leaving a review did not stop it.
Great app has some bugs though
Really great password manager and the free version is good to its really secure and has many great features. I appreciate the cross platform integration, but the app can be a little bit finicky with safari so you might have to play around with autofill sometimes for it to work. But overall it’s really good at what it does!
Not doing its job anymore
Seems like the autofill feature barely works even on websites. Never works with apps and TOTP just doesn’t work on mobile. Have to always workaround and use autofill to find the code. Really wish this can be fixed
Please support Passkeys on macOS
It’s such a massive feature gap to not have support for Passkeys on macOS.
Great
Has a lot of good features. I am still new to it.

Great App - Would Love One Feature
Awesome password manager, very easy to use, seamless experience, and reputable team. Coming from Dashlane though, the one feature I’d love to see added is being able to view active sessions or signed in devices from the app and not having to log into the webapp from a browser.
A lot of features all in one. But one MAJOR flaw
Before Proton Pass I was using pCloud and Standard Notes as I need to have clients data encrypted for data protection and also sync between drives as I work from my home and office. Proton Pass seemed a better alternative as it had all the feature in one. I’ve used it for a week and it’d caused absolute chaos for my business, many angry customer and hours of my time wasted having to try to retrieve and match lost info. As a password manager it works just fine no better or worse that any other. I have the app set to not lock out until after 1 hour. Yet on 3 occasions I’ve left my desk for 5 minutes to make a drink and come back to find the app has timed out. On the Notes feature, Here is where the major flaw lies. This does not have auto save. You MUST always manually save. I don’t think I’ve used any text editor that does not have auto save. And they have this feature for a reason. On 3 occasions I’ve come back to my desk to find the app times out after just 5 minutes and all data typed out lost and goes back to the last time it was saved. This has led to me losing large amounts of customer info and notes that took me hours to try to fix. As much potential this app as whole has to be a great all in one. Until they implement auto save into notes editor I’m not going to risk it. I will return back to using pCloud and when proton implement auto save, like every other text editor on the planet has then I will most likely return to using them as everything else I like. But this this one thing is. A major flaw. It may only seem like a minor thing….. until you relalise the last hour of data you have inputted has gone and it causes you and absolute nightmare. We all forget to click save from time to time while mid work and to leave your desk for 5 minutes to find it all gone is such a bad flaw. For a company so well designed and established like Proton I’m amazed they’ve overlooked this. Please Proton, for the love of god, implement an auto save feature into your notes.
Bitwarden user perspective
As a current Bitwarden user, subscriber to Proton VPN, and user of the free versions of Proton Mail and Calendar, being limited to 2 vaults in the free version holds me back from migrating to Proton Pass. I have my passwords organized into folders in Bitwarden and don't want to migrate them into 1 or 2 Proton Pass vaults. If I decide to upgrade to the paid version in the future, I don't want the hassle of needing to go through all of my passwords and organize them into vaults later. Because of this, it's all or nothing - I start with the Plus version (which I’m not ready to do yet) or I don't use it at all. If you remove the limitation on the number of vaults in the free version you might get more users in my situation. Another thing that affects my adoption of Pass and other Proton apps in the ecosystem (through Unlimited) is Linux support. Lack of official support of flatpaks on Flathub is a disadvantage. Flatpaks allow Linux users to easily install apps regardless of distro and some distros (specifically immutable distros) heavily rely on flatpaks for software. I use one such distro. Proton apps are available on flathub but are put there by third party developers, so there’s a trust gap - something important for privacy and security software. A Linux version of Proton Drive also affects my decision on whether to subscribe to Unlimited in the future.
The Best Password Manager and Autofill App
I have been previously using other password managers with unconventional subscriptions. Since i have switched everything to Proton Pass , i have even got free features that i have previously paying for. The Sync Speed and Easy to Filter password makes it easy for managing credentials. I love the Document and Id files features too.
iOS 16 required
My iPhone with iOS 15 cannot use it anymore… very disappointed!
