What people like
- Very accurate wind speed forecasts
- Better than the default phone app
- Easy to use interface design
- Good for severe weather alerts
What they complain about
- Loud auto-playing ads you cannot mute
- Radar and storm tracking features broken
- App drains your battery very fast
- Frequent login bugs and connection errors
Suddenly horrible
Used to be the best weather app. Now suddenly in August 2026, super loud audio plays automatically. I can’t find anywhere to mute it. It’s so loud and obnoxious! Sadly I am uninstalling and finding a new one now.
No longer reliable, or ad free
No longer reliable, or ad free
Just Deleted Weatherbug
Weather bug started loud obnoxious advertising so I deleted it after many years of using it faithfully. Couldn’t turn off the automatic ad
Losing its Mojo
This app used to be great, then the ads started surfacing. I understand it helps pay the bills, but who wants an audio ad blasting first thing in the morning? Are you trying to wake up the whole neighborhood? Do better, it’s not rocket science!
Map box
Not happy with new map liked the one before better!!! Getting use to smaller size enlarged not much better!!! Not much info about surrounding towns in areas I’m interested in!!! Just to professional need more roads and surroundings showing!!!
Accuracy Counts
I find that time and time again the forecast is much more accurate using this app.
Audio ads!?
Audio ads.
Changing Forcast
The Forecast can change on the day . Also does 30% prediction for rain ,tell you it will rain or not ?
Background AD Sounds
This app used to be so great to use! Until EVERY TIME you go to open the app, an AD in the background goes off and I cannot find where it’s at to mute it. I will not be using this app again until this is fixed.
Ads play out loud when using the app
Seems the only way to get through to developers is to complain here, possibly. An ad begins playing audibly as soon as the app is open. If I can’t discreetly use the app to see the weather, then I’ll just have to use a different app. Please keep these videos from auto-playing.
Best weather app
I’ve been using WeatherBug for years because it is the best.
Intolerable Ads
This App keeps getting worst and worst. After many years of enjoying it I finally deleted it. Their most valuable feature - the “chirp” notification for lighting no longer works. And just today, August 31, 2026 they released some new ads that play loud messages and music that you cannot control nor stop. The only way to get it to stop is shutting down the App. Sorry, no longer for me. There are plenty of other free apps that work better and are less intrusive.
Great app
If it gave alerts for Canada it would almost perfect. Also satellite cloud cover and precipitation and thunderstorms with showers don’t always match up.
New app update
Not sure what happened but bring up the app and also any selections you make , you get an ad audio that runs over and over with no way to pause or quit it. You can’t even turn the volume down. I really like your app but this is a no go for me. I’ll check back in a month but if it still exists then it will be deleted.
Noisy! Noisy!
I’ve been using WeatherBug for years: reliable and generally accurate. But a few days ago, I opened the app and loud music—as in very, very loud—music emerged. No visible way to turn it off and it has kept happening when I open the app. I have other choices that I will use until WeatherBug comes to its senses and doesn’t insult its users in this way.
International Weather
I love to have weather from all over the world.
Wow
Used to be the most sensible app to use, offered everything. Now it has pop up video ads, basically forcing you to subscribe for premium. Never uninstalled an app so fast before, good riddance
love
can b off by a few. usually predicts abit higher than the temp ends up. rain forecast is closer. it's the go-to weather app for me
Audio
In the last two days a recording plays that I can’t find its source in order to close it. So I deleted Weather Bug and reloaded it but the recording still plays. I’m done with Weather Bug
Lightning map ruined
I loved this app but the ‘update’ to the spark lighting map is just awful. It looks like something from CBeebies and the lightning strikes aren’t even live anymore. It was the best thing about it. And as for the new bar at the bottom where you seem to be able to watch a replay of strikes that have already happened, what is the point in that?
It’s usually closer than the others… in my opinion
I’m a boater and use a variety of weather apps. When on land Weather Bug is my go to.
Saved Locations not working, advertising now horrible invasion
Can’t delete a SAVEd location once you enter it. It say “cannot delete. You must have At least one location. “ even though I have 6. This used to allow me to delete whatever location I wanted to. Now the app plays some background ad that cannot figure out how to stop the volume. Deleting the app this sucks. I tried reinstall and same ad plays constantly and over and over.
My favorite weather app.
My favorite weather app but I’m losing patience with it because about 50% of the time it doesn’t load only showing a blank blue screen when you attempt to open it.
