Lost my info

Used this for years, went to login on a new phone and they somehow lost my login (it was hooked up to Facebook and they stopped that option? But they can’t figure out how to recover my account) and customer service stopped responding to me. Super disappointing as it had many months of tracking ovulation, my whole pregnancy symptoms, etc. even more disappointing that they just stopped trying to help.

Hate the calendar

I am not trying to conceive or track my ovulation or any of that. I have selected via settings that I am in perimenopause/menopause and yet the stupid calendar is showing me when my ovulation time is. I’m not trying to have a baby so I really do not care. I wish the calendar let you make your own choices about what you want to track. Same thing with tracking discharge. During perimenopause it’s normal to have discharge mid-cycle as estrogen begins to lessen. I can’t track that on the calendar though - if you select discharge on the symptoms it assumes you’ve had a baby and are tracking discharge for that purpose alone. So frustrating. There are many reasons why we experience discharge and it’s important to track it - could be infection, changing cycle. Hate this stupid calendar so much.

Period info I saved in the app was lost after I told it I was pregnant

I used this at first to track my cycle and ovulation days, which I found this app to be very beneficial. Once you become pregnant the app will convert to the pregnancy version, the first question it asked is when was your last cycle, it uses this to determine your due date. But you no longer have access to your cycle info because the app already switched to the pregnancy version. Unfortunately for me, I had to guess the date because this app was the only place I was recording that info at the time. I think they should fix this issue because this is really important in determining your due date. I didn’t want to leave this as a review but I don’t see anywhere on the app to give feedback.

I’ve been using this app since like 2018 and have continually loved it. I love how they keep it simple and easy to use and haven’t made any major/ unnecessary changes to the app in all the years i’ve used it. It’s reliable and consistent, and i love how it predicts the different stages in my cycle very accurately. It’s quite literally been my form of birth control all these years!

Not a fan of latest update

I downloaded so many pregnancy apps when I got pregnant, but Ovia is the one I’ve come to use most consistently. Unlike other major apps, which are an ad-filled, social media-esque, overstimulating mess, Ovia actually feels clean and clinical, and like it’s centered on YOUR health - not trying to sell you something. This is HUGE and I hope the devs never change this. The daily updates and calendar are so useful (actually shocking most pregnancy apps don’t have a calendar!), and the tracking functionality is by far the most robust. My biggest requests would be to add a dark mode and improve the community feature, which is currently just bizarre (polls only, no subforums/groups, random posts sent to your inbox and no way to hide old ones?). With a proper discussion forum supporting groups, this app would be an instant 5 stars. EDIT: Lowering my rating because I hate the latest update so much. Ovia now pins their own daily posts to the top of your feed instead of displaying everything by time posted. This sucks because you have to scroll past the same content you’ve already seen AGAIN and AGAIN throughout the day just to get to your own entries (which IMO are most important). They also increased the padding of the visual elements in the symptom tracker so you have to scroll even more to find the right symptoms - both changes that actively worsen the UX. All these things (plus dark mode) should be display preferences! The lack of display settings we can customize is jarring!

Not for mothers

As a mother of 3 I would like an app that supports pregnant moms not minimizes them to “birthing persons.” My baby is just that-a BABY. Not a just a zygote. Pregnant with a baby in my womb is so special that I’d like to have the right support system in every aspect of pregnancy.

Almost great

I really like the simplicity of this app including the kick counter, calendar, weight, etc. trackers. The simplicity is a key feature that has brought me back for pregnancy tracking 3x. However, it might be a little too simple because one of the things it doesn’t do is adapt developing conditions or insights from your med team. For instance, if I go to an appointment and the sonography reveals something like EFW - I should be able to add it. Instead, I get generalized ongoing EFW insights from the app that are way off - and can’t be personalized. Also, the special conditions list is insufficient IMO.

The community feature is obnoxious and horrific

I had to delete this app solely because of the community section. The sheer volume of questions that completely lack common sense or basic research is exhausting. With so many resources at our fingertips, it’s frustrating to see the forum flooded with things that a simple Internet search could solve. If you are looking for an intelligent, evidence-based community, look elsewhere.

