Exercise
So good to gather information what your steps or kms are
Doesn't work on watch without phone
Well that's disappointing. 2 mins into first run and nothing on Runmeter. Then I realise you have to take your phone. App fail. Future enhancement pls ! Oh well, back to Runkeeper or Nike run I guess, but Runmeters watch screens are so much nicer !
One of the best.
I'm using this app more than a year, is one of the best. Congratulation. Please make app stand alone for Apple Watch.
No standalone AppleWatch use
You have to have your iPhone with you which is pretty annoying. Standalone with Apple Watch 4 would be better
Been using for over 15 yrs
Have tried a few apps over the years but always come back to Runmeter. Fully customisable can upload to Strava, it will announce your run through your eat buds as you go. I purchased a blue tooth chest strap for heart rate and although not as comfortable it is deadly accurate. I have tried expensive fitness watches but heart rate is frustratingly all over the place. Pay extra for the elite features in the Runmeter App and get a chest HR strap and it’s the best combo and best app around. I also bought a cheap Suunto 5 so I can monitor my heart beat with out pulling my phone out of my pocket.
Gone
I have used Runmeter for a few years now and its been ok to good. Last upgrade with no warning I am getting alerts to enable background refresh which I am not going to do. I wrote to abvio and got the replay below. Basically tough luck enable backgroiund refresh or set location services to always. No privacy and updates and continous running/monitoring. I'm off to get an app which does not force me to comprise my phone and my privacy. Kevin Bergin ----------------- Hi Kevin, Thanks for writing in about your background refresh issue. I'm happy to help. Hereâ•˙s a little background on this issue. The background app refresh warning comes up only when the Location Services permission for our app is set to ╲While Using╡ rather than ╲Always╡. We made this change in a recent version because our app was being shut down by iOS in the middle of workouts. Our research into this issue discovered that iOS now advises all Location Services apps to require Background App Refresh. (And a survey of our competitors indicates that they all require Background App Refresh permission.) Weâ•˙re privacy advocates, too, so weâ•˙d prefer not to require these permissions. And if you do give us either Location Services ╲Always╡ permission, or ╲While Using╡ permission with ╲Background App Refresh╡ permission as well, I promise you that we are not going to do anything that you wouldnâ•˙t want us to do. Weâ•˙re just trying to get our job done, within the constraints that iOS has placed on us. And so I'll advise that you'll need to do one of the following: -- Launch iOS Settings, go to Privacy > Location Services > Runmeter, and change our permissions from ╲While Using╡ to ╲Always╡. or -- If you continue using "While Using", you'll need to go to the iOS Settings app, go to General > Background App Refresh and make sure that the global setting is enabled at the top of the page. And, then in the list of apps at the bottom of the page, you'll also need to have Runmeter enabled as well. From there, you'll be able to decide if there are other apps in the list that you don't want to trust with Background App Refresh and disable them. And, just in case you have reservations, when you set Location Services to "Always", we do not track you all of the time. Location Services for our app is only active when you are recording a workout. You can confidently leave the option set to "Always" without concern. Within seconds after completing a workout, our tracking is discontinued. You will always see the Location Services arrow on the top right of your iPhone turn itself off after your complete your activity. And, if you want to know even more about how it works... if you go to your iOS Settings > Privacy > Location Services and look at the Runmeter entry, you will see a purple arrow icon shown next to Runmeter when the app is in use. If you are not currently using Runmeter, there will either be no arrow or it may display a gray arrow icon next to the app. The gray arrow will be shown if you have used the app in the past 24 hours, but if it is gray it means that it is not currently in use. I hope this information helps to allow you to confidently adjust your settings as needed. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Best regards, Fran Taylor Abvio
Walker
Good for walking in preparation for City2Surf. We keep walking to stay in walking "condition"
It doesn't seem to do GYM sessions
Not good
Love it
Love the App and have been using it for years so much history. Would really appreciate an integration with my new Garmin setup
Poor reception due to update
Was working well. Since I updated the app recently it's had shocking reception. Yesterday all it did was time my run. Really disappointing
Good enough
The app is good, although needs more improvement with the interface, a bit cluttered and confusing. It does not also sync with the heart app of apple, please add this sync. Thanks
GPS issues
I purchased the Elite version. This app would be a 5star app if GPS worked correctly. I have run same route numerous times. Distance varies by up to 2 Kms over a route of 3.5kms. According to this app I have taken up to 6 mins off my average pace. Be good if it was true I would now be averaging 53 s a km over a 5 km run!
Perfect
Can do everything I want it to do, and even more that I don’t yet.
Gr8 app
I use it every day for monitoring my diabetes exercises & walks
Good app . Price way to high
Good app for the purchase price but disgusting how they try to charge an annual fee for some basic options.
excellent
love this app, it is great, i wanted an app app to track my km and i wanted an app that was free. You have made my dreams come true
Used to be good but now totally inaccurate
I used this app for a few years but now (presumably after the latest update) it's very inaccurate. Shame, bye Runmeter.
The absolute best.
Been doing the 12-wk half marathon training. Last wk ran 25 km much easier than before... excellent. Although the GPS gives weird readings every so often, so I'm not fully confident of my pace and distance. One time it had me running across a river! Otherwise it beats the rest hands down. Nike+ included.
Impressive response by developers
Brilliant direct response by developers relating to an issue I was experiencing with the app. 10/10 for customer service.
Great
Love it- can't run without it
Runmete
I have been using Runmeter since 2011. I absolutely love it. I hate running without it. It's easy to use, and all the data is saved and is easily accessible. I have all my runs saved since 2011...... just close cakes over 500 runs. It's also good to monitor the k's in new shoes. If you use Strava, you can link to Strava and at the completion of every run, it sends to your Strava feed. Awesome App. Can't live without it!
Great app especially with Apple Watch
