Restore from previous version?
I had an older paid version of Voice Recorder HD which no longer downloads to my phone. I have lost all the recordings I made with that app! Hoping this app owner will help me revive those files. It’s a great app for high quality recording, I’m just disappointed I was not alerted to the previous version’s demise.
Doesn’t use Bluetooth microphone
I can’t get app to use a Bluetooth microphone. There is no ‘help’ or ‘contact’ button.
Extra features are a plus!
I like being able to jump back five seconds or a minute jump ahead 20 seconds when listening to a file for transcription. Minus one star because often times there's a bug when replaying and it stops showing time or location within the audio file. There needs to be a way to backup multiple files at once, one at a time is tedious.
How can I get output to earbuds?

Even when my phone is in my pocket I still get great recordings from this app. Easy controls. Consistent performance easily manageable files later.

If you pay for a recording app, you should at least get fast forward and rewind included. This is worthless.

I liked the app that came with my old iPhone 4. This one is more cumbersome, and DOES NOT WORK WITH BLUETOOTH.
Getting a little old in the tooth
I really love this app and I upgraded to all the enhanced features, but the interface is buggy. It’s way too small for doing any editing and the app often crashes after I’ve made changes or done an edit to my audio file. It appears there are far more robust audio editing apps that are now available in the App Store since this came out. The developer doesn’t seem to be doing much with it lately, to improve it, or to help the interface for audio editing features be more user-friendly.
Recorder needs a new title!
Recorder is the most amazing app for recording audio! Every time I look at the features and options, it has got more depth, usability, flexibility than any other audio recording app. I have used on the iPhone 14. The only one that has a feature that Recorder doesn’t, isthe Apple offering, forget what it’s called The Apple offering will transcribe the text of all people in a meeting, in real time, as well as recording the voices. That might be a showstopper for me, as it is such a valuable feature, which Recorder doesn’t offer Other than that, it is brilliant!
Recordings just disappear
The past two recordings I’ve attempted just disappear. The app looks like it’s recording and when I’m done and hit stop, nothing appears in the Voice Memos list. It used to work just fine and now all of a sudden it doesn’t work at all. Time to find an alternative because this app is trash now.

Frustation
I have used this app for years without problems. All of a sudden it is asking for my Touch ID and immediately kicks me out even though my Touch ID works with every other app. I took notes recently for a meeting and I can’t access them because I keep getting booted out. What the heck? Not good!!! I am so frustrated!
Files disappeared within app—please help!
All my files have disappeared from within the app—please help! I once adored this app! I can find no help, but if someone will get in touch and help me get the files back into the app, I will read it five stars. Please can someone help? I had been using it for songwriting and during vocal harmony rehearsals, for many years (not to mention capturing precious, hilarious moments with my then-young child). The ability to slow down a recorded piece to half-time, yet maintain pitch, is incredibly handy when trying to determine subtle nuance. This feature has been immensely helpful in deciphering pronunciation and character in language translation of songs, for example. The image of the vintage-style pro mic is beautiful and professionally satisfying to behold. Please consider refining the iCloud sync? It would be so efficient to move between devices, launch the app, and access your recordings right there—exactly where you left off. The only syncing method I can determine is a series of steps: click the right arrow on each individual recording, then click “Share,” select “Save to Files,” then choose iCloud Drive. Unfortunately, after launching the app on another device, the iCloud-synced recordings do not appear within the app. They’ve disappeared! I had to launch the Files app to see the recordings on iCloud Drive, and click on each one to download them. But after quitting and re-launching Voice Recorder HD, the downloaded recordings do not appear. I am not really sure what to do, or how to get them to appear in the Voice Recorder HD app on other devices, but I would really love to be able to move between my devices and see the same recordings synced between them. Thank God the files are safe. but I want to launch them sometimes from within the app, in order to listen. Why have they disappeared? Can you please help me get them back in the app? I can see no logical way for how to make this happen, no “import.” If this app could be set up to sync seamlessly and automatically with iCloud, just once and done, and especially if my files would also not disappear from within the app, I’d give it 5 stars.
The BEST Recorder
I’m so glad that I have this app. I record my church sermons and I have the opportunity to listen to them later. I absolutely love this.

Very clear, with quality options.
Load it up with the in app purchases for a premium quality recorder with really good options. Currently not working under iOS 13. Biometric lock fail. Developers website pointing to a blank Wordpress site. Hope someone is working on this. Update for anyone having touch unlock issues. Use 3D Touch on icon to bring up the app and then go into settings to turn off touch unlock. App seems to work ok afterwards. Hope the developer is ok.
Stops working
The app is fine when it works, but when I start to use it I usually have to delete it and reinstall, then it works a few times.
Used to be Great
I made the mistake of updating the app, and all the normal functions of the app became in-app purchases. I had already paid for the app and now I had to pay more for the same functionality, ridiculous. Also, the app never really worked the same after that. It used to deliver top-quality audio, with pro controls and recording options; I even used it to record audio for a pro video shoot with a lav mic; it was a great option if you run out of lavs. Unfortunately, I can no longer use it professionally. I switched to TwistedWave, and even the apple voice memos app is pretty good now. I wish this app was what it used to be.

