Inspired and encouraged
Noom has been a source of inspiration and encouragement when I had given up keeping my weight in check. I love the fact that there is not such a thing as a bad and evil food group and the sense that I will achieve my goal sooner or later. I don’t feel rushed or defeated after a pizza night with the family. It’s so easy to regain momentum the following day. Noom is a game changer!
Chat bot hell
If you have an issue you’ll be sent to the worst possible chatbot with no other options.
Good app, except for the non-skippable splash screens
I enjoy using the app and have learned a lot and gotten some great recipes. But the new splash screens are super annoying. You can’t skip and an often have to sit through multiple screens. Please make them skippable!!!
New update is horrible
I used Noom on and off for years and it was perfect for me! I recently redownloaded and now it’s a sesspool of ads, GLP 1 pushing, cash grabbiness and weird screen addiction streaks and points. Going to have to find something else because all the pop ups and information overload that doesn’t apply to me ruins the experience.
Please eliminate gamification
Noom is a necessary evil in my day. I only have a few seconds around meals to log my calories. The gamification screens, streaks, seeds are embarrassing, intrusive, and waste my time. And just to balance, the photo meal scanning works surprisingly well. I’m glad it does not save to camera roll.

App stopped working and no options to request refund
Update to the update - finally got a hold of someone who instructed me to update the app (I guess it didn’t happen automatically) and that fixes the activity tracker issue for a few weeks. Now it is down again 😭 Update - App stopped grabbing active minutes from my Apple Watch two weeks ago, which made the meal tracking portion of the app useless. I spent over an hour talking with their chat bot on three separate occasions trying to troubleshoot the source of the issues and they were never able to get to the root of it or fix it. I asked for a refund and the link they sent led to a defunct page. So now although I have paid for the app for several more months, there is no option for a refund and no solution in site. See below for earlier recommendations on how to make the app better but most of all - give people a refund if your software stops working. 1. Separate recipes from meals - they are different 2. Add a scan function when creating a recipe. It is so annoying and tedious to have to type out every item in a recipe and weird that I can’t just scan some ingredients. 3. Make it possible to upload recipes either from a cook book or website - with scan to text possible it seems slow and clunky that I have to hand type a recipe (and some of them are long!). This easily adds 10-15 minutes to my meal logging time. 4. Please add an option to show protein amounts and other macro data for my recipes and meals. If it isn’t my first meal of the day I write down what my protein is and then do math 5. Would love a fiber tracking component - I’ve had to focus so much on adding protein to my diet (lots of dairy since I’m veg) and am worried I’m sacrificing fiber - especially since I read recently that most Americans don’t get enough fiber. 6. Can you have the app remember my favorite foods and/or improve the search function. I eat a lot of 4% Organic Valley Cottage Cheese but if I don’t type it in exactly right the app cannot find it. I know I can scan it but sometimes I’m not in front of the fridge when I’m logging my food.
It’s working
Am I enjoying it? I’m not sure. But I am losing weight and somehow still interested to continue with it. There are some good techniques read by someone who is just reading things off of a card unexcitedly! Also the app forgets to connect to my steps on my phone, refuses to connect to “my air” for my CPAP machine to tell me how my sleep effects things, and sometimes forgets the food I’ve saved. However the most important thing is that I’m losing weight and am not hungry!

