Using Pic Scanner and would like to upgrade to gold. The upgrade option in the application is not working. Updates: Developer informed that they updates the application and all should be working properly.

It is no better then using your iPhone to take photos. I was hoping this paid software would help get the glare off the photos. I would have given it a much higher review if it did.
Quality not great
App is handy if you want some low res digital versions of photos, but the quality just isn’t there for if you want a decent backup, Better off just using the default camera app and cropping manually, upgraded to gold version which provided better quality but the cropping feature didn’t work well at all.

Auto crop doesn't work on old photo albums
Tried many times to scan pages from an old photo album - the background of the pages that the pictures were mounted to was white. With four 3.5" x 5" pictures on each page, the app would usually only "find" one large picture - sometimes two. It worked fine on a super old photo album I had with black paper background and corner picture mounts, but nothing doing on a white background, which is what many of my old photo albums are.

Very frustrating app!
Easy to take the photo, but when I try to export them it wants to only export the cropped photos and not the originals? I didn’t even crop the photos but it seems to create a cropped photo of each face in a photo. The editing tools are nice and I was quickly able to enhance color. I bought the more expensive option thinking it would solve my exporting problem, it did somewhat, but I lost the editing options? Feeling like I wasted my money!

Scanning easy enough as is putting the pictures into albums and writing captions. But no way to share albums or send them to my computer.

A few niggles - not sure it’s worth paying for
Scan quality very slightly better that photoscan by google (free), though auto cropping not as good. Tried to upgrade to Gold to see if it’s better, but they want the full price for that App after just having paid for the basic app. So it will cost you more if you start with the basic app first. Beware.

I bought the cheap version of this app to try it out, in my opinion this version is nothing more than a camera with nothing more than on the ipad camera, not gonna bother with an upgrade as this version seems to be a baited hook so you have to buy the full version.

Definitely. Is what I expected or hoped for
It didn’t even remove basic glare. I will explain. I downloaded this app to avoid using my scanner to digitize a few hundred pictures I have. I have used in the past the Google app (Snapseed I believe is the name) and it worked ok, I just didn’t like the limitations in resolution. That was a few years ago, now that started using it again and it adds advertisement at the bottom of the scanned image in the form of the app name. No way to remove it as fast as I can tell even if you pay for an app. On the plus side the scanning is fantastic. Removes glare and imperfections and produces an extremely high quality image given the fact that is uses a (old) printed image as the source material. Then I purchased pic scanner thinking it would be better, as the title states it was not. I scanned my first image and it did not remove the glare from the picture. I understand why, it did not make me move the phone around to scan the image to stitch the pieces together to eliminate the glare. That alone made me upset. I looked in setting to see if there is a way to remove said glare but no, tells you that before you scan to make sure there is no glare on the image. That makes it impractical to use as I hoped for something which would make it easy to scan despite less than ideal conditions. I am going back to the flat bead scanner again to scan my pictures, slow yes, but no glare and actually something I can edit later. If you don’t mind the glare or limitations of the app, then go ahead and get it. For $4 it might be worth it for some but not in my case. Maybe I did not read/find it in the review but if I had known it does not remove the glare that is a deal breaker for me. Hopefully they can improve so it can eliminate glare or just make the instructions on how to scan more prominent on the description of the app, including the fact that in order to not see glare on the scan you must make sure is not there in the first place when you scan. The rest of the features seem ok but rather pointless to me as I can’t use anything unless I have a glare free image. That is the reason for a single start, it can’t do what is in my option one of the most basic fiction of an image scanner, to produce and image without glare.

Would not download
Scanning is great but sharing pictures with dropbox is buggy. Had to delete the app, took 5 gig and couldn't move the pictures.
Creating an album for 90 year birthday
So far the hardest part is keeping my hand still to capture the pictures. Does a good job so far.
Finally upgraded
I have had this Pic Scanner for a few years and been satisfied, but finally upgraded to the Gold version for better editing and export tools. Love that even more. Very good value.
Rubbish and didn’t work
So £4 down the drain, bought to speed up capturing friends old photos for big birthday - after an hour I gave up and went back to my flat bed scanner and a long night.. didn’t detect picture edges, resolution poor on an iPhone 11 and for me an utter waste of money and crucially time
Loving it!
I have used several different photo apps and this is the best hands down for scanning and editing prints. The only thing I would love to see added is finer detail and editing like red eye and straightening tools.

Ich habe mittlerweile alle Scanner Apps durchprobiert, um alte Fotos einigermaßen ordentlich zu in Anführungszeichen scannen. Eigentlich macht man ja einfach nur Fotos von den Bildern mit fragwürdiger Auflösung, von scannenkann daher natürlich keine Rede sein. Diese App sticht immerhin mit einer netten Gestaltung heraus, ändert aber nichts an der Tatsache, dass man natürlich eigentlich einen vernünftigen kleinen Scanner verwenden sollte wie den Doxy Flip, um brauchbare Resultate zu erhalten. Für mich ein netter Spaß, mehr aber auch nicht. Man kann genauso gut eine Kamera App nutzen.

Absolutely wonderful app. My favorite feature is the ease in adding captions. Without captions, how are your kids going to make sense of what you, be saved for them.
Did not work for me
Poor job detecting borders and does not make correct cropping for images

Works fine sometimes, but some previews didn't show actual finished photo accurately. Some were blurry and unusable. Others were tilted. Not a great preview so won't consider a purchase based on poor trial product.

Waste of money
This app advertised itself as being able to fix old faded photos . There is so little editing technology in this app, it’s ridiculous. I want my money back.

Leider nicht perfekt
Beim scannen von 4 Fotos kann es vorkommen, dass ein oder zwei Bilder fehlen. Wenn man sich registrieren könnte, gäbe es die Möglichkeit die App auf dem iphone und auf dem ipad zu nutzen. So muss man sich die ganze Arbeit doppelt machen.Das ist ärgerlich.

I have been using this app all day with my iPhone. The crop feature is puzzling and a bit of a nuisance, also you can only add notes in the cropped window. I prefer to look at the originals but that has few options. The copies are clear and I am adding them to ancestry.

Don’t waste your money
I read great reviews on this, so thought I’d try it. What a waste of $4. Its hard to line the photos up, so they end up at different angles, and there was glare on the pictures. I don’t know how it gets great reviews. Updated: so tried following their advice of requesting a refund. All they did was to follow the tips at the beginning of the app, which I’d already done. Still doesn’t change the lousy quality of the pictures. A lousy app and lousy customer service.

Good at first
Does a good job at first and the concept is great but it skews a lot of pictures, turns whit space in pictures into separate images and now after about 200 pictures is crashing constantly to the point of not working. The only big benefit now if it didn't crash is that it's faster than the normal cam.