Great App. Would appreciate a heads up that you have to up an account recovery process
Amazing app. It even generated passwords for you! But I didn’t even know that to recover my account after loosing the password, I had to have set up something in my account. So I have now lost all my passwords permanently (as they encrypt the data, so even password recovery won’t get them back anymore). I understand the need to encrypt and keep the data hidden, but could there not have been more of a heads up for this situation? Like, I assumed I could just reset the password and all would be well. Perhaps to add a pop up for the app each time you open it, saying/reminding the user to set up the recovery process unless already done. I just want to warn and advise others to take the time to set up the account recovery process for their account while they can (before it’s too late and you lose or cant get in anymore).
It’s a sort-of Password Manager
It will generate a strong, random - or otherwise, password for you…… which you then have to store somewhere else. Seriously??!!! Who writes this stuff?! It’s the thought that counts, I guess.
Good app, importing 2fa sucks
After I initially set up the app I then tried to import my 2fa from Google. Every tutorial or search tells me go to settings then import, I’ve tried iOS and android I cannot find settings then import or another intuitive way to import on either my android or iOS devices. Make sure to import when you are prompted at the initial setup. I deleted the app and redownloaded hoping to get the setup prompts, they didn’t show up. So I gave up
Awesome add-in
Love Proton Pass. It integrates with web browsers all I’ve used in(safari, chrome, brave, Firefox) their app is simple it knows when a site or app is requesting a username/password. After having some accounts become compromised the time to switch to this was well worth it.
iOS 26 bottom sheet bug persists on v1.17.9!!
Please fix this. It’s a P0 in my mind. App version: v1.17.9 (20) (4382f456) Steps to repro on iOS 26 iPhone 17 Pro: 1. Open existing credential entry in Proton Pass 2. Click Edit 3. Clear out current password 4. Click on “generate new password” hint above keyboard 5. Bottom sheet opens but cannot be resized and sheet content is all overlaid in z-axis making it impossible to interact with any of it
Love proton pass
Does almost all things I need. Sometimes doesn’t play well with Apple apps for longs. But there are work around
Not ready for primetime
I have had Proton unlimited for years now, big believer in their products. Not Proton Pass though, at least not at this point. This still feels like a beta, and I’m not just talking about the ios app, it’s painful to use on PC. Constantly fails to save passwords or suggest new ones, the whole experience is just very inconsistent and very frustrating. I’ll check back in another 6 months and see where it’s at, but it’s essentially unusable at this point.
No cards, no addresses, extra ram usage
No cards, no addresses, extra ram usage Vs bitwarden Only extra feature is the anonymous email support Gui animations feel slow Feels less secure: vault doesn't autolock on desktop browsers, so it's not even locally encrypted?
Solid Performing Password Manager
I’ve been with 1Password for a long time and using Proton Pass alongside it as it matures. It’s getting a lot of the best features and the bugs out to where I’m going to use it exclusively and cancel my other subscription. If you’re on the fence, check this out!
Asks for rating too much
I love this app. I would have given it five stars had I not been asked to rate it three times in ten minutes. I don’t understand how that approach would lead to a higher average rating, but that’s not my problem.
Very good password manager
Impossible to find my free 10 mail aliases. It shows they are 10 but no way to show them to use them.
Missing web interface
I’m in the library on a public computer, so no ProtonPass extension installed. No way to get my password out of ProtonPass in those situations. You need to be able to log onto a proton pass website.
Not great
TBH I kind of regret switching from LastPass. Proton Pass freezes a lot, need to restart the browser on Mac or close the app on IOS
Pretty good
Best available for mobile but if you’re on laptop/pc it’s better to use Keepassxc
Be cautious
Simplelogin is a back door it will silently invalidate or delete your aliases without your confirmation if you unlink proton account or delete your simplelogin account
Great when it works
Passwords disappear often, and I get odd kit errors requiring me to sign out and back in again to reset. I want to love it, but these are frustrating bugs I never experienced with other solutions.
Pass
I have used Proton mail for years and when pass was launched I decided to temporarily move from Bitwarden to Proton Pass. There are three frustrating issues. 1. The app logs out after so many hours of not being used 2. Any setting or preference changed is reset to default like PIN codes. 3. After logging back in the auto fill function is still requesting login. This is a good application it just needs to stop resetting itself.
iPhone & iPad
When can I import from Keeper to Proton Pass on iPhone or iPad as I don’t have a computer?
