Too bad, it look good to start with
Was easy to set up, but I have a non-trivial number of mail folders in groups. Both the groups and the individual folders show up in more-or-less random order. Trying to find them is hell, leaving the GUI completely useless; I’ve removed it. I’d suggest checking whether it really can show the number of folders you actually use before buying a subscription.
Getting better
I wrote a negative review about a year ago. The app was very slow and unpolished. I've tried it again and I see they've made improvements. Performance is better and the customizing is creeping forward. Hopefully they'll keep developing it to bring it up to the standards of the Android version.

Unter iPadOS 18.6 und 18.7 ist es nicht möglich, den Text einer Signatur farbig zu formatieren. Egal, welche Farbe man wählt, sie wird nicht angenommen. Das ist einfach lächerlich. Und was das Design der App und die Darstellung der Mails angeht, bleibt Aqua Mail weit hinter der Andriod App und Konkurrenten wie Spark oder AirMail zurück.
Aqua Mail Review
The email app works pretty fluidly with no major interruptions. Hoping there will be an update to correct the military time to regular time etc… and additional sound tones. Those 2 are my only minor issues but everything else is pretty solid!
Unnötig kompliziert
Wozu einen Aquamail-Account erstellen, wenn ich die App auf jedem Gerät trotzdem manuell einrichten muss? Wieso kann ich mich nicht einfach einloggen und alle Postfächer sind synchron? Direkt wieder gelöscht.
Has promise for basic use
This app has some promise for super basic use, but for business use on Microsoft 365 it would be best to search elsewhere. I am most distressed because the help files are all out of date and seemed to mention features that no longer exist.

Avendola comprata in versione pro, ora con l’a bonamento mi trovo a poterla usare solo come chi la usa gratis, le solite furbate.
Android version is better
Aqua Mail was the default Mail app on my Android. I absolutely loved it. So after moving to iOS I downloaded this email client immediately. Sadly, the iOS version is lacking. The Smart Mailbox on Android is customizable which was very nice. On iOS it's just an "All inbox" with no way to customize it. Also, the Smart Mailbox on Android showed the account names which was extremely helpful. Having a bubble with just one letter isn't useful if two accounts start with the same letter. Please fix the Smart Mailbox to make it the same as the Android version. I'll gladly pay for the subscription if those features can be brought to the iOS version.
My go-to Email client
Aqua Mail is a great job of managing many inboxes and ways to sort through all the volume to get to the important stuff with smart folders, etc. Having said that I do prefer the android version much more because you get a better side-by-side view.
App still hasn’t been banned
This app still hasn’t been removed why it’s the most annoying email app. I would use this if they would just fix all the problems this app has. They need to fix not getting notifications from the iPhone to the smart watch. Plus change the price for the premium version it’s just too expensive to buy especially with all these high prices nowadays.
Nach Update Account wiederherstellen
Nach dem neuesten Update muss ich sehr häufig meinen Account wiederherstellen. Auch wird bei manchen Mails kein Text angezeigt. Insgesamt scheint das Programm langsamer geworden zu sein.
Schön, aber Fehlerhaft
Aquamail isr ein sehr schönes Programm mit großem Funktionsumfang. Doch ein Auto das nicht fährt, ist nicht wirklich ein Auto. Aquamail hat bei mir einige Emails als „versendet“ gemeldet, das jedoch nicht getan und dafür die Nachricht komplett verschwinden lassen. Das kam erst nach und nach ans Licht. Somit leider „nicht brauchbar“.
Past Purchase
I am a longtime AquaMail user. Some years back I purchased a lifetime subscription for AquaMail Pro. I recently switch from Android to iPhone and was disappointed to find that there seems to no way to restore my purchase to the new phone. Am I correct in my assumption that lifetime does not really mean lifetime, when switching to a different platform?

This app is *so* good on Android that I keep trying it under iOS, hoping. But alas, no. Just tried again after months away, used the same settings as in Apple’ Mail client yet won’t even setup my IMAP account (“Unstable server connection”, whatever that means). I used the option to send them a log (multiple times) so hopefully they will take a look and figure it out (also hopefully they use some other channel other than their own email to get the log sent ’cause the email won’t set up in the first place).

I'll pay the $30 if this ever catches up to the Android version but this is not even close. Meanwhile the ads are rediculously intrusive. Is this even the same developer?? Update: I checked in again just because I was a huge fan of the android version, but still no multi-level swipe. Deal killer. What's with them? Can that really be so hard??

Habe die App für mein bisheriges non iOS- Gerät gekauft (Lifetime). Warum muss ich es hier noch einmal kaufen? Leider zeigt die App viele Mails doppelt in der Inbox :( Ein vergleichbares Verhalten zeigen andere IMAP-Mailer nicht. Werbung wäre ja sogar fast Ok wenn diese nicht Mails komplett unlesbar macht.

Very disappointing
First off, it's crazy expensive. I have no idea how they can justify the extremely high price to use the app, but I did pay for one year. Now based on my experience, and having previously used the Android version for more than 10 years, I will not be renewing. This version does not compare. I already feel totally ripped off, and I only got a one year license. Terrible.
Live it, but a couple things…
Love the app. I use if for IMAP account. It needs two additions: when deleting email in the app, also delete it from the server, and the Search could be improved to include the name of senders and email subject lines.