To many ads with audio
Audio is annoying
Wrong on the weather
This year they have been quite wrong on the weather
Ease of use
It’s not cluttered easy to work with
NOPE
WTH??? Why is this playing loud music all the time? I want to see the weather not be annoyed by loud bad music that I can’t shut off. I’m out!!
Units of measurement
It would very favourable if WeatherBug used the correct units of measure for all information it presents on its app. E.g., wind speed in the metric system is km/h NOT kph aa presented. Each no letter in metric system has different meanings. ‘k’ means kilo, ‘m’ means metre and ‘h’ means hour hence kilometre per hour. ‘P’ means pico hence ‘kph’ translates to ‘kilopicohour’ which is NOT a unit of measure. Well established, and respected organizations when using the metric system correctly can only improve the understanding of the metric system. I respectfully request you revise all units of measurement to be correct with the acceptable letters with due consideration of lower case and upper case as well.
Update lost stars
I loved this app until the latest update messed with the lightning map. I live off grid and we rely on this app especially the lightning map. Now it takes forever to load which is dangerous for us. I tried the beta and it was worse.
The best weather app I have found BUT
A cast member at walt disney World recommend this app to us. Apparently disney use it for monitoring ‘inclement weather’. We were able to use the app to predict when rides would open again based on the location of lightning strikes! Just brilliant! On returning to uk we continued to use it. The radar is so accurate. We use it to predict when to take dog for walk. A 30 minute gap in the rain shows up nicely on the radar and out we go with the dog. I just don’t get why other apps and websites are not a accurate. Don’t they all use the same data? BUT…Sept 2023 update…Radar and storm tracking now not working in UK. Have tried reinstalling app but no joy. Shame. 😕
Probablement
Vraiment assez juste pour les prévisions météo
Annoying background audio adds
Constant audio adds playing at random with no way to mute. Also, often stuck on wrong time and not able to correct to current time. Overall this app was good at one time in the past few years, but has gotten out of control. Look for a better weather app!
Wind is always from the north
I like the app except for the fact that on my phone the wind direction is always north. The flags I see on the road say otherwise. My iPad which is usually tethered to my phone shows correctly in this app. I’ve sent messages to WeatherBug but I don’t get any response.
No fire section
Seriously the one time you want to find out about fire location in UK and app has taken fire section down.
Past Radar
For some reason past radar has disappeared the most useful feature. No good without it
Best
Best weather app bar none
New annoying audio ads
I have used Weather Bug for many years and found it accurate and easy to use. But now an audio ad plays every time I open the app or change pages. That makes the app unusable in public , so goodbye
Great app
It’s easy to use and more accurate than other apps but not always 100% correct. It is much better than the Apple weather app.
Temperatures wrong
My iPhone version of Weatherbug is reporting incorrect temperatures in France. On my iPad and my husbands Android the temps are correct. In southern France right now it is 16 C. But my iPhone says it is 28 C!!! I checked settings and updated the app and it’s still wrong. Temperatures reported in Montreal are correct so it has something to do with geography.
Frustrated
It won’t let me change from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I’ve tried everything not happy.
Been using it for many years!
Best most accurate forecast I can get! As a sailor it’s important to know before I go! And get updates out there!
Auto advertising
Will delete this app I have used for many years. As soon as you open audio advertising starts loud add. Very annoying.
Lightning warning
We use WeatherBug at our Project to alert us of severe weather.
Good app
Pretty good app but radar map doesn’t work at all. Fix it!!!!
Lovely little weather app
Lovely little app. Nice graphics. Plenty of information and accurate.
Accurate
I use it mostly for wind forecasts. It is consistently the best app for winds
Blasting ads at full volume
Used to be good. Has good features, but in the last few weeks it has started blasting ads at full volume. Deleted from my phone as I won’t have that. I understand ads, but no control over the audio is unacceptable.
Reliable
Monitor many weather apps as work is outdoors. Weather bug is the most accurate I have come to realize.
Killing My Battery
Not sure what happened, but my battery has been draining very quickly the past few weeks. When I checked my battery usage by app, WeatherBug is showing usage far above any other app. I’ve turned off location services for the app, and battery life seems to be back to normal. Not sure what the most recent update accomplished, but it drains the battery quickly.
Lots of information and accurate
One of the best apps for weather. A real annoyance is it constantly logging you out and not letting you know it has. Appears to be a bug that’s gone on for a long time Please fix this logging out issue!!