App Stopped Working
I have been using this app for apps and a few days ago it just stopped working and will not open on my iPhone XS. I had everything backed up but still just can’t open the app. This has been very discouraging because no other apps have the same recording quality. Can anyone help me out with this issue?
Used to be good, until you got greedy
I still like this app, and use it regularly to record telephone calls but then you started charging for stuff which I will not contribute to, because I have been a supporter from your beginnings, and think you are now jumping on the bandwagon of in app purchases. I will stick with the basic app.
Trimming
Trimming doesn’t work and support and help doesn’t work either. So I purchased the trimming option and can’t use it. The recorder itself works great.
Can’t get help
I have “lost” an important recording and can not find where it is stored. No one will reply to my emails or cry’s for help. I usually use my phone to record, but this time I had to use my iPad and it’s totally different. So I can’t find the recording. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
Not working on my ipad
Have no idea why, but it isn’t working on my ipad. I purchased the audio boost and can only really, really faintly hear my recording. Sound is turned up all the way. Help!
Works great, sounds great
Great HD recording app, especially at this price. Simple to use and sound quality is excellent. One thing missing for me is the ability to rotate the UI 180 degrees, so that the interface is the correct way up when holding the phone with the microphone outwards (a la the native voice memos app). With that feature, this would be a 5-star app.
Oh dear!
Had high expectations for this app. Nice simple interface. Promise of quality recording. BUT... Those precious recordings all disappeared all on their own. One minute they're there, the next they're gone. All that lovely work down the app drain. I can't have my recordings back, so can I have my time and money back?
Simple, straightforward, uncomplicated recorder
I would have rated this app more highly, but even though it does what it is supposed to do the makers of this app have not updated it in about three years! It also has everything set up with in app purchases.
Easy and Great Voice Recorder
I’ve been using this app since I first bought an iPhone! And that was iPhone 5! I’ve used it to record voice notes, and I’ve used it to record vocal rehearsals, and I once recorded a demo (song) with this app. It suits my needs and it’s pretty fantastic. I pay for all the extras and they are well worth the price. I highly recommend it!

Good app in a crowded market
***Please bring back the old app icon!*** There are a staggering number of audio recorders on the App Store (and I've tried a lot of them). I'm glad I managed to find this one. The interface is nice and clean. The recording quality options suit me - I am only interested in full CD quality (16 bit, 44.1kHz, uncompressed .wav). There are two lower quality settings but some people may wish there was an option for other file types e.g. AAC. Another reviewer complained that you can't play files without an in-app purchase, which isn't true. The add on gives more control but simple play/pause and scrubbing is available as standard. Sharing to Dropbox is easy and there is also email sharing and 'open in…' functionality, which is sufficient for my needs. A few improvements could be made IMO: - The recording level meter should be active before recording begins (could be greyed out to help aid identification of recording status). - Options for file types other than .wav. Minor complaint: - Better description of the quality settings is required (they are just labelled low/medium/high, leaving you to work out what that means). Overall, an attractive, straightforward app with enough of the features I want to be the best of its type. With a push could be 5 star.

Operating instructions!!
Very useful app however it needs to come with some operating instructions. I’ve lost many recordings because I did not stop or exit the recording properly.. Actually - I am guessing that’s where I went wrong. I need operating instructions to determine what I did wrong. Otherwise- great app when I don’t inadvertently erase meetings.

Essential Tool for Language Teaching
I really like the sound quality of this app and find it easy to export my files. I can email short soundbites and open my larger files in WAV format in other apps as well as share my files to Dropbox to download at a later date. The on-screen counter and red glow when recording are useful when timing speaking exams. Occasionally it becomes unstable and crashes but I have not yet lost any of my students' work.
Needs work
I use this app a lot, because I like it and it does a good job at recording. I even bought a few addons. But there is a bug which is really problematic!! Often some recordings get "lost" apparently because the app fails to save them correctly so they are not shown in the list, even though they are stored in the disk. This happens often if I quit the app by mistake while recording, or when using the "trim" function. The only way I have to access the incorrectly-stored files is by using a Mac app like "Diskaid". I rated 2 stars because this is a CRITICAL problem. Please fix this bug and I'll give it 5 stars. As a programmer I would suggest, on startup, check got files which haven't been "closed", close them and refresh the list. 3 other suggestions: A - Please add "save all in Dropbox" option. It's a pain to have to go through ALL files after many recordings. Either this or a "Auto-sync all recordings to Dropbox" option B - Please add " already saved in Dropbox" flag to recordings which have already been backed up in Dropbox. Sometimes in the process of backing up recordings I backup recordings twice by mistake. Just a flag will do. C - If "Edit" mode only deletes, better call it "Delete" D - In "Edit" mode, the "Cancel" button only makes sense if we either just opened it, or have a pending action. After deleting files, it should change to "Done". Then show "Cancel" again if we selected files again but haven't yet deleted them. Thanks!

Was a good product that I enjoyed but as a few days ago I can not open the app at all. Was my preferred voice recording app without a doubt. Is anyone looking into this?

I really like Voice Recorder. I usually use it to record my flute teacher playing a song I am learning to play. I also use it to hear how I sound when I play. I appreciate having this available.

IOS13.1.2 issue Bluetooth
Recently I update my iOS to 13.1.2 and found that the Bluetooth option of recorder is not working. The software is not able to transfer voice to paired bluetooth devices. I am able to hear voices in paired devices from YouTube etc. . The seems to be a bug or compatabkebissue and you need to quickly come out with upgraded version. Thanks.

Paid for features are supposed to transfer between devices
Generally I like this app and find it useful but... *Files could transfer to cloud services more smoothly with less steps if you could choose an automatic transfer of files, which would save so much time. However... * My big bugbear is the fact that paid for features are supposed to transfer between devices using the same Apple ID but don’t seem to. (This issue may be linked fact that files do not sync between devices, but I don’t find that a problem per se.) I bought this app back in the days of iPad 2. I then tried to transfer ‘Trimming’ to iPad Air and it didn’t appear as ‘purchased’ in the newer iPad. I now have another newer iPad with which I also can’t get the ‘Trimming’ feature to come up as ‘purchased’. I’ve tried leaving messages on the support page without a response so I have taken to writing a review! I wonder if there is anyone out there with a solution, please?
