FRAUD ALERT
Have recently spent £39.99. on the PLUS option, should have read the revews earlier.Worked well for a day then reverted to “you have reached the limit of your free items”.Please would somebody at the developers listen, as this fraud and total mis use of promoting a product.Apple should remove this TERRIBLE joke of an app as soon as possible.Why wont Autosprt correct these problems as they look as though they have been going on for a long time.

Good quality but Frustrating.
The news articles are written well. The layout and features are good and Autosport plus is good value. But there are two things that make me want to delete the app. The first is that the no spoiler notification setting keeps resetting to give me notifications even though I’ve chosen not to be notified. This means I have had pop ups that have told me race results I have been trying to avoid seeing. I have had to turn all notifications off for the app to avoid this. Secondly the recent introduction of YouTube videos at the top of articles that auto play WITH volume ON are plain annoying. I’m sure it boosts Autosports views on YouTube by auto playing but even with my phone on silent I get a blast of the intro music on each article I open which is embarrassing when in a public space and also stops any music I was listening to at the time. I sent a feedback about this but had no reply. Please make the videos default to volume off.
Good but could do more
The app and alerts on races are very good, but it is annoying that it won’t let you read the full news articles, so you only get a half the latest story.
Rubbish
I can’t believe I now need a security code to be sent to my e mail address every time I need to log in, rather than being able to use my password. This is not a banking app that requires this level of security.
Frustrated
Keep on getting the sign-in notice,Once I do nothing changes.This only happens on my iPad.The app works great on my iPhone.Also,the screen no longer turns horizontal on my iPad.Again!
Great content, poor app
Repeatedly forgets that I have a subscription, then log in fails. Also, why does it not adapt to me putting my iPad in landscape mode.

Ok, things seem much better. I just hope it stays that way. Still almost impossible to get any response from the customer service team but the app seems to be working ok.

Love this App. Gives me that extra bit of Adrenaline I need for the week ahead. Especially having Petrol in my veins.

Not worth the hassle
I’ve been reading Autosport in one form or another since the early 80’s. I’ve persevered with the app for the few years, but I’ve had enough. How hard is it to write an app (or a mobile website for that matter) that can keep your paying customers actually logged in so they can view the content they have paid for. Apparently too difficult for these developers. There are a plethora of other outlets, many of which are free, that provide far better service.
Does the job. Just.
It’s taken till this iteration for the app to work ok and follow some of the interface rules. It doesn’t refresh well at all and can be frustrating because of this. It logs out at seemingly random times and just makes it annoying to use. Can’t be that hard to basically create a skin for a website?!?

Having coughed up for the content, is it unreasonable to want to be allowed to read it? Everything is met with a pay barrier, even when you log in. Absolute rubbish.

Great content, shame about the app
Put simply the app is appalling. Ads still show when logged in with a Plus account, constant signing outs and no notifications! Use the web this app is broken.
Newest update (3.1.5) broken
The latest update has broken the live streaming of preseason testing in Barcelona. It gives an error saying that this version is no longer supported despite being the most recent update released this week. (On an iPhone 12 pro max)

Nice App
As an daily Autosport reader this App was a long time coming. Overall it's quite useful. A refresh button would be handy as sometimes I've had to go back and forth between pages to get new articles to load. Being able to zoom in on images in the gallery would be a plus. But for the love of Mary and Joseph, make the App icon high resolution for the Retina display!!! It looks horrible on iPhone 4's pristine screen all jagged! Wasn't that obvious to you developers?! I mean for $4.99 which I guess is marginally overpriced you could at least give us a high quality logo. Just bookmarking the Autosport homepage from Safari to the homescreen looks better. Other than that nice App!
Great but somethings wrong underneath
The app itself is pretty good. Navigation took a little bit to get used to as an avid reader of the website but eventually figured it out. It’s still not the best but you can adapt to it. Needs the ability to change font size or viewing size as the default text size is quite small and/or not the easiest to read. Only giving it two stars though because something is truly broken underneath the hood as whenever I run the app my battery usage skyrockets to the point where my phone will get noticeably warm and the app will register in the phone’s settings as the biggest battery user. Before I realized this I would leave the app running in the background and noticed my phone batter would be below 50% within four hours of coming off the charger, that’s just from it being left in the background. I have to remember to force close the app as soon as I’m done reading the article or switch back to using the website. (I’m mainly sending this review to being this issue to the attention of the developer, I’m on an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I am an Autosport+ subscriber. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s seen this issue)
Update is a backwards step
I wrote the below 3 years ago. The app still fails to remember my login details. When I do login the app screen goes white and the spinning icon never stops. A force close and restart of the app leaves me back to logging in again. Unusable. As a paying subscriber this is unacceptable. —————————— Ironically, given the title of this review, the single most annoying omission is the removal of the back arrow so you can quickly navigate stories in a section. I can’t understand why this feature was removed. As of March ‘19 it now refuses to persist my subscriber login across app launches meaning typing in a username and password each time I want to read content.

