There are more advanced ones but this is great and you can tell the people making it are trying and care.
Paid for this outright years ago, now they’re charging us subscription for same features we bought!
I’m really disappointed with the team at V2go. We have been using this app for my now 12 year old non-verbal autistic son for roughly the 7-8 years. We bought the pro version when we first downloaded the app and now the devs have changed to a subscription model and locked us out of features we PAID FOR and were using for years. My son relies on this app to communicate as do many other people, and to try and charge people twice for features the bought outright years prior is scummy business practice. No one who bought this outright should be charged again to use the features they paid for previously. Not only that, I tried emailing the team about it and received no reply. They clearly care more about monetizing their customers and those with special needs more than letting people use the features they paid for previously. You guys need to rethink your business model.
Easy to use, wish the account could be the same across multiple devices
We love this app! We needed something simple to Use and easy to Understand for my 6 year old with autism who Is nonverbal. He caught on super quickly and we love it! The library of cards has a great assortment and we love that we can record audio to attach to each card, organize them easily, and make our own cards. The only major drawback is that once I get it all set up with all of the cards he needs on a regular basis, organize them the way he needs them, and attach audio to every single card, it can only applies to the one device. So when his iPad needs to be replaced or if the battery on his iPad dies and he needs to use one of our phones to communicate with us, We have to set up every single app on every device from scratch. The account isn’t connected across devices. We also have to pay the same fee every single time for every device in order to have access to the larger library of cards. I really wish there was a way that we could make changes on the account, on one device, and have the changes be the same throughout every device. I would be willing to pay more in order to have this feature. Because Otherwise is at such a good fit for our family. We have not found anything else as simple to use.
A few problems.
Hello Bo innovations. I’ve recently tried this app. I’m looking for the right apps for my sister who has verbal shut-downs. I’ll say the good stuff and the bad stuff. Bad: The pictures are… kinda… nightmare fuel, to say the least. Every time the user tries to click one of the buttons, it makes the user scroll through all the buttons, which is annoying. It makes it very hard to communicate, especially since it does not have a sentence bar, or a keyboard. Good: the pictures are very easy to tell what they are, it’s pretty simple to use (kinda) and it doesn’t require the user to scroll too much. You can search for a button using a search bar at the top. It’s better for children under six years old. Thank you giving the time to read this review.
Darn, it has been freezing up for me
UPDATE: I just downloaded this app to my new iPad and my access has been killed. The developer states that previous owners of their original app can restore their access, but this did NOT work for me when I did so- I can no longer add my own images to print, which I definitely could with the original app. Without being able to add my own images, this app is no longer useable. PREVIOUS REVIEW: This worked really well for us in the past but is freezing up now. My iPad is very full, so it may be a memory issue, hopefully if others are having the same issue, this will be addressed.
Helpful addition!
It would be extremely helpful to us adults with autism if you could save pre-assembled sentences. Like, let’s say you’re anticipating people asking a specific question so you anticipate answering with a specific sentence so you don’t have to go looking for the correct buttons to communicate. For example, having the sentence “I’m non verbal and I would like to purchase this,” ready at the single touch of a button!

Sad to see this program has gotten this way. A lot of special needs children can't afford a monthly fee.
Glider to make small/large buttons
We use this app, got monthly subscription for my 8 yo autistic son, the down part of it is the glider option which is recently added, it is so frustrating, even not touched pictures get so large that 4 pictures occupy whole I pad screen, I have emailed twice but no response wish they had option to lock the glider.

