Vollkommen zufrieden!
Super App! Der Kundenservice ist auch top, vorallem weil es ein deutscher Kundenservice ist. Sollte mal etwas nicht funktionieren einfach anschreiben und innerhalb ein weniger Tage melden sie sich und lösen das Problem!

I personally hate this app. I believe that if you trust your child enough to even have a phone or any kind of device in the first place, then you should also trust that your child is capable of staying out of trouble and making reasonable decisions. Giving someone a device and then constantly monitoring and restricting everything they do on it completely defeats the purpose. If there is truly that little trust, then honestly the better solution would be to not give the kid a device at all rather than handing them one and then turning it into a heavily controlled system. What makes it worse is that this app doesn’t just “set boundaries.” It interferes with basic functionality and creates unnecessary problems that never needed to exist. I’ve had it block the browser entirely, randomly restrict things I actually need to use, and impose screen-time limits on devices where that restriction makes absolutely no sense. Instead of helping, it turns simple tasks into frustrating obstacles. Things that should take seconds suddenly require jumping through hoops just to work around restrictions that feel pointless and arbitrary. Another thing that makes this app even more pointless is that every single function it performs can already be done using the built-in Screen Time controls on the device. The phone literally comes with its own system for managing usage, setting limits, and controlling content if that’s something a parent wants to do. Installing a completely separate app just to duplicate those same features feels unnecessary and excessive. It’s like adding another layer of control that doesn’t actually provide anything new—just more complications and more things that can break. On top of that, it’s honestly embarrassing. Saying your device has the normal built-in controls that come with the phone is one thing—that’s just a standard feature. But having a whole separate monitoring app installed makes it feel way more extreme and invasive than it needs to be. It turns something that could be handled quietly through the device’s own settings into something much more obvious and uncomfortable. Even beyond the technical issues, the whole concept feels incredibly intrusive. It sends the message that the default assumption is that the child can’t be trusted, which is honestly pretty insulting. Trust is something that’s supposed to be built, not replaced with constant monitoring and automatic limits. An app like this doesn’t encourage responsibility—it just creates resentment and frustration because it constantly reminds you that someone else is controlling what you can and can’t do on your own device. At the end of the day, the problems this app creates far outweigh whatever benefits it claims to have. Instead of promoting healthy device use, it complicates everything and makes normal use of a phone unnecessarily difficult. So yeah, I genuinely despise this app. It doesn’t solve problems—it creates them, and most of those problems wouldn’t even exist if the app itself didn’t exist in the first place.
Sehr gute App mit Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten
Nachdem mein Sohn irgendwie rausbekommen hat, die Bildschirmzeit über Apple permanent zu umgehen, musste eine neue Lösung her. Durch Zufall bin ich auf diese App gestoßen und recht schnell begeistert gewesen. Gute Benutzeroberfläche, gute Einstellungsmöglichkeiten. Nicht jugendfreie Inhalte werden direkt blockiert. Verbesserung im Bezug auf die Möglichkeit für einzelne Apps zusätzliche Zeit zu genehmigen. Sprich ist das Limit für eine App um, wäre es super wenn es eine Möglichkeit gibt auch nur für diese App zusätzliche Zeit frei zu schalten, ohne dass ich dann erst die komplette Einstellung für diese App ändern muss.

Top Eltern App
Nach langer Suche und Vergleich von Eltern/kind Apps. Nutzen wir Ohana und ich muss ehrlich sagen, dass Ohana im Vergleich zu den anderen Apps einfach funktioniert. Klar gibt es auch hier das ein oder andere was man sich wünschen würde. Aber alles in allem sind die Möglichkeiten der App ausreichend um mein Kind zu schützen. So richtig vermissen würde ich eine Überwachung der Nachrichten zur Vermeidung von Mobbing. Ansonsten kann ich Ohana nur loben. Wir nutzen sie jetzt schon länger und auch wenn man trotzdem ab und zu mal bei anderen Apps reinschaut, fällt die Wahl immer wieder auf Ohana.

