My favorite AAC APP!
So easy to customize and so much fun to work with! Words can be added on the go in a minute, page sets easy to build completely from scratch if you like, the most flexible app, you can say I’m just in love with it! You can make your own symbols right in the button editor, combining symbols or even stuff from the web that it can find directly in the editor. I absolutely recommend it, my favorite is motor plan 66 page set from the in built ones, but it has a lot of other robust options. You can make anything possible with this app, especially if you have a student or a loved one who has variety of expressive and receptive language needs!
Too many technical Issues
I’ve been using this app for over a year for my nonverbal daughter. It has been helpful but I’ve decided to cancel because of technical issues. Almost every month, the speaking voice stops working even though my subscription is active. Since this is an AAC app, the speech output is the most important feature. Having it repeatedly fail is incredibly frustrating and disruptive. Each time it happens, I have to contact customer support to get it working again. While short has been able to fix it, I shouldn’t have to make a phone call every single month just to use a feature I’m paying for. For an app that families rely on for daily communication, I expected much reliability. I hope the developers address these recurring issues. Disappointed
The app it’s self is amazing but we already purchased the app a while ago before it became a subscription monthly and due to the fact that NDIS took over 6 months to reapprove a replacement communication device for my son we somehow cannot restore our prior purchase and must purchase this app again as the monthly subscription. I think this is quite unfair considering we had to pay in the first place.
No sound
Sometimes when I launch the app I cannot get any sound. I have to shut the entire iPad down which sometimes helps, sometimes does not. It’s very frustrating when I’m doing aac trials with my clients.

Dear AAC I bless this thing is good because it is boardmaker’s symbols Love by Prince. But there’s a problem when I put up the volume. The thing stays at %40. But you still tried your best! Hopefully you will make a update!
Voice disappears even with a subscription
This app had a future until the voice was gone, my kid is non-verbal, he seems to like it when he heard the voice, do I have to pay extra? I canceled the subscription, there is another app not making this mistake. I would come back if the developers fix this.
Subscribe not working
I swear I’ve had it, I’m having issues with my legacy purchase Get the subscription AGAIN even though I have paid for this for LIFE and surprise the speech won’t turn on apple is obvious no help. I swear if there was a different option for my son we would not use this app. SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really love this app!
I just got this app the other day because I experience verbal shutdowns. I love it so much, it’s a huge upgrade from the old app I was using. It’s so easy to customize and make so it fits my brain. You can even share page sets with friends and community members! My only complaint is that I can’t change the undo symbol. It is stuck as a default one. Someone in the AAC Image Library community drew a beautiful rainbow undo button that matches my back button. I also suggest that the developers reach out to the ACCIL and see if you could link your image database to their’s. They are also paired with Global Symbols
After 20 attempts, speaking button refuses to turn on
I’m tired of both Apple and TD Snap pointing fingers at each other telling me it’s the other parties problem for the speaking button to not turn on. I’ve subscribed downloaded deleted and resubscribed 10 times today and nothing works for the speaking button to turn on. Absolutely terrible developers for not making sure that the one Main feature we all care about for our kids (text to speech) fails to work now this app is now useless. Just deplorable development team.

Charging for a voice is ridiculous
This was part of the app before, now you want $10 per month for my child’s “voice”. That’s what his therapists call his TD app, “HIS VOICE”! Ridiculous.

Disgusting business model
The app is fine. But this company is absolutely vile for charging a subscription service when before it was a one time purchase. Can you imagine telling someone they have to pay a monthly fee to be able to speak? And if you forget then you are left voiceless? If you think it’s inhumane and cruel, you’d be right. This company needs to change the way they operate. Say what you want about services that cost $300. At least they understand a flat fee and transferable accounts.

Falha na Saída de Voz
Mesmo com a atual atualização, SEMPRE que abro o aplicativo o áudio não sai, e se, ele passa um intervalo de tempo sem uso, mesmo estando aberto, a saída de áudio para novamente. Um app pago com uma falha dessa magnitude, é inaceitável.
Awesome, BUT has some issues
I am autistic and have verbal shutdowns, so I use symbol AAC and sometimes basic text to speech. TD Snap is the only program that really works for me, due to the customizability and ease of editing/use. But the pricing… It used to be a one time 50$ purchase, and now it’s 10$ a month? That is so unfair to people who are completely nonverbal. You shouldn’t need a subscription for communication. I couldn’t afford the 50$ fee in the first place, and especially not a 10$ a month subscription. The workaround I’ve been using is copying from the message window and pasting it to the IOS Live Speech to talk, but that won’t work for many others, ex. small children or those with more severe mental disabilities, and it sucks so bad not being able to have an integrated experience even as someone with low support needs.
Best communication option
As an experienced SLP working in this field for many years, using many different apps and devices for AAC, TD Snap is by far the best. Better than the most popular one out there that is being used by the schools. Many options within the app. Less searching for icons with tax prediction, and maximum of three pages to find your word check it out. It’s seriously the best. And Tobii Dynovox customer service is great as well.
Pay for voice?
We paid for the app several years ago and now with the update we have to start paying $10 monthly? Feeling nickled and dimed to death… this is my daughter’s voice…. And all of a sudden you can just turn it off and demand money to turn it back on…. Shameful… special needs people are just a way to make money for some companies. These are people we are talking about Tobii

Whenever I try to talk / speak button it doesn't work and says I need a subscription I am a college student and don't have that much money so why fix it but it is good app apart from that

Hello Tobbi Dynovox. (Sorry if I typed the name wrong!) I’m looking for the best app for my sister who has verbal shutdowns. This has went on one of the best parts of the ranks for us. I’ll say the good things and the bad things. Bad: The voice requires you to pay in order to hear it. The pictures are kinda… Well… Creepy. Good: Its very easy to use. The colors are pretty bright and pleasing to the eye. It has a search bar, in case you do not know where the button you are looking for is. It only takes about two or three clicks or scrolls to find the button you are looking for. It has a keyboard which is very easy to use, and you are able to draw. Overall, it’s pretty good! I’d use it, but please make it so that you do not need to pay in order to use the voice.

