I almost didn’t download the App seeing so many negative reviews but the App seems to be working perfectly fine. I connected to the soundbar without issues. You can change name, access advanced settings like booster level. Perhaps issues were in an earlier version but it is working now as I would expect.
worst app ever
Sound bar won’t connect to wifi or it drops connection. changes to the speaker balance does not register. The voice volume is too low, sound effects too high. and whenever i try to change it the changes don’t save. I knew i should’ve went with sonos. i am going to return this thing. the damn tv volume sounds better alone
Glitch with Multi-Channel Experience Slider
There seems to be a glitch with the "Multi-channel experience" slider option in Cinema Mode. I currently have the "LG S95QR" and it seems that the sliders are reversed because when I turn off the slider it has the surround effect that it's supposed to have when it on and when I turn it on it disables the surround effect

Can’t use my sound bar because the app isn’t up-to-date with the android version
Needs update
It needs widget support to allow a Night Mode toggle to be created. It also needs the ability to show more detailed info about what audio codec is being played. Multi channel experience and surround sound options also desperately need a simpler and clear explanation about what the options do as it’s not clear or obvious.

The manual with the LG speaker literally says to get this app, with a QR code link, but then the app says the speaker isn’t compatible with the app. Honestly its hilarious how ridiculous that is. That’s on top of the fact that LG doesn’t seem to realize that not all of their speakers have a bluetooth button, and that some of them just have an “F” (function) button to scroll through the input types. They don’t even know their own products lol.

This app would be nothing short of perfect if it weren’t for all the bugs and problems this app has. I would’ve never expected an app to behave like this after I dropped $1,000 on a soundbar setup. This app is downright embarrassing the way I never know whether or not it’ll actually work with me that day and it’s so annoying and frustrating.
It works
While it feels like my little brother’s first iPhone app, it got the job done connecting my speaker to wi-fi.
Worked Great
Have LG Atmos soundbar and woofer. Would randomly drop sound and BT connect to unknown neighbor device. App fixed this issue and updated soundbar. Works better than it ever has now. Negative reviews are probably from stupid idiots. Merry Christmas.
Can’t connect to soundbar. Useless
Used to work for me. More no longer connects to my soundbar. I’ve tried everything including multiple resets and unplugging. App finds my soundbar but can’t complete the connection process. More LG Garbage apps. Similar problems with my LG laundry machine app.
Make a Widget dang it
I change my audio from cinema to gaming all the time. Either make that automatic based on what aux/app im using or probably more easily, make this app have a widget with basic controls and volume control.
Suggestion
Would be great if we could have presets for different things such as when I want to listen to music I have the input as Bluetooth and want the settings per speaker different as well as changing the sound effect but when I want to watch tv I have it as cinema and connected to e arc and again change the settings per speaker around. It’s all a bit of a faff when I could just have two presets for each. Unless I’ve not discovered this feature it would be a great feature to have to improve the app.
Difficult to connect Soundbar to WiFi
I have USC9S. I could not get soundbar to connect to my main WiFi (Deco Mesh). This is first device I haven’t been able to connect to my Decos. Thankfully I also have Eero and the soundbar would connect with that. Once connected, the app is easy to use and is best way to configure the soundbar giving access to db settings for each speaker and in room tuning menus. Connecting to WiFi also allowed soundbar to update SW.

Won’t Even Connect to My Soundbar
My sound bar was already connected to my WiFi, everything was on and it was paired with my phone. But it would not find the sound bar and couldn’t connect. If it’s an LG Soundbar app why can’t it find its own device? Disappointed.

Bare bones
I expected the app to offer more functionality and this is not it. Doesn’t have much in way of options other than a few basic settings. For example, you should be able to turn individual speakers in a surround sound setup all the way down (or up) for the perfect experience. This one for some reason, only allows up to +- 6 db adjustments from the main soundbar. You can’t turn the soundbar on from the app either. And, when you connect to the soundbar via bluetooth, the source switches to bluetooth automatically. I’d like to keep my source as HDMI while watching TV and connect with my phone’s Bluetooth to make adjustments.

