I’m not a gardener!
This was my first Airtasker post for gardening help. Paola and Henry did a fabulous job, very efficient tidying up overgrown shrubs, weeding and planting. No mess after, on time and great communication. Very happy and would recommend.👏
Commission
Airtask is taking lot of commission.
Customer service
Airtasker doesn’t care about its Taskers, alone as they stay in the platform , Airtasker with belittle and abuse their Taskers so much as to retain them on their platform
Fire your software developers
Good app and user traffic but the typing of things is an absolute joke. Cannot even see the space where you type so you make typo mistakes but can’t see it, sometimes can’t even see the button to submit a message reply. Totally glitchy garbage app for a good platform.
Connection fee
Connection fee was high
George
Very good job very kind person and friendly excellent job
Get anything done (badly and expensively)
Enticed by the adverts of getting things done, I tried Airtasker and have been disappointed every time. Things may get done - but they’ll be done badly and at a price you wouldn’t have paid. The app doesn’t connect you with quality workers, it connects you with random people who need money and have no regard for their ability to actually do the work. There is little recourse if the work is done poorly, and costs associated with backing out if the tasker demonstrates they can’t do the task after saying they could. Airtasker makes no effort to filter taskers for quality or ability other than an internal rating mechanism that seems so thoroughly gamed as to be useless. Fees are extremely high at around an additional 20% of what is paid to the tasker.
Very secure
You can put your money on AirTasker for sure if you don’t trust people out there .
Eh
Takes too long to get paid. They also take like 23% of your pay. You gotta add tax on top of that.. they make it impossible to do jobs without paying them. Money hungry company.
Not bad but need improvement
The app itself is useful and has helped me find clients, so this isn’t a one-star review. However, Airtasker seriously needs to improve the way it protects Taskers, not just customers. I recently completed an automotive job for a customer who then refused to pay. I provided Airtasker with extensive evidence about the work and the dispute. During the situation, I retained the vehicle pending payment, relying on the legal principle of a repairer’s lien. Despite explaining this and providing supporting information, my Airtasker account was restricted. Eventually, the restriction was lifted because the customer stopped responding to Airtasker. But I still haven’t been paid. So, in practice, the customer received the work, didn’t pay, stopped communicating, and continued with their life — while I was the one who temporarily lost access to the platform and therefore the ability to find new work. That is where Airtasker needs to improve. I completely understand having strong guidelines to protect customers, but Taskers also invest their time, labour, materials and sometimes significant amounts of money into completing jobs. There needs to be a much stronger system for protecting workers against customers who simply claim they are unhappy and refuse payment. Airtasker is a genuinely useful platform, and I will continue using it, but the protection needs to work both ways. Taskers are the people actually providing the services that make the platform function. We deserve proper protection too.
Airtasker
Great App and services
Tiers
I think it's abit rich you can loose being a platinum status , when there is no work or Due to time , and then when you get bad customers or work you get left with that and rating
Airtasker - first time client
This was my first time using Airtasker, and whilst the small, but specialised, job I had was tasked quickly and completed by good trades people, I would have liked to have seen more honesty about Airtaskers fees upfront. I don’t have enough jobs to make it worth my while signing up for the year, this was the one off. I fully appreciate it’s the equivalent to a finders fee, but they take a fee off the people doing the job as well, so Airtasker are definitely quids in!
⭐⭐
I use Airtasker for my business, and I have to acknowledge that the app is very useful for acquiring new clients. Most of the clients I’ve dealt with have been honest, and the platform has genuinely helped me grow my business, so I definitely wouldn’t say the service is bad. However, in my experience, there is a serious issue when it comes to protecting Taskers. If a client decides they simply don’t want to pay, they can claim they are unhappy with the service, sometimes without providing any real evidence. Even when the Tasker provides before-and-after photos, the full message history, and clear proof that the work was completed, they can still end up not being paid if the client refuses to release the payment. This is especially frustrating considering how high the platform fees are. For example, if I make an offer of $150 for a task, I only receive around $120. And the higher the task price, the higher the fee becomes. On a $500 task, around $100 can be taken in platform fees. When a platform takes such significant commissions from workers, I believe it should also provide meaningful protection in return. There should be a much fairer dispute-resolution system where evidence from both sides is genuinely considered. Protecting customers is obviously important, but protecting Taskers who have actually completed hours of work should be just as important. A good app for finding clients, but considering the fees being charged, Tasker protection seriously needs to be improved.
Good platform, but improvements needed
I’m happy with the amount of work Airtasker provides and believe it can be a valuable platform for small businesses to find new clients and grow. However, I’m not completely satisfied with some of the rules and dispute processes. At times, it feels like greater protection is given to new clients rather than long-term Taskers who have built a strong history on the platform. I believe more consideration should be given to a Tasker’s experience, completion history and reputation when disputes arise. Overall, I appreciate the opportunities Airtasker has provided and hope to see the platform continue improving for both clients and long-term Taskers.
