Altamail: Excellent Email App!
Altamail is a very useful email app. Their tech team is constantly improving the product with new and updated features because they care about their customers!
Useless again
I’ve been using this app for several years now. I bought the lifetime membership. Today, it I’ll decided that I needed to log into another email address that is totally unrelated to the application. It’s not letting me use it at all. And I can’t even get onto request for help. Basically this is trash right now for me. Logged me out again. And can’t log back in.

Die App erkennt mein Jahresabonnement nicht und setzt sich auf Testversion zurück. Auch ein Wiederherstellen des In App Kaufes funktioniert nicht. Super, kein Zugriff auf andere eMail Konten. Auf Nachfragen von mir, kam später die Antwort, dass der „Server“,gewartet worden ist. Ich finde das hätte besser laufen können. Zb. ohne Funktionsstörungen für die User, oder zumindest vorab eine Information. Btw, hat die App noch viele Bugs. Zb. öffne ich eine Mail und will daraus Texten kopieren und auf Safari einfügen, ist jedesmal wenn man zurück zu AltaMail geht die Mail wieder geschlossen und weg. Auch bei PDF Anhängen sind diese geschlossen, sobld man ml schnell in einer nderen App war. Eine schnelle Wischgeste für „in Ordner verschieben“ gibt es auch nicht mehr. Man muss erst wischen, dann „weitere Wischaktionen auswählen, dann in Ordner verschieben. Das ist umständlich. Ebenfalls ist das Design mittlerweile etwas altbacken und könnte mal auf einen modernen Stand gebracht werden.
Bien, mais des fonctions manquent
Il est très complet (Parfois même complexe au début) mais limité sur certaines fonctions pourtant basiques : - les Panneaux divisés ne marchent que sur les boîtes principales de tous les favoris ... donc exit sur des filtres, ou sur les sous-dossiers - les tris ne fonctionnent que sur un seul critère ... Donc exit la possibilité de trier par xxx PUIS par ... PUIS par Dommage ... Trop de complexité d'un côté Des fonctions basiques qui manquent. Pourtant le concept de l'appli est riche et intéressant

AltaMail packs a punch with all the bells and whistles. With that being said, the only downfall is when I purchased the non Lifetime option, I discovered that the program only runs on the iPad and iPhone, but the lifetime allows you to run it on your Mac, iPad and iPhone.

おそらく2025/7/22のアップデート以後、アプリが立ち上げ直後に強制終了するようになり困っている。 早急な修復をお願いしたい
Plein de bonnes choses... mal finies
Beaucoup de fonctionnalités et je pensais avoir enfin trouvé une bonne appli mail... mais. Beaucoup de petits bugs, notamment dans l'affichage des mails, de leurs couleurs voire une incapacité totale à en afficher certains. L'interface est très paramétrable, c'est bien, mais quoi qu'on fasse cela reste moche. Bien sûr c'est un avis esthétique donc subjectif, mais cela empêche quand même d'aller vite à l'essentiel. Les recherches sont limitées, bien plus que les règles d'apple mail, qui sont plutôt bonnes. C'est incroyable qu'aucun développeur n'arrive à pondre un système performant. Les dossiers des boites comme gmail ou autres sont difficiles à trouver et à placer en favori. Les épingles ne sont pas standard, obligent à créer une règle spécifique pour les afficher. Bref. Alta mail est bourré de possibilités, mais c'est mal fini, mal ficelé, c'est typiquement un développement d'informaticien pour son usage propre, plein d'options mais sans ergonomie. Dommage vraiment. Du coup je n'ai parlé que des défauts alors qu'il y a quelques fonctionnalités superbes, comme la synchronisation des comptes et leur paramétrage vraiment intelligent. Essayez-le, ça en vaut la peine. Moi je retourne sur mail, car les sparks et airmails deviennent des apps bugguées et chères. Autant rester sur une app apple, bien intégrée même si elle reste pauvre en fonctionnalités, avec une synchro entre comptes incroyablement déficiente. Ce qui n'est pas le cas d'alta mail.
Best email app
I have been using AltaMail for more than 5 years and it’s the best app. Over the years the app has improved tremendously.
Terrible
Forgot I tried this all years ago - interface is still the same. UI/UX is too convoluted and needs a complete redesign. The Gmail sign in process is a circular nightmare. The constant nagging to log into an account is one of the most annoying features on an app I've ever encountered. It constantly attempts to handshake and pops up a log in prompt every 5 seconds, which when using Gmail - does not work because Google blocks this app. It will continue nagging you as you try to create an app password for Gmail and try to get through the myriad of settings to shut off 2FA and try to manually enter the app password. Terrible design.

Too many issues
Duplicate notifications for the same email, email shows as being received twice, too many emails do not format correctly. Shouldn't have to pay for something that's a work in progress.
Recent update made it very unstable
Opens and closes instantly due to recent poor update can send mail

Emails are ok, the Rules are great!!!
I bought this application for the ability to have rules in iOS like my Mac has. The product does what I needed to get my junk email under control. Someone spam-bombed me and I went from 2 to 5 a day to 150 or even more a day. As long as I keep up with adding new domains as they appear in my in box. I did not gave it 5 stars because the readability of emails is really bad. I’ve gotten used to iOS Apple email and AltaMail is just hard to read. Also I would be great to have a rule short cut that would grab a email’s from email address and create a rule to send that domain to the Trash. Again absolutely love the ability to create real rules. Thanks for a great app for email rules and I recommend it to anyone who needs a highly developed rule system.

