What people like
- Very accurate local weather data
- Great real-time radar updates
- Excellent for connecting weather stations
- Detailed and easy to read layout
What they complain about
- Keeps crashing when you open it
- Ads interrupt you constantly
- Forecasts are often wildly inaccurate
- Support never actually helps
Excellent weather app
The layout and feel of this app are way better than the TWC app even though they are run by the same company. I like the fact that there is no future radar that in the TWC app is actually forced upon you before seeing the past radar. I find the future radars are largely gimmicky and look almost cartoonish. The 10 day forecast is very nice how you can see exactly when during the days the highest chance of precipitation is forecasted at a glance on a linear graph. The advertisements while always present seem to be minimally invasive. Mostly this is all my personal preference of course, but if you’re searching for an alternative weather app I would give this one a try.
Still Constantly Crashing
The iPadOS app still consistently crashes after viewing the weather map or extended forecast windows and then closing it. This has been going on for years after multiple reinstalls and updates of both iOS, iPadOS and the app. Please fix it.
Forecast Missing Dew Point
My only complaint is that the 7 day forecast shows “feels like” and humidity but living in MN, I’m more interested in knowing the dew point for the week
App missing info
Why does the mobile site still have a better interface and more info than the app? ADD DEW POINT TO THE APP.
No few points on graphs
Not being able to view dew points on the graph is annoying. Desktop version and even mobile website version has it, but not the app. Lame.
My favorite Wx App
I have been using this app since before the name change. As a former pilot I enjoy having the level of weather detail and knowledge at my fingertips.
Inaccurate
Over the last year this app has become completely inaccurate. Obviously this app is using an AI model to run its predictions and has gone from one of the best to one of the worst. Two day predictions used to be very accurate but now it changes hour to hour. Delete.
Forecasts Consistently Low
This summer the App’s forecasted weather is consistently 5-10 degrees below actual tempeture. At the moment it’s 12 degrees below the real feel temp. The high was scheduled to be 89. It’s currently 92 with a real feel of 103 at ~68% humidity. My car temps have been 5 degrees above WU’s temps.
just not accurate
usually off by 10° or more. maybe it’s bc of hharp. but you cannot count on it, that’s for sure
Good forecasts
Still no dewpoint in the app. Why do I have to go to the web to get this?
Gerry
I’ve had this app for ages. It’s precise, and accuracy is important in weather, especially today as global warming is turning our world off its axis. Terrific app!
A Mislabeled Random Number Generator
I cannot tell you the number of times that their precipitation estimates have been off by a FACTOR OF 10! Not days in the future. No, that would be an excusable occasional error. Just hours away, and they are so ridiculously wrong. I would hope that people get fired over things like that, but they seem to get promoted. They just changed my rain forecast for the next few hours from 2.70 inches to 0.01 inches. Nice to have a 270X error range. This app would be better as a random number generator.
My arthritis is more accurate!
Your sunny skies forecast? It rained for half an hour. Didn’t even show it on the radar. What a joke. Used to be the best Weather app. So sad. The huge lack of accuracy is why I quit the paid version during the lockdown. SMH
Radar
Radar is accurate but incredibly slow and jerky. Other apps are quicker and smooth. Forecasts are seldom accurate until just hours before an event. Long range forecasts are worthless.
Needs work
Used to have Forecast on maps…gone. Now it only shows what you already experienced….????? Also used to show barometric pressure… also gone. Less is not more.
Vacation
I’ve been all over the US and several countries in Europe, what a great way to start my day knowing exactly what the weather will bring.
Autoplay video ads are annoying
Decent weather app but the incessant autoplay video ads are so annoying as to make it unusable.
Great app, but fix the (apparent) memory issues
generally really love the hyper local forecasting, but I wish the programming issues would be fixed – there are refresh issues when switching between weather stations, and the app crashes about 90% of the time after accessing the map.
You are not accurate
You are not accurate with the weather forecast please be accurate with the forecast so that we can get the most accurate weather possible
Running behind!
App is behind by 30-45 minutes!
Almost Perfect Weather App
I love WU. It seems to be the most accurate weather forecast for my area, and the layout and design of the app is great. My only minor gripe is the lack of Home Screen widgets.
Terrible
This app can’t predict the weather 30 minutes in the future. At noon 100%rain chance 1.6 inches . At 4:00pm 30%chance .05 inches,at 5: 00pm 100%chance .6 inches. No rain fell at all , how do you make plans with junk like this? NWS said 30% all day long and were correct.
