Good 2FA App
I’ve been using 2FAS for about 3 years, never had any problems with it. Very clean , there are no ads which I really appreciate. The backup function is really nice , I have it many different places just in case. I would advise anyone who is going to use this app to take some time to understand how the file backups work and maybe do a dry run. great app

Good concept but flawed
The push messages are really flaky. I receive the push message, but the app doesn’t always process it properly so it very rarely actually sends a TOTP back to the mac, so I have to manually type it like 80% of the time
Nice app but…
The prompt to review when I open it to get a code is an infuriating thing. Also, having to join a discord server just to suggest that maybe there should be an icon for a particular service or website?! Bah!
Loved it since early 2025
I got this app as part of my push to de-Google and have had no problems. It Just Works. It's great to have 2FA that isn't part of big tech, thank you developers!
Need to upgrade the app
If you lose your sign in code theirs no way to get a new one that’s not good. It automatically locks you out of everything you use 2FA for. Make the app so you can get a new code if you lose it. Without being able to get a new password once loss makes the app worthless and janky
a fine authenticator app
ui is clean, does its job. if i had a gripe about this app it would be how it takes a while for it to start showing real authenticator codes after the ui load, like a whole second needed, which is not horrifically slow, but absolutely annoying

Compromised
Everything about this security is garbage , it ruined my entire life because everything I own got hacked. New bank accounts, SECRET BROWSERS , and even my bank accounts.

Unable to set to light mode on iOS
I use dark mode for main iOS but would love the ability to switch appearance. The light dark option is not available which is a shame

The web extension does not work with Gmail. The codes are wrong every time. Very time consuming to have to manually type in codes. Please fix this.
Just remember to back up to iCloud!!!
This is your only path to recovery… so turn it on Otherwise this rocks!

Annoying review requests
I’m giving my usual two star review for any app that keeps sticking review requests in front of the functionality I’m looking for.
Great but unfortunate that they took so long to implement e2ee in iCloud.
It’s been several years since 2FAS was rejected by PrivacyGuides due to a botched implementation of end-to-end-encryption in iCloud backups. The fact that this was botched in the first place is troubling enough, but even worse is that it took 3 years to improve it. How many people were left at risk using the backup while 2FAS took their time to fix it? I like the app, but I am not confident the 2FAS team know what they’re doing in terms of privacy. Check threads on PrivacyGuides for deep details. It’s quite disappointing. Anyway, 2FAS has claimed to have released a fix in 2026, but that to my knowledge hasn’t been audited externally, so I still haven’t enabled iCloud backups.
Great but a question.
So far I have no issues, works as intended. I just had a question that is it possible for this app to loose all my auths or for the app to shut down, is this a possibility or do I not have to worry about loosing anything?
Accesses the camera
This app was accessing my camera at random times. Make sure you revoke camera access. Shady company.
Great app
This app is awesome. Only reason not to give 5 stars is that the widget stops working if I add a third service. It’s fine with 2 services, then when I add a third it just displays as if nothing is configured. Fix that and you’ve got 5 starts from me!
Not working
Such an inconvenience because it used to work but not it’s always saying “update in progress” when I try to generate a code.
Stopped working
It was great until it wasn’t. I tried to open, but it says it’s updating. For a week! I deleted from my phone and downloaded again, but same result: it doesn’t function. Try a different app, this one is unreliable.

Useful Authenticator however the Apple Watch app doesn’t update after reopening the next day resulting in an incorrect code, but otherwise is very useful

Ich war wirklich überzeugt von der App, bis ich jetzt ein Update gemacht habe und danach feststellen musste, dass alle hinterlegten Zugänge nicht mehr hinterlegt waren. Jetzt habe ich das Problem, dass ich heute nicht arbeiten konnte und die IT erstmal meinen Firmenacc zurücksetzen muss, damit ich diesen wieder bei der 2FA-App hinterlegen bzw verbinden kann. Was soll man dazu sagen 🤷♂️
iCloud sync
I did a factory reset on my phone because of storage issue and after I redownloaded, I can no longer do a sync backup. It just keeps popping up error. My extremely outdated iPad had no problem doing syncs, so I’m not sure what to do. I can import the tokens but I feel better knowing I’m able to sync. I’ve done everything too- shut down, hard shutdown, deleted iCloud backup, did a new iCloud backup, constantly uninstalling and reinstalling. I’m out of options. Other than this, I haven’t had an issue. It’s a good app.

