- Recent updates make it worse
The Weather Channel
I have three weather Apps and this one is by the far the best one and the most accurate and updated one. 5 star rating.
Fix the app start up loop!
As others have posted, after your last update the app is getting stuck in a start up loop where it will NOT load. It just keeps showing the start up animations. I have deleted the app 3x now, reinstalled, and same thing happens. This is on the latest iOS 26.6.1
Not improved
What has happened to the app? Why has the layers button migrated to below the map? This makes the small map even smaller.
Yeesh
Radar never works
Not working
Before I did the update my weather channel was working just fine now that I did the update. I have to constantly remove it and re-download it to get it to work, which I feel I should not have to constantly do that.
Thank you
I am 12 years old and I love this app. Weather is one of my favorite things to look at and The Weather Channel makes it possible for me to look at it all the time anytime
Can’t get past the loading screen.
Was an easy to use app, until the last update. Now it sits on the loading screen. I’ll give it one more day. 🤷🏼♂️
Good but slow
Finding it pretty good so far (uk) but slower than other apps to load and get going and feels more like a web app than a phone app Otherwise good
Wether channel
Its cool
Can’t rely on it
This app is getting worse. They can’t seem to forecast a few hours ahead never mind a few days in advance. Don’t recommend it to anyone.
My opinion of your Services!
I use it daily. It is informative and correct. Thank you AWESOME APP.
Entirely unreliable
Going outside and looking up at the sky has become more accurate for providing me weather information. At least the app still knows when sunrise and sunset will be.
PLS READ THIS
I just saw the new update and pls change it back to the way it was. It looks really weird and plain. Also change the sun back to yellow
Spins, and spins, and spins…
It’s pretty apparent that, if you do not want to pay for premium, the app simply spins until you close it and open up another weather app…which I’ve done. Get your act together, guys. At least humor us by giving us the basics, please…
I prefer others
I don’t like the horizontal scroll for daily forecasts, it’s missing precipitation amount, it’s slow and layout flashes too much. I prefer weather pro and just trying out carrot weather now too.
Good to know
This app always keeps me posted on what I need to know regarding weather issues.
Latest App has major flaw
This used to be a great app. However, the latest version struggles to maintain connection with local radar. I have to delete and reinstall the app *after every use.* When first installed, the radar feed works. The second time you use it, it fails and the radar feed won’t work until the app is removed and reinstalled. Borderline useless.
Es muy buena
Le falta que hagan la app para mi Apple Watch ya pagué la mensualidad pero estaría bien vincularlo.
Map not working
Weather radar Map has not been working in a month
Bossy
I don’t appreciate the cheeky assumptions about how I spend my day. I don’t need an app to tell me what to do. Just the facts please, as before. An irritation I could do without.
Radar Love
I like using your radar. It is usually quite accurate for when the weather will hit.
Why are you giving us celsius on the notification?
I dont like the fact that y’all know we are in America and give celsius on the updates! Is it so we will click to the app to see the real temp? Im about to delete you if it does not change! Learn what country you are in!
Rainfall
I wish you could make it easy to see the anticipated future rainfall amount per hour
Another fail
It seems with every other update this app fails. The over abundance of ads makes the user experience bad enough but once again they push out an update that completely bricks the app. Spins forever and never loads or just crashes outright. Your developers should be fired. Is testing now optional?
Good app but seems to have a bug
Overall the app is good but lately somethings seems to break and the app stops working to varying degrees and periods of time
Thanks
This app is actually really accurate, thanks. I am not a bot I promise.
No longer works
Since last update stuck in start up loop
It does its job
The reader feature is pretty good. They get pretty accurate weather and overall they do lots of good things although not perfect.
Air quality doesn’t update
With all the wildfire smoke around I’m relying on the app not only for weather. Problem is the air quality index is stuck on “very poor” in the dark purple position despite it saying “moderate” just below it. The air quality number for Fri Aug 7 is 88. That is moderate, not “very poor”
New update (Jun 4 2025)
Buggy - wont boot up / just keeps doing the logo after last update on ipad
Reliable Information
I find The Weather Channel app to be much more reliable than local news channels.
Constantly trying to get me to upgrade
This app is so annoying! They are constant showing ads and trying to get me to upgrade. If I could give zero stars I would.
T
Could do the letters and numbers need to be a bit bigger
It doesn’t serve its purpose very well
The App is a very good App it has all the necessary information, however I am unable to adjust the window to be able to access the weather information with ease. The map of the country occurs most of the space. I should be able to adjust the size of the window with ease hence the low rating.
CarPlay
I would use app more if it was available on Apple CarPlay
Free Day
Once in a while especially the Holidays make full access free, I think I might be more inclined to to buy full access. Now I’ve never experienced full access so it had better be awesome. I really like live cams and great radar, Thank you.
App buggy
The app bugs big time over the past few days: it fails to launch immediately after your logo sequence, repeating ad infinitum without ever launching the home screen. So deleted and reinstalled. First reinstall, same thing. Second time, it launched as a first time user, i was able to login my account but after i closed the app and reopened it, back to square one above: the wheel of death… Third reinstall: launched and landed on a generic home screen without the initial setup and with no option to sign in. No VPN. Same issues on Wifi or regular network. Super frustrating, what’s going on?
New feel and look for the app
Hate! The new feel and look. It actually looks outdated, the fonts are too classical and the info not so easy to find
Insanely glitchy
I’ve loved and used this app for years but recently it has been so glitchy I can’t even use it. Hopefully this can be fixed
Good but 1 major issue
This app is great and provides useful information however, living in Canada, one thing I really need to know is snow accumulation. It either doesn’t show this or I can’t easily find it. It should be something right in the forefront IMO and isn’t.
Reliable
This app has been on my home screen for several years and it just gets better and better. I use it to track the weather at home, at my kid’s town and wherever I’m travelling for business. It’s very accurate, it over predicts rain in my area, but it reliably over predicts so I’ve learned how to adjust for it.
Buggy, riddled with ads
Consistent weather reports to other apps. This one has the added bonus of incessant pop up ads and a laggy, buggy UI.
Great App
One of the better Apps. However love to see Widget Customisation And Live Activity for weather conditions and rain precipitation. Only use this App now.
Good but..
Pretty accurate and good weather app other than its many pop up ads. But we want an Apple Watch app for The Weather Channel pls! Every weather app got Apple Watch app why not this! Pls add Apple Watch app soon.
Hate the notifications
Enjoy the accuracy of the app but since the upgrade the notifications are driving me. Please get rid of them. They are painful
Weather app
Love it
Storm coming can’t get past ads
Ads stuck on screen
Temp icon on app
Love the app bout the main thing I dislike & would love to see you develop would be a temperature icon on the front of the app so we could have a quick glance & not have to open the app constantly to save time?? I still open the app multiple times a day but it would be so much easier if you put that icon on the front of app icon??? PLEASE Thanks
Might be accurate, but….
Contains too much unnecessary junk.
Performance compromised for looks
Since the last update the app looks very sleek and modern, unfortunately that came at the cost of app performance. Every time I open the app it’s stuck on the logo for 30-40 seconds, even if the app was still open in the background. The widget doesn’t load a lot of the time, so when earlier I was able to quickly check the forecast now I have to open the app an have to wait while it painfully loads. Hope they’ll fix it soon, or I will be deleting it as no longer serves me the way it used to.
