Best entertainment center ever
Works about half the time.
The app used to work great. But now it just doesn’t seem to work. Half the time it’s fine but half the time it won’t connect even though it’s on the same network and the TV is turned on. No rhyme or reason just won’t connect.
TV + Soundbar
Very happy with the TV and the soundbar. The pic is excellent and the soundbar compliments the viewing experience. It is. Sony, not some cheap Chinese brand.
Keep loosing sound
I get the sound working with my Bravia TV, then if I switch to a different TV app the sound gets lost and have to return to TV speakers.
Could be more
I will say it’s a great soundbar and it wasn’t to difficult to set up. It sounds great for movies not necessarily bad when you’re listening to talk shows or news but it really lacks bass. Over all volume and punch could be much better. I was expecting more power and volume from it. It does sound good and it’s a great piece especially over the TV speakers. I just have the soundbar so I think I wil need to add the woofer and side speakers to get what I want. I heard a competitors bar at my friends house and it definitely had more punch and sound especially listening to a concert. I am happy with it though.
Great app works well
I would just recommend to change the icon or give the ability to change it in app. Maybe change it to Sony Bravia and have a sleek design black and white.
Speaker Connection Issues
Getting the speakers to connect to a Bravia 9 Ii consistently is a constant chore. The app tells me they are connected but the next button is greyed out during setup and the tv states connection failed.
First week of use
First impression is pretty good, setup was smooth using the app, the functions or toggles could do with little more explanations, the sound settings could be better highlighted and easier to access
App bug - unable to connect device
App will most times not connect to device. Requires several app closures & reconnection attempts to connect. Once one closes the app, you go through the above to connect again. Not fit. Please fix.

Should be Bravia disconnect
It continually disconnects from my 2024 Bravia 8, I have a Yamaha receiver and both their apps stay connected .
Sony App
The Sony APP is one of the most difficult to use. It asks for verification via a code sent to your email which requires you to close the signin app. When you you return to the app it requires you to start over. It would make a lot less difficult if the app would text to you a code which IPhone iOS would automatically recognize and fill. The instructions for HDMI hookup is also very poor. Come on Sony for a premiere product you could do better.

Great product, highly recommended
This app sucks and so does the TVs that use it
First off all, 90% the app does not want to connect to my I got a Sony Bravia 8 and it has by far been the biggest disappointment of my life. I figured since PlayStation is a Sony product the two devices would get along swimmingly. But whenever I load up YouTube. My screen just freezes and it won’t unfreeze unless I turn the TV off. So I load up Sony Bravia Connect only for it never to work or connect. So I have to get up off my fat behind and find the remote. But turning off the TV via remote also shuts off my PlayStation. This is one of many complaints I have about this TV that I spent $1,500 on. I could write a whole book on why this TV sucks.
Great when it works
I need Sony to reach out to me. I have a 77” Sony Bravia K77XR8B and the Sony Quad theater system. I set both the tv and the Quad to the app and it worked perfectly. Both systems showed and were synced together as one screen. Now when I open the app it says that I unplugged the HDMI cable and the systems now show separately on the app. But it doesn’t do it every time. Sometimes it will show both systems (Quad and TV)working together. It’s very frustrating. What can I do to fix this so the quad and the tv sync together on the app?
App was OK until the last couple of TV for more updates
When I first got my Bravia 7, this app seem to work OK. You can use it as a remote and it connected consistently. I don't know if it is an app issue or a TV issue, but after the last two Bravia TV firmware update updates, this app no longer connects more than once I have to make the app forget the TV, then I am usually able to reconnect and it will work. But if I close the app and open it again, it says that it can't find the TV. So the app is essentially useless unless you want to pair it every single time you use it. Edit: as of August 1, 2026, the app never finds my TV anymore so I can't use it at all. TV is on and working fine otherwise, but the app never sees the TV anymore.
It works but…
It functionally works, but it’s not intuitive. I typically only either want to adjust brightness or turn on night mode since the rest I haven’t touched since setup. Adjusting brightness/picture mode is not as simple as it should be. I never really use other remote functionality that they offer.

Horrific connectivity
When it works, it works fine. Is it better than replacing my remote? Not really. Once the app wants to reconnect with refreshed credentials, hold your breath. Seldom works unless I restart it from scratch. Secondly, authentication is terrible. They want passkeys, which is fine. But they want you to scan a QR code - with another phone? 2MFA with email doesn’t work and sends you into a loop of QR codes. Terrible workflow.
Recent TV update broke app connectivity
After the last TV software update, I have to reboot the tv all the time to get the app to connect.
Sony is the best
This is the best in sound quality, esthetics, price point and my family and I are very impressed!
No brain was used in dev
Who built this? Who built a web based login on a TV Remote app that logs you out every while? It’s a TV remote app and I’m supposed to login to my Sony account when I urgently need it to lower the volume or something? No brain dev, please, learn about token stateless authentication and auto token refresh, never ask users to re-login in order to turn the volume down - it’s much easier to find the remote than that.
Exceptional app as an alternative to remote
The app is excellent with all controls. The navigation pad is excellent but sometimes the toggle switch to audio & output settings is causing difficulty sometimes.

Overall it works well, but you should be able to keep night mode on and not have to turn it on every time you turn your TV on.

Syncing issues
Need to remove devices almost daily and re add to get the picture and sound to match. I understand the sync sound delay, most of the time the sound is coming before the picture starts speaking.

Terrible no-frills software. That basically ruins a potentially good sounding sound bar and sub. An actual equalizer would go a long ways, but I guess it would break the Bank of a little Mom and Pop outfit like Sony.

Hijacked by a Roku controller…
Have the TV, have the remote, have the app (obviously). Roku is HDMI 1. TV load to Roku. TV’s remote is useless and the app, can’t connect. Yes idiot checks for WiFi were done, even tried to reset and reconnect to tv as new… nope, didn’t recognize any devices (the TV).

Sound setup
I can’t get my iPhone 16Pro to work with sound set up. It gets the first part (where you aim the phone’s microphone towards the sound bar, but as soon as I raise it vertically, as instructed, it fails and suggests there may be loud noises or that the microphone of the phone is being blocked (neither of which is true). So is this the only way to get this soundbar with the largest sub and Sony’s best rear speakers calibrated? This is ridiculous.

Good but one major issue
I had connected a sony soundbar to the app and have since disconnected it. Every time i open my tv remote it keeps showing “set up audio device” which blocks two buttons.

The device cannot be found, even when connected to the same network. This issue occurs repeatedly and takes lot of time if sometime connects.

It works about 50% of the time. Otherwise, I can find the TV, but it cannot connect to the TV it found. Sony support has been rather unsupportive.