Apple ID support
I am logged out of my Autosport Plus membership (which uses my Apple ID) and the app won't let me log back in, I have tried contacting support through the Feedback form but have had no response.
A giant step backwards
Updated the app yesterday and frankly it’s mess, the old one was easy to navigate to the categories & series I wanted read about but this one make you scroll through everything & then you still can’t find what you want. With a magazine subscription you could also download a digital version but I can’t find that feature
Can’t login after pay
Paid for the annual plus app and it won’t let me read the articles and says I need to subscribe. It won’t work after authentication either. Painful!
Easy to navigate app for quick bits of news
While new to the Autosport app, so I have nothing to compare it to, I find the app easy enough to navigate around. The breakdown by type of racing on the top is very useful. Great content too, so the subscription is worth the cash outlay.
Awful!
The worst app and the most toxic group of motorsport journalists. They’ll block you on instagram for pointing out their mistakes. Instead of blocking people, own your mistakes.
A bit like the Williams F1 Team...
Used to be great but not any more! I subscribed to Autosport Plus in April 2019 using the old version of the App. Everything was great until March this year when something happened to the Autosport website. Since then the App has been awful, glitchy and no way of accessing Plus content unless you go to the website. What’s the point in having the App?? I renewed my subscription recently in the hope things might get fixed but still waiting. Fingers crossed Williams & Autosport get their acts together soon!!
Agree with other reviewer
Sadly it’s an awful app. The subscription issues mentioned in the earlier review are so frustrating, and not being addressed. What’s worse is there’s no acknowledgment of this, nothing is being done, and no apologies to customers who are paying a subscription and not able to view the paid-for content! It’s unfair treatment of people who want to support autosport magazine. Subscription issues aside, it must be the only app that doesn’t allow you to properly zoom in on photos, change view to landscape, etc, etc. The Race Hub is a great idea but even that’s full of issues. I’m a reader of autosport for 40 years, such a shame the app falls short of the magazines excellent standards.
Tapping links no longer opens a story
In the last few days, I can’t open new stories or articles by tapping links in the app.
Advert plague
99% of the screen is taken up by adverts to the point where you struggle to find the article text. Stick to the website and run an ad blocker so it’s tolerable. Can’t block the ads in the app.
Devs, look here -> you broke the log in
Good app except you’ve broken the login for Autoport Plus. QA anyone?? Come on!!
Authentication loop
Love Autosport, but this app needs to improve. Sometimes I spent more time trying to authenticate my Plus account than reading articles. Usually blocked by the paywall and when I sign in everything seems ok, and then I get the paywall again.
They’ve changed for the better!

Basics really ******************************* A massive update from the old app. Well done! There are a couple if gripes to sort though: If you’re a Plus subscriber you frequently have to log in and out for the app to recognise you (interestingly the plus content works fine on the native News app) You need to be able to swipe or press back while at the bottom of a story rather than scrolling back to the top. Otherwise excellent!

Slow slow slow
Painfully slow to load news pages correctly and then the news page you click on, offers nothing extra that other apps (sky sports for f1) can’t offer, or no extra news that Flipboard for instance can give you for others motorsports. Unless you subscribe to Autosport plus not worth it
