The Cyclist Ride
Hi, I am a super fan of the Cyclist Magazine. I have joined at the celebration of the 100th beginning issue. I love each issue since then. I have recently purchased the Cyclist Ride ‘The Greatest Cycling Routes in the World’. I find the book a wonderful resource to get to know all the greatest places to cycle to in Europe & the Rest of the World. I am wondering if the cyclist could provide a resource with all the rides routes in the Cyclist Ride available as device compatible files for anyone interested to do any of the rides. App crashes when opening
I really like this magazine content although the iPad app has stopped working. It appears there haven’t been any updates for 3yrs. Anyone got any ideas to get it working again ?
Better than the rest
Really enjoy this magazine. It’s a class above the rest. Smart and collectable
Great mag, but app desperately needs an update.
The current app was updated for iOS 13 and needs a refresh. It constantly locks up. The magazine is great, but I won’t renew on this platform.
Good but started crashing
Have enjoyed catching up on older issues of the magazine but issues 100 to 108 cause the app to crash after a few seconds. Will stop me from renewing my subscription until its fixed!
Top stuff
A nice mix of product reviews, rides from around the world, tech talk and advice on keeping fit both on and off the bike. It’s a stylish package but with substance containing stunning photos of the months featured ride and the features are informed and witty.

Well thought out app
Great app, doesn't crash. Allows offline reading of Cyclist magazine.
Great mag but app remains very buggy
Why is the app so rubbish, still? Some months I can login fine, others it refuses to recognise my email, customer or account number. Waste of time and money. Makes me realise why there are 3 issues for £5 offers to try and tempt me back. It did, but not again unless the app can be sorted out. It’s 2022 for f’s sake. The app has been around for ages, why hasn’t it been perfected yet?
Great app and magazine. 2 problems
Love the magazine and love reading it with the app. There is however one major thing I’d love to see fixed... You can’t access your downloads unless you are online! I discovered this when I downloaded the latest edition to read on my iPad on the train. When I opened the app, no downloads were visible. I’d assumed this was a failed download until the same happened again when I tried to read it on a flight on my iPhone. With WiFi and mobile data turned off you can’t access your downloads. Kinda defeats the purpose of downloading them in the first place...