Not enough symbols
Misleading Free Trial
I removed two star because you guys were misleading with your free trials. The app is great and user friendly but why mislead customers that they have more than one free trial when you would still go ahead and charge them the second time!!! Please look into this!
Really great app and support!
I’m an early intervention (birth-3) Speech-Language Pathologist. I decided to try this app with a family I was working with because the little boy has autism and was blowing me away with his ability to use low tech AAC options. Within a week of introducing him to Visuals2Go, he was using it to make requests! I was so impressed by how quickly he was able to start using it to effectively communicate! The support was also fantastic. We emailed questions and were responded to very quickly. The app developer himself set up a zoom call with us to assist us further and show us some other ways to use the app which we didn’t think of (ex: making choice boards, using first/then language, visual aids, etc.)
Junk
Took me 5seconds to hear the terrible computer generated voice that is not very clear and talks very fast, also when it says “look” it doesn’t annunciate the ‘k’ so it just says “loo”. This will not help a child learn to communicate properly
Sentences
I wish the words within the sentences would become large as they are being touched or said in order the represent their visual significance in a stronger way. Little kids can only se that larger representation as you are choice making in the categories. It’s beautiful the way each word becomes large and isolated. It stimulates the visual brain. Unfortunately the demand for that is not carried through on the actual collected idea in the sentence.
A good program but charges different devices
Allows me to talk to my son on my iPad but doesn’t acknowledge any subscription on your phone. I paid $60 dollars for the year. Hmmm...
ABA therapist: my client is scared of the human faces
I’m not surprised by this. The feelings cards depicting human likeness with uncanny features and stringy hair are quite visually repelling. May need a redesign
Amazingly responsive
I am so impressed with the customer service and dedication. I actually contacted the company, because my daughters favorite food item was not on the app. They added it, but you needed a subscription. I emailed them a second time, and asked if they could add it for individual (one time) purchase, since we are just trying the app out at this time. They actually honored that request as well. I am blown away by how much they care, to respond so quickly, and then honor 2 requests. Especially when they could have just told me I needed to subscribe, but they were sympathetic to the fact I’m trying different things out to see what works for my daughter. I really recommend trying this app.
I thought it was free but it was an instant charge for $265+...
I downloaded the FREE version and for some reason it tried charging me for the expert version. Lucky for me, I'm broke and I don't even have that amount of cash, but my bank account still has a pending from this 🙄 don't download.
Wish it had more choices
Ok, I do like this for my son, but I wish it had more choices, especially for the sentence starters. He is verbal, but is learning to name more emotions, and knows a lot more, and does more activities, than are listed here.
Maybe for young kids
Not useful for adults or people who want grammatically correct sentences.
Was good until ….
First of all, the pictures started disappearing when you open up the card so I had to reload a bunch of those which was very time consuming. Then all of a sudden it didn’t recognize our subscription no matter what I did. So I deleted the app and then reinstalled it, and all of my son’s cards were gone. So I guess what, I canceled. I spent so much time setting this up for my son and lost all of that time. As long as it’s working, it’s a good app though.

Deceptive App
So disappointed with this app. I paid the promotional deal at 50% off. I was charged 60.00 and had access to various downloads . I downloaded some activities and topics. It worked for a week and now I have no access to those downloads. I requested a refund no one has responded to this matter! It is rip off!!!!
Great customizable PECS
I use this app for PECS for my low-verbal son on the Autism Spectrum. I really enjoy the customization that you can create your own pictures with audio clips and written words. I use this app to print picture checklists, schedules, picture (with words!) labels for toy bins, you name it. I wish the app had more built in pictures, which is why did not give it a 5 star. It does require a bit of legwork at first; as you have to develop a 'library' of pictures that are meaningful to you and for those you use the system with. Again, I really love that you can take photos, use pictures stored on the device and save your own audio clips. After all, everyone on the spectrum is different.
Free version limited
The free version doesn't let you use enough to be able to tell if the person will be able to utilize it. For example I can't even see what the choice board is. Also double tapping is a hard skill for many people who need this kind of device.
Subscription didn’t work
The app is very easy to use. It’s helping my autistic son to understand routine and also how to communicate in English. His first language is Portuguese and we moved to Canada. I got the free trial to test and decide to go with the anual subscription as I noticed a huge progress with his English just in a few days. Unfortunately today he woke up to use the iPad and most of the cards are blocked and asking me to subscribe. I’ve tried many things to make work, but nothing helped. When I click “subscribe button” it confirms that my account has the one year package assigned to it. We are very upset with this bug, I sent an email to you guys but never got an answer. This is bringing lots of frustration to my son, because he goes there to make his sentences of the next step and is not available.