“update”
It has been “updating” for MONTHS. I can not access my 2FA, I can’t even sign in with my accounts that have 2FA. Most secure thing can’t even fix.
Great app, one privacy issue
Went into the about section of in app settings so I could get the link to write a positive review, and saw the "send anonymous crash reports" setting was hidden here. It's very unusual for the "about" section of an app to have any actual settings, this feels intentional so the setting is missed and left on by default. Whilst the data policy for the app is otherwise good, in comparison to other 2FA apps, this is disappointing and if unintentional would recommend the developer move the setting somewhere more transparent. Will update my review if this happens!
Handbuch nur auf Englisch
Leider kann ich die Funktion der App gar nicht beurteilen, da ich mir die nötigen Anwendungskenntnisse nicht aneignen kann. Das Handbuch, der gesamte Infobereich ist nur auf Englisch, eine deutsche Version ist nicht erkennbar vorhanden. Da ich keine Erfahrungen mit Authentifizierungs-Apps habe, möchte ich nicht ohne Basiswissen starten!
Watch app has stopped working.
Been using this for a couple of years seamlessly right up until yesterday. However, today, the watch app doesn’t open. It launches and then crashes. I’ve uninstalled it, updated the iPhone app, reset all the devices but it still won’t work. iPhone is working fine though. Can’t be bothered to join discord to feed this back.
Everywhere You Want It
As an everyday user who has to rely on these second layer authentication apps, I liked this one the most because of its simplicity and organization. It not only has a way to categorize and color code your entries, but also has an easy way to back up, restore, and share whenever needed.

One of the best 2FA apps out there, but…
This app is gotta be one of the best 2FA apps out there for iOS as it offers tones of customisation, as well as great organisation of tokens, the ability to see the next token early, as well as being able to see the secret (key) in order to copy it to another device/app is really nice. However, apart from those great features, the only missing feature is that it doesn’t support the Apple Watch which I think is a huge let down. Overall, this app has everything I need, but compared to other 2FA apps offering Apple Watch support, I find it so much faster and easier to see my codes on my watch than my phone. If the developer(s) of this app adds Apple Watch support, this will well and truly be the best 2FA app on the App Store and I would also update my rating to 5 stars to reflect that. - Nuzza
Not very secure
I tried to put a pin on my app so even if someone who knew my phone passcode wouldn’t be able to open this app. The PIN was created all fine. It works good as well so if someone tries to open the app it ask for the PIN but when i uninstalled the app and installed again the app just opened up without a PIN on it and showed all my security tokens without any password. This issue needs to be fixed to increase the security level please
I want to love it
But the app won’t allow me to because it gives no option to import my authentication codes from Microsoft Authenticator. Please allow me to love your app and help free me from Microsoft’s ecosystem.

Don’t use
Many users, including myself, lost all 2fa after updating app. Dev team didn’t help us. Locked out of many accounts. Don’t trust them
Unexpected issue
Very good and satisfied with it until this moment where it does not work The token is denied for some activities whereas it works for other ones I need this fixed urgently as it is holding important information

Mais il y a un problème. On ne sait pas quel code sert sur quel service, et une fois sur 2, on ne peut pas éditer les infos pour voir ou modifier le site où utiliser le code. Idéal pour les icônes, non modifiables dans beaucoup de cas ,impossible de s’y retrouver . On ne peut pas sauvegarder ailleurs que sur iCloud aussi..

Accounts accounts on the welcome page of the app, the rest of the app looks nice but i ended up not using it purely because of that first impression.

“Upgrade in Progress”
Terrible won’t “upgrade” unistalled and reinstalled to have the app work but still in the infinite loop of “upgrade in progress” lost all my authentic I had connected cannot gain access to anything again. Thanks
Backup code
So far so good with this app but I didn’t realise I had to store a secret backup code and don’t have it. Concerned if I lose my phone. How do I find out my backup code?
LastPass import not working
Error while importing the JSON file exported from LastPass Authenticator. Error message: “Can’t open the file. Maybe the file is corrupted.”
Too much bloat
Account linkages, several steps, entering your information, basically another password manager. I already have a password manager, I just needed an authenticator. Who knows, maybe having even more information stored on the cloud is fine, but I don’t need another access point. Even Google has a more simple authenticator.