Brilliant app and an even better bike magazine
Great magazine, poor app!
After update the app crashes as it starts to load. This must be the tenth time I cannot access the app. I wont be renewing next time and will be asking apple fr a refund.
Coffee table read
Great coffee table read, with on personal feel to the reading material written by Internet social media cyclists with a very I personal touch. Why not write about the traditional club scene this is not just a Uk thing cycling clubs are all across Europe and from my experience welcome Uk riders and know more about their region than pseudo advertising rides link up with the locals.
Downloaded magazines don’t persist
Hi, App used to work brilliantly on the iPhone. Now downloaded magazines don’t persist. These need to be downloaded almost every other day. I have turned off the auto archive function but this still happens.
Poor value
I feel the content / editorial quality is OK but limited. Very expensive for what you get. The UI / UX is sub par IMO. Would expect more for $7 a issue. Disappointed.
A classy read
I’ve been reading the likes of bikes arc an cycling plus mags for a couple of years now but was a little bored with them to be honest. The same “shoot outs” in every other month and a kind of “red top” feel to the whole the. You know, where the bait of a juicy headline is all on the front cover to get you to buy, then you find out inside it’s all a bit wafer thin and same again. After the demise of bikes etc, I tried cyclist. I’ve got to say it was a wrench to pull myself away from the lure of the front bait page to cyclist as it is so minimalist. Just a single picture of a lone cyclist from afar on some beautiful scenery is the normal. What a difference in side though! Really well written content to just the right depth without going to the fine end. The quality feel of the mag is high end too and I really savour when the postie drops it on the mat 😂. All in all, an excellent read. The bait is inside honestly 👍 Ian McDonald
AVOID!
Avoid the digital app at all costs. Using on a top of the line iPad Pro and it crashes... all the time. I have complained through the account link within the magazine and just get fobbed off to Apple. Never a fan of people who don’t own their problems.
Useful app for those long train journeys
Cyclist is my favourite cycling mag, packed full of features, advice, reviews and tips. Being able to easily access it anywhere and refer back to past copies is great.
Great mag, dodgy app
Great magazine, really enjoy the content, style and reviews. App keeps being reviewed and each time it crashes. I pay extra for digital edition, God knows why. Latest revision lost all my previous downloaded copies and when I tried to download multiple issues at once it had a melt down again. Had to delete and reset to get it going. If anyone at the publishing house reads this, simply add the ability to bookmark and then leave it alone!
Ok, but could be better
It's a lot smaller than the print edition and doesn't load the advertising or pictures in articles. Why doesn't Dennis Publishing link the ads to shops / web etc Navigation also takes a while to work out.
Endless need to login
So the app keeps loging me out, then you need to find your subscription ref, which is an email somewhere - yes I know I could write it down, but really? Whose paying who here? Easy customer experience should be the goal
There is a problem validating iTunes receipts (21004)
Good Magazine but App is functionally useless, double charged for items, prevented download of paid for items. Received the message above. Dennis publishing refused to acknowledge a problem. Apple were great in giving refund as were unable to resolve the issue.
App rewrite
The app has lost a lot of the functionality of the last update but works ok (as far as it goes) on my iPad mini. Real P.I.T.A. To have to download all my back issues again after installing the new app. though. Was forced to update as I couldn't get the latest mag issue without doing so.
App requires a lot of work
Mag is great. Like the writing styles and look of the mag. App keeps crashing and freezing from time to time. I'm sure it's nothing a little work can't sort. Will definitely keep subscribing to the print edition .
Great electronic publication
After initially buying the magazine in paper for several years I made the switch last year to the electronic subscription. It's great to have available at work and when traveling and the format and navigation is easy to follow.
Great mag, annoying app
Magazine and content is fantastic as it always has been and the only mag I have subscription for, but the app just lets it down. I went to digital subs only to save a few trees, but I’m close to going back to print. I download editions to read on my iPad, enjoy reading them and then they’ve disappeared when I come back to them, meaning I have to download them all over again! It happens all the time - content never stays on the device! Contacted Dennis customer service but to no avail, can’t find a problem.

The best Cycling Magazine. But be careful: If you change your iPad, it could be, that you are not able to restore your issues. Sad...
Used to be my favourite
I love to read Cyclist and have read both paper and soft copy editions as a subscriber since issue one. However the app has recently stopped working for me, telling me I have no active subscription. This would be fine if just a blip, but it has been like this for several weeks now, and to make matters worse I have received no reply from several email requests to customer services. Very disappointing.
Issues with partial download
Magazine is ok but only partially downloaded, despite having good internet. Waste of time

Love this magazine - quality content with great photography and a good balance of rides / routes / product reviews and fitness related articles. Have just subscribed to the digital version too - now I get it everywhere and all the back issues too! What is there not to like?!
Great magazine - terrible software
Love this magazine but swapping to paper version. You lose so much of the magazine in its electronic form and now to make matters worse the latest edition has been in the shops several days but is not yet available here in electronic form. What is the point having a subscription for a magazine you don’t get?

App even worse
Diabolical and has progressively got worse. It used to crash a lot but there are no details of issue contents. We need a zoom enabled contents page so we can see what is in each issue although even the website hides this too!
Stylish, clear and informs
I only get it online and love it. Beautiful photography, great writing. I have been following some of your routes from the big ride and uk ride sections. Love the fact I can access every edition from the beginning and it's all at my fingertips. Great fun, great and useful suggestions.
Unsubscriber
Been a subscriber since issue 2. App no longer function on my iPad so no downloads for 6 months despite updates. Often I can't even be bothered to read the whole magazine anymore - there's only so many articles you can tolerate by strava queens being paid to write 'nice' things about stuff they haven't paid for.