Nach Update funktioniert die App nicht mehr richtig
Wir nutzen Ohana seit knapp einem Jahr. Bis auf kleinere Schwierigkeiten hat die App ganz OK funktioniert – in jedem Fall hat sie mehr Akzeptanz gefunden als Apple Screentime. Nach dem letzten Update allerdings kollidieren diese beiden Funktionen offenbar miteinander, was entweder zu unerwünschten Sperrungen des Tennie-Handys oder alternativ zu unbegrenzter Bildschirmzeit führt, weil die Limitierungen gar nicht mehr funktionieren.
Funktioniert nicht mehr seit iOS Update
Wann erscheint endlich der Patch? Wenn der App-Altivitätsbericht in Apples Bildschirmzeit aktiviert ist funktionieren die Einschränkungen durch Ohana nicht mehr. Überarbeitung nach Entwicklerantwort: Ansonsten finde ich die App gut. Ärgerlich ist die Abhängigkeit zur API von Apple und dass nun keine genauen Reports der Aktivtäten erstellt werden können.
Wirklich gut und toller Service!
Ich verwende die App seit April 2025 im Abo und bin begeistert: endlich gibt es fast keine Diskussionen mehr mit meinem Sohn. Etliche Lücken der „Bildschirmzeit“ werden geschlossen. Der Kundenservice ist bei Fragen sehr schnell und reagiert dankbar auf Vorschläge. Datenschutzkonformität ist ein riesiges Plus! Die wichtigsten Pluspunkte gegenüber „Bildschirmzeit“: mehrere Auszeiten am Tag einstellbar (zb Schlafen, Erledigungen) ; mehrere Modi (Aus, Lernen, Freizeit), gute Übersicht und Zuverlässigkeit („Bildschirmzeit“ dagegen war in den letzten 1 1/2 Jahren mehrere Monate außer Betrieb)! Weiter so!

Kein Apple Watch support und setzt iOS 17 voraus
Unsere Kinder bekommen die alten Geräte um damit zu surfen, Lernapps zu machen und um Stundenpläne/ Landplattformen zu verwenden. - und ja auch, um das ein oder andere Spiel zu machen. Leider wird das iPhone 8 von der App nicht unterstützt, da iOS 17 vorausgesetzt wird. Somit ist dieses Gerät nicht nutzbar… Gerne hätten wir auch über die Apple Watch 6 cellular unseres Kindes die Ortungsfunktion genutzt. Leider wird auch dies nicht unterstützt. Die App selber ist aber auf jeden Fall nachvollziehbarer als die Bildschirmzeit von iOS nur in unserem Falle nicht gewinnbringend..

Ich bin ein Kind und habe die App nach ungefähr 2 Wochen Beschränkung vollständig umgehen können.

Wir nutzen die App jetzt seit circa zwei Jahren. Am Anfang war es wirklich top. Momentan gibt es aber ständig Probleme, die die App für uns langsam wirklich anstrengend machen
Beste Kindersicherungs-App!
Haben lange nach einer idealen Lösung für die Smartphone-Nutzung unseres Sohnes gesucht. Wollten eine App, mit der man viele individuelle Einstellungen machen kann und die vor allem zuverlässig funktioniert (was leider keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist). Sind so auf Ohana gestoßen und vollends zufrieden. Die App bietet alles, was wir brauchen, funktioniert perfekt und ist einfach zu bedienen. Wenn man doch mal ein Thema hat, gibt es einen superfreundlichen persönlichen Support, der innerhalb kürzester Zeit eine Lösung für das Problem findet. Absolut 100%-ige Empfehlung!
Terrible
This app is horrible. I used it for my son and he became so upset about how this app gives your children no privacy and makes their life more difficult, I understand that you want to make it so your children aren’t addicted to their devices but this doesn’t work. It just makes your children angry and gives them no privacy, just use the one in settings, this app sucks and I would give it zero stars if I could

