I HATE HATE HATE the update to spin the wheel to select the time. It takes so much time spinning for a start and end time. I use this app to post rsvp’s for a gym that has 4 classes a day and this app now causes me stress about the time it takes to post a class. Change it now!
Disappointed they removed SMS
I like using this app as an adult. However, since they removed SMS access, it is no longer safe for my preteen or teen. Parental controls cannot control the app itself. SMS was a way for them to join groups and still be safe. I am disappointed that they took that away.

awesome in theory and mostly good actually, but glitchy
groupme is usually my preferred group messaging app. I like the features it offers that some other apps might not have. there are a couple smaller things that I think would be nice, like seeing the “pending” responses on polls like you do on events, an option for people to rsvp to an event without joining the group, or being able to add more options to polls and more characters to event descriptions, but the actual ISSUE with the app is that it’s just so glitchy all the time. seems like there’s always some kinda of issue, messages not showing up has been a here and there issue in my experience for years, not as much lately but I just found out it happens to someone else in the chat and even just now there was something weird with a message I sent so I check the website and see it sent twice even though only the one without reactions is showing in my app. I’ll try reloading and restarting the app and it makes no difference. the biggest thing lately has been the albums. every time an album gets involved, the glitchiness magnifies by so much. when the albums first started I thought it was just because my app wasn’t up to date yet and since then I keep it up to date (also thinking eventually one of these new updates would fix it) and it’s still so glitchy eta : 1. the albums feature in the app is so glitchy that it’s actually infuriating at times and 2. I get why it does it, but I really wish it didn’t automatically count the event host as an rsvp especially lately as the app and site have both been glitching to set your rsvp to yes after you remove it (I didn’t used to have this problem, so not sure why it’s happening now)

Please make it able to put 324 numbers!!! I need GroupMe for dance and my phone number starts with 324 and it won’t let me! I need this fixed as soon as possible
Nothing works
Can’t even add a name or a picture to this app. Every time I try to join a group it just says “something went wrong .” Totally useless.

i was on this app for my school team and realized others from different gc's i was in could privately message me. i wanted to troll- god forbid -and some random guys kept sending me their dih pic ( which i did not ask for) but anyways gucci gang be carful who's texting you and asking personal questions about anything related to your school, what you look like, your age, etc
Something’s wrong
The app was going great like three days ago. Then it randomly signed me out. I tried everything and it still does not work. For some reason it is telling me my phone number is not valid?? And yes i have double checked many times. I’ve tried to sign in using apple, Email and it tells me the same thing. My phone number is not valid.
Not an Apple
We have many members of the group communicating well. But one does not have an Apple device, that seems selective and eliminating to some.
Bug - Just want to let y’all know
I’ve found a consistent bug where if I create an all day event (such as a birthday), and then I try to edit it, I get an error message saying “End date can not be less than current date”. Not sure if this is relevant, but the event is in a “Main Chat” of a group with sub threads
Won’t let me log in
I don’t have an account here though when I did it with my phone number, it stated the country isn’t supported yet. But I live in America. The three first letters are (939) please fix this.
Improve or remove voice messaging
We use GroupMe for our high school sports team. Since you added the voice feature the kids like to use it to be funny. However, the voice quality is SO poor that you can’t even understand what anyone is saying. My recommendation is to improve the quality or remove it entirely as it’s not useful to the point of being annoying lol
Annoying
I didn’t mess with the app for a long time because it’s the summer and my groups from school were not using it at the time. Well the app has logged me out. Because I mistakenly typed in my email wrong when I first got the app (would not let me change it) so when I try to reset my password I can’t get the email. It also won’t send me a text message instead. So now I can’t log in to my account and have lost all the groups I joined and will have to rejoin them. However the app won’t even let me make a new account with my Apple ID, Microsoft, and Google. Other than this mess the app is pretty good. 😩
Log in issue
It’s just stuck on the pin verified. But it says logging in. But I used it before and it doesn’t work

Ok app but they need to allow kids 11+ because it’s not fair that 13+ can join groups for teams but not kids
Like it except…
Our group has benefited from this app for a few years now, and it has been excellent for our purposes. Today,however, a group appeared which I hadn’t signed up for and have been unable to leave. From the messages posted there most of the others are having the same problem. Hopefully you are working on an upgrade that will solve this security issue.
No longer receiving notifications
I no longer receive any notifications even though my settings are correctly set to receive them. Prior to this, I had a couple of groups that received notifications and a couple that didn’t. Our school uses this app throughout the day which makes this a significant problem.
Not great for managing groups as admin
The app version on iPhone doesn’t seem well suited to being the manager of groups. Even though I have set up a joint question for my group, I never see any answer from people requesting to join. Also, I get tons of scammers and spammers trying to join the group… Instead of actual people. I don’t see a setting to make it harder for those people to request access or force them to answer join questions and display the answers on this app version.