Expensive for a tracker
I am using Noom Med to get access to GLP-1, which has been fine. But the app itself is expensive for AI generated content. Also, your “clinician” is a group of nurse practitioners around the world who don’t read your chat conversation and you end up having to answer the same questions over and over just to get a refill or new prescription. It’s incredibly frustrating to go back and forth with several “clinicians” who clearly just read the last message I sent and not the conversation. Also I’m pretty sure my “coach” is AI even though it claims to be human when I ask. If you’re able to get GLP-1s somewhere else that doesn’t cost as much, go that route first.
Love Noom!
I love the results I’m seeing being on the Noom app. I lost 26 pounds and feeling great. The App offers so much support and inspiration. ❤️
Where is the damn start button
I want to start the damn lessons but the app doesn’t show how to start the damn course
Great app, could be better
Please add a clear visual marker, like a color or shape, to show when a day is completed so missed days are easy to spot and streaks are easier to maintain.
Second time using
I wanted to track my intake because I was gaining weight but it’s too cumbersome now. I’ve been searching for five minutes looking weird to add additional intake to my calories without finding it. what I am finding is a bunch of ads now.
Logging food
I’d love the option to set a default measurement unit for food logging. I weigh most foods in grams, and changing the unit every time takes extra time. A saved default unit would make logging much faster and easier.”
Excellent Choice
I used Noom about 4-5 years ago. List 30-35 lbs and was thrilled. Have recommended it to friends and family members. My niece lost 20 lbs and her mother (so far) has lost 56 lbs). I recently went thru a rough patch and gained 14-15 lbs (depending on the day) so I rejoined. I already know I will be a lifetime member once I’m at goal which is fast approaching. I cannot give enough positive feedback about this program. Do yourself a favor and- try it. You’ll like it and be VERY happy either way the results.
Noom is not worth it
Why do I have to fix their buggy app all the time? They only say… well it must be the new updates… well folks don’t waste your money on a company that isn’t into weight loss they are only into selling you glp1.
Was great, now a GLP-1 Sales App
This app used to be far more inclusive about people’s goals and was a low pressure environment to be healthier and attempt to lose weight. They used to have a green orange red food system so you could see the overall health split of your meals and now that portion of the app is significantly downplayed. Used to be about health, now it feels gross.
Frustrating
I have downloaded this app with the hope that it will help me with my efforts to lose weigh. The app was used by my wife some years ago and she was satisfied. Overall I understand that there are lessons, tips etc shared with the app user, which can be useful for changing mindset. However, the barcode system for tracking foods to calculate calories to log meals includes almost none of the foods and had to be added manually. This is quite time-consuming for busy people like I am and don’t have space during the day to add foods and grams manually. I’ve used other apps in the past which were more helpful in this area. My wife has also noticed significant decline in this area since the previous time she used it.
Noom doctors and coaches ignore you
I’m paying a BOATLOAD for Noom med and my doctor and coach ignore my questions. The rest of the app is super wonky too. Also, try to add “chicken vegetable soup” to your diary. It adds A WHOLE CHICKEN and 4 servings of veggies. Dumb
So Helpful
I really like the changes that have been made to the app. It's so much more engaging and I really look forward do opening it now. My only request it to have a "favorites" function where I can mark foods I eat regularly so I don't have to type them in all the time.
There is no cancellation button for the subscription

Good, but obnoxious notifications
I’ve used this app off and on for quite a few years now, both paid and unpaid versions. Overall it’s a great app and easy to prioritize to your health goals. My one big issue is the absolutely obnoxious number of notifications. It’s currently 8pm and since 7:30 this morning I’ve received 12 notifications. There’s no option to reduce that number in-app, so you either have to turn all notifs off, or deal with an hourly reminder to do something or other. Please, let me have just one notification a day to remind me to log my meals. Some folks might like the heavy-handed reminders but I want an option for fewer without turning them off entirely.
Bugs in new version

Warning For Late Night Workers
I often work late (home just before 12am), and it is highly frustrating that there is not at LEAST a 1hr or so grace period to finish logging things for the day. This app is not accommodating or considerate that some of its users may be late night workers/night shift. I am unable to use my phone while working, so this is particularly frustrating and distressing for me. In some of the lessons they discuss the importance of mental wellness, and the lack of flexibility is not helping mine. I think that the app should include a setting for those of us who have a late night work schedule. I’m very disappointed with this fact, and whenever I am unable to log my accomplishments I feel like a failure (not good for the mental wellness upon which multiple lessons put great emphasis). HIGHLY considering discontinuing using this app/program due to the lack of consideration and lack of even minor accommodations that late night workers need.
The Help I Needed
I have been trying to get back to a healthy weight for years and made progress but got stuck and my weight wouldn’t budge. Since I started Noom, I’ve lost 5 lbs the first week and I couldn’t be happier! 🙌
Poor Communication and Service Follow through!
Ofer 2 week delay in delivery of my refill. No communication until I brought it to their attention. All I got was an AI apology. Find somewhere else with better and real support. I was told to reach out to their support which told me to reach back out to app AI support. No one is taking ownership. Find other options for your weight loss journey.
Expensive but effective
I think this is a really good system but could use a couple of improvements especially considering it’s not inexpensive. Given that the app encourages healthier habits like preparing recipes and whole food at home rather than relying as much on takeout or heavily processed feeds it would be nice to have a more user friendly interface when creating our own recipes to track. One suggestion for that is to make options like 1/3, 1/8ths available as options or the option to type in the amount. second option is to create an interface in a browser which would allow people to create their recipes with a keyboard on a webpage which might also be faster.
cant log food?
i tried logging my food on here and thought i needed premium to do so. but the chat bot said food logging is not available on my version or configuration of the app, which is stupid because what is a nutritional app that i was gonna use to keep track of my weight loss if i cant track my food? waste of my time tbh
Was Once a Great App…
But then it was turned into a game and got much more complicated. I gave it three stars, because sure, it still does all of the things it did before, like providing a course to help you lose and track weight, track food and nutrition, and read helpful and supportive articles. But they’ve just added too much, thinking all the extras will motivate, or something. What was once a simple to use app that took very little of your time has been bogged down with daily art and banking seeds? What? Perhaps a better organized or more customizable interface would help, but long and silly animations and too much on the home page make the app less friendly to use. Here’s hoping they figure it out, so I can get back to the daily simplicity they preach in their articles about how to live the best version of yourself.
The right tools
I’ve been dieting since 4th grade and have usually found success but the diets are never sustainable. Noom offers the tools that work for me to set up a framework to lose weight and to keep it off in a sustainable fashion. I’ve learned so much more about how to eat. I still struggle with labeling foods good or bad but it’s a process and I know I will continue to improve
Horrible customer service
I have spend a week and a half trying to resolve and issue with multiple back-and-forth per day and enters that don’t relate to my question. I feel like they may be farmed out to AI too much.
Good but not perfect
Overall I enjoy using the app. I do find creating recipes a bit challenging because it often deletes all the ingredients I already added, when I only want to delete one.