Peut-être même trop! C’est vraisemblablement l’appli mail la plus complète. Malheureusement cette complexité se fait au détriment de l’ergonomie qui a l’usage devient pénible, sans parler du design d’un autre temps. Je le regrette.
Décevant (mais corrections apportées)
Installé sur mon iPhone et mon iPad. Dans les deux cas, revenu à la version originale car trop de bugs. J’ai communiqué avec le service à la clientèle qui n’ont pas réussi à régler les problèmes. Donc, mon deux mois d’essai gratuit ne vaut rien... Mise-à-jour: Plusieurs problèmes ont été résolus. Espérons que ça continue de s’améliorer.
Best iOS mail app
Has all the right features and great customer support. Beats all other iOS mail apps by far.
Paid user, hate support
I’ve paid for years for this app and each time I’ve needed support to report a bug that needs fixing I’m treated like I’m dumb or making it all up - forcing me to capture videos to prove it or get no support at all. I’m not sure why I bother paying for support when this is what I get. You can expect to get a form reply implying you are an idiot, or that no one else has reported this issue, how can it possibly be real etc. Sick of this app and I’m looking elsewhere. Suggest you consider doing the same if you want either a smooth experience, or at least responsive support.

The most capable & customizable email app.
AltaMail just keeps getting better. The latest couple of updates have made dealing with spam and even those routine messages you want to read but don't want to be notified of incredibly easy. I really can't understand why AltaMail isn't a LOT more mainstream. Very few of the popular review sites even know it exists, yet if email is a big part of your day (even if it's in the "necessary evil" category), AltaMail deserves a place in your dock. I will say that it not the easiest of email programs to learn to use, and getting it configured the way you want can take some effort, but settings sync between supported devices seamlessly, and it shaves hours off of my day vs the big names in the email client space. I've used them all, not just tried them, but used them for extended periods of time, especially the ones everybody raves about. They're all terrible compared to AltaMail, unless you just happen to love the way that app works. With AltaMail, you don't have to worry too much about that - just change it. AltaMail isn't cute. It doesn't try to be. To me, picking an email program based on it's looks is like picking a car based on color. Getting the car you want/need in a color you like is important, but it needs to suit its intended purpose first, then you can play with the fluff. AltaMail is that email client. Their support staff is also awesome. They make a real effort to understand your questions, and they one of the app developers I can count on one hand that's ever emailed me to ask if a request I made was cared for in a release just posted on the app store. As an fyi, my AltaMail client is managing more than a dozen email addresses. I'm a consultant and some of my clients need me to have an internal email address, so I get a lot of emails in a lot of different accounts. I also get a lot of spam and mail that may not technically be spam but isn't even something I need to look at. AltaMail's incoming notification and mail handling rules are the best in any email client I've ever seen on any platform, and I've been using email since the 80's (yeah, those 80's, the ones that start with a 19).

You have to pay after a set time. They also do not tell you this in the description. Not a proper way to do business.

I’ve tried almost every email client on the App Store. So far AltaMail does everything I want from an email client. I’m still familiarising myself with all of the features so just early days.
Best email app, but now forced to subscribe
This is a brilliant email, which does exactly what I want & how I want. After having spent some time setting this up to work just the way I want, I am informed the FREE TRIAL ends soon and I will have to pay forever on a subscription! I was not aware that I was using a FREE TRIAL, as it was not explicitly stated early on in the description. There is only a casual mention of it in passing, in the final paragraph. I am really not prepared to take on a software subscription, which effectively means you never stop paying for using it. I much prefer to pay a single fixed price upfront and quite happy to pay for any upgrades, if the software is good enough. Unless the devs are planning to provide this version as a single priced item, I will have to search for a replacement, which is a great shame and effectively a waste of my time.
The most sophisticated options and easy to use
I have used quite a few mail apps and this is by far the most robust while being easy to use. Ability to customize many mail management features is highly useful. VERY IMPORTANTLY: This is the only email app that has enabled me to hide the vast amount of email clutter thus enabling me to quickly see the important emails which used to be like finding “needles in a hay stack”. This enables me to QUICKLY glance at the app for what I need (and must not miss) as my days are focused outside email and I do not have the time to manually cull the clutter. Custom notifications are great to have as they reach out of my phone to grab my attention. The extensive means of customizing email lit appearance is also a huge aid in quickly targeting the emails that need attention NOW. My favorite email app keeps on getting better. Thank you to the team for the best most capable email app of many I have used through the decades of email becoming increasingly essential in so many aspects of life - while junk mail and relatively unimportant email increasingly is crowding out the essential emails - AltaMail enables me to set various rules that direct AltaMail to, in multiple ways, cull through the inessential to the essential

Just had a message telling me this was a trial, and to continue to use this I have to pay. Don’t bother downloading, use something else.
On line help centre
I have found AltaMail to be extremely helpful no matter how basic or difficult my question has been. They have always been very willing to continue to look into the issue until it is resolved.
One of the best email clients
I didn’t give 5 stars only because of user interface design that makes it look a bit cluttered. For example, when selecting folders or accounts in the side bar, it shows the content with no indentation making you look twice among the other options. But it has still many customizable items which can solve things if you know how to use it. Rules are an important feature that distinguishes the software from other solutions.

Rules are great
One off the few mail apps that allows one to customise mail autosorting into Folders with your own rules. Needs some work on mapping outlook flags onto AltaMail flags

Full of glitches
Been using this app for a few years, and now have decided to go elsewhere, since all the new features and there are many, but it glitches all the time, the developers need to get the simple bits sorted first, and forget all the fancy stuff, the phrase running before they can walk comes to mind... I have to send error messages almost on a weekly basis, and when you use an app for business it’s not good. I would love to carry on using but just can’t trust it... Yes it’s cheap, but there are better free ones out there...

Good email with continue updates, still a bit buggy but developing appears willing able to resolve issues quite readily. One I always keep coming back to however hard I try and dismiss just love the way you are able to adapt it to your personal needs