Very Okay iOS Mail App
I wanted to like this app. It is great on my Android device. But, its lack of features and bugs feel like this is just a side project for the Aqua Mail team. On top of that, you have to purchase subscriptions for both devices AND there is not a well supported Desktop app (macOS or Windows). I will be sticking with Canary Mail on my iPhone and macOS for now. I am still testing it on my Android phone but I will probably choose to stay with Canary on Android too even though it has a large amount of bugs. Overall, I was looking for a decent universal mail app and this is definitely not one. Simple things that could raise my score: - Stop being greedy — We’re already paying yearly. Combine subscriptions using in-house checking. It is very possible and very easy to implement. - Update your app more regularly on here. Once a month doesn’t cut it.

Not as good as it used to
This was my way to go app for many years as an Android user and I remember it had so many customizable settings that why I loved it, here we are a few years later on iOS where you can barely move couple settings plus I had the life time subscription and now it costs $100?! Maybe someday it will be what is used to

Die App ist gut gemacht was mich sehr stört ist das Abo ich habe vor einigen Jahren die App im Google Store für 19,90€ als Lebenslang gekauft nun soll sie 29,99€ im Jahr kosten gern würde ich auch 50 oder 60€ bezahlen aber ohne Abo
poor performance
On iPhone 15 the application is riddled with issues. example the update functionality isn‘t working most of the time. The mailbox view keeps showing unread messages often, even when the directory is completely empty. Most of the trash/bin isn’t emptied by Delete all function or when selected and deleted by delete icon. Other email apps don‘t have the same problem! If it would be a free app then it would be ok but as a subscription service?

iOS Version is Nigh on Rubbish Compared to to the Android Version.
I have been using the Android version for +/– 15 years and from day 1, I have found nothing to surpass it for the dozens and dozens of default choices and options as a sight impaired user. As the life of Android tablets is very limited – replacements have cost me a mint over the years so I succumed to pressure encouraging me to buy an iPad for it’s accessibility and longevity advantages. I was over the moon to find AquaMail is available in an iOS version but utterly shocked to find out how limited it is and not at all ‘user friendly’ for my needs so I hardly use it, reverting to the tablet side of my ASUS Flip / 2 in 1 Chromebook. I rate the Android version 20* plus – absolutely superb and give recognition to the iOS version with a 1* for its minimalistic features. I am not ashamed to put my name against my honest experience by submitting this review.

Many common functions that other mail programmes include are missing, especially security options. Pity!

Sent mail shows my name first instead of the recipient’s name first. I called but what they told me to do in setting, does not exist.

Bad notifications and slow
I’m getting double notifications on iOS and no badges showing count. Even after notification the new mail isn’t in the inbox and takes refreshing several times. It is set to push mail. I loved your Android version but this one is awful.
Can’t get into my emails
I downloaded the app, went through setup—and couldn’t get past the page that said “Mailbox” and “VIP” and offered a chance to edit details. Email apps aren’t much good if you can’t read your emails!

Beta version not worth the pricing
I strongly recommend the developers pull this app until it has functionality that is somewhat close to its competitors. Otherwise, the star rating will never recover. This is a barely passable email app. To charge $30 per year is unsupportable. If the developer wants ios users to be beta testers, then how about a one time small app fee and then a subscription model when the app is actually developed? First, this app is missing tons of functionality compared to its Android sibling. That may be because ios is not developer friendly and much of that functionality isn't transferable. But even compared to popular ios mail apps, this app is one of the worst I've tried on ios. Critical functions missing include the ability to set account folders to sync and notify on new mail, and the ability to change the font size for text. To my knowledge, no ios mail app does this but the AquaMail android app does. I would pay $30 per year for that. I'm not paying a single penny to remove a signature line from my emails. The ads are bad enough but that is just gross. This app could be great, but the pay structure on it is upside down, bigly. The Android app was the greatest app on my Android devices for almost 10 years. I can't use this app on ios for 10 minutes without getting depressed. So bad for our country!
Very little here
Don’t expect anything close to the Android app. There is little in the way of customization. No customization of email threads. No customization of fonts or colors. No widget. There is not enough in terms of features to warrant paying a subscription. It’s not a bad app, just a simple app that in no way stands out. The developer is just asking users to pay for the development of a beta version.
Not near as good as android version
This app was great in Android. I paid for it on my android but it was a onetime fee, not a year subscription. The adds on this free version are terrible and I don’t want to pay nearly $30 a year for an app. About to delete here and go back to using the mail app on my phone. At least there are no adds ruining the experience. Also, every time I first open the app I get a full white screen. I have to then close the app and reopen and THEN it allows me to see my mail.

If you're a fan of the Android version of Aquamail, you'll be very disappointed with this. I'm sure the developer would have liked to replicate that app here, but is handcuffed by Apple. Ultimately, that leads to an app with little resemblance to the Android version, and virtually no meaningful customizations. It also is designed only for the iPhone, so is really disappointing on an iPad. So, there are many better better email options for the iPhone/iPad.
Bring the functionality of the Android version here
I left the android platform 3 years ago for iOS. I have since been searching the app store for aqua mail. Finally yesterday my search yielded results. Imagine my excitement to download this app only to be disappointed by the lack of any customizations as I was used to on my Samsung Galaxy Note. I cannot subscribe to this now. I will keep checking back every 2-3 months to see if this app becomes one I will be willing to pay for. Update: Three months after my first review I am adding a star. I have gone ahead and subscribed to this app. It made sense to me to go with the yearly subscription for $29.99. I think the developers of this app are very serious and will make this app a premier email app and I would like to get a front row seat. Three months ago when I first downloaded the app it was unusable. They have added some serious features that tells me they are not messing around. Please support this app and you will never look back. Those of you who are familiar with the Android version of this app know what I am talking about. It is still far from that but I want to support these developers for the awesome effort they are putting in to this app.
