Latest update not compatible with older iPads
Latest update not compatible with older iPads and web version is full of flaws.
Great service
Excellent place to gain attention and manage the selling process. Managing payment through the app was instant and very convenient
Fees
Advertising fees are off the scale… greed will be this website demise. It’s customers that keep this alive not share holders. Collecting Cars will be my next port of call sadly
Average
Aggressive automatic repetitive cancellation of my “run till sold” advert.
Only use this
Everything else sucks when trying to sell a car with all scammers out there, Carsales is safe and helpful
Waste of Money
Carsales charges a listing fee based on the sale price of your car, had barely any enquires and sold my car with the same photos, details and length of listing on Facebook marketplace - but for a higher amount than I had listed on Carsales. Don’t waste your time. Facebook marketplace is free and had more serious buyers. Most inquiries on carsales were people wanting to detail my car, or car yards reaching out to try to arrange a trade in.
Easy to use
Always easy to use to find cars or sell them.
Big fail with latest update
Carsales is a great platform to buy and sell on. It is a little bit expensive but by far the best. However, with the latest update, please remove the search bar from the bottom of every screen. It is way too crowded now and ads keep popping up above it too which is really quite ridiculous, taking up way too much screen space. Makes you wonder if this was tested properly!
Great app if it works
Really unstable, crashes constantly and needs to be closed
Kluger Grande
It was a very seamless process. Encountered 2 spam agents and saw through the sale with Ricky.
AI slop
What is this AI slop app?! Use the website, it’s shocking.
Big improvement
After selling a car in January, when I received numerous enquiries from disingenuous “buyers”, including chatbots, my experience selling another car in July/August was completely different. This time, I received only genuine enquiries and then used the site’s payment system, which could not have been easier. A great improvement to the whole selling process. Congratulations, Carsales.com!
Bug
Location filter not working in older app version on iPad Air
Car sales never fails !
Exactly as car sales sell guide recommended,I followed to the the letter, car sold within a week for the right price ,very happy
Costs too much - Delivers too little
Carsales used to be the marketplace for selling vehicles in Australia. I’ve recently paid hundreds of dollars just for the privilege of listing my low-kilometre Mitsubishi Triton, priced “below market value”, and I haven’t received a single genuine inquiry this month—just dealers and car buyers trying to lowball with spam offers. Carsales now charges more than ever while delivering less than ever. It’s clearly no longer the marketplace it once was, and I’m simply wasting my time and money here. I wouldn’t recommend Carsales to anyone looking to sell a vehicle.
Sold Amarok 2019 v6
Helpful feedback on pricing, improving add etc. notifications on messages were useful. Handling payments through car sales provides security.
no colour option
no option to select colour of the car. i think that should be added
Sold it
To a dealer, but in this market better than nuthin’!!!
Worst Ordeal to sell a car. Carsales is for dealers only.
Carsales is a grouping of potential harassment claims. The behaviour of the private dealer market is abhorrent! Abusive messages and petty price gouging. There is no place for retail sellers on Carsales.com.au. The dealers hide behind the anonymity and just behave like pigs. Last car I will pay to use carsales. For the $600 you pay to list the car you get F-all. At least back in the day you would get a sticker for the car. Take my terrible experience as a warning, and stay off here unless you want to get belittled by keyboard warriors.

Good app
I like this app. The app helps retrieve a good selection of cars based on the parameters entered but I don't like the fact that you can't also select the types of brands that you want to include in the filter. I instead have to select the cars from each brand to review where as I can't then compare the vehicles based on their brand.
Sylvana
Great experience.
App Performance is Terrible
Application performance has been terrible for some time. Application hangs/ freezes constantly. After running the app for a few minutes my phone starts to heat up very quickly and I can see high cpu usage reported in the app logs. It would be great if you guys could prioritise app performance and usability over features like AI search which isn’t that useful. This app used to run really well but in its current state it’s clunky and frustrating to use.
Good response
Sold my car
Great selling platform
Easy to sell, easy to manage ads. Flat rate.
Wait days for message to be sent
Terrible app. Cars sell before your message is sent cause have to wait for team to review message before it sent.
GT Mazda3
Great easy service & options including payment thru carsales
Buggy and feeezzing all the time
Please update the iOS and iPad os version, it freezes a lot when searching vehicles…
Satisfied customer
Carsales made the process easy and a fair evaluation of sale price. The car was a good one so first that viewed it purchased it. Good result for us selling and buyer purchasing.
Waste of Money
Absolute waste of money, on average 2 views a week, I thought I'd avoid annoying scammers by using carsales but carsales avoids everyone, absolute overpriced rubbish app, should be considered a scam app and developers jailed!
Merc GLA
Great experience
Carsales Ultimate Package – Very Disappointing Experience
I paid $289 for the Carsales Ultimate package, expecting better exposure and genuine buyer enquiries. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different. Even after initially listing the car at the suggested market price, I received very little genuine buyer interest. I eventually reduced the price below the suggested market price, but this still did not generate meaningful buyer traction. What I received instead was a large number of suspicious messages and scam attempts. Several people claiming to be interested buyers asked me to purchase a vehicle history report from specific third-party websites. My biggest concern is the lack of effective protection for sellers at the enquiry stage. Carsales says it has SMS verification and systems to block suspicious enquiries, but my experience was that I still received numerous questionable enquiries. Considering I paid $289 for the premium package, I expected significantly better-quality enquiries and a safer selling experience. Instead, I spent money and time dealing with scammers and irrelevant enquiries. Interestingly, I had much better results through Facebook Marketplace, where I paid no listing fee, and received more genuine buyer interest. Based on my experience, I would not recommend paying for the Carsales Ultimate package for a private sale. Even the cheaper packages seem difficult to justify when you can potentially get better genuine buyer traction elsewhere without paying a listing fee. Carsales needs to do more to protect private sellers, particularly by strengthening buyer verification and filtering suspicious enquiries before they reach sellers. Paying a premium advertising fee should provide more than just exposure—it should provide a reasonable level of protection and quality enquiries. In fact they are not even promoting their website no where else and people now know only other social media platforms than this. For me, the $289 was a waste of money and time.