Awfully restricted for money
If this app is meant to help with speech, then the user should NOT be limited to two sentence words. Thankfully I’m only on the mild side of the spectrum (asd)
Good app
This app is great for working with my semi non-verbal class of students. The only thing it's missing for me is the ability to share the albums I've created with others, such as my education support team so they can work with my students as well. Hope to see this feature in an update.
No Search
This app has nice graphics, but not having a search to locate pecs renders this app fairly useless. Wish I would have saved my money.
Good app but crashes when I try to change the voice
It serves its purpose but the default voice doesn’t annunciate certain syllables like the letter R so I was hoping to change it. Keeps crashing when I open voice settings.
Visuals2Go Quick Review
I am a PT Student, and we had an assignment to look up an application for assistive technology. Visuals2go is what I chose! This application was extremely simple to use, and had step by step instructions in multiple places if something could not be figured out. The basics of the free app were still extremely helpful, useful, and relevant for every day activities. The sentences were easy to form, but also easy to edit. The communication device is easy enough for a child to learn, or an adult with a learning disability to use. This app could be very beneficial to clients that have trouble communicating l, and could open lots of doors to social interaction in many ways.
Disappointed
I bought this thinking I was going to be able to make my own PECs and print them out. The directions are not clear, and it does not seem to work at all after figuring out what to do.
We love it!
My 6-yr daughter and I were able make flash cards in Korean together and we're having a lot of fun. Keep up a good work!

Amazing App For parents and educators
This is an amazing app for all walks of life and especially for children with disabilities. This app has great visuals in all different sizes. Get it and worth it. Great for labeling.
Not worth the money!!!
This app is not worth the money. Very disappointed. Can't really edit your work. Not able to delete a picture once it's put in. Very frustrating
Great for visual learners, T21
I'm so glad to find this app! I am able to make text or picture cards, with simple font, my own photos, and record in my child's voice. I am able to save them in different folders, for example, IEP sight word list, Family, clothing, etc. It seems consistent with DownSEd principles, so it is fantastic for concrete visual learners such as children with T21. I haven't yet tried emailing or printing cards, so I can't yet speak to that. If I had to recommend an improvement, I like to see the "edit" function improved so that the word remains in the same order instead of being sent to the bottom of the list.
Not really what I wanted
The app would be much better if you could save choice boards. For example, I could go into food and drinks and save a choice board for a cafe, dinner, McDonalds, home, school etc so as not having to make it from scratch every time you are there
Not the best
This app is good, but by no means great. They have good visuals, but not enough topics. They also don’t have the ability to turn off scrolling, which often makes it difficult for individuals with low motor control to choose the correct picture. Also, the app keeps crashing after I have updated it.
Not worth the money
Not a good app because it lacks pictures! Pic cards only include colors and numbers. When I attempted to buy more pic cards the app freezes.
Great app
Terrific application, really enjoy all aspects of its versatility and flexibility, and I have only just started. Great for therapists and all paediatric workers
Good product getting better
The client service is very good and personable. I found at first that the range of vocabulary was limited but it’s getting more extensive and the quick replies to requests for custom pictures is impressive
Resource for asd and apraxia
This app is excellent for teaching young children language. We use it to teach young children that you have to “give to get.” Communication for our students has greatly improved. This app is great for PECS.
disappointing!
The concept is great and if it worked, I would give it 5 stars....but alas, it freezes and crashes EVERY time I try to email / print more than one card at a time and freezes / crashes every other time when I am just doing one. What a waste!

Good app to make a Start with picture communication/picture exchange. If you find it functional then you know it's worth paying for other apps. Very easy to use.