Lots of negative reviews here, I can’t say they’re all wrong. However, the app is working great for me! I either knew what I was doing or just accidentally nailed the sound system setup, awesome kit! Using Model - SPD7R(5F)

При подключении к s60q на телефоне сразу предложило скачать приложение и с первого раза по блютузу всё подключилось. Есть пара просьб по улучшению: 1. Чтобы саундбар запоминал настройки через приложение. Замечаю, что при перезагрузке саундбара сбрасываются настройки для эквалайзера и прочие. 2. Добавьте жест назад в приложении внутри настроек, ужасно неудобно тянуться до верхней стрелки. 3. Нехватает полноценного эквалайзера в несколько полос. 4. Добавьте регулировку громкости через кнопки + и -, пользоваться полоской неудобно, тк есть риск резко повысить или понизить громкость случайно.
Horrible connection interface
The app is nice to have with LG’s SC9c soundbar when you can get it connected. LG support reliably answers their phones 24/7 but competency is lacking. App was very difficult to connect when initially setup and worked fine for months until LG instructed us to do a hard rest on OLED tv to clear a lack of memory error code and now the app again won’t connect. Waiting on 4th support person to call back.

Only wish it had more sound controls
The app and speakers work fine. I only wish I had more control over all sound aspects. I am limited by what the app has to offer but would be great if I could control how much pan I want on L/R sound.
Consistent connection issues
I have a LG Soundbar that I can find and connect to via the LG Soundbar app. It will not allow me to complete the set up unless I register with Google Home, which I do and the device is present.. still no connection accepted. If I fully reset the sound bar (now I must reset my EQ/tv settings) it MIGHT work. Even then it periodical disconnects and the whole process resets. I absolutely hate the Google home integration. Everything registers except for this hand off that is required to use the app. Just terrible.

Doesn’t work with WPA2 or WPA3 security
This app forces you to the ThinQ app, which doesn’t let you specify WPA2 security. It won’t connect to WiFi router unless I lower security setting to WPA. My LG G4 OLED wont register with the S95TR soundbar since latest update. This makes it impossible to use the built in wireless WOWCast feature. I’m regretting buying the S95TR. Note: I was able to set the WiFi password and security by using my iPhone WiFi settings after putting the soundbar into WiFi setup mode by pressing the soundbar WiFi. Button until it blinked three white leds. Then I used the iPhone to enter the password. The ThinQ app needs fixing to allow this or the instructions should explain the alternate method which I actually found in an internet search.

Does not work with LG SN6Y Soundbar
This app asks way too many questions about location and such when it’s only purpose is to connect with and control my LG soundbar. It cannot find my soundbar. After noodling with it I finally get to a message stating that my soundbar is not supported. It’s kind of useless to put it nicely. I thought the App Store could do better than this. I have no problems at all with the Android version.

an meine DS80QY war doch etwas schwierig. Schlussendlich hat es aber funktioniert. Die Anbindung der SPQ8- Rear Lautsprecher in das bestehende System wurde hingegen anstandslos von der App übernommen. Alles in allem macht sie was sie soll. Sie könnte noch etwas strukturierter in den Menüs sein.
No guidance on how to resolve issues
So I paid like $800 for this system to use with my LG TV, both of which are advertised as having WOWCAST. speakers have connected to WIFI perfectly fine. TV is also connected to WiFi. Yet for some reason the TV cannot connect to the speaker. It doesn’t see it. No instructions through the app or anywhere else. I’ve also tried using the AI room calibration and it’s failed every time. This app is almost useless. For $800, I really expected more. Or at least for the thing to work as advertised. Last time I buy from LG.