Many issues especially content
This app lacks many safeguards, and content filters. Anybody can message you and it gets really sketchy. I accidentally logged out of my account and it says account frozen and I can’t log back in. Help

The experience so far is being nice
I hate this so much
Although its convenient for college campuses especially for dorms and clubs it’s so infuriating to deal with!! 1. Last semester group me wouldn’t even allow me to join groups for classes or study groups when I was given the link to join directly ! Someone had to manually add me so I could communicate with them. 2: when I tried to log into the app with my Microsoft account it wouldn’t let me, so then I used my phone number and it still didn’t work! Then I changed my password multiple times but somehow my phone number or school email is somehow “wrong”. And it’s fustrating because universities rely so heavily on this app. Hopefully this app will improve, or another app will become the primary use for communications, it should not be this difficult to log into an account I never logged out of! I’m only using it cause my clubs and dorms require it to keep up with communication .

It’s good but when I send a lot of photos I have to delete the app and reinstall it because it lags my phone idk if you can fix that or not but honestly awesome app keep up the great work guys
Excellent Group communication app
GroupMe is an excellent app that has made group communication so much easier and more enjoyable! I love the apps simple and user-friendly interface, which makes it a breeze to set up groups and start chatting with friends, family or coworkers. The app also lot of fun features like custom emoji, group photos and ability to send gifs and memes. On of the hinge I appreciate most about GroupMe is it’s reliability. I have never experienced any issues with messages not sending or the app crashing, which is so important when you are relying on group chat for communication. Overall, I would highly recommend the app to anyone looking for a reliable ans easy to use group chat app.
No SMS messages
Pretty much worthless now that it is not forwarding as a text message!!
Is the app available in South Africa?
Friend used this app before and lives in South Africa, but the app won’t show up for her anymore. We’ve tried everything but a no-show, so has it been restricted in SA?
So many bots
I’m a college student managing a club of around 100 people. Our group chat has around 230 people, at least 100 of which are bots. The bots post scam sales which entice people into giving away card information. It’s gotten so bad we’ve had to create a bot to remove the bots, and around 15 are banned each day. But every time new bots come to replace the ones that leave. When we try to make a new group chat and painstakingly ask every person in the club to join the bots still show up. We can’t have it by request, because we can’t distinguish the bots from people who want to join. This issue needs to be fixed.

Can’t log in
I absolutely cannot login with this app. No matter how many things I tried, it will just get stuck. This is something I expected when apps first were introduced almost 20 years ago, but not in 2026.
Small gripe
Newest version always starts rotated vertically. Really annoying for an iPad that's always used on a desktop. Please fix this or add an in-app lock

Date of Birth info
Please can you add a DOB section in the ‘account’ info section along with name, email address, etc? I keep getting notifications telling me to give DOB, I click the link, am asked to log in online, I do so, then sent from internet to the app page, at which point it all goes quiet and no more requests pop up and there is NO SECTION to enter your DOB manually and so I can’t! I don’t want to be blocked from using this app because of this system - please can you help make it easier. Thanks.

Parents should understand what they’re allowing
Parents should know that giving a child access to GroupMe means much more than allowing them into one approved group. GroupMe lacks basic safeguards I would expect from an app widely used by minors. Parents can’t limit kids to approved groups or contacts, prevent private communication outside those groups, or meaningfully supervise their account. A private school, church, team, or activity group does not mean your child’s GroupMe access is contained there. There are content concerns, too. GroupMe includes in-app searching for online images, GIFs, and videos. Another parent told me her son’s first exposure to explicit content occurred through GroupMe on an Android despite parental safeguards on his phone. She hadn’t realized what he could access from within the app. Even major social-media platforms now offer teen accounts and parental supervision. It’s extremely concerning that Microsoft offers so few protections for minors on an app so commonly used by youth organizations. Parents should understand the broader access they’re allowing before putting GroupMe on a child’s device. Our kids will only use it with direct parental oversight.
Bugs
Good can tends to be very glitchy when reentering the application. There are many bugs, the main bug I find on my IPhone 5S is when I enter the app the group chat scrolls to the top of the screen
App doesn’t load at all anymore
This app used to be okay. It never could load videos but ever since the last update nothing loads

Awesome app and really useful for my Bootcamp clients to chat with each other but glitch won't let me add new people to the chat?! Until sorted it's 3* otherwise would be 5*
