It’s good!

As a veteran player, who played OM!MasterThemAll at its first stages and now playing NB, my opinion might be biased, so my rating might be off objectively. Having said that, I think it’s good and I definitely like the game mechanics better (rhythm game) than of the old one. It’s a bit easier to progress through the story with even low level cards. The story is luckily different from the old game (though the beginning is a bit repetitive) and you get to learn more lore about the characters and the world. It’s more emotional, you get to delve deeper into the brother’s feelings and even the side characters. I also love how they added the chronicles, which allow new players or veteran players that stopped playing to catch up with the whole lore of the old game. I never got too far in the old game, so I loved that feature that allowed me to catch up on everything. However, talking about low level cards; it’s very difficult. I’m only here for the story, so grinding for things isn’t up my alley. You mostly need Grimm (currency) to level up your cards which costs around 120,000 per 10 levels, but you only earn 250 per game and roughly 20,000 per work. Achievements give you around 80,000 maybe, but that’s a one time thing. That wouldn’t be such a bad thing, if the max level isn’t level 100 (200 now if you uncap the card) and need three cards in each sin (for example, three cards with the trait greed, three cards with pride, etc.). It also sucks that you need to level up your skills to even level up the base of your card, because the only one to level up skills is by pulling cards multiple times and hope they drop 5 UR+ cards. And as a causal player, that’s a big issue for me. And yes, I know that the devs need money, but they also earned enough to start NB with the old levelling system in the old game, so i don’t know why they implemented this one. Overall, despite the criticism, I love this game and it’s not that bad. With much patience, boredom and a bit of time, you can make it through the story bit by bit. And the story is really nice, so I would say it’s worth it. Plus the music they make is quite nice too!

Brilliant & disappointing

This game captivated me, but the way they ended the plot was devastating. Rushed. Like they just decided last minute that they were done with the game. It brought years of fun and joy, and it was ruined with how it ended. Solmare, I’d give it 5/5 stars, but the pitiful plot ending loses you 3.

About the pity system….

Wonderful game, and very fun to play! However, I find it pretty difficult to get pulls, along with the pity system being incredibly botched. Some events take as much 150 pity to reach the featured char, with the pulls themselves taking as much as a week to get a single 10-pull:/

Obey Me! Team, Please Read

Hello, I don’t usually write reviews on games but I feel like it’s necessary here. I’ve loved the characters and storyline of Obey Me! for years now; as an OG player coming back to both games recently, I have to say I’m incredibly disappointed. This game has so much potential and is much better than any other games like it. It makes me so sad seeing that there will be no new content in either game, along with the mechanics of Obey Me! NB. The gameplay and lay out is much nicer in my opinion, however, how difficult it is to upgrade and obtain cards without spending money is ridiculous. I’m saying this as someone who has happened to spend money on this and the previous game in the past. It feels like the company has just completely given up and chooses money over its players general enjoyment, which is really sad to see. I wish that instead of taking the games in this direction, you guys would have at least considered selling to another company that will continue to treat the game with love and care like we wish. The monetary and gameplay decisions made about this game is what’s driving away both OG and new players. It’s still a decent game, just not as enjoyable. No more events/pop quizzes, still no way to choose one love interest out of the 7 brothers, the card system being somewhat predatory; all of this is makes me and other players sad to see. If anyone on the Obey Me! team reads this, please consider all I’ve said. Turning the game in the direction it’s in will not keep the fan base alive and thriving, it is slowly killing off those who genuinely enjoy the story and characters. I do not wish to receive one of those automated responses to this review, I pray that a REAL person can read this and respond accordingly. What the game is right now will NOT benefit your company long term. The smart thing to do is thoroughly revise the game and listen to the community. Thank you.

I enjoyed it. But I was not expecting to see the same thing they did to the OG game happen to this as well. It was suddenly just abandoned, the story was ended just when it was about to get good and never again was it picked up again. It’s more disappointing than it is fun. And they give NO UPDATES to us whatsoever about when the actual story is gonna be updated. So, I would suggest you ignore this game.

You abandoned the main game for THIS?!

Look, I wouldn’t even MIND this being a side game. What I cannot STAND is the fact that this game has been released after you announced, not properly of course, that the original Obey Me! Game, you know, the one that was still thriving, isn’t going to be getting any more main story updates. There is literally no reason for this game to exist, the original was doing fine! So you abandoned a slightly more simplistic, cuter, THRIVING game where this ‘game’ could easily have slotted in as a season...4 or 5. There was no need to make this whole separate, worse game. And I’m sorry, in comparison to the original Obey Me! - this is hot garbage. Every screen is chaotic, it’s harder to navigate, the rhythm game is an assault on the senses - I swear to god it nearly gives me a seizure each time I try to do one, the 3D models will haunt my damn nightmares, and it’s just...cuter. And I hate that. I’m sorry, I didn’t download Obey Me! To be assaulted by Ruri and have everything be so sickly feminine- and I say this as a woman. The original was more subtle, pastel colours that were less in your face, cuter 2D models during the dance battles that were actually pleasant to look at. Why the hell did you do this. Hot trash because Solomare decided to make the original abandonware for it, you clearly spent so much time in the development of this garbage asking is you could, rather than if you should. But congratulations on ruining another series for me, it’s been a while since looking at an app has left such a bitter taste in my mouth.

the game is fun, but an even bigger money grab than the first game. if you’re f2p then you’re going to have a difficult time continuing the story. the system they have where you need 5 jokers to get past lvl 70 on your cards is the horrible, especially if you have UR+ cards. to get jokers you pretty much need to pay out of pocket for DP, and getting the joker cards arent even guaranteed. better off playing the first game and stopping there.