Tasker outdoors
Everything gardens and transportation of waste/ hard rubbish
HIDDEN FEES SUCKER PUNCH
15% Fees hidden. Only once I’d accepted the offer to complete my task was I made aware, by the added line item “connection fee” that there were extra costs to pay. 15% on top of the agreed price! That’s a kick in the guts!! So never again will I use this app as this wreaks of deceptive practices.
Great application to do practical work
The app is great if you want to help people with assembly and other practical jobs. The improvement i would say is that the app should lower the fees to encourage more people to use the program
Easy to use and a great result
Really happy with my experience using Airtasker. It was quick and easy to post the job, describe exactly what I needed and receive several offers from experienced Taskers. Being able to compare prices, reviews, completion rates and previous experience made choosing someone straightforward. The Tasker I chose was excellent and the whole job was organised and completed within a couple of days of posting. The payment process was also simple and I liked that the funds were held securely until the job was completed. Would definitely use Airtasker again.
Job completion
Many times people fight to get the task, but once taken, they don’t put the same efforts anymore and it is difficult to communicate and get things done
Jobs
Great app for doing things you know how to do and get paid for it while helping other people
Worst app ever
Rubish
App keeps crashing
just recently installed and the app crashes every minute or so
Extortionate fees
App is a good idea but the service fees are insanely high. They don’t need to be so high to keep the app running. Update: The fees start at 24%, saying they go up to 20% is a lie. They stay this high until you earn a lot and constantly keep your earnings high. I am currently developing an app that will take all your customer base and the fees will be minimal.
Highly Recommend
Max operates a professional, reliable and speedy furniture removal service. He goes above and beyond what is required to ensure customer satisfaction. I consider Max great value for service and would highly recommend him to anyone needing help with relocating.
They made it impossible to contact support
It’s all fun and games until you need to report a task. Chat keeps asking you which task and the name, but the moment you go back find details, chat is gone forever. Impossible to use.
Verification issues
I keep getting emails saying I have to verify but there is no place to verify
expensive fees
The booking fees are quite high.
Good
Very good idea
Massive fees
app is good app but the fees for the workers are massive, almost no point using the app, stick to facebook
Bad UX
I accepted an offer for a task but it showed the task up for grabs. Then tapped on messages said no messages but I got messages on my email. Very weird tacky UX. Also the insane inflated prices. Cruel is the word
As a tasker
I’ve been using AirTasker for many years, I’ve seen some good changes and some strange removals. At the moment as a tasker my feed is full of remote tasks for things such as mowing the lawn or fitting shelves. Not something you can do remotely but my point is they have removed the option to carry out in person tasks only. That and still waiting for the option to hide tasks I am not interested in my feed. Otherwise it’s not a bad app in this version.
Good app
This task really helpful for people who needed.. im happy to help people around.
Run
Predatory fee structure and terrible refund process. The fees were insane and when the tasker failed to complete the job, getting my money back was unnecessary slow and difficult. Instead of just refunding me, airtasker returned the money as “credits” forcing me to go through yet another process to have the money returned to my actual back account…of course this is all minus the $19.95 fee 🙄. They’ve had the last chance off me they’ll ever get, the app is being deleted never to return.
Got scammed
Bad tack
Decent app but high commission
Varied range of jobs but needs improvement. Some suggestions: 1) Taskers with brand new accounts should be restricted on the amount of jobs they can bid on as a lot of them are timewasters 2) Posting pics of the job should be absolutely mandatory. No ifs no buts. Too many tasks are listed without pics leading to tiring back and forth with the poster to find out what the job actually entails 3) speed of responses from Support team is an absolute joke. 24-48 hours is acceptable (48 hours only just about acceptable in 2025 I’d say) but response times are always over a week which honestly ludicrous 4) much better and faster moderation of tasks needed for fake tasks, Taskers trying to circumvent the rules by giving out contact details via an image etc etc.
Great app
Easy app to use, fair prices, love how you don’t release payment unless satisfied with the persons job. Had no issues with getting refunds for funds held if a job gets cancelled. Would pay a yearly fee but feel the yearly fee is to high for ppl that don’t use the app heaps. Should be a tier system for membership based on how many times you will use it per year. And capped. Then if you go over you have to pay based on casual use.
Competition
Too much competition and too many fee
No NZ support
Currently no support for NZ
Ok - could be better
Payments are the main issue (no up front money option & takes a long time to clear money upto 10 days, should really be immediately as it is bank to bank here) Then also the commission for smaller jobs makes them not really worth doing
Great
Good app - easy to use
Difficult to get Refunds!
I wanted my money back after a tasker ghosted me. Instead of refunding my money, airtasker just gives you credits and makes it very difficult to get your refund! I cannot get a refund via the App, it has to be via a pop up browser that fails authentication. This is shady practice.