Great app for tracking

Can’t recommend this app enough! I used it for about half a year for cycle tracking, then for a few months for my pregnancy, and then back to cycle tracking. Both sides of the app were great and it switched over from cycle tracking to pregnancy and back very easily. You can track so many symptoms and filter the content you want to see. On the pregnancy tracking part of the app it was great to see what size my baby was and keep track of those symptoms, get appointment reminders, and track milestones. Also, after my loss I got a very nice email from Ovia and for what it’s worth I thought that was very nice.

It gives me tips and peace of mind that I am on the right path of planning to be a future parent. It helps me to understand my body and over all health a bit better. Bring themes back!

I liked the app until they took color themes away. Now I’m not happy. Why take them away? We needed more color options, not no color options. I also can’t stand the constant “pop ups” on the home page. I get they are kind of like reminders to track sleep, etc but it is annoying to have to hit the X five times to close all of them. Also, add more emotions. Half the time I don’t use that section because the emotion I am feeling isn’t listed.

Baby’s Name won’t let you select gender

I only use it for the baby names feature and for some reason this time around it only shows female names and it doesn’t allow adjustment in the filter section. They also restrict how you can set up your due date vs first day of period . If I change due date it tells ME When the first day of period was is no longer the day I put which is ridiculous cause that information is permanent. They don’t let you input how LONG your cycle is so the information is inaccurate. You should be able to tailor the information without it auto correcting even if I press “don’t change due date” it changes all the other information such as how far along you are and first day of period information. Unfortunately I won’t be using it for this pregnancy

NOT Suitable for irregular cycles

I do love the features of this app but it does not give me the option to accurately input my cycle days that are not on the average 28 day scale. I have to manually input my dates and do the separate math to make sure I have the right date tracking my pregnancy. If I put the right due date, it’s moved my LMP and date of conception to incorrect days. It is good for tracking but keep in mind if you don’t have 28 day cycle, this app will not calculate dates accurately for you if you need that. You will have to do the math yourself for the exact dates or use a different app/online calculator.

Just one error I’d like them to fix!

I love this app, I’ve used it all the way back from 2019 with my first baby to now 2026 with my 4th baby. I love all the milestones, community chats, food safety list and all the other handy tools/articles. The only issue I have with this app is the sizing of the baby in the womb. Every week it gives you a new week update on how the baby is and the sizings are very inconsistent. I noticed a huge jump from week 14 going to week 15 and then somehow the size of the baby gets smaller when we reach week 18. I don’t know if they’re measuring from head to toes or head to butt but they need to specify better because it makes no sense. They should really fix this because it’s very misleading. This is what the app says on their “pregnancy by week” Week 14 3-3.5 inches Week 15 6.4 inches Week 16 over 7 inches Week 17 almost 8 inches Week 18 (in the video) 5.5inches Week 19 6-9 inches long

Missing critical functionality

The app allows you to record lots of detail. Some of it helpful, a lot of it irrelevant. It is however missing critical key functionality for an app that is relating to your cycle. I had a pregnancy, which when I recorded the pregnancy shifted me to Ovia pregnancy, but I miscarried a few weeks later. I find it annoying that you can’t record things like pregnancy loss and miscarriage. I had to just delete my pregnancy which doesn’t feel good emotionally but also means you lose all records of what happened during that pregnancy. It would be helpful to have that info for medical record later. If it allowed you to record the pregnancy & loss in the Ovia app it could then also adjust for your new cycle. But it hasn’t updated my ovulation from my last cycle. I also had a biopsy last week, which would be helpful to have recorded, those types of things cause bleeding and would just be good to have in your cycle calendar. I feel you need to add these features in to complete the product otherwise it’s just another app doing only half the job.

Adding onto the apps

Love the app… I just wish there was an option for mom’s experiencing their babies through the Nicu. Same with the Ovia parenting app! There’s not many pre term baby apps to choose from like there is for full term babies due to most being specifically linked to certain hospitals. Being able to go to one app just to ask questions about my babies and track my cycle would be amazing! It could go from what expect from however the babies age range, to milestones, transitioning home, being home and what’s normal to experience with that are babies premature, and lots more… it’s just an idea I know I’m just one person but I can bet you there’s plenty of people just like me that thinks the same.