Die App funktioniert ordentlich, auch die Synchronisierung über die Cloud, ist zwar sehr langsam, aber immerhin zuverlässig. Sehr umständlich ist die Handhabung von Sprachausnahmen, diese können nicht zwischen Windows und iPad synchronisiert werden und gehören unverständlicherweise nicht zum Seitenset. Was auch nur suboptimal ist, es können keine Symbole zur Bibliothek hinzugefügt werden, so dass eigene Bilder immer aus einer Datei stammen müssen und bei jeder Verwendung als komplette Kopie abgelegt werden. Ein weiterer Mangel ist, dass der Wortwandler nur mit den vorgegebenen Wörtern funktioniert. Wird ein neues Wort eingefügt, oder wurde eines vergessen, gibt es keine Möglichkeit die Wortformen einzupflegen. Eine Exportfunktion für Symbole fehlt ebenso, wie ein lesbares Exportformat für Seitensets

Um app de CAA que não tem voz
Paguei pelo app há tempos. Não era uma assinatura. Mudaram para assinatura, informando que, quem já possuísse o app permaneceria como estava. Agora, inventam que, para poder baixar a voz (que já tínhamos) temos que pagar uma assinatura. No meio da manhã, em plena aula, meu filho ficou “sem voz” . Isso é cruel!

I hear really good stuff about this app and download it but then when I type something in it says that i have to pay and I thought it was supposed to be free but now I have to PAY to USE speech!? What about all of the people who can’t afford it or really need speech text?
Latest version stole my voice
While I like some of the new options in the latest version. I did have to uninstall and reinstall the app to get access to the voices I had already paid for, so that was kind of a pain.
Extremely poor value as a subscription
Back when Snap was a one-time purchase, it filled a unique niche in the market: a full-featured, somewhat robust, symbol-based AAC app at a relatively approachable price -- $50, relative to the $250-$400 that other apps cost. It was actually my own first iPad-based AAC app, and one I frequently recommended -- with reservations about the lack of robustness -- because it was financially accessible. The main downside to Snap is that even the newer Motor Plan vocabulary is sorely lacking in abstract concepts and shades of meaning. As a literate, semi-speaking AAC user, this is irritating and dysregulating; to younger AAC users, it could be a serious impediment to language and literacy development. Today, I use the new Proloquo, which has a vocabulary that simply beats the pants off every other symbol-based app, and is comfortably usable out of the box -- with some compromises in word choice -- by a literate user for a wide range of conversations. It is a subscription -- $10/month or $100/year -- but well worth the money to me. Having tried both apps, I find it downright *laughable* that Snap would think their app is worth the same monthly cost as Proloquo. It is also rather cruel that they gave zero notice of this change, sending potential new users back to square one if they had budgeted, fundraised, or arranged with school or insurance to cover the original price. There are other options here: If $50/user truly wasn't paying the bills, they could've doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled the price and remained an affordable choice. If a subscription was truly necessary for sustainable development, they could've charged $5/month and still earned the old price in subscription fees in less than a year. Please, TD, show your users some compassion. If your devices are truly as good as you say, you don't need to jack up the app cost for iPad users.

Voice disappears with every update
We purchased the ipad app when it was a one time purchase. Now with every update speech is disabled and a subscription is pushed. We also own a full TD SNAP device from this company that our county health department paid for. This is the 8k plus device. That is also supposed to come with two ipad activations. Those also do not work. Today they released an update on all devices. My non-verbal daughter had all her devices disabled at once when they all forced an update. Even her 8k dollar device (with is just a low powered windows 11 tablet with a heave duty case and speakers) stopped working. This company has an absolutely terrible business model. If we could start over we would. We tell other parents in our support group who are looking at devices to NOT do business with Tobi Dynovox. They are not a family friendly company. We essentially bought a small car in dollar amounts from them. One that stops you from driving your car at every refill of the gas tank. How quick would this wind up in legal land if auto manufacturers treated their customers the same way? They make Microsoft look like saints.
I have suggestions for improvement
It is cumbersome to model correct grammar due to the fact that a separate grammar button had to be pressed. Please follow Assistiveware and make it possible to long press a button to activate the grammar function. When this update is made this will be the best AAC app out there!

Do not buy
Today we accidentally deleted the app and on reinstall we discovered we now have to have a subscription for our non verbal son to talk thank dynavox. Probably won’t refund our money our money we paid when it was a OTP

Money hungry, please do research & find another AAC app
Like everything else in the USA this inflation is ridiculous, and these developers are on board with taking every cent from families who need the help. My son is nonverbal and he uses this app but it constantly signs him out requiring me to troubleshoot. On top of that they FORCED USERS INTO A SUBSCRIPTION, why not sell the app like before? All these reviews & comments all saying the same. Shame on you.
Crashes constantly
Lots of potential with this program but it is incredibly unreliable in loading up and crashes constantly.
