What people like
- Completely free to listen offline
- Works great without internet connection
- Easy to use for beginners
What they complain about
- AI voices sound robotic and boring
- Background play pauses randomly on iOS17
- Charges you multiple times for one year
Pretty good!
This was just what I was looking for! I’m a kid who loves making stories, and I was able to put it on this app! I do wish that the voices were more expressive, but I understand that’s probably impossible. Overall, 5/5 stars! Definitely recommend it.
Outdated voices
The voices sound like their from the ancient times when we were just amazed our computers could talk at all. Now they are just hard to listen to. Especially for a monthly fee.
Ripped off
I got scammed out of $37.08 for triple subscription of same app same overlapping year. I Got my 1st premium subscription to narrator app for 1yr on July 1st (free 1yr app advice offer). Then a week later when i tried to use app I found out none of the premium features were available, so I hit “restore previous purchase “ from inside narrator app. Well IT CHARGED ME for 2 more CONCURRENT years / MAKING THAT a total of 3 subscriptions for the same one year on same Apple ID - charges $00.00 on July 1st, then $14.99 then $19.99 on July 5-6 for total theft of $37.08. I reported this to Apple & it refunded me $14.99 BUT DENIED refund of $19.99, I realized i didn’t mention date of prior acquisition for the same one year just a few days prior for FREE with AppAdvice promotion. Take Note: at time of the $14.99 & $19.99 charges I already HAD a current subscription that I ACQUIRED July 1st for the exact same timeframe . them charging me $14.99 & $19.99 under “restore purchase” is THEFT by deception. They have refunded $14.99 but owe me $19.99 also. So want my $20 refunded now. Additionally Please make sure I can still access to premium features as per the 1yr i acquired at $0.00 from July 1st. Send me my REFUND FOR $19.99 now or credit card fraud will be reported to my CC. Thanks for your immediate assistance in this matter
Demasiado caro
La app en sí está bien, el año pasado pague un año de suscripción, pero este año es más cara, y la versión gratuita dura muy poco, buscaré otra alternativa
Great, but would be better
There should be more option to go pass 2x speed?
Scam
This app makes you pay to use “premium voices” that are literally made by Apple. Why would I pay you for a voice you did not make. You’re charging me to use something that Apple made.
Great app
Affordable, nice, but the ai voices could be a bit smoother
horrid

LIFE SAVER!!
The amount of times this app has saved me the last few years because I hate reading! I love that it has a less robotic voice than most other readers AND it’s free and easy to use!! Highly recommend. Great app.
Terrible
Terrible digital voices
Great for books, but crashing a lot.
I've tried most of the app, but when I create a new audiobook, it just crashes. But I love the other parts of the app.
I hope this isn’t an insult, Narrator.
I’m very sorry if it seems like I’m insulting you, but I do not recommend this app for people who want to be an author and have an audiobook for their story. The voices are not expressive enough, and a way to fix that is maybe having a setting that changes the emotion of the voice that’s speaking. It’s also not realistic enough, which means that it’s WAY too AI and nothing that says “I’m a real human!” in the voices. And the way they read, geez it sounds like that they don’t wanna be there. That they sound so bored and have no life in them. 100% deleting the app. But the opinion that matters most is the app’s creators. If they feel like that suggestions by viewers should be done, then they’ll do so! If not, then they wouldn’t. No matter how many times you beg them. Their app, their choice. So that’s what i have to say, to the app’s creators, and the viewers. Goodbye!
Good app
I love taking runs or bike rides and listening to my favorite audio books. But I especially love listening to my own creations. I loved this app, but unfortunately I decided to delete it. Two things were very difficult for me. First, you must type your story at once, because you cannot save it. Once you log out, you may not continue with your project. Second, the voices are ear splitting. They are so AI that if you listen to them, you can even hardly recognize what they are saying! Thus, making my experience not enjoyable. And so, I deleted it.
No!!!
Did not get this game just not work if you want to read a book, we cannot find a book there no books we can make books but no books
Cool app, exactly what I was looking for.
Great app. Thanks for developing it! Request: would be great if we could have an option in Settings that would allow us to have the narrator’s voice skip predefined parts of a text. I’m using this app to have it read lots of texts that have numbered citations and verse numbers and the app reads the texts but it also reads the numbers too because it doesn’t know that I doesn’t need to read them out loud. Example: rather than reading only the words in a bible verse, it reads the number of the verse too.
Very pleased with this app!
This is simply great!!!
RUIM

Muy buena!
Me gusta mucho! Aunque hay palabras que lee mal, pero a parte de esto es ideal.
Best way to listen to free audiobooks
This app is free and just as good if not better than the expensive apps like speechify. My only complaint is that sometimes the app will only play if I leave the app open with my screen still on which I think is a glitch. Other than that it’s amazing.
Excelente app, no tuve ninguna dificultad al usarla
Lo útil es que funciona sin internet. Espero que le pongan para escanear pagina y así crear audiolibros.
Phenomenal text-to-speech
Edit: i updated to ios17 and when i turn my phone off, the background play pauses. It’s really annoying since sometimes it pauses and othertimes it’ll continue playing, and I can’t figure out what’s triggering it specifically. I use it to listen to my epubs and the voices are all standard iPhone AI voices. They work just fine, and you could listen to any amount for free, offline, and off app. I have two stories uploaded, both well over 400k words, and I’ve been a happy listener since. Though, the sizes are so huge the book files are separated into parts. There IS a subscription premium, but that’s only if you want to make an audio file from your files to save somewhere else without any character limits. But you don’t really need it if you plan to listen on your phone. If I could suggest any improvements, they’d be minor like the ability to create folders or different file views as they’re only in list form right now.
Look No Further
Literally go on LibGen, download an epub of whatever, listen to it like an audiobook. Rinse and repeat. Been looking for an app like this. 🤙
Works great
I was able to effortlessly converts a couple of my books into an audio file and choose a voice that I enjoy listening to. And now I am listening to my favorite books whenever I want without trying to find them online and paying like 20$ for each of them. Well done!
