Still the greatest car magazine
With the Internet packed full of supposed ‘influencers’ who claim to know how to review cars just because they have a driving license, it’s great to see original and the best is still going strong. Clear, informative, intelligent and interesting. The best resource for all things car related.
Useless download
Why doesn’t it just download on the day of publication. You have to fight to get the thing to open the new magazine to download. Good magazine utterly useless app
Great Magazine : Terrible App support
I have been an avid reader and on/ off subscriber to Autocar for decades. I currently have the app subscription since 2015 but it has recently cut me off. I can see old stuff but not 19 August and I doubt tomorrow’s will come either. Pixelmags have no interest in helping and haven’t yet managed to make a single response that isn’t auto-generated. Come on Autocar, these guys are letting you down terribly. Will I get any sort of response or am I going to be forced to change allegiance? I hope not.
Forced to use the app and re-login every few days
My printed edition has been cancelled, now being forced to use the app and have to login again every few days to access my library. What’s was wrong with a simple printed edition?
Paid multi times for the same issue and still can read it
Tried everything…. Restarting the app, paying again (and again), updated to latest iOS. It just keep asking me to buy. Fed up.
The Original & still the best weekly publication
Have read it since 1987 on a D plate Nova from Vauxhall Opel Dealership in Wallasey I worked for before moving to AFG Edgemill and onto Rover Chester then Mill Garages as a Dealer Principal with Fiat & Alfa Romeo for the launch of the 156 and 166 then to Sligo for Hyundai ,BMW,Fiat & Alfa Romeo Launch at Martin Reilly. Totally sh** experience
I purchase a copy and nothing. The app just returns to the purchase option. Tap the cover image, nothing. Look in my library, nothing. Try to purchase again. ‘You’ve already done that, would you like it again ?” You bet ! Tap the cover still nothing. Complain through the app messaging - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ! You just have to wait until at some point the app decides to let you in. Pathetic.
Absolute junk.
Am not buying any other electronic subscriptions from this company in case they end up the same way. Haven’t been able to access issues of Autocar for over a year, and no response to my emails and no one to help. Autocar, an 80’s mag with 80’s tech support.

Good Upgrade 6.5.2
Has been working very well since complete revamp some time back now. Latest upgrade (6.5.2) adds some neat features, and definitely enhances the reading experience, moving on from the “PDF” feel of the original towards a more digital feel.
Please give me the mag I’ve just paid for
I have just purchased the 2nd of December issue and despite a successful purchase the addition does not download. Rubbish. I keep repeating the purchase process and it tells me I already own it would I like it for free but then doesn’t give it to me. Rubbish.
Terrible usability
I know the app is free so they need to make their money through ads but they are so intrusive it makes the app pretty much unusable and puts me off paying for the full version as I can’t tell how much is down to the ads and how much is just a poor app. Shame as the content is good if your patient enough to wade through all the interruptions

Without doubt the worst web site of a magazine I have come across. The past 5 attempts to purchase have failed first time. When I try to purchase it/a second time, I am told I have already purchased. Such a pity as I enjoy reading the magazine on line. If I could give it no stars I would
Don’t bother - app will not recognize Apple ids
I have had this with other online mags from the same publisher and have let the subs lapse because of it, but Autocar hasn’t been affected until the recent makeover. Now, any attempt to download new content via the Apple id route fails, and has done for several days now. It is a shame, the journalism is great, but the app developer isn’t up to the same standard.

Problems downloading individual issue purchases
For the past couple of years single issue purchase takes repeated attempts to transact. Even though payment is taken the magazine does not download. Frustrating.
Finally this mag is on my iTouch!!

Cannot get old copies
I had run this fine for a few years but it stopped showing new additions. I tried logging off and on but now I can’t get into my account. I have tried to contact the support but they don’t get back to you. Not sure what to do next.
Poor app.
Dreadful reliability and none existent customer service. They don’t ever reply so maybe they don’t care. Subscribed to Autocar for 30 years - I deserve better than this.
Merc Man
Since changing over to the new on-line provider all is well and the magazine is there every Wednesday morning on my IPad I changed over from the paper version early in lock down as the post was horrendous at the time and now I prefer it and won’t be going back. It will also be great when on holiday to download the latest copy whilst sitting by the pool......still the best mag out there to keep us Petrol Heads entertained......happy days,
Doesn’t work
Utter failure.
Great content, frustrating app
Love the content and happy to pay the hefty yearly subscription to get it, but this app is buggy and seldom updated. It's been years since I have been able to see and download a new issue after I get a notification saying it's available. Have to do a tedious workaround of deleting the app, re-downloading it and restoring my subscription. Now for the past several days it just says 'there's been a problem loading your content' and shows me nothing at all. Aaargh! Would never put up with this if there was another reasonable way to get this content :/
Superb Mag
Early days but the move from PixelMags to Pocketmags is a HUGE improvement! Magazines are now present on the day of issue and not days/weeks late. Thank you Autocar for listening.
Useless
I can’t access my account as the rest password link times out. New issues of the magazine weren’t coming through either. This really is an appalling app.
Autocar app
I have had trouble before and now it is back again - no magazine for two weeks now, no response or action from Pixelmags although I have twice contacted support by email. I have a long held a subscription, due to expire in May next year. The problem cannot be Covid. Come on Autocar - sort Pixelmags out because we are being fleeced in your name.
I’m out
After years of subscription and weeks of login problems, I’ve stopped my subscription. I had a similar issue with Autosport, both Haymarket publications and stopped that subscription. Customer service appalling, still waiting for answer to my query. Avoid.
What an awful app!
This is the most frustrating of any app I use regularly, or try to.Impossible to download with any consistency. For a magazine of Autocars reputation absolutely dreadful that it is not yet sorted out.

I’ve had an App subscription for four years & it’s worked ok until July of this year. Now I can’t download any publications, past or present & pixel media are ignoring my communications. Autocar is the motoring bible - what is going on?

I love cars! I trusted this! I can see the covers but I cant see the other pages! Make an update to read this on digital for free! ACTUALLY I didn’t relize until I saw swipe to preview no it’s gone from 2** to 5*****
