I love yikyak
Yikyak has been the center of my life ever since coming to college. After coming to uni, I became engrossed with this beautiful app. I’ve always loved X (formerly Twitter), and now combine that with anonymity and everyone being on the same page? It’s perfect. You’re bored on campus? Yikyak. Nothing to do? Yikyak. Want to talk about your horrible professor without them knowing? Yikyak. It’s always the answer. And I really mean Always. I wish to keep yikyak in my further education and make this an app that can be used in any company. Please make this possible 🙏🙏
love it but
consistently makes me sign out and redownload the app repeatedly until it decides to work again
It’s just not the same
.
She Yik on my Yak until I’m anonymous
😛
Bad app
Terrible
Unbanned
Can I get unbanned
must download
Top tier college app
reporting and downvoting bullying got me banned.
in 2016, this app dropped ~75% in downloads due to cyber bullying alone and had to lay off 60% of their staff as a result. even after being bought by a new company in 2023, still holds the same morals.. clearly. if a social platform is attempting to make a positive impact: don’t we think they’d respond to criticism and make the necessary changes instead of perma-banning people just reporting racist comments? Yikyak has an agenda for what you read and consume. hate is promoted and kindness is not shown. other comments prove this. this a social platform everyone should avoid unless you’re a racist, go right ahead apparently because that’s genuinely all i saw in comments. If you are someone you love is currently experiencing cyberbullying, please search for a local crisis line for your city, they are trained for this and your life is worth more than these people make you think❤️
Why
This app used to make sense and be great. Anonymously post to a feed with people in your area. Now it’s just a forum/reddit clone with no location based stuff at all. What’s even the point?
Yikyak is glorious
App is genuinely great for keeping up with news around campus, and is actively developing into something more and more usefully almost daily. I don’t think I’ll ever stop using this app for the rest of my college career
Don’t bother
I submitted my name, phone number, and school email and it says it can’t find my school yet my friends who go to the same school were able to register??? The app is full of “trigger words” you can’t post and you don’t find out about until you try and post something. They’re not context dependent so it doesn’t matter if your post is positive or negative. A few of my friends who were able to get registered have shown me how dead the app is and it’s only getting worse. The app is dead, bury it.
Lwky really well maintained
you can tell the development team puts thought behind the app
App is now useless. Don’t bother.
Yak now requires you to verify your phone number, and your college or university email. After jumping through these hoops it tells me, we couldn’t find your school, and I’m completely unable to use the app after both verifications. Don’t waste your time with this app anymore. It was great many years ago.
Best College Social App
I have been on the app for about over a year and consistently have had updates from my university peers on events, funny occurrences, meme sharing and much more!
New and offended
Make it the way it used to be where you could say stuff on this app without getting suspended from it because your yak had a trigger word like “trans” or “grape drink” in literally any context
I love this app
This app has gotten me through rough times at college and made me love my campus even more due to the amount of people who are funny on here
should be available for everyone and use groups
Use groups to decide who’s in uni or college and who wants to be able to see all posts; be more proactive on the hide feature when people downvote posts by not showing them unless you choose to click them instead of needing to moderate. Would be an awesome anon community app otherwise, and is such a good idea that it should expand!!
i love this app
i love yik yak. i can yik and i can yak, i can connect with my campus. yik yak.
can’t get on :(
my school email isn’t accepted by yik yak :(
Yiking my Yak
I downloaded this app in 2022, so I’ve seen it go through a lot of changes over the years. That being said, it is something I use a lot of the time and I’ve met some pretty great people on here. Very good app
Changed the app completely with the college update
Yik yak was dying already and now it’s even worse since most people are graduated already
YikYak is Touse of all apps
This app lowk Touse in the App Store
The new update sucks
You got rid of the 5 Mile radius feature. And you can’t join without a school email, which a lot of the people in my herd were out of school for a few years. This was not a user friendly update. It didn’t need a change.