Overall great and accurate
Although I find the app to be extremely accurate and easy to use lately it crashes if you open the weather map and then close the map to continue in the app. After it crashes you have to restart in order to view the daily forecast or hour by hour forecast.
AQI issue
Realize this app hasn’t been updated in a year? What gives - that aside though the AQI provided in the app is glaringly wrong when compared to other weather apps and Airnow.gov. For example, today WU said the AQI was 81 when the government air monitor and every other app said it was over 400! That’s a massive difference! One that either saves me from Valley Fever or that I decide the air is fine enough to go on a run when it’s not! Please fix or I’m dropping the app
Tough forecasting area
The forecast is often wrong and shifts drastically by the minute sometimes. NOAA has been much more reliable. Most other items and weather stations are great.
It’s awesome!
Reliable, accurate and no bs.
Doesn’t work anymore
With the last update to Tahoe 26.1.2, a blank screen comes up when I try to run the app and I have to use “force quit” to get the screen back.
Extremely Useful and Accurate
Compared to other real time weather app WU is leaps and bounds above the rest. Temp forecast’s are much more accurate and trustworthy than competitors. Radar updates in near real time. Future weather prediction allow me to greatly to plan ahead for my day and night.
Crashing again
This app has a history of locking up one me and crashing. Multiple install/uninstall cycles didn’t help. It had gotten better, but it has started crashing again regularly recently.
Great App Before it Crashes
I’m finding this app crashes and freezes up frequently
Accurate Weather, Great App
Love this app as a better way to get the weather. Got tired of the Apple weather app inaccuracy. Ads are annoying, but I went premium and it’s worth it. Beautiful and sophisticated.
bad
not only they take your money But..ads COVER the screen ..luck to see a sliver of weather . shameful
Nice design
It reads easy and serves my needs well. The app on ios has some bugs. For example, if you switch between two locations, bot all data refreshes. You have to repeat the new location selection to complete the data refresh.
No support and random alerts that are wrong.
I use to really like the app and what it offered for local weather stations. However it is now sending random alerts, often incorrect and some from places I have never been to and over 3000km away. I have opened support and they don’t respond. Until they fix it I’d avoid the app. I am giving them one more week then deleting it to stop the random and incorrect alerts.
Location!
Not thrilled that I can’t enter the closest location in the app! San Jose is a large area and being on the SW side the temps can be quite different than SJC area. I think the website has more options though I can’t view it right now to know for sure.
Reliable and Accurate
Never had an issue with the app or the site in general. Love the weather radar in real time and has always been on point with predicted weather in the coming days.
Keeps crashing and closing on me.
Keeps crashing and closing on me for a couple weeks now. And why no widget yet?
Very informative
App has improved greatly , from few years ago
Inaccurate: Says it’s foggy and no rain, but it’s raining!
Currently no clouds or rain at the moment when I look at the radar. In fact it says it’s foggy. But clear outside it is raining. ‘Zero’ on the radar map. I’ve used this for years but it’s gone downhill so badly I have to unload it now. Bye!
Langage offert
Terrible
Forecasts are wildly inaccurate and app freezes up constantly. Completely useless.
Real time?
Our app does not open in real time. Date missing on pages. Can lead to dangerous interpretations. Reinstalled app and changed settings. Now data is up to date but still needs date on pages to confirm info. 4 *
Disappointed
This was the site yo go to. Don’t know what happened but the design is horrible. Done by a child I think. Icons are tiny. Hard to read. Other weather apps are going the same route. Oh well Looks like I will be removing it. Even the apple weather app is better.
Français
Pourquoi ne pas faire une app en français ça serait moins compliqué pour le monde qui ne parle pas en anglais.
Great App
I have used this app for years without problem. Supports my weather station so is ad free. The only that needs improvement is weather alerts. Would be nice to be able to click screen to get to alerts. My work around was to make alert stay on screen until dismissed.
Must Pay Twice
It’s really shady. I pay for a premium subscription and I can login on the Web using my email address and a password. However, when you download this app, it forces you to buy a subscription through Apple if you want the premium features. Fix this you shady knuckleheads!
You need only this one
Reliable, accurate forecasts
Cannot set to see « Future » clouds/precipitations projection
“On the laptop version, we can set it to see the ‘Future’ position of the radar’s findings, but not on the app. This is a major drawback (possibly dangerous) so I have to Use Weather Network as retaliation for stupidity
Where are the Widgets???
I’ve been using weather underground for many many years as a paid subscriber. One thing that I find extremely important our IOS widgets! They used to be there and now they have been gone for quite a while. I have wrote to weather underground contact and never get a response. Hopefully, this will be Addressed in an update.