Recipes are great
The fees are extremely high and they do not give refunds if you forget to cancel the auto renewal one day after it charges.
Best plan ever!
Forget using calorie counters, if you want to lose weight, choose NOOM. For basically the same price, you get all of the additional benefits of NOOM. Love how NOOM also doesn’t just let their plan go stagnant, never updating any features. They have quality upgrades and surprise you with new techniques along your weight loss journey.
Renews with ZERO warning
No warning email that subscription was about to renew? Disgusted to not even have the option to choose. I got out of the habit of using it and would think it ethical to send a warning email. Gross.
Love it! But wish there were more diverse and flexible subscription plans
I like this app a lot, but it costs a lot to use it every month, even with their discounts. I don’t need meal planning or the ability to talk to a fitness coach, and I wish there were plans with less features that still offered the main analysis and mindfulness aspects, at a lower price. I don’t know if maybe I’m missing something though.
Not recognized
None of my foods can be scanned. They are not recognized and they are common foods!
Whole foods are…bad?
This app discourages people from eating certain whole foods, which is ridiculous. For example, garbanzo beans and walnuts. I understand from a calorie and/or carbohydrate perspective but if your diet is filled with healthy whole foods, they should not be in the “orange” category. Foods like Twinkies and Oreos and Doritos and soda and other processed food should be in that category.
Noom feels like a friend
Noom’s first daily lessons gave me a jump start asking why I really want to lose weight then small steps to build on for lifelong success. It’s like they read my mind on what I need to succeed.
Horrible subscription practice
Noom has a 7 month renewal subscription and an auto renew. They won’t refund your money even if you cancel on the renewal date that they never warn you about. App is fine other than that, just stop screwing people out of their money. Note subscription is steep otherwise I would never post a note warning others.
Helpful information
I like the lessons, logging foods, and tracking water. It would be awesome if it tracked my gym workouts (ie. sets and reps) even better if it prescribed a weight lifting program.
Logging meals
Why is it so hard to find before it was on the home page the only way I can log meals now is if the app sends a notification. I like to log meals as I go so everything is fresh in my mind ..PLEASE FIX .. updates are to make apps better not worst !!!!
Nutrition Information is Missing / Wrong
Nutritional facts for so many foods is missing and when it is there it’s incorrect. It defeats the purpose of calorie tracking if the data is wrong. The app is too expensive to be having these issues. There are better, cheaper alternatives
Weight Loss App for Phone Addicts
Finally an app with AI that makes it so quick and easy to track calories going in and figures out the proper blend of food groups. The app is full of recipes and activities and rewards to keep me engaged. Just finished my first week and shed 5 lbs without feeling hangry (some of that is water weight).
Waste of time
Noom is nothing more than a click app to make you feel like you are doing something. It acts like Facebook, with community- who need another app to compare yourself with others? The app gives no personal help everything is just system generated for a set plan nothing is individualized. Eat 3000 calories great job! Skip all you meals great work! Your coach is going to just going to tell you the same scripted message with the same positive feedback. Now they want you too add friends and have your friends waste their money as well. This is just a Ponzi scheme to get ppl to not use and collect money. They just added a "seed" program where you "donate" to charities but no actual charities listed & you can only choose from a limited genre. If I did not have to use this to get my diabetic medicine for my health plan I would not use it. Have I lost any weight- no because I was already doing all their "tips" and there is nothing more to change. Can I personalize how to use this- no you can't decrease calories, or make anything personalized. Even the lessons have a generalized plan you must go through, most of which do not apply specifically to me. If you want to keep up appearances use this app, if you want to change your life & loose weight- paper, pen, a calorie counting app and AI is much cheaper. By the way telling people "there is no bad food" but then ranking food by color is saying there is bad food.
Overall great, but hard to plan ahead
Overall, this is a great app. It’s really informative and incentivizes nutrition. The only missing piece is the ability to plan ahead by logging meals ahead of time. In order to meal plan for the week, I end up using My Fitness Pal.
Hidden fees
The app is ok but SO MANY HIDDEN FEES. was looking forward to doing Noom for $20 a month. Was actually billed over $100 at end of trial. Canceling in app is difficult and everything about the billing is intentionally difficult to navigate. I like the idea of this app but was disappointed by my experience. Hit me right in the wallet.
Too expensive
Used this application a couple years back. Found it very useful. Wanted to get back to it but the price doubled. At more than $50/month, it is way too expensive now.