Some improvements, but…

One thing I disliked about the previous game was the dancing game—it became tedious after a while. I like the new rhythm game that was implemented in Nightbringer—it’s fun and varies in difficulty settings so it’s difficult to get bored. However, it’s MUCH harder to level Ultra cards past 70 now, and no cards are imported from the previous game. After having invested so much time (and in some cases money) in the last game to get cards I wanted, as well as investing in the characters and their development and stories, to see it all go away and start over (including the characters and their relationship with you) felt…empty. I tried to give it a chance (it’s been several months) but I felt I enjoyed it less and less and stopped playing the main story because I became bored and disliked that my relationship with the characters had been wiped. Moreover, the romantic aspect of the series seems to have suffered. A large reason I played this was for the romance—and now romance seems like an afterthought when I play the game. Paired with a bland storyline, I just can’t recommend it. I hope the story and romance improves, and perhaps some darker aspects get introduced (I’m quite frankly tired of everything being silly and goofy all the time—give me some angst and more mature aspects) but for now I’m going to have to uninstall.

Review

Good game, just like the original. But I do have some complaints. I wish that getting Grimm and resources were easier, since card leveling has a reliance on it. In the next game, I hope you improve on that, and the whole card leveling up and devil’s tree easier for f2p. Also, this implies to the other one, is that the story is very lacking, the plot is interesting but it does not immerse me like I want. There is such LITTLE reward for the hard work of obtaining, leveling up cards and fighting battles for only 2 minutes. I hope the writing improves for the next game. Obey me is such amazing item game with amazing characters, but there is a lot that can be improved.

Very disappointed and miffed about these mircotransactions

Look don't get me wrong, I am enjoying the game and sure at the moment I do not mind buying the one off birthday gifts for the boys but when you release a "special" limited time item and sell them one by one for cash not devil points that is ridiculous! At $5.99 a pop for twelve it would cost me a stupid amount of $71.88 and that's just not on. I understand you probably might need the revenue for this new venture but you really need to reevaluate the main bracket of your consumers and what is actually viable for them to engage with and to support your content. At this moment in time not only am I very disappointed in this current outcome, I am also highly disheartened. It's a lovely little spinoff of the main game unfortunately the transactions are vastly different and can get completely insane when and if one is also playing the main game. I know some of you whom read this will just say "then don't spend any money on it" and to them I say playing the obey me franchise makes me happy and I honestly don't mind spending some money within reason on them, especially when and if it supports the creators. What I don't like is prices and possible expectation that we players will just continue to happily and blindly hand over that amount of money so freely. Apologies that this ended up being so long winded and circular, I truly do enjoy both games and fully believe some of these thing are getting truly out of hand.

I've been a player since a year after this game launched with no issue. It's been exciting to see the new updates, so you can imagine my surprise and disappointment when I couldn't battle without getting stuck at the 50% mark after re-dowloading on my new IPhone 16 pro max, it is not often that this phone will lag if ever, which supports my thoughts of it being a game bug . Fun game, but causes MAJOR device issues

I love this game, I really do, and would love nothing kore than to continue playing, but it’s caused some **SERIOUS** issues with my iPad. First and foremost, it drains the battery at a significantly higher rate than other gaming apps, to the point that it will still drain even when it’s being charged, but that’s not the only issue it’s caused. A few weeks ago I was mid game and my tablet completely turned off. I wound up having to connect it to my laptop in order to reset it. Then, last night, I was playing and not only did the device turn off, it was sent into boot loop (a continuous cycle of turning on only to immediately turn off) and all attempts at recovery mode up to this point have failed. There were no issues with my device prior to downloading this app, and based on a quick glance at the reviews, I’m not the only one who has had this issue.

I personally adored obey me, the original was better even if you weren’t a whale, cards were also way easier to obtain, I expected Nightbringer to have a data transfering option, many people worked hard including me in getting new cards and updating them, but with Nightbringer, getting a Ur is difficult, Passing a ruri tune game is difficult, especially if you have to do it over and over again in the event battles, even upgrading cards is difficult, I love the original obey me but this game isn’t worth it, the storyline is great but all that effort for what? Please for the love of god atleast give us a transfer option to atleast hold the urs we worked hard for and the progress we made in the original. This is unfair, now the devs are just after money. I was playing the original Obey Me for a while, then got stuck unable to pass a dance battle level for a long time. Downloaded this, and I’m obsessed. The mini games between stories are amazing rhythm games that honestly make it a lot less aggravating to be stuck on one I can’t beat because they’re all so fun to play on their own and raise affection with the demons. The additional features go above and beyond. Also, my personal side note, I found Levi in the original to be cringe and I didn’t like him much, but in this one he’s gotten my heart. The storyline for this one is amazing. And it’s easy to resource farm through doing jobs and quick-winning mini games if you just want to drop into the game here and there to bulk up before pressing onward. 10/10 and still play the original so I’ve got twice as much content with our boys