Sehr gut, aber ein paar Optionen fehlen
Ohana bietet eine gute Möglichkeit zur Fixierung von Bildschirmzeit für Kinder. Das macht Ohana besser und vor allem zuverlässiger als die Screen Time Einstellungen von Apple selbst. Fünf Sterne gäbe es von mir, wenn eine Erweiterung für Apple TV kommen würde. Das fehlt besonders! Unsere Kinder wissen, wie sie Apple TV über die Fernbedienung oder über ein iPhone einschalten. Eine Möglichkeit zur Einstellung einer maximalen Bildschirmzeit für Apple TV (unabhängig vom User) und eine Verlängerung der Apple-TV Bildschirmzeit über die Ohana-App wäre eine extrem wertvolle Erweiterung! Ansonsten wirklich sehr gut. Vielen Dank an die Entwickler!
Don’t buy this app !
Lags every day. When my parents give me more or less than 30 min screen time I always gives me less than my parents put on Ohana !!! I don’t recommend this app!! Romanian:Se poate că eu sunt doar supărat că am timp limitat .Dar eu cred că nu !De aceasta dau 2 stele . Am fi dat doar o stea !
Viel Frust auf beiden Seiten
Ich habe Ohana nun ein halbes Jahr lang genutzt, um das Medienverhalten meines Kindes am Smartphone zu regulieren. Grundsätzlich gefällt mir die Idee sehr gut, und ich finde es toll, dass man gezielt einzelne Apps sperren kann. Diese verschwinden dann tatsächlich vom Kindergerät und sind wirklich nicht mehr zugänglich – da gibt es keine Tricks oder Schlupflöcher. Das ist ein starkes Plus und funktioniert zuverlässig. Leider hört es da für mich mit den positiven Erfahrungen auch schon auf. Die App ist insgesamt sehr umständlich zu bedienen, beißt sich mit den Apple-Einstellungen und hat uns mehr Frust als Entlastung gebracht. Zweimal hat sich die App auf dem Kinderhandy einfach von alleine deaktiviert, ohne dass ich sofort benachrichtigt wurde – erst viel später bekam ich eine Info auf meinem Gerät. In der Zwischenzeit war plötzlich alles freigeschaltet, und mein Kind hing bis tief in die Nacht am Handy. Das war wirklich ärgerlich. Zusätzlich gab es immer wieder Fehler bei der Zeiteinstellung: Wenn ich zum Beispiel 30 Minuten zusätzliche Zeit vergeben habe, war diese manchmal schon nach 15 Minuten wieder abgelaufen. Solche Bugs machen die App für den Alltag unbrauchbar. Apps aktualisieren sich nicht von selbst… ahh, es ist alles irgendwie umständlich und ich hab es wirklich probiert und gewollt! Fazit: Die Idee ist großartig, aber die Umsetzung voller kleiner Fehler und Unzuverlässigkeiten. Für uns hat Ohana leider überhaupt nicht funktioniert. Ich kann die App nicht weiterempfehlen.

Not accurate
Ohana was put on my phone and I find it pretty annoying. It’s really bad at measuring how much time I’ve used. Sometimes I’ll wake up in the morning and all my screen time for the day will be gone, even though I haven’t even touched my phone yet. My mom is constantly having to give me more screen time because it keeps running out. If you’re a parent and you wanna control your screen time, don’t use this app. Just use the one in settings.
Atleast some changes
I’m only saying this because my mom got me this app and like she puts it on 12 or below for me but there should be an option to like download games that’s are like 17+ but have to ask parents permission because some apps are 17+ for no reason like block blast there’s nothing inappropriate about that
Fast Gut
die App macht fast sie soll und das zuverlässig. Es gibt nur ein großen Fehler, man kann die Apps vom Kindertelefon auf dem Elterntelefon nicht einsehen und dementsprechend auch nicht einstellen.

