Makes my job possible
I spend a lot of time in the field covering events or interviewing people. I am a photographer, writer, and social media manager, so it’s a huge benefit to be able to record audio and have it transcribed instantly.
Impossible to cancel!!
After dutifully following the posted instructions to cancel my monthly subscription (twice), this company continues to bill my credit card over and over. I’ve contacted customer service and in parallel have forwarded my complaint to the NH attorney general. At this point the company is stealing my money and will not get away with it.
Desktop vs app!
Do everything in your browser. App lacks the same AI functionality and performs poorly in comparison.
Good…when it works
This app gives me great mtg notes when it works properly. More than once it has messed up and been unable to upload a mtg…and you don’t find out until after the mtg…very infuriating and hardly helpful. This has been happening occasionally for over a year and all I get from the company is “gosh, we’re sorry this happened”. No kidding, show me you give a $h17 by fixing the glitch.
Not able to share dictations
Worked great before this last update. App force closes when I try to share my dictation. Very inconvenient.

Smallest Hurdles
Waste of time and money. The transcribers can not be trained. The smallest hurdles trip them up. They can’t make out clear conversation! I would put no faith in the validity of anything produced by this scam transcription service. One Guy’s Opinion!
A favorite productivity hack!
As one who is constantly dictating materials for development, Rev has been a game changer. From brain storming sessions, to important meetings, to developing my own work flows, shaping talks, sharing research. This tool has been a helpful one for me to use. I save countless hours with Rev.
“Capture Audio Anywhere”
Bit misleading when your plan is for work calls. ( just fyi creators Google lied and said you could)
Avoid
Purchased credits but no explanation how to use them and system keeps asking for more credits. Avoid.

Trouble getting transcripts
I downloaded videos to get transcripts and they get stuck in the “pending” stage or show an error. It is frustrating. I would also like the option to add more minutes but was told I have to buy another account. I can’t seem to figure out how to do two accounts. It keeps going back to the first account.

Loses recordings when you leave app
If you open any other app while you were making a recording some of the time when you switch back to Rev it’ll restart the app and lose the recording that you just made. This has happened to me multiple times and it’s infuriating. I’m a writer and voice recording is useful for spontaneity, I don’t understand why anyone isn’t able to fix bugs like this. Even the native iPhone app has similar problems where it will just lose material. This would never happen with physical media. It’s ridiculous.
Doesn’t record calls
It’s a very good recording app but doesn’t record calls, which is the one thing I needed it for.
Rev User
I have been using Rev for over 1 year in my law firm. I don’t know where I would be without it. It has been a great asset to my firm.
Very disappointed.
I use this app about a year or so ago and it was easy to use and navigate now it completely puts me in a doom loop. By default, Rev Support forces every file to load directly into the AI Prompts screen first. The system is designed to trap you on that screen until you manually click away from it. It’s really making it impossible to do anything and I have to constantly do annoying work arounds to even get files downloaded so I can send them in an email to my lawyer without having him have to subscribe to REV. I can’t wait to remove my audio files from Rev and download them onto another subscription App. Give me three or four days and I will let you know how it works out.
Ease of use
The Rev recorder is so easy to use, almost like reciting ABC or 123. It captures words and diction so perfectly. And the best part is that it’s free.

Work but costs money
This app works well for just recording the notes, it has pretty clear audio and worked better than I had expected for a free app. But it cost 1.25 to transcribe a 7 second video as a test. It’s way to much and I don’t think I would recommend it to that many people. But if you don’t want to transcribe the audio I would definitely tell you about it.

Great concept, missing features
Love the idea of this app and the Rev.com service that sits behind it is incredible, but I would really like to see the ability to save money with machine transcription versus real person. Another huge missing feature is Apple Watch integration so I can dictate into my watch whilst on the move. If you could add those two features, this app would be a game changer!!
4.5 star. Great all, minor issues.
This app has been great so far, I have been able to record things for hours and not have an issue. Besides one thing. The app doesn’t drown background sound out at all. Would love to see that come to it.
Real person Transcript
I paid $57 to get an audio that is difficult to fully understand all the words I paid for a real human to transcribe what I was missing and the AI was the one who interpreted the audio better and more accurately then the human which tells me 1: the human is being lazy and not actually taking the 1 hour I would say I paid for and truly transcribing it and over half the audio was marked. “Untranslated” waste of your money getting a human !

Only free if you want to record a 10 second phone call, then it cuts it off.
Can’t select credit card to pay with
Great that it is seamless, possibly too seamless in the process from recording to a charged transcript. I would like to see more checkpoints in between processes, eg verifying customer details, verifying payment details. Was not able to back up on Dropbox via the app. I find that I have very Little control over the process and my data. I will be reverting back to using my own recording function instead until the above is fixed. The idea and speed of the process is good though.
Unlimited Live transcript without subscription
The only note taking or meeting record app I found with live transcript for the free version or without subscription. It doesn’t have differentiation between speakers but good enough so far for me. The other app I found that does this is otter but with only 300mnts limit a month for free version. Developers please keep this!
Most deceiving app
I cannot believe I spent so much money, and they make it impossible to cancel your membership. Even though I canceled my membership, they still charge me $59 unlawfully, and it is so scattered that is impossible to Now the good thing is, I did a screenshot immediately as soon as I Cancel my membership.

Easy to use
Doesn’t do machine translations
The Web version does “rough” machine translations at 1/10th the cost. Yet the app only allows the full service. I like that you can easily pause the recording. Disappointed. Hate giving low reviews.
A very loud sound recording!
I’ve only just downloaded this recording app.....and compared it with the built in Apple voice recorder from my iPad Pro 2018. But had to delete. This voice recording sounds very loud! and i must admit, it’s 10 times better than the sound app that’s already built in. you can get right into the sound recording that you have made and hear everything that’s going on all around you. I also like the sound bar monitor. But like all the sound recordings on these apps, there is a lot of hissing noise. And also when you play back the recording, it’s not the same as my iPad Pro 2018 built in one. The sound monitor does not move on the Rev. The sound recording on my video built in with my iPad Pro is even quieter. but there’s no hissing noise. 21/4/2019 Sunday pm

Can you tell me how to recover info from old phone?
Does nothing to protect your data
I had the Rev Call Recorder app which they suddenly shut down this fall without any warning. Now I can’t access my old recordings that I need for a work project. The customer service says only Apple can help, and of course Apple support says only the app developer can help. Don’t trust this company- they’ll just lose your audio files.

Doesn’t sync with browser
The app seems nice, but is a separate instance that doesn’t sync with the desktop/browser version. I have transcriptions I completed via the web using my Pro subscription, but can’t access them from the mobile app. I need these to sync because life is busy and sometimes I need to continue my work on the go
Doesn’t work
You still have to go off of Rev’s website on an iPad so not sure why this app was invented. It doesn’t do anything.
Great App
The Rev App and transcription service is phenomenal. The only area of improvement would be the ability to import audio from the built in voice recorder app and send for transcription.
Great device, app is buggy
I've been using this service for years. And the turnaround time is great. However the app has reduced in quality recently in terms of the recordings's ability to be transcribed. I'm also getting lots of dropouts in the middle of recordings to the point that I'm now looking for an alternative service. Disappointing, because otherwise it's a great service.
