No BoxSign inbox
The app has no feature allowing for documents pending your signature to be collected in one place instead of digging through emails for all of the signature requests, online you can go to a specific inbox for items pending my signature but the app is useless in this regard
Can’t open entire folders in other apps
I’ve had box for years and it has served me well but it’s not allowing a folder to be transferred to other apps, I hope they bring this option into play then I’ll be happy
Has some work to do
Didn’t send me a confirmation email when docs where sent for signature, did it give me the option to cancel/void those signature requests so just ended up deleting the the docs which I’m not sure has done anything.
“New Look” horrible
The New Look makes it harder to see the full file or folder name. Larger font and icons plus dead space on right leaves no room for the full name. I don’t care if it matches iOS 26, keep the app useful for the user. I’ve used the iPhone Box app from when it was first offered. I love Box, but the app is getting more user unfriendly each update chasing glamor instead of usability. (iPhone 16 Pro) If you need to update, finally add a way to clear the “Recents”. I known what I’ve looked at….

Missing single-sign-on
Company calls itself an enterprise leader and serious competitor to Dropbox or Docusign, but is missing a single-sign-on option in the mobile app. Mobile app is completely useless because there is no workaround for the lack of SSO. Please fix this, nail this basic functionality before focusing on bells and whistles.
An old pal
I’ve had this app for a very long time. It still has my files, photos and voice memos. So far, so good.
Sloppy
This USED to be a good app but they have really let it go. After you delete files, to add more there is a “+” button that doesn’t show until you press “cancel” which of course always makes you wonder if they are undoing what you just did. And even that setup changes weekly. It’s a mess.
If only the iOS app was not ridiculously slow…

Amazing for use with OpenClaw
Great working with openclaw as file system allows you to share documents via openclaw with 3rd parties in controlled manner.
App Store banner blocking the screen
Why is there an App Store banner being shown at the bottom of the app, blocking the screen?
Box for music files
It would be great to allow the same playback speed settings when using the app that are available when accessing the same files via a web browser.
This used to be a great app
I don’t know what the thought process was on this latest update but undo it. Using on the phone is now harder to move multiple files at once. I hate it all.
Google authentication doesn’t work on mobile app
I can’t sign in on the app because it only allows you to type your email / password and doesn’t offer Google sign in and when I try that it says it’s incorrect.
So Simple
I can never understand why people who design these apps make them so complicated and over engineering them. This is very simple and does exactly what you needed to do.
AI made a terrible app worse
This app is truly terrible. And they threw AI on it to try to salvage it. 1) too many results that are irrelevant to the prompt 2) filters that don’t work 3) AI both with zero utility riddled with errors and redundancy
Transparency
Love the app I have been using it for a year and it’s the best cloud storage app I have ever used plus it has tons of other features that make life easy for me… my only complaint is that box is not more transparent about the updates… each time box updates it essentially the says the same thing… bug fixes. There are some things that I have come to work around but it would amazing see that they had addressed some of the things that haven’t been working for me or my team so I can communicate it as opposed to asking clients if it’s fixed or not. But sometimes we look up and the things are magically working. For example when I send clients links to videos they have not been able to download the videos… they have to screen record. I just would like to know what you fixed.. great app… I think by communicating that you are addressing specific issues the app becomes even better. Literally my only issue!!!
Can’t turn off Artificial Incompetence slop.
Feb 2026 update - Still no way to turn off the Artificial Incompetence rubbish. Box was a five star service until they jumped on the slop bandwagon. I don’t want AI, I don’t use AI and I definitely don’t want AI anywhere near my data. Let us turn this dross off. Original - Box has jumped on the AI bandwagon but I can’t find an “off” switch in the app. Still good storage option but minus one star for the AI.

Version 7.2 worst layout ever
The folder symbols take up a ton of space. At least offer a small folder view without all that info to the right like date, size, uploaded by etc.

No useful access to files
Without integration with Files, and the ability to edit files on Box, this app is basically useless.
Not good
Installed it on two iMacs and two iPhones. Process went well and uploaded files without problem. All went well until the iMacs were rebooted and Box didn’t launch. Logged in and all was ok until the next time I booted an iMac and Box hadn’t started again. Other little issues caused me to have concerns. I need something reliable and Box isn’t it!
Great App
Box is the best for storing and retrieving files on the fly ✊🏾😎 I’m a freelance musician… I play in about 12 bands plus I get a lot of referrals… this app keeps me well organized when mp3s and pdfs starts piling up 😅

Search functionality.
There should be a search bar when moving assets to better be able to move files without needing to go back and manually find folders
Outdated Technology
The app doesn’t support password managers logging you in so getting into the app at all is a frustrating experience. many times when it texts you a two factor code the code won’t work then it won’t send you another one. there is no way to send in a trouble ticket on the website. No way to contact anyone for help. Just endless pages to read that don’t answer your question. as a paying customer, I’m done with it.

Offline Sync via BoxSync poor
BoxSync is so resource intensive relative to competitors. Integration and collaboration features with office 365 apps, eg. Simultaneous edit of doc via multiple people within app is not possible. You have to use office 365 online version of apps which is limited in features. You’ve become dinosaurs…

Ok storage platform
The real let down for me is the lack of a direct link (I.e. non html short link) to the online file. This makes it impossible to utilise the file from several other platforms. Onedrive as an example provides the direct link as default.
Ok data storage lacking simple capabilities
Box is frustrating in that having several excellent features such as emailing files to folders, it comes up short by not working with iPad OS markup. Plus its interface with “save to files” is sporadic at best

Developers are asleep. It now only displays the first page of a document on iPad. They just don’t respond. This is a TERRIBLE fault. I have hundreds of documents I now cant read. Time to migrate to MEGA.?
Something has gone wrong
We use this app daily in our business. Suddenly it is clunky and not really working. Trying to create a folder takes and age and says that the file already exists when it doesn’t and generally takes at least a minute of waiting to do anything. I’m sure the developers know and I’m looking forward to the next update.
Good if you have an account
If you have an account you are all set to go. If you want to share a file with people who don’t have a Box account, they are forced to create an account before they can get the file. Dropbox does the same which is why I stopped using it. I will stick with my Amazon Drive.
GENUINE REVIEW
i’ve been using storage services for almost the longest time and it’s interesting that as an Apple user and also as a person who never has a lot of money that’s today as I’m shifting through iCloud files and trying to find a better way just to do what I do in general I intuitively just get the vibe to come back and download box again and I looked at the updates and it’s totally different than when I first used it. I was originally gonna go and download Terra box and then I saw this and they basically applies to compensate for all the apps that I have right now so this is definitely getting five stars from me this is probably going to be the most productive app that we use now.

Basically useless
On iPhone 13 pro ios15 I am unable to upload actually files from other services. From OneDrive, I can go through the whole share dialogue and choose a destination folder in Box but it won’t let me actually share it. Then if I try to upload within Box I can only choose photos, scan documents, voice notes et .. can’t just upload a file. Well then what is the point of it? It’s not a photo sharing app, it’s a business focused cloud file storage platform.
No dark mode
The app does not support dark mode. If it did, I’d give it more stars.