This app is not ok
This app is not only invading privacy but it also causes fight because my mom can see any thing I’m doing and I have a app where I can watch anime and my mom misunderstand it to being porn hub and causes a whole fight and not only that but it also gets kids bullied in school for have this app know your parents can see anything because now a lot of kids see me as a kid who their parents control and for the parents who are reading this, why are you getting this app?, so you can control your kids life?, no it’s not keeping your kid safe, it’s making your kid feel trapped and feel like you can’t do anything at all in your life, why would you want that for your kid?.
Total unzuverlässig
Leider funktioniert die App bei einem meiner Kinder nicht zuverlässig. Beim Kleinen macht sie was sie soll; der große hat trotz entsprechender Einstellungen unbegrenzt Bildschirmzeit. Alles probiert, gelöscht, neu gekoppelt. Nichts funktioniert. Vom Kundenservice werde ich leider ignoriert. Kosten habe ich natürlich dennoch voll bezahlt. Nicht zu empfehlen…
Needs Some Work
Ohana helps put limits on usage by my teen. The only drawback is that it says he’s reached his 3 hour limit when he hasn’t even been on the cellphone but 20-30 minutes. Not sure how they are calculating phone time but it’s inaccurate.

I am a user and one time I remember I started watching at 3pm and I checked my screen time at 3:15 and it said I watched for 40 mins
Leider zu oft Fehler
Grundsätzlich gute Idee, aber laufend Probleme das am Handy des Kindes was nicht geht, keine Verbindung, teils entsperren mit Code nicht möglich. Leider seit 4 Wochen nicht mehr brauchbar. Der Support reagiert auch gar nicht. Kann man nur löschen und kündigen.
Doesn’t work consistently
The time limits don’t seem to work properly, I will give my child extra time and it automatically uses it up and says they ran out. Now I’m stuck having to continually give them “extra” time that they haven’t even used, which then messes up the tracking statistics for their screen time.

Easier to use then the other apps out there. Helps me keep calm with my kids being on their phones too much aaaaallll the time!
Horrible app
My mom download this app for Me and now I feel like I cannot have my privacy because she can see my stuff and also mess with my screen time limit to the point on it’s so annoying because I cannot talk to my friends and even if I try to delete the app it tells her I did this app is the world’s most annoying app
It lags so bad
I’m a kid, and my mom got me Ohana. I don’t care too bad, I agree with the limited screen time thing. Ohana has a timer that shows you how many minutes you have remaining, but multiple times I’ve had it lag and tell me I’ve used up all 70 minutes of it as soon as I wake up, when my screen time on apple says it’s been 2 minutes. Ohana, please please please fix this bug, It’s been really annoying to deal with. I’ve noticed it happens if the power goes out at midnight and I’m out of cellular data- I don’t think it loads properly.
Back door access
My 11 year old found a way to circumvent the Ohana controls by using Assistive Access. So far I appreciate Ohana’s simplicity but can you please fix this?

Don’t use if kid is over 12
I am 15 and my mom used this app for me instead of the built in screen time. It was personally embarrassing for any of my peers to see that not only did I have screen time as a high schooler but I had an app called Ohana. The app made it so my mom could see everything on my phone, and would look at everything on it which made me feel like I had no privacy in anything. Because not only could she track me but she could control and see everything on it. She would constantly question me on websites I was on which led to many misunderstandings and fights that could have been avoided. This also made me feel like I had no control over anything which crushed my self esteem, and would make me feel constantly angry with her and her need to control my life. It’s stupid to center your life around a phone, but to my generation we need a little freedom and a phone is a big step of freedom and having that taken away feels terrible. So not only did this app lead to many fights that could have been avoided it made me have a sense of no freedom and caused me to get made fun of by my friends. If you get this app please don’t use it as my parents have.