Ребята, здравствуйте. 0-10% громкость Дб просто срывается вверх. Очень громко сразу. Невозможно отрегулировать громкость. Зато после 30% мощность нарастания звука ОоОоОочень плавная. Я понимаю что Дб нелинейная функция. Но сделайте все же в начале хотя бы до 20% плавнее раза в 3 хоть ‼️ Чтобы ночью не подпрыгивали соседи от резкого мощного звука. Ооочень неудобно. Уплавнялка в приложении включена. Источник ios (iphone 13 pro max) штатное приложение “Музыка”, треки из Apple music через “Airplay” Исправьте пожалуйста 🙏🏼 soundbar LG s80qr

Don’t know why so many negative reviews…most seem like it’s bc electronics don’t seem to be your thing… don’t blame the app bc u don’t understand how to connect the soundbar and make it work with the tv

Ai Room Calibration
Nach dem letzen Update lässt sich die Ai Room Kalibrierung an meiner DS95QR nicht mehr durchführen. Ich bekomme immer einen Fehler das der Subwoofer zu weit weg steht bzw. verdeckt ist und das selbst wenn ich den Subwoofer direkt neben, unter oder auf die Soundbar stelle. Somit ist das Feature nutzlos mit der das Produkt beworben wird. Ob es jetzt an der Soundbar oder der App liegt lässt sich nicht erklären. Mit der vorigen Version hatte ich aber keine Probleme. Desweiteren kommt es immer mal wieder zu keiner Connection der Soundbar mit dem Internet bzw. mit der App.
Just ok, needs some more work from LG
The LG soundbar remote app is okay overall. It’s pretty nice that it allows you to control all the functions of the speaker directly from your phone, which makes for a more seamless experience. However, one drawback is that the app disconnects every time the TV turns off, which can be quite annoying. The workaround is to refresh the app and manually reconnect the TV to the soundbar, but it would be better if this issue didn’t happen in the first place.

Schöne Features. Mit der DS90QY hat man die Möglichkeit in der App Software Updates durchzuführen, den Night Time Modus zu aktivieren, eine Ai Room Calibration ist verfügbar und die Toneinstellung nach Lautsprechern. Darüber hinaus erhält man Zugriff auf Klangeffekte wie Ai Sound Pro (automatische Optimierung nach Inhaltstyp), Standard, Cinema, Music with Meridian (speziell für Musik) usw. Neben noch ein paar kleineren Einstellungen ist das auch „schon“ alles. Natürlich wünschen sich einige „Profis“ mehr Möglichkeiten zum Personalisieren, ein Equalizer wäre gut und ein Kratzer entsteht auch im Image, wenn man bei 1000€ eine externe App installieren muss, um nicht umständlich die Fernbedienung zu verwenden. LG soundbar gut installieren Müll
Die Soundbar hat am Anfang sehr gut funktioniert. Kaum wechselt man den Router, muss man alles neue einstellen und das Google Konto zeig nur noch Fehler an. Warum bezahlt man soviel Geld für eine Soundbar das einfach zu installieren ist. Aber man muss ein Googlekonto erstellen, was nicht mehr funktioniert. Bei der Konkurrenz ist es auf jedenfall einfacher und schneller. Die Soundbar, wurd jetzt verkauft und es kommt was einfaches rein. Danke LG das ihr es so einfach macht, Müll.
Older model
I have a 2020 model sph4b. It’s not supported with this app but I had previously used it for this soundbar a while back but not a different phone. I just wanted to be able to change the settings back to bass boosted. We like our music and bass so yeah. Would love if it could be supported for the app. Or I just buy a different soundbar.
Initial issues connecting SOLVED
Had the issues widely reported with the LG Soundbar app attempting to connect my new SP8YA Soundbar … SOLVED: Download Google Home (on iOS) - use this app to connect the sound bar to WiFi. Update firmware on SP8YA using Google Home … wait … LG Soundbar app now connects - calibrate. OMG - the sound now is another level - brilliant bit of kit, just a pain to configure. Connected by eARC for TV - LG C2 OLED (remember to enable on TV to make work) and AirPlay .. added to Apple Home.

AirPlay-Ansage überflüssig
Die App an sich ist wirklich brauchbar. Könnte man die Deaktivierung der unsäglichen Ansage von „AirPlay“ in den Einstellungen implementieren? Diese ertönt auch dann wenn die Option „Sprachführung“ deaktiviert ist. Einerseits ist sie überflüssig und andererseits ertönt in einer nicht vorhersehbaren Lautstärke.
